ED007 has your opinion changed on Gordon? I know you were very critical of Celtic signing him but you must give him credit for working hard to get himself fit.
I know it is only a handful of games but he has looked the part and even tonight pulled off some great saves, for a free transfer player replacing a £10m keeper he looks like fabulous business by Celtic.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - No my opinion hasn't changed, why would it have, his decision making is very poor. He parries the ball too much and it's usually into dangerous areas (is it his weakened arms?), he went to ground far too early for the first goal tonight and if he hadn't been caught in no-man's land against Maribor at CP we would be in the CL. Watch that goal back again, as the ball is breaking away from the goal he should have repositioned himself on his line, if he had done that he would have stopped the ball.}

Fair enough on not changing your opinion but you are being a tad harsh on him mate he certainly isn't made of "glass" he be back in a Scotland set-up in no time IMO

How are you feeling noo Tim?

ATVB

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Maybe if his wrists/arms were at full strength he could punch the ball out better.}

I thought Gordon played very well tonight. Made great saves, controlled his box better than forster and was unlucky with a deflection and a great free kick. LB n RB are a priority.

Agree0 Disagree0

First goal caused by poor central defending, pass split them wide open.
Same with Maribor away.
I had same doubts over Gordon but in all games I've seen him this year then think he deserves credit.
You would think that Forster was some sort of peerless keeper, that boy has many flaws which resulted in only Southampton, the "big" EPL club come in for him.
As for blaming him for cl exit is poor

Agree0 Disagree0

I think if Gordon had been playing at Murrayfield, we might still be in the CL.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh Dear ED are you havin a bad day! Scotland says NO and Gordon proves already he is as good as or even better so early in his Celtic career than Forster. Rest assured ED as Ronny says "he is going to get better". You slag Gordon off about Maribor home game but I remember Forster when the Sheep Killers came to Celtic Park. The 2nd half at 2-2 Forster was in "No Mans Land" twice when Matthews had to clear off the line and from a Shy which bounced on Forsters 6 yard line and hit the bar. In Gordon WE Trust. Hail Hail

@Jamiebhoy thanks for asking about my health, getting there slowly, Mrs T keeping me on a tight rein lol
ED007 I still think you are being too hard on Gordon as others say Forster had faults also, and I can see bigger clubs coming for Gordon if he keeps up good performances and we do not have him on a longer contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Sep 2014 18:19:37
Ed, If All our players were as poor as Craig Gordon we would have nothing to worry about! He may have been slightly out if position on the Maribor goal but overall his contribution do far this season has been more than acceptable, in fact he has been one of our better players if not our best player so far. I liked Fraser but he was overhyped. Gordon will do me and I hope we get him signed to a longer term contract as long as the knee holds up.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's good Tim, wee steps in the right direction :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

We have CG tied up to effectively a 3 yr deal that is perfect IMO

Decent result, like the look of Wakaso decent debut, but the two weak links as usual Ambrose and Izzi, surely we can't persist with those two bomb scares.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Sep 2014 20:07:37
mixed bag could've won could've lost, same old mistakes, and some decent moves, but a decent away point, I don't know what game some where watching but apart from the goal wakaso wasn't in it and looked to have no touch in the fleeting moments he was, jurys out on scepovic for me as well, why tonev came on instead of a central mid I can't fathom, he also contributed nothing when he came on ,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The centre forward needs time to settle into the team. I was pleased with his working back (of course that's not enough, but it was promising a la Hooper).

Tonev I dunno. I suspect he's embarrassed by the racism claims and on edge. We'll see the best of him if and when he's comfortable being a Bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

The spoils deserved to be shared. Two teams stuck in second gear really. Fair result and a decent point away from home. Improvement needed and expected. Just hope Johansen only has bruising. Commons in Europe again though, definitely found his level in the SPFL. Ambrose too, don't mind being called a hater or a scapegoat maker, the guy is lethargic at best and scary at worst.

