My dad (god rest his soul) had a few those old Celtic lps . that was a good blast from the past for me took me right back to my short panted primary school days. wasnt the inky dinky Parlez vous song and tune used for a few Celtic songs? or is age affecting my memory. remember the glory glory glasgow Celtic one that had the line that went or at least I think went . our name is glasgow celtic no surrender till we die and the Celts go marching on. ill need to you tube them tommorrow before the final for a trip down memory lane.

Here’s the Team I’d go with tomorrow.

Bain

Lustig
Ajer
Boyata
KT

Brown
Armstrong
Rogic
Forrest
McGregor

Edouard

Reason I’d pick Edouard over girff and Dembele is I thinks he’s a mix off both pacy and strong and it’s what we need against Motherwell. and feel as if Armstrong should start as when he’s came on from the bench he looks sharp and up for it and the fact I haven’t been too impressed with nitcham with the last few games off the season. but anyway hoping for a good result tomorrow I’m saying 3-1 to us and rogic to score 1st! 🍀.

Elchris04, eddy did his hammy. Been none for weeks he’ll miss one.

Dembele for me and Ncham with Armstrong to come on after the hour with his running power he could cause havoc last 20 or so mins.

I really hope we can get off to a flyer and go 2 up after the first 10-15 mins so I can relax.

Team will be
Gordon
Lustig
Boyata
Ajer
Tierney

Brown
Ntcham

Forrest
Rogic
McGregor
Dembele.

19 May 2018 00:49:57
Depending where Armstrongs head is at he would be better off the bench. If he is 100% away he might be tempted to have a few more pops at goal when he shouldn't. Sinky/ rogic start or sub I'm on the fence. It's going to be a battle so I'd start a bigger more physical 11. Shame eddy is out but a moose start with a griff Forrest switch later. BR seems hell bent on CG making the final between the sticks. It's the kind of game where I think Kouassi next season will thrive. I'm looking forward to tomorrow HH.

Hi ED, is there any news on if sviatchenko will get a run in the team after his loan? or does BR not favour him?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - I'll be surprised to see Sviatchenko back for next season.}

18 May 2018 23:17:11
That's a shame imo, I think he's a really good CB, Would also fill up the Defence a bit better.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 May 2018 01:02:44
He has been in my work a few times. Good lad and his boy is the same age as mine so we had a bit to talk about. He will do well for a different club. BR is after man mountain pacey cbs. I was one that thought he could of been a cult hero in the early days. It didn't work out. A few teams paired him with a tall cf and he lost a lot of headers. He dipped in confidence and form that was that. I'd rather have him in the squad than an unknown. Problem is he is more than good enough to play every week somewhere. Wish the Viking all the best.

Brendan MAY go but not before back to back trebles and 10 in a row if he does Brendan I’ll donate £100 to the charity of your choice and you can hold me to that! 👍☘️.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 May 2018 16:29:20
Brendan has already stated he is in his dream job, why would he go to a club that could sack him by Christmas if he loses a few games.
I honestly can't see him leaving before the 10.

When a manager is successful he is always linked to other jobs. That’s how they move onwards. I would be worried if BR wasn’t getting linked with anywhere else. He is a top manager who could go to almost any club in Europe. He has said he’s going nowhere so how will linking him to other jobs unsettle anyone?

Agree0 Disagree0

18 May 2018 23:21:33
That's not the point i'm making EDG, the point i'm making is that since BR has been with us, he's been linked to ;

Arsenal
Swansea
West Ham
Chelsea
Not sure if there's anymore, maybe i'm just being paranoid but it seems like the media want him away from Scottish football and back to ''the best league in the world''

Brendan95 you are right. He is linked with every job. That’s what happens when you are successful like Brendan is. The papers need to sell copies and Sky needs viewers. That’s why they say it so they get people to watch.

Just over 24 hours to go till kick off. Here is the Team I would go with:

Bain (assuming C. G doesn't make it)

Lustig
Ajer
Boyata
KT

Forrest
Nitcham
Rogic
Brown
McGregor

Dembelle

We all know it's going to be physical game so we must be at them right from the start. KT will have two pairs of shin guards on. They'll try and kick him off the park. But they won't succeed.

Browny will need to control the midfield. Which I'm sure he will and then make history as Club Captain to win back to back Trebles.

