Well i enjoyed that! Decent game, lovely weather and a great day out, result apart.Fair play to County for getting their game plan spot on.defending deep and breaking fast is a good tactic, problem is you will tire as the game progresses.Heard on the radio,Wishart and Dalziel claiming they thought County deserved the win.Not for me.They scored a worldy and blazed a shot from thirty yards on to the bar, from what i saw that was it.
Celtic on the other hand hit the wood twice forced two decent saves from the keeper and generally were at it the whole second half.I dont want to mention the penalty,i though it was one,as TV may prove me wrong. Some minor niggles for me were,Sammi looked tired and we should have started with young Watt, his movement is good,he shows up and the first thing on his mind is getting a shot off.Victor has to stop coughing up possession so easily as it will cost us sometime, and we still seem to have a problem with early starts. All in all i felt we showed a real spirit not to give it up,always heartening, even though you could see we were leggy.
Recovery time for tuesday will,i think, cause us problems and lenny has to be clever with his team selection and use of subs.I thought the support were excellent in the fact they never gave up backing the team, but we really need to stop the stupid ancient chants. There is no need or place for this at Celtic games and as long as it goes on it is a stick to beat us with.Give it up..............green jhedi

GJ...it always cracks me up when they say 'deserve a win'. You only win in football if you score more goals. If Ross County wanted to make sure they beat Celtic, same with Aberdeen in the opening game...then come out and score goals galore. Yes we were lucky against Aberdeen but if they wanted points from that games then they should have at least made an attempt at goal.

Yesterday we had 19 shots at goal to Ross County's 7.

Aberdeen had 5 shots to our 9

Was sitting thinking about since rvp has went to Man utd what every one including u ed007 about getting powell on loan? What would our chances?is he someone who we would want?

Brian {Ed007's Note - Powell is more of an attacking CM Brian, or playing off of a main striker 'in the hole' and RVP is an out and out striker. AF has said Powell is expected to get plenty of game-time at OT this year so I can't see him going out on loan. He is a fantastic prospect Brian and should go on to great things, he would be sensational up here and precisely the type of player that would give our MF more creativity.}

From Paul McConville's blog -

Albion Rovers will refuse to take the field in any Champions League Finals they qualify for, as they believe that the Champions League should only be for the champions of the country, and not the teams who finshed 2nd, 3rd or 4th.

Shamrock I know you are a betting man, saw your posts re bets on Sevco last night. Until bookies wise up go big on the Handicap betting. Today with Hills sevco were 15/8 -3 goals, I lumped on £80 and won £150 so Mrs T says thanks to big Mcculloch for her next night out.... Timalloy
PS I do not usually bet that much on one game but thought odds were just
too good to miss.
PPS dont worry after my visit to Ibrokes today I showered and meticously cleaned myself before coming on here.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

I'm a betting man myself love a punt but I can honestly say I've never bet them in my life and never will . The reason is if you bet them then you want them to win which I never will......DH

Agree2 Disagree0

Dh it's about winning money, i hate it every time they win , i don't feel just as bad if i get e few bob out of it.. it was obvious they would beat the shire , was just a question of by how many. i got that wrong and lost £30. so now i feel worse so it works both ways. dh i should also say i have never ever backed them against celtic. that would be wrong! ps well done tim ,great returns and i'm sure the night out will be very nice especially as it comes from them in a way. shamrock

Not a bad result today considering injuries etc . There will be improvement as time goes on and I think we should go into CL game with confidence . One thing that did really bug me today was that excuse for a commentary team on ESPN . Craigan talks like somebody possessed on helium and Rae had Ross Co playing like Real Madrid . Craigan : " Kayal goes down too easy for me " . You would say that knowing what team you support . Thank God it's 3 months free.....DH

mourning depressed newco fans have ran out of tablets, their still clasping at straws,on the radio begging for someone to tell them their the same team, haha bri67

Believable4 Unbelievable4

The TV and Radio networks are giving too much air time to Newco. On Snyde there were reports from Ibrox all day. Pity we have to fork out for this. I would rather have better reporting on the 1st Division. Morton Fan

Why do we always struggle up in the highlands, we were second to every ball I thought.Ross county wanted it more than us WHY ?

The result and performance says it all. What a waste of money. Overpaid hustlers all around. Sadly the EPL will probably give a show and then we wonder why we cant draw crowds. I amin Singapore right now and everyone is talking about the EPL

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Aye talking about how much money clubs like Liverpool and qpr have spent yet both are getting humped.
Settle down , we played poor minus some key players and got a point

Reasonably pleased with todays result.
Well done to Ross County, scored a unstoppable goal.
If there is 1 thing I take from todays game is we must give Tony Watt more game time.
Everything we did today that was positive after he came on went through him and he hits the target .
I a big fan of Rhodes but I not payin 6 million for him when we got the likes of Watt waiting in the wings.
Tuesday is much mors important.
Rayman

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Watt has shown more direct appetite and drive than those in line before him, the boy is ready now, time to throw him in, more game time needed, sammi up front offers nothing, commons up front not the answer, we looked far faster when watt came on, give him game time Lenny,
Ps well done county for being so organised, great addition to spl

Ska bhoy

Agree2 Disagree2

Tony Watt has shown time and again he is hungry for goal. He deserves a shot ahead of Sammi & Stokes. Sammi should have been hooked at half time, just didn't look interested at all. Commons will have to learn to look for the next pass rather than just shoot all the time. We got out of jail today with that performance, Helsingborg will not be easy. On the bright side, Kayal looks like he's getting back on form, and Adam Matthews does some bombing up and down the wing. We can only get better after today.

BigRab

Agree1 Disagree1

I would be shocked if we spent £6m on a CB & CF never mind one players but you never know. They must have a plan and something/one in mind.

I would like to see more of Tony Watt, he defo knows where the goal is and more hungry. Sammy I would never play up front on his own, I prefer him on the wing.

Suppose without a recognised striker on the park and Ross County were always up for this and have an unbeaten record to protect..its far from the end of the world. Mrs E

deserved not a lot today.. ross goal you cant argue with that .. great shot ! i just wish newco had taken their referees with them.. how thonpson couldn't give a penalty for the foul against big sammy is beyond me.. but anyhoo we were bad today. well done ross county.. shamrock

No chance Celtic will beat Helsingborgs. look terrible today. Lustig and Samaras are paticularly awful. 10 million plus for Wanyama, don't make me laugh. No way he would get in Man utd's or Arsenals team, nowhere near good enough.

Believable5 Unbelievable4

Thats why they are still at Parkhead. They are good but a few more results like today and they will be picked up for a song. Chance to show their talent and they blew it. Homegrown is the way to go and to be honest, RFC will have an edge on thisas they are forced into it

Agree3 Disagree6

Because of one game?get a grip

Home grown the way to go, r u for real? Dead club had every chance to go down that correct route and instead have brought in a bunch of mercenaries at huge expense to win a diddy 4th tier. Stevo Dundee
