Well just incase complacency was setting in for tomorrows game tonight's game shows that even if you have the better team on paper it does not always work out that way. Alloa must be so embarrassed 😊.

The gift that just keeps giving fab1

Ed, you know how a few weeks ago a said what a stupid idea that the spfl championship where 4th had to play 3rd before they have to play second BEFORE the play-off

Well a have had a change of heart mate pmsl a now think who thought of that system is a GENIUS the bile get beat at Easter Rd on Sunday they are NINE points behind hibs with 8 games left and two of them are against Hearts

Imagine a treble and the bile don't make it back does that count as a quadruple folks? :-)

Mr Mc Call hasn't lost a game yet during his Sevco reign .
I believe he has never won at Ibrox either, years after dumbing the 'Well team down when playing at Ibrox, he cannot change the habit of a lifetime .

Half Pint mate you to feel sorry for the Sevco Sufferer's they are not very bright mate to finish FOURTH all they really need to do is "park the bus"

I remember last December and January very helpful Celtic posters on forums were reminding us that Celtic had won nothing yet. Now that Deila's team has won the first competition that Celtic could win this season I suppose we can look forward to those posters congratulations to Deila and his players

Chris02, do you ever post anything positive pal, I said I would judge ronny @ the end of the season, and while iam really impressed so far, the season ain't over yet.

Dabhoybhoy, obviously either you haven't read my posts or you don't understand the term " positive " .

Positive = constructive, optimistic, confident, not words I'd use to describe some of your posts.

18 Mar 2015 10:40:10
Chris you're criticising people whobwere stating a fact?

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Mar 2015 16:15:05
JimJim I don't understand your point what is " whobwere" .
I would imagine that after reading several posts praising Deila in Dec or Jan . For a bright spark to point out Deila hadn't won anything yet, would be exactly the type of post that a very negative Celtic poster woulfd make.
Every idiot knows that you can't win anything as a scottish SPL team before Christmas, but what you can do is lose one or two trophies, The normal Celtic fan was giving praise for Deila going in the right direction.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Mar 2015 05:36:00
Then i'm just as unsure what "woulfd" means. Pulling me up on typos, really? You're criticising people for stating a fact. Simple. No harm in people waiting til RD has actually won something before giving credit. You're strangely good at always going on about positivity whilst remaining such a negative Nancy.

Jim Jim, is yor wife called Nancy . Nancy is one lucky woman having you as a huband . How many times does Nancy call you for dinner, I am only asking as I am a bit deaf and my wife has to call me about 3 times . It would be a bit much if Nancy had to do the same for you, Jim x 6 .

Is it just me or is Jackie MacNamara fast becoming the Arsene Wenger of scottish football? I used to have a lot of respect for him but his constant mouthing off in the press and defence of his players is beyond laughable.

Latest is that Dillon was "unlucky", yes not to break Izzy's leg. Also saying Ciftci will be targeted in the game tomorrow night. This is the same guy who has been at Hampden twice this month to defend violent conduct charges.

Need to go out tomorrow night and play them off the park.

17 Mar 2015 15:20:11
I like Jackie but I was dissapointed in his post match comments. If roles were reversed and RD had made those comments he would have been accused of sour grapes and not giving the winners any credit. As was pointed out by almost all the so called 'experts' the best team on the day won the cup end off! Jackie should have at least congratulated celtic for a win they deserved whatever he thought of certain refereeing decisions. Markie

I like wee Jackie, and have met him a couple of times and has been nothing but a gent.
His employer is Dundee utd, and nothing wrong with fighting your corner, and backing your players.

Jbhoy

Where in my post do I say that because he played for Celtic he should be on "our" side?

My point was that he seems to be talking a lot of rubbish in the press and in my book defending the indefensible. If a Celtic player had made that challenge on Sunday there is no way I or anyone on here could have defended him. Also talking about targeting players would you be happy with Delia come out with comments that other teams are out to wind up and get his players sent off? This happens to Broonie every week and he justs gets on with it.

