How about omer damari for a striker? Plays for hapoel tel aviv, banged in 24 goals in 34 games this season. Probably would get him at a low transfer fee

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would like him head to celtic but I would also like us to sign another striker like hosiner or assombalonga to play alongside him.

Well done Athletico Madrid thoroughly deserved la liga winners . Hope they do double over Real next week

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think it's a great achievement considering they have no world class players among them.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I wouldn't say that BB, players like Diego Costa and Adrian Lopez could play for any team in the world IMO but again it does show the difference a good manager/coach can make.}

Uruguay are a nice outside shout for the WC. Suarez, cavani and forlan up front, midfield mostly play in the italian league, and three defenders play for athletico madrid. Must be worth a pound or two- price will be inflated because they are in Englands group too. Currently 30/. :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Uruguay will be hard to beat, don't see them winning tho, argentina for me.

Murat Yakin will be leaving Basel at the end of the season. Hopefully he is on the board's radar IF we will be looking for NL's replacement.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I will cry with happiness if he is our manager next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi ed don't know much about Murat but his brother Hakan what a player he was, thinking back I think we were after him a few years back, but may be wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - No, you're spot on mate. MON tried to sign him around 2002 I think it was just after Basel knocked us out of the CL.}

Had a Hakan Yakin jersey, got it in Turkey of all places quite a few years back. I'd say 15_18 years ago , can't think what ever posessed me to buy it .Did he ever play for a Turkish side?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The only time Yakin played in Turkey was 2 games during a loan spell at Galatasaray in 2005. He is off Turkish parents but was born in Switzerland and chose to play for the Swiss national team.
Hakin Yakan only retired at the end of season 2012/13 at the age of 36 and he is now a youth coach at Swiss club Zug 94. The last team he played with was AC Bellinzona in Switzerland. That club were liquidated and ceased to exist in 2013 after it declared bankruptcy although youth teams were allowed to continue playing.}

Oh! Can youth teams continue after the club is Liquidised . That's a good idea.

If its from the list you've made bilic think he'd give the place a good shake up

Agree0 Disagree0

I would like moyes but would like magath from fulham but in all honesty don't see lennon leavin

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take Slaven Bilic in a heartbeat but he is on about £1.5 million a season at Besiktas and there is no way the current board would sanction that kind of spend on a manager.

Fink would also do a good job, he had a good record at Basel and worked under Trapattoni at Salzburg although his time at Hamburg was a bit of a disaster I don't think anyone could have succeeded there with all the problems there.

Felix Magath is a good shout Gordy but at his age I don't think it would be a long term thing it would certainly freshen things up. I would prefer a younger manager to come in and lay the foundations to drag the whole club up a level and begin a Dynasty of Domination on the domestic front. I firmly believe we have a great chance to make Celtic the dominant force in Scotland for the next 15-20 years and we don't want to drop the ball like we have in the past (Fletcher from Hibs).

I would love to see our team in say 6/8 years to be made up mostly of quality players we have produced ourselves with a few high quality players bought in to add the extra spark, model ourselves on clubs like Ajax, Dortmund and Juventus.

We have all the components in place except someone to oversee the progress. The fans need something on the footballing side to grab their attention, look at the difference in Liverpool since Rodgers took over and the fans bought into his vision and plans, imagine the difference at Celtic Park if we had installed Rodgers and were watching his brand of football week in and week out, the crowds wouldn't have nosedived that's for sure.

I don't think Neil Lennon knows himself what his plans or vision are, and if the manager doesn't know how can you expect fans to buy into it? There's no set tactics or style of play and it seems to change game by game. We need a manager who has a footballing philosophy becoming Celtic Football Club and the cavalier style that used to be our trademark throughout our illustrious 126 year unbroken history.

The late, great Tommy Burns, God bless him, understood it perfectly. His team played some of the best football I have ever seen at Celtic park in my lifetime and I have no doubts that if he had been given more time he would have succeeded and the club would still be reaping the benefits of the foundations he laid down 20 years ago.

An excellent summary Che.

Hail Hail

Thorsten fink mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with you che mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Much as I like the job, that Rodgers has started at Liverpool, he hasn't actually won anything yet . Tommie Burns spent many years here as manager, and although we all loved his style of football, he didn't win much . We can all dream about beautiful football but we really want to be winning too.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You can't really class 3 years as many, please don't even try to suggest NL is a better manager than Brendan Rodgers and that pains me no end to give any praise to Liverpool.}

But NL's Celtic beat BR's Liverpool last summer Ed, just like he beat Barça. Therefore he's the greatest ever Celtic manager lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes was a complete disaster at UTD this season now over. He spent money badly, he played terrible tactics and certainly didn't get the best out of his players. I think his nerves and self believe would have been shattered and I wouldn't want him near Celtic Park until he has restored his confidence somewhere .

Must be unique for a football governing body to subidise a TV network to show matches not even in their jurisdiction, if I'm reading the Celtic Research tweets right?.
Surely that 200k given to BT would have been better spent on member clubs?.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Don't forget Doncastor was worried about major outbreaks of civil disorder in the Govan area. The poor man would have done anything to preserve World Peace .

Agree0 Disagree0

And our very own Lawwell what was his excuse?

Agree0 Disagree0

He went out of the room whenever the dead club was mentioned . Or so he said he would .

Agree0 Disagree0

In other words he ask for a basin of water, a bar of soap, and a towel .
