We used to get folk moaning when we got beat then we got folk moaning when we drew now we get folk moaning when we win, c'mon Celtic we need to be winning by 4 or 5 every week and win every trophy going or you will be feeling the wrath of the laptop warriors. God help us when we don't win a treble . This is the most enjoyable time in my lifetime of being a Celtic fan and I'm 50 so try just enjoying this wonderful domestic run we're on, heading for a treble treble winning 25 cup ties iar and on the way to 10 iar.

Good post; it's true we are on the verge of making history, but the turbulent events of the past few weeks have upset and angered both the players and the support and we are all feeling edgy.

Today, it looked very much like we were heading for our second goalless game in a row and playing well below par. However, just like at Tynecastle (and Rugby Park recently) , we pulled it out the fire in the dying stages of injury time and the players must be given enormous credit and congratulations for the determination, effort and will to win, by coming through this difficult, clearly not at their best, for obvious reasons - but going 10 pts clear.

Now it's the damned International break - followed by a chance to get this distraction and frustration further out of our system with a game in two weeks time, that takes care of itself.
The atmosphere, gulf in class and determination will prevail.

I don't think any of us are disappointed at yesterday's result. We won and got 3 points and we're 10 points clear. That's what we set out to do however our recent form has been patchy and even though the last minute winners are welcome they are wrapped up in a big parcel called 'a bit of good luck'. The parcel probably also has labels on it saying 'resilience', 'determination' and 'that's what champions do' however there is certainly a bit of unease at how we have been relying on late winners. They won't always go our way. HH.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Mar 2019 11:57:40
Agree with most of what you say Bob except for the part about "good luck" as I think you make your own luck. It's true we are not playing at our best and had difficulty breaking down an eleven man defence. I think we miss Rogic or someone who can split the defence and open the door with a sublime pass but is it luck that door eventually crumbles becaause it has been battered so much. It is true that sometimes you can run out of time and "the luck" doesn't come so thank God we have a team that plays to the death and doesn't settle for a draw. Speaking of luck, was it luck that denied us an obvious penalty.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Mar 2019 12:49:12
Personally I'l take any win, but prefer game tied up early doors. A win is a win at end of day.

Also other teams defend deep and are set up so midfield drops back anytime we break. Makes it more difficult.

Lennon is an easy target for the gob persons, but have no doubt he"ll put his head on the block every time for Celtic .

Ed what's the split of home/ away games for us after the league split?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I've no idea mate but I'm sure someone will have worked it out....

17 Mar 2019 21:31:56
Not positive but think it’s huns and sheep away, and hibs hearts and Kilmarnock at home. i think but not 100%.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2019 21:42:33
Give the sheep 3 points in last game of season so they can pip the Sevies to 2nd spot😂😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2019 21:46:43
Lhs86 I’m sure it depends on how many home/ away games you’ve played before the split. For example if we’ve played more games at home than away it will mean we would play either Hibs, Hearts or Killie away for a third time however if we’ve played more away games then what you say would be correct. I just don’t know how many home or away games we will have played.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2019 22:00:04
Think u mite be rite mate, like I said I’m not 100 percent sure. the only cert is we’ll be away at the asbestos dome in one of them lol!

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2019 22:47:57
We will have only 2 home games after the split, with 1 probably the last game of the season, so we can collect the league trophy.
Home ties will be Hearts and Killie.
Away games will be sevco Aberdeen and Hibs.
Works out perfect for once and means we won't visit the same ground for a third time.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Mar 2019 00:39:35
I'm sure we've got Sevco and Aberdeen as part of 3 away games and 2 at home.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Mar 2019 01:08:43
We are already down to play Aberdeen away on April 14 on the clubs fixture list and another away game at Ibrox is a certainty, so we may be at home to Hibs, Hearts and Kilmarnock right enough?

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Mar 2019 07:45:17
OAB that’s the semi final.
First game after the split is Easter weekend the following week.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Mar 2019 09:01:38
When the league splits we will have played 17 home and 16 away games. Therefore we will have 3 away and 2 home games left.

So far we have played hibs, Aberdeen and newco twice at home and once away and both hearts and Kilmarnock twice away and once at home.

So after the break we will most likely play Aberdeen, hibs and newco rangers away and hearts and Kilmarnock at home.

Evening Friends! Was at the game today and it was one of the worst games of the season but still won and that's the main thing. At the game you see things that the tv don't and I must say I was disgusted by the way Darren O' Dea acted all game, he spent most of the game time wasting and on his arse! On another note I personally think some fans are over reacting to performances, the few games after Judas left were always going to be difficult after the abrupt way the management team left and changed hands. We are 10 points clear and going for a treble treble. Hope everyone has had a good weekend, HH.