Agree0 Disagree0

Johanson is having a poor enough run of form in my opinion . He is certainly not capable of playing in a two man midfield .

Hope you all enjoyed that as much as I did. Good, open game, with a Celtic team truing to live up to the name. I'm especially pleased for Gordon, who was immense. Also Virgil, and Mubarak - things looking good.

Now - if we can only stay up till seven AM - love out bhoys and ghirls - a perfect day?

rabbie

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Rabbie pleased with the result but remain to be convinced by Gordon. great shot stopper and commands his area well but parries everything, mostly into a danger area.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not tonight, tho, right? I've seen him do it a million times, and I don't rate his distribution; but I thought he was man of the match tonight.

Agree0 Disagree0

How can you enjoy watching that? I was a bag of nerves we was terrible first half couldn't get the ball couldn't pass it and too many amateur heavy touches conceding possession cheaply if it wasn't for Gordon and a few wasteful efforts we would have got hammered again!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Sep 2014 18:54:11
Its hard work watching this lot, professional footballers that can't string a couple of passes together. i'm losing my patience with this guy even if we go on to win this game it makes no difference, I haven't enjoyed a game all season. what the f##k is going on?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Sep 2014 23:32:59
Still a good result away in Europe. Something some managers have failed to do in the past. He's still finding his way. Give him a break. He'll come good. He took over with a rebuild job on his hands. Look at van gaal and he's got got loads a dough to spend. Very much the same situation on a bigger scale. Will he be given time. Yes I think so. So get off his case.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Sep 2014 18:52:34
I'm struggling to think of a slower, short on ideas, unaware, lack of hunger in a celtic team!!
Can't string passes together, no movement and a sh1t bag of a centre forward, nobody can takle or don't want too? absolute joke. !

Believable0 Unbelievable0

How is he a sh1t bag he has played as a lone striker with no one giving him the ball commons is about 5 yards of the pace and the RB lb and two midfielders passing has been terrible scepovic ha s done the best he can with the ball he has got . !

Agree0 Disagree0

100% agree with you mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Chalky, playing up front alone he needs to hold the ball up, wether it's from a straight forward pass (we didn't do) or high ball, meant or just launched.
He hid from every ball and every challenge, if you think he done his best then deary me!
On a funnier note he even struggled to jump on the pile to celebrate the 2nd goal, mibe saw the ball coming there aswell?! Haha

Agree0 Disagree0

The guy is a proven goal scorer playing in a team who have made their strikers two goals in bout 10 games . Ok he didn't hold the ball up but he made some good passes and touches . Every signing that comes in gets slated and I'm getting sick of it tonev has played 70 minutes of football in about 6 months scepovic new team new country give him time ffs Hooper, McDonald were good finishers but needed the service so does scepovic . Honestly you can't please anyone anymore We are not good enough to play 433 it doesn't work also commons is a great player but he has no pace and sometimes slows the game down mcgregor looked better in the middle than commons tonight.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah no service, no chances that's not his fault, I don't care that he didn't score (there was no chance of that anyway) but what is his fault is he done NOTHING in the game.
When the ball got lumped aimlessly forward he done NOTHING, no challenge no jump no leaning in, no pressure, ducked out of every opportunity. It lead to Salzburg Having the ball every time.
As did others, but you defend from the front and we got picked off time and time again.
The rest of what you say I agree

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair point mate I think if we changed our formation and had a bit more width we would have a chance in this competition although we are struggling with the full back positions .

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Sep 2014 18:35:23
We'll that seals it I defy anyone to say Gordon's singing has not been the best bit of transfer business the world over with Forster going. Just before I'm shot down in flames I'm under no illusion that an injury could finish him but he is outstanding

That double save was fantastic , world class because the rebound was going in

Agree0 Disagree0

Yip, I was super skeptical on hearing the news. But he's a Celt now - and he has all our respect. He'll thrive on that, and the defines will too.
