Is it just me that thinks that even though we're grinding out results over the last couple of games, we're a wee bit off the boil from where we were a short time ago? Yes the points are what matter at the end of the day but we had been treated to some rather special football on the home front for quite a while and it appears to have slipped a bit.
I'm not complaining, the bhoys are giving everything. HH.

At the moment we are playing a lot of matches in quick succession, which means we have to make a few changes for each game which in turn affects the continuity of our play.
It looks to me as if the powers that be are determined to have every club having played the same number of games before the break in January, I can't for the life of me see why this matters, there are only 13 days of the year left, yet in that time we have to play 4 matches, we can't realistically play our strongest team in all these games, so performances are bound to suffer.
I don't know who this mid season break is supposed to benefit, but it's certainly not us supporters, who because of it, have to watch weaker teams being put out, as usual fans are the last people that are considered in these things.

I am both delighted and grateful that we have remained unbeaten - and have won so many games on the trot.
Between the demanding and draining CL schedule and the log-jam of December fixtures, I am absolutely convinced we would have struggled for such consistency in previous seasons with other managers.
Enormous credit must go to the manager and players and although we have faded a little in recent games, the points keep mounting up, while rivals are kept at a distance.
The team changes will affect consistency to a certain degree, but we are still creating plenty chances and just need to persevere until our injured players return and the players who are out of sorts, get back to top form.
I also think that the other sides in the league are so inconsistent, they will probably drop a lot more points along the way and if we can get back to keeping clean sheets, we will even increase our lead.
Not getting complacent, but this is the most confident I have felt about a Celtic side for many years.

I think our dip in performance is down to big players missing in recent weeks. Tierney Sinclair and Forrest and brown suspended has hindered consistency in selection and as a result performance. Hopefully they will be back on the boil soon.

Think its probably an effect of going out of europe, sort of a deflationary affect, like a hang over it will wear off, hope Brendanccomes to realise that LG and Dembelle have to play in the same team, only by playing consistently they will grow into a tremendous cpmbination, this will tell what dort of manager Brendan really id.

18 Dec 2016 22:49:00
We have played 12 to 20 more games than most teams aswell with European and cup games. I still think we are playing good we are just losing concentration at certain points in games usually towards the end. there hasn't been a game we weren't the better team but over all I am enjoying our team and performances.

Agree0 Disagree1

19 Dec 2016 07:23:36
Don't think Brendan will play both strikers.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2016 13:34:14
Why do the HAVE to play in the same team?
If you change to 2 upfront we need to lose something from midfield or defence.
We are winning games and scoring a fair amount of goals in this system.
To change it unnecessary would be daft in my opinion.

Agree2 Disagree0

19 Dec 2016 21:44:32
Celtic are looking soft centred and heavy legged in the central defence area, and the point about concentration has already been well made

Tomorrow night will be interesting as Patrick looked a handful against hearts ( albeit an uncertain unsure hearts ) !

Snodgrass is out of contract at the end of this season at Hull, I've always loved the guy especially that he's a Tim. ✊️🍀
In my heart, it'd be great but my head thinks can we afford his salary or do we actually need that type of player right now?

Believable0 Unbelievable5

18 Dec 2016 18:51:57
He's just not that good.

Agree4 Disagree0

18 Dec 2016 19:27:46
He's good enough for Scotland?
Maybe that's not good either 😜.

18 Dec 2016 20:12:32
Think snodgrass would do a great job if I'm being honest! Regular scorer in the EPL and for a struggling team! Bonus that he's a Tim. can't have enough players who understand what the club means to the supporters, but like I said I think he's a more than decent footballer first and foremost.

Agree3 Disagree2

18 Dec 2016 21:45:30
Where would he play and who would you leave out, he is older and no better than who we have already.

18 Dec 2016 22:29:38
wide left and leave out the 3 game wonder injury prone forrest.

Agree7 Disagree2

18 Dec 2016 22:52:30
He would be a average signing because he isn't better than we have unless we get rid of bitton he is injury prone but I wouldn't be upset if he signed.

Agree0 Disagree1

18 Dec 2016 22:59:55
I know the ed doesn't fancy Snodgrass as a Celtic player but I honestly think he would be a great signing for us and every time I have seen him play he has done well in a tougher league than we play in .

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2016 03:15:39
Hull have an option on him anyway, so I read. I just think he's far too slow for the wide berths in what we're trying to do. Down the middle? No thanks, we have Tommy Rogic. RS is having a good season but would be a pretty costly squad player/ free kick specialist, because that, plus his delivery, is pretty much all I think he'd bring.

19 Dec 2016 07:04:56
Snodgrass rejected a new contract.

Forrest having his best season in years and after watching gms on sat he's like jinky next hour him.

Agree0 Disagree5

19 Dec 2016 08:31:54
Marco, would the option for Hull to activate another year not be in RS's initial contract? Therefore it's entirely up to Hull?

18 Dec 2016 14:21:37
Any news on Tom Rogic? Hope it's not serious after all the ankle trouble he had before, we would miss him badly.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - He's due scans on his ankle but I'd assume they will need to wait on any swelling going down before they can do them.}

18 Dec 2016 23:37:27
I wonder what we'll go with on Tuesday whether it's having Griff or Christie behind Moussa or put Armstrong further forward with Bitton or Henderson beside Brown.