I was also at the game today and I agree it was awful. I'm not putting any blame at Rodgers leaving for this as we are playing a team who I think will be relagated. What disappointed me was we are so flat and looked short on ideas but Lennon hibs teams usually looked so good to watch. Our squad should be superior to hibs so why have our performances been flat since Lennon came back?
I do think he will have enough to get us winning the league, I'm not sure about the cup but if I'm honest I don't think he is the man who should be in charge at the start of next season.

When did we last have a settled starting 11? How many players just coming back from lay offs? Try playing through two banks of 4&5 every week? What was man united score last night? You don’t have a divine right to win four or five every week or win at all as the mighty Man U found out. All the champions league brigade and their negativity? terrific 3 points today but this scoring in injury time isn't great for the team. we had 12 corners today and created hee haw from them even k miller got his head on at least 3 of them and cleared. we need to be clinical and skelp these teams. i know wee lenny is trying not to upset things just now but as soon as the title is won i want to see big changes in the style we play. that today was drivel. hh.

I've very critical of our set play for a number of years now we just seem to get it all wrong and you can count on the one hand how many goals we have scored from them this season I also believe we have struggled in Europe due to our lack of decent set play ability.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Mar 2019 17:41:01
Jaw I remember one time in paradise a corner in a European game was like a penalty! Place went nuts when wee got a corner with anticipation.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Mar 2019 19:07:35
Most teams can create excellent goal scoring chances from set pieces, but sadly we have had very little - to no success for far too long.
It really is unusual and unacceptable for a Celtic team that earns so many corners, free kicks and even a long throw - to be so wasteful.
It's really hard to believe that with so many International players at our disposal, we have so little impact and there is also a lack of front/ midfield men who can actually attack the ball in the air.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2019 19:19:54
Everyone just stands still on the penalty spot, marked and expecting a ball to land straight on their napper! Zero movement at set pieces and we start off way too deep in the box. Far too easy to defend.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2019 19:20:38
Greenock I totally agree it was our most powerful weapon in Europe and also throw into the mix guys like naka and mulgrew then free kicks anywhere in range was also like a penalty.

Lennon is doing a fine job given the carnage left behind by Rodgers departure. You could see Rodgers slow build up infecting that performance today. NL has done remarkably well to keep the wheels from falling off. He has not risked stability with a major overhaul of BRs imprint on the players. Plenty of new managers would have let their egos get in the way. NL understands exactly what is at stake.

Hope he gets it permanently as he has his heart and soul invested in our club. Oh, and he has proved himself a very capable manager in Europe.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

17 Mar 2019 16:04:34
We were terrible today . Lennons team now. Lennon tactics / direction nobody else's. but 3 pts none the less.

Agree0 Disagree1

17 Mar 2019 16:25:42
To be fair, Dundee’s set up was so defensive that instead of pressing our centre halves he was pressing our center kids. meaning 11 men behind the ball, all camped in the final third.

No excuses though. We struggled against them, and dare I say it, got a bit lucky.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2019 16:50:57
Carnage! Lennon has been handed an opportunity to be at the helm for a treble. Something he didn’t manage once.

Great player, decent manager but if he is the next permanent manager then it’s a severe backward step for Celtic. So lucky we had an 8 point lead and that Sevco are rotten.

Instead of rejoicing in our dominant position we will have a summer of rebuilding.

Rodgers was the best British manager out there, so only option is a foreign manger with some pedigree, who though? No idea to be honest.

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Mar 2019 17:12:05
Lennon, is not the man for the job, apart from 20 mins in the Hibs game we have been shockingly bad. Get Rose In and stop messing about.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Mar 2019 18:59:12
There have been shocking performances many times this season, this is still Brendan's team, will take them a while to play the way Lennon wants, still can't forgive Rodgers for playing McGregor at fullback at Ibrox, think he was coming to the end of his purple patch and got out when the going was good, there is obviously an anti Lennon clique on these pages, think he should be given a few more games untill you start slaughtering him,

Agree1 Disagree1

17 Mar 2019 20:51:18
Does anyone think that Lennon could be a first team coach to a manager or a number 2 to a high profile manager? He’d still make better money than managing a Hibs or similar. And as we know he loves the clubs but we have seen his ideas in the flesh and they weren’t ever ground breaking or scintillating. Lot of love for NL but he got lucky today and I’m worried that it’s a step down as apposed to up or even side ways.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2019 21:19:54
The departure of Rodgers was indeed carnage. The club was in meltdown off the park. Lennon came in and won two extremely difficult games that has completely steadied the ship.