Agree3 Disagree1

17 Mar 2015 17:52:43
Jackie has never been far away from a wee moaner. When he joined Celtic first, he acted as if he had already made it . It took Jackie Mac (senior ) to sit down and talk some sense in him, for Celtic to get the best out of him . I think he is crying wolf a little too often . I would like if he got his head down and becomes a top Scottish manager. In years to come we will need a new manager and nothing would make me happier than have Jackie Mac that man.

I wonder if I will live to see the day when Celtic get any credit for winning anything from people other than Celtic fans.
We outplayed Dundee United on Sunday, they barely had an effort on goal, Celtic could have scored 5 or 6, yet the only reason we won was because a 50-50 penalty shout went against United.
If the penalty had been awarded and scored, it would only have been an equaliser, I'm pretty sure Celtic would have gone on and won comfortably, we were by far the better side.
Teams would be better looking closer to home for excuses and try to raise their standards.

Niall,
Mate I wasn't having a dig or anything, just stating what I felt. I'll be honest I haven't read or heard McNamara s comments, as I just recovered from Sunday, and now a couple to many today.

Jackie is one of my mates good friend. He is a good all round guy, who is employed by Dundee United to do a job. See if the shoe was on the other foot and he was celtic manager, I bet there would be no complaints! Gee the guy a break!

Agree3 Disagree2

18 Mar 2015 00:08:31
Like I said if the shoe was on the other foot any celtic manager would be getting pelters for not giving the winners an ounce of credit and would have been accused of sour grapes. And if jackie wasnt your 'mate' you would would problably agree with that. But fair play to you for sticking up for your buddy. If it had been stuart mcall when he was at motherwell or Butcher when at Inverness and not a mate you might be agreeing with us DN. A wee bit of credit to celtic and his opposing manager before he moaned about the refs big decisions wouldn't have been to much profesional courtesy to ask. Todays he's telling the press that cifi was 'targeted' by celtic in the previous game, because of one hard Scott brown tackle. I personelly would love to knock a cricket score past them on wednesday. Markie

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Did you expect McNamara to be delighted at losing and start the sing song because he is an ex-player and supporter? Were you so critical of our previous manager for his conduct when we lost games, remember when we lost to Kilmarnock in the LC final? Off the top of my head NL never congratulated Kilmarnock and was given a touchline ban for his comments after that match. Did NL ever congratulate a team after they beat us and at that, why should he?
McNamara has said nothing wrong and he's probably right about Ciftci, why wouldn't our players target a hothead like Cifcti?}

18 Mar 2015 01:16:48
Markie, butcher came out and slaughtered his players at hibs and when he needed them they weren't there, and hibs were relegated.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Mar 2015 09:29:58
I did used to cringe quite a lot at some of our previous managers comments and lack of praise towards oposition performances actually. I don't think it would have taken to much to congratulate the opposition on a deserved cup win and stand by my point that if we had lost and RD had said what Jackie had said that the press and scottish football would have accused him of sour grapes and being a bad loser. it happened to our previous manager many times. And if jackie had been an ex sevco player managing UNT then the green tinted glasses would be coming of some of you and you would agree with me.markie. maybe not.

Markie, I don't really know myself, I'd just woke up on couch grumpy cause my good lady decided to turn off heating & open window on me.
I think I was trying to say he's got to back his players, and can't slag them.

17 Mar 2015 13:27:40
I just wanted to post my views on a couple of things Firstly, I bought a couple of papers on Monday, which I don't usually do, just to read about our cup victory and what do I read nothing but sour grapes vitriol from the Dundee United manager and 2 of his players blaming the referee, blaming VVD, blaming the Celtic players etc etc. I actually laughed out load at Dillon saying his tackle was not malicious but Van Dijk's 50/50 tackle was. Yes I know how our media slants things against Celtic but winning a cup and most stories are all negative, I despair. Then I read Celtic want Gerrard for a couple of months during the US soccer close season, if true, which I hope is not, why? we do not need an overage, overhyped player who is past his sell by date.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

17 Mar 2015 14:47:02
I am sure and hope that the story about Gerrard is just paper talk and nothing more . Surely as a club we have learnt from that mistake. I never get papers now not for 3 years for that reason

Agree4 Disagree0

17 Mar 2015 16:49:44
I also have not bought a 'newspaper' for many years as I will not contribute or subscribe to their garbage.
The TV stations were bad enough pushing the rugby and the Scotland squad ahead of the Celtic win - and it would have been even worse if Ginger McCall's mob had beaten Livvy haha.