I thought yesterday's display was understandably a bit disjointed given no. of changes. Good to see Sinclair getting a run out and like Lennon before him you don't miss Broon until he's not playing. And Biton is a big girls blouse. Question time- predictions for Hogmanay game against the forces of darkness and evil in the asbestosdrome? I fancy 3-0 Celtic as I think especially with Sinclair, Forest and/ or Roberts there's too much pace in the team for the Huns back line. It will be a first for a lot of our players in terms of being an intimidating atmosphere though. There will be 40,000 screaming angry Huns well up for it 🍀.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

18 Dec 2016 15:34:51
It doesn't matter how many of em scream and shout that's just there universal language.

You hit the nail on the head to much pace in our team for them to handle.
Someone made a good point on here a day or so ago that we have goalscorers throughout the team.

I fancy 2 - 0 they will make a game of it but expect us to win.

@JFP1888 - the Hun's are gonnae get you! 1 - 0 to the Gers. Interception in our own box by the referee who plays a beautiful forward pass up to the MSSM who squares it to Miller who trips over his own feet and is awarded 2 penalties, one he scores the other he misses with the ref blowing the whistle for time up with only 74 minutes played.

UJ that scenario is your best chance of a victory and so you better hope something similar transpires

I will be coming for a draw (2-2) given your current form and our current injuries and deficiencies in conceding ( added to your 33 game unbeaten run at home ) PLUS it's your cup final and we are there to be knocked down ( or chopped down depending on your persuasion )

I expect an ugly bruising game and lots and lots of controversy but it's a score draw for me.

18 Dec 2016 20:20:46
Can't agree paradise. i would be genuinely shocked if we didn't come away from that dump with anything other than 3 points! And that's not the green tinted specs on. we are head and shoulders above that lot in every department! And a large percentage of that unbeaten home run was against diddy teams! If we can draw away to Man City and gladbach then there shouldn't any problems with the tribute act! So its win all day long for the champions, put them firmly in there place! There last 3 games have in no way changed my opinion on them. a team full of journey men and rejects who are many levels below where we are. i for one cannot wait to wipe the floor with them in there crumbling ruin of a so called stadium.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Dec 2016 21:07:29
Agree Lh86 got to be a win although paradise is also spot on it will be a bruising encounter but the players will be fully aware of that.
Current form generally has no impact on these games so no concerns that have one a couple games on the bounce.

18 Dec 2016 21:14:06
the thing about is its all true.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Dec 2016 21:43:06
Agree it will be a bruising match. but if we play to anything like the level we know we can then it's a win all day long. few wins for them and the delusion about closing the gap and we're far from unbeatable and all the other garbage there players and management spout! It's actually laughable! the champions will show once again what the pecking order in this country is on the 31st!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Dec 2016 22:28:32
@lh86 - but surely if the worse team in that CL group can get draws away from home then the Gers can win against a team that is currently off the boil, injuries etc?

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Dec 2016 23:13:46
@lh86 - 2 words, Red Imps. No one is unbeatable.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2016 00:10:38
My point is Union Jack is that we left Germany and England with points and if we can do that then playing a team who when we beat Partick 2morrow will be 14 points behind us having played a game more before Xmas is even here shouldn't be a problem! And u say currently off the boil, but I'm sure we've won 19 games out of 20 domestically this season! If that's off the boil I cannot wait for us to really get going lol. and I never said we were unbeatable! Of course anyone can get beat, and I mean anyone!

But if we do what we've been doing since the start of the season then there only one winner! And deep down u and the other deluded bears know it! And no amount of fighting talk from your players or management will change that! Because we now have a manager who will not let standards slip or levels drop!

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2016 00:55:08
Red imps and we still skelped your mob 5-1, that says more about your team than ours.

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Dec 2016 15:50:19
@tick67 - our season won't be defined how we perform against Celtic as we already know where we stand but a wee lucky win would give us bragging rights until the next fixture.
Our season will be defined by how we perform against the other sides in the top 6 and after a poor start I would say we have the beaten of them now especially with a Hun in charge of the Sheep and a rookie in charge of the mini Huns.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Dec 2016 17:18:28
Your right UJ except the season is defined by trophys and if memory serves me right were you guys not searching for your 55th title this year?

It's not even January mate there's still time for the sheep and mini huns to catch you 😀.

Rangers are 8 wins and 2 draws and 1 defeat and unbeaten at home in 33. Anyone who thinks this will be shooty in are disregarding plain facts

Respect the opponent

Perform to our optimum we win (IMVHO)
But there is a part of me that thinks it will be a slug fest and when that happens it becomes a question of luck, temperament, judgement etc

If we play the team opposite us we win
If we play the fixture, there is that concern that events overtake and we don't play our game on our terms

( referee will have a huge responsibility )
Early bookings for silliness and stern talkings to will help CFC but will the referee show up?

Views on yeserdays game, I thought going forward we looked very good. The front 5 worked hard and created chances which in other games could have put clear at half time Armstrong continues to please and Christie seemed to becoming a class player Griffiths and Rogic did what they do best score and create. GMS could have been more direct but otherwise good performance. The full backs were good going forward but suspect in defence. Biton was a concern for me lots of square passes little real influence in attack, I know he scored but lots of players could have been more productive. It was his misplaced pass that lead to Shevi was posted missing for the goal. I know lots of you love Shevi but he is slow perhaps he could move forward into midfield for europe and provide the extra cover we require for the top teams.
