I don't mind either way regarding the Europa; as long as we retain our trophies at the end of the season.
One thing is almost certain though. We should have some of our injured players back to full fitness and a couple of quality signings when the tie comes around; so it's something to look forward to.

That quote reeks of entitlement. Hope you went through the bad days to appreciate what we have.

This is just a wee bit humour don't take it to serious troops. HH.

I wanted to see if we could have a positive post on site regarding the status of squad etc etc. Here is a summary of the actual facts.

1 point off top spot with 2 games in hand.
League Cup Trophy - Secured
v Valencia last 32 of Europa
Treble Treble still achievable

Emergence of Christie
Emergence of McGregor new position
Improvement of Forrest
Improvement of Boyata
Benkovic revelation
Improvement of KT

As with any good team we are only a couple of players away from being a relatively good team on our day to being a consistently good team. All teams go through transitions, with the number of games demanded of our squad, I think the most games of any league in Europe and beyond and they are expected to win them all, this is the expectation. Taking all this into account and what they have delivered to us the fans consistently is success in my opinion. Even after all this some are still not happy and offer knee jerk opinions based on one game.

Does anyone on here not think at the very least this season come the finish we will be Double Treble, Double Double winners.? I would prefer Treble Treble but either will still be continued success. Hail Hail.

1 game in hand.

{Ed007's Note - 2 on Kilmarnock who are directly above us.}

Think Young Christie is the biggest surprise 10kgs in weight added good example if you apply yourself and work hard you'll get rewarded.

Agree with most of post. Only slight worry all the positives were signed pre BR except Benko who was a loan we got on deadline day because we couldn’t get who BR wanted. Great coach, questionable signings.

17 Dec 2018 19:51:21
Benko was always one Rogers wanted.

When you look at our fixture list in December
Aberdeen cup final
Motherwell away
Kilmarnock home
Salzburg home
Hibs away
Motherwell home
Dundee home
Aberdeen away
Sevco away
Wasn't it likely we would lose somewhere among those fixtures.
A lot of these games would be hard enough with a week to prepare for them, but a lot of them are taking place barely 48 hours after the previous game, sooner or later that will have an effect.
I was disappointed with the result yesterday but I'm not sure that it was a total surprise.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Dec 2018 00:45:17
I think we’re all disappointed with dropping points yesterday and allowing Sevco to go top again. I think we will drop more between now and May but I have faith in BR and the team that we’ll win the league again. However 10 in a row is not guaranteed by any means as this league is developing right now, mainly due a good crop of very capable managers and the next couple of seasons could go down to the wire. If we do manage it, it’ll be an incredible achievement. In response to Kwaj, I completely agree. Like the rest of the teams, we’re building, and we’ve got an eye on Europe, even though they just keep making it harder for us. We shouldn’t panic every time we lose a game. We have a lot to be positive about.

I got the feeling that Rodgers wanted to make a point to the board, hence the team selection and players being played out of position on Sunday. Just hope it works and we strengthen in January.

18 Dec 2018 11:08:15
Maybe not be a positive this season and he will need to bulk up. Michael Johnson will be a player for us. Watched a lot of this boys development. Definitely a player.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Dec 2018 16:35:13
RodgersAtWork do you honestly believe Brendan Rodgers picked a weakened team at a difficult venue in the hope we could drop points just to send a message to the board . With the league being as competitive as it is at the moment, that for me would be a huge risk to take. oldkilly.

The guy has done amazing things even though he has Cerebral palsy.

How long does it take to get to valencia from benidorm? Is that the best/ cheapest way to do it. I really fancy it but it would need to be a great deal as I'm off to tenerife for a long weekend at the beginning of March.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Dec 2018 18:39:37
It takes about 2 hrs driving on the national road A7 or an hour and a half on the toll road AP7
The cheapest easiest way is by coach. Check out ALSA the coach company, their webpagehas an English page, about 25 euro . you can find 3 star hotel for 30 euro per night at that time of year. you can I think fly from Glasgow to Valencia direct, but the cheap and cheerful anywhere to Alicante us the easy option,

{Ed007's Note - It could have been worse but I'm happy enough with that and with Rodgers love of Spanish football he should know their tactics/style inside out.}

17 Dec 2018 12:33:11
Their performances so far this season in la liga have been really poor, but then again we are not rocking the world either, we have a Good Chance.