3 away wins and a home draw with 1 goal conceded.

Those two victories gave Sevco absolutely no cause for optimism. They were critical wins that knocked the psychological stuffing out of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2019 21:36:37
Agree Aindoh 100% a bit more respect for Neil Lennon the man who played for us and who has come to our assistance in our hour of need selflessly without any concern about his own ego and motivated purely by a love of the club and a bit less respect for the man who departed us with no concern about Celtic who fed us lies and platitudes for three years might be in order. I also think discussing whether he’s up to the job and who his successor may be is disappointing and disrespectful while the man attempts to deliver a treble treble and ten in a row. Maybe we’re just becoming as shallow a support as the Huns. Anyway Happy St Pattrcks day Goodnight and God Bless. ☘️.

I'm prepared to take a lot of stick for this but his goal apart Edouard is an absolute waste of a jersey and a complete waste of money. This opinion is not just based on today's performance but for the while season to be honest.

I've said on previous threads he has really good attributes and have been waiting for him to kick in but his performances have been shocking and nowhere near worth the £9m we paid for him. Some will say his 97th minute winner makes up for it but not for me I want a lot more in 90 minutes. He looks like he needs a rocket up his arse to get going. I've stopped myself from posting this a few times hoping he would come good but today's performance tipped me over the edge.

In my opinion he is the most naturally gifted player in the league and we should count ourselves lucky to have him.

It’s all about opinions Bhoys and I knew mine would not be a popular one but I stand by it. Ask yourself this apart from the Aberdeen game where he came on and made the difference, how many games this season can you say Edouard was fantastic today? I can’t recall one game. Don’t get me wrong he has contributed with goals and DRB I would expect him as no 1 striker to be our top scorer. I’ve not written the bhoy off but I expect a hell of a lot more from him.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2019 16:34:54
Exactly drb. I'd like to see him and bayo up front together, maybe when the leagues wrapped up lenny will tinker with the team. He's right to just keep it going for now.

I wouldn't ever write the Bhoy off but I don't think he can play up front himself he needs a partner an maybe bayou will be the answer definitely not his best day today though.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2019 16:54:49
Utter nonsense. Considering circumstances of lengthy injuries, club not replacing Dembele and Griffiths on the sick (resulting in nobody to partner up front) he has done well.

He is still only 20 and developing.

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Mar 2019 16:58:48
You've nailed your colours to the mast there Ice Man so fair play for tht however he's a quality young player. I agree with Mally in that he looks better coming in from the left/ deeper positions - just look at his goal again today. It was pretty clear Rodgers had the intention of playing Edouard with Dembele and what a partnership that would have been. As Buster says his goals to minute is very good at 106. Certainly not a player I thought would come under criticism given his age.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2019 18:26:34

If Lennon is installed permanently next season, prepare for a serious lowering of the professional standards set at the club. Prepare for our players to be less fit and less organised. I really hope the board don't take the cheap 'Celticy' option. We need a proper coach, one who'll demand the standards set over the last 3 years.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

17 Mar 2019 08:43:07

There's no denying the standards (fitness, attitude, consistency and confidence) took a giant leap after RD left - they had to.
However, John Kennedy has worked (and learned) under 3-4 different managers and I'm sure he will help maintain standards as will SB.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Mar 2019 09:46:26
JohnT there is no doubt Roland Rodgers brought a professionalism to Parkhead that was needed but I think your fears and predictions of Celtic’s demise and kebabs all round now being the order of the day are grossly over stated and exaggerated. Celtic existed 128 years before RR arrived and I’m sure we’ll survive his departure and move on. Lennon and Kennedy are bright enough and humble enough to keep the best of what Roland in un questionably brought to Celtic. Bright and humble incidentally being two characteristics which the departing manager sadly lacked. Damien’s Duffs comments that Roland gave Scotland the best football ever seen here are laughable. He obviously didn’t ask anybody who’d watched the world famous Glasgow Celtic play under either Mr Stein or Tommy Burns. Additionally he conveniently omitting to mention some of the heaviest defeats suffered in Europe in our history during his tenure. Roland’s BRexit will have significantly less impact and is much less of a concern I’d suggest that the political version. Lennon brings much that RR sadly lacks namely honesty, integrity and passion for the club which should not be underestimated.