Going for a 2-0 Win with Dembelle and Rogic getting the Goals.
We Have Dreams And Songs To Sing. 🤞🤞🍀🍀.

I'd start Griffiths in this one, apart from that I'd go along with that team.

Agree0 Disagree1

18 May 2018 17:19:17
Sorry Steph but I don't get your thinking there. Dembele has scored 3 in the last 6 and Griffiths is just being eased back from a substantial lay off. Leigh will get the run out he deserves though I'm sure.

Catching up on posts this morning it donned on me that there's no bad line-up for us. Especially up top. But for me its always going to be mousse if he's fit.

Hope you all enjoy the final today. My first game was the 86 one: braw sunny day and maggie to boo at too. Little wonder I turned out to be a numpty, really.

Rogics the waltzing midfielder for me.

I wonder what is in Armstrongs mind. The one thing about this team that's very noticeable is they are a proper team. On and off the pitch they do seem to have a bond, watch any goal celebration, if i was Stuart i would be very careful of my choice of club.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

18 May 2018 08:21:00
Was thinking about his situation last night. I rate him very highly and would love him to stay long term but if BR is aware that he wants to play elsewhere he should be sold this summer. Others have signed up and it creates a feel good factor at the club. If SA does not want to be part of that then good luck to him. He has had some great moments in the hoops we will wish him well and move on.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 May 2018 08:37:34
Spot on mate. Unfortunately Armstrong doesn't have Celtic in his blood and unlike players who have joined and then taken the club into their heart (like Brown and Lustig) he probably has always seen Celtic as a stepping stone to a so called better league and doesn't express the same emotions as those two when celebrating. That may just be his demeanour though.

I hope I'm wrong and he signs on for a longer term but I feel he will be gone in the summer.

Happier that Rogic has signed in truth.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 May 2018 13:10:44
Armstrong will move. I hear its to Germany, read it somewhere last year but can't remember where? Think it was Bremen or Dortmund but may be way wrong? Rogic signed so over the moon. Think Dembele will still be with us but he needs to regain form. Hope we tie down Edouard. Need a sold centre back and a right back. Both difficult to find. I would be happy with that then clear out the ones we don't want but use the money to buy 3 class players not projects and we will be fine.

18 May 2018 13:36:19

18 May 2018 08:04:43
It's a wonderful feeling knowing some of our rising stars have committed their futures to the club. Not one had their heads turned by the megabucks on offer from the so called best league in the world. Others have left and within a year quickly realised that the grass isn't always greener, yes a better bank balance but you leave behind one of the world most historical clubs, the chance to run out at paradise wearing the iconic green and white hoops, a fanbase that will idolise you, the chance to win trophies and play in Europe. Celtic as a club has lots to offer. Let that fools down south be devoured in time by their own greed, even the biggest clubs down there have now become souless. There will be no way back for them when the tv money goes and they are asked to compete on a budget which demands they live within their means. We are decades ahead of them in that department. On and off the park we grow, long may it continue.

Hi Ed007, was thinking what was the reasons that Scotland had produced two top class full backs in recent years?

I was wondering if the reason was Danny McGrain, who himself was a world class full back?

As you know well, both Tierney and Robertson came through the youth ranks at Celtic. During which, Danny McGrain has been a coach at Celtic and no doubt would have passed on some of his wisdom to these youngsters,

Would be interested to hear your thoughts.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I doubt Robertson - who was let go at 14 - had much contact with Danny McGrain and since McGrain was promoted to first team coach when when KT was about 13 I don't see him having much to do with KT either until he broke into the first-team squad.}

18 May 2018 08:01:43
What worries me is that Robertson was let go. Surely the days of too small are over? Apparently the boy always looked like a player.

So the Thunder from Down Under he say yes. Two readings of this though. One, the delay was held up because he wanted a long deal, or two, there's a release for a certain club/ fee. Either way great business. A few more years or a hefty fee.

Now Green brigade, get him a song!

18 May 2018 11:25:56
GreenJedi. I was thinking a bit of both but didn't want to dampen the celebrations too much lol. If he can prove his fitness over a season, the club has tied down a fantastic talent. But, if he still harbours ambitions of playing elsewhere in the future and a club comes in for him, then the length of contract is a good bargaining tool for the club.