Football forums are great fun all together . We can be sure that someone is gullible enough to quote some nonsense from the Newspapers . You know it's nonsense if its in the papers.

17 Mar 2015 20:44:29
@Tim I usually agree with most of your points but the dig at Gerrard is baffling mate. You may or may not like him but to call him overhyped and overaged is plain crazy. We can only dream of having a player of that calibre. he may not be as good as he once was but was Lubo at his peak when we got him at 33? Prob not. And to do a Timalloy bad joke what exactly does overaged mean lol?

18 Mar 2015 04:01:16
Gerard, great player on his day. I for one am sick of older washed-out EPL players coming to Celtic for a quick payday and expecting us to drop a player who wants to be part of our set-up. Yes, I agree about the experience and all that but we should be building a team that will stick with us for a few years at least. If Gerard comes in to play a few games then leaves, we get no funds when he goes but we do create some discontent with players who have remained. My take on it anyway.
Hail Hail.

18 Mar 2015 16:24:32
I agree with many who are against S Gerard been signed after a season in America .
If S. G was signed many parents would be put under more pressure than usual to buy his merchandise. Once again the ordinary working class parents would be lining the pockets of an ageing super star who no doubt would have his marketing rights secure in his contract .

Forrest is in the Scotland squad? Armstrong and gms aren't? Wtf has wee Gordon lost the plot? Or is he just pandering to the dark side by not wanting too many Celtic players in the squad. Even worse no Henderson in the u21 squad, he is by far the best talent in Scotland in that age group.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

17 Mar 2015 11:10:14
Fab this has been discussed below. WGS has no need to introduce Armstrong and GMS, they have not settled properly into our Team yet, although both are missed when they do not play. Aberdeen are not going away so I am glad they have not been picked and they can train and stay fit with RD making them better for our Team. Agree with Henderson though although I think he has a big part to play still, this season. Hail Hail

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Mar 2015 12:34:38
I put Celtic before Scotland (and any other national team) every time, especially when it's a friendly International at the 'business end of the season' - as they say.
It's important that our players stay injury free and as fresh as possible with all we have to play for.
GMS and Armstrong and especially Henderson are young and will no doubt be called up in the future many times.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Mar 2015 13:09:24
Don't get me wrong since john Kennedy lost his career in a meaningless friendly I would be happy if no Celtic players played in any international games but if it's about resting players surely it is the ideal games to rest brown ( we all know what he can do )and give two players who will have had nearly three weeks off a game, I don't buy that as a reason.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Mar 2015 17:16:02
I think it's just wee Gordon being stubborn because a lot of people have been speaking about them being included I think it's just his way of saying he's the manager and he picks the players he has done that in the past

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Mar 2015 01:15:11
I doubt if WGS is been stubborn . WGS will always pick the players who in the long term will get him results in the Qualifiers etc . He will not necessary pick his best 11to play against bit/ part countries but that is not because he is stubborn . He is likely to pick and not pick players from clubs who supply him most players in order to suit the club's needs and see other players for himself .

I'm abroad on work right now and like to keep abreast of what is going on back home. I check out all the papers online as it gives me some idea of what's happening. Opened up the ET website and lo and behold the major headline is "Eight arrested at the Scottish league cup final" I was shocked and stunned let me tell you. Then, when you read the report, it is a non-event. Police spokesman says "minor offences" WTF - never miss a chance to have a go do they? Helps deflect from the abysmal performance (once again) of the undead across the city.
