As ED007 and all the regulars on here know I hate Atletico Madrid with a passion ever since they kicked wee Jinky and all our players all over the park in a european game, but I am putting my hostilities aside in the hope they PUMP Leicester tonight.
We are all Claudio Ranieri.

Totally agree Tim. I watched their amazing campaign last year as if I was a Leicester fan. After the disgusting treatment of Claudio Ranieri they deserve all they get. Never mind a chance this season, that man should have been given a statue outside for what he achieved!

I wanted Atletico regardless, I just don't have any time for the arrogant money grabbing EPL clubs.
Regarding Ranieri, it's easy for us to say that he should never have been sacked, but Leicesters results since have shown that it was probably the correct decision. As good as last season was for them there was a real possibility that they could have been relegated.
If we had been in their position, with the amount of money at stake, would we not have wanted our board to take some decisive action.

{Ed007's Note - There was a campaign behind the scenes to get rid of Ranieri, Gerry, I don't know the ins and outs of it but I've seen the English Eds talking about it and the current manager and a lot of their 'big' players don't come out of it well.
And again I don't know the ins and outs but something's always felt not quite right about the whole fairytale to me but in saying that I don't buy into any of the conspiracies surrounding it.}

I'll support anyone over an English team! Who was it that says the EPL is the best in the world 😱😱😂.

personally, I believe the players should hang their heads in shame as they stopped trying for the man who certainly increased a few salaries and gave them fame they will never repeat.

ED, I think very few mangers can survive these days if the players decide they won't play for him.
It happened with Mourinho last season at Chelsea, where after winning the league the season before, somehow became unpopular with the players and lost his job.
It's now happening at Arsenal, where despite Wenger being there for 20 odd years, players who have only been there for 5 minutes have decided they don't want to play for him.
Managers are only that in name only these days in my opinion, once players decide they've had enough of him there is usually only one outcome.

Did Danny Simpson not come out and say they lost faith when ranieri swapped the chicken burgers and spiced wedges for sweet potato and chicken fillets in the players lunch
Sure I read that on BBC.

Looking forward to this weekend's semi-final I am 100% positive that recent events will do us no harm. There is nothing like the feeling of getting wronged (or more accurately cheated) to galvanise a team. I'm sure this game can't come quick enough for the players.

Across the city the cockiness and bravado has reached stratospheric levels.

@Jeremy yes my ex bear pals are the same, they actually think Brother Pedro has turned them into world beaters, wait until Sunday when they come crashing down.
Did you win anything on the Irish National, ED023 was in good form again.

Exactly Tim. The Aberdeen win aside they have only done what would be expected. All of a sudden Danny Wilson is Franco Baresi and Beerman is Guiseppe Bergomi (two from the archives for our older readers) .

The hacks have went into full overdrive about the 'feelgood factor' being back. They are wheeling out every ex-player willing to give an interview in exchange for 20 quid to top their electric. Best club in the world my hole. They are a skidmark on the gusset of football's y-fronts. We are going to the final and they will go back into hiding.

Didn't get a chance to get a bet on the Irish National mate. I was busy with work. I see the Ed cleaned up again. He's on fire. That tip he got was also a belter.

After being made to eat my words after the last time we played them, and this being a cup tie, I'd take us scraping through now. You're only as good as your next game though and we're still the better side.

JimTim we didn't turn up the last day. I can't see it happening again. The treble is within touching distance and I am confident we will be on form.

What we do know is that we are head and shoulders above them in every department. They waxed lyrical about pulling off a draw last time. It shows you how far they have fallen if that is the measure of success. Don't buy into the bluster.

This invincibles tag is killing us, we have been so poor lately it's unreal and it can only be the pressure of going the season unbeaten.

Our results at Hampden with our current form has me worried that another poor performance and shocking result is on the way.

Kev we are 2/ 5 and they are 11/ 2. The only people expecting a shock is their support. I don't mind sticking my neck on the line. I think we will win by two clear goals.

Don't think the unbeaten record is 'killing us' although we have certainly gone off the boil in recent weeks.
The remarkably high standards we have set and the style of football we have developed is virtually impossible to maintain for a whole season and even when we are under par, we are still usually streets ahead of any opponent.
The injuries to strikers and the defensive lapses have lost us a few points - but we have enough skill and motivation to make this a very memorable season indeed.