17 Dec 2018 12:45:22
I was expecting Chelsea or Arsenal or one of the other big names but I will take Valencia who are 14th in their league having won only 3 games but have drawn 10 games so will be difficult to break down. A decent first leg at Celtic Park will make all the difference, and a nice sunshine break for all our fans in February.

Was hoping for genk bhoys or Villarreal. Valencia imo are decent watched them admittedly against a poor utd at old Trafford and they passed them off the park.

Reading all the moaners on here after one bad result, yes we were garbage and it was hard to take anything positive from game and Rodgers too was at fault for setting up team wrong. Not an excuse but Europe takes it out the players, especially when we play top teams like Salzburg when players expend more energy and yes the Thursday/ Sunday thing has an effect also, but come on get behind the team guys.
A word to all the new posters on here, get a life, almost to a man you only come on here and to post negative comments, if you cannot be more positive and support Celtic then GET LOST. No one wants to listen to all your moaning.

Kev I almost waded in giving you a hand last night but thought what’s the point. Some fans need to get a grip. of course everyone is entitled to an opinion but some of what’s posted beggars belief. On course for a treble treble and b2b Europe after Xmas that’ll do me any day.

A degree of hun like entitlement me thinks.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Dec 2018 14:37:56
constructive criticism is one thing but overall sniping and moaning is pathetic.
My opinions on hard midweek games etc. have been noted many times but, in this case, we had too many players injured or ill and Hibs were up for the game.
Result over, we move on.

17 Dec 2018 16:10:35
I remember the days of Liam Brady Lou macari Wayne biggins Martin Hayes etc what we have just now is spoiling certain fans? It’s the champions league snobs in our support that are the panty wetters anything less than a 3.4.5-0 score line every week is rubbish. Barcelona Bayern real citeh can’t win every game as long as over the season we finish top dogs that will do me! We play a huge amount of games and fatigue mentally and physically must kick in sub consciously in the players? But in the big games we deliver. so get by December intact get a break and the push on again in 2019 and 8 in a row 🙂⚽️🍀🏆🏆🏆.

There is definitely an entitlement creeping in with the younger generation of fans. People who can't remember the old stadium or what we went through to get to this point.

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Dec 2018 18:30:33
Personally think it's healthy to debate current issues. As like many of you went through the bad times. To use that as a reason not to debate current issues is laughable.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Dec 2018 19:54:14
Not one person would not debate current issues.
We love debating and arguing our points of view.
What we won't do is act like wee weans and become hysterical every point dropped.

You said "People who can't remember the old stadium or what we went through to get to this point"

I'm lost what that's got to do with today's topics. Are people who didn't go through this not entitled to a opinion.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Dec 2018 21:08:04
No one said they were not entitled to an opinion.
What no Celtic fan is entitled to is thinking we are ENTITLED to win anywhere we go.
Thinking like that doesn't belong at Celtic.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Dec 2018 22:05:52
Read most of the comments on yesterday's events. Never seen anyone that said we should win anywhere we go. Seen a lot of unhappy punters with various views.

Supporters pay a lot of money following Celtic and are entitled to voice there opinion. Football is a emotional roller coaster.

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Dec 2018 22:28:56
Yesterday people wanted rid of half the team.
Just like when they wanted rid of McGregor Forrest ect
This team has went backward and it's not as good as ronnies team was said.
A team that has already won the 1st trophy of the year and qualified for Europe after Xmas for the second time.
Hysteria is a word I have used a few times because it's the only word I can think of but it describes it to a tee.
Every time wee drop a point it's like this.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - At least it puts up the hits on the site and live chat numbers - nothing gets the live chat going quite like us being a goal down or even drawing.}

18 Dec 2018 07:31:44
Aye well there is that ed 😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it is a bizarre phenomenon, on every site when a top team goes through a bad spell their sites get much higher amounts of page views and posts. People just love to complain I think!}

18 Dec 2018 14:26:36
Excellent post Timalloy. A lot of posters on here have to realise, BR is human, the players are human, sometimes they have bad days. Sometimes the opposition just play better. Sometimes they just are better, full stop. Most of all, supporting Celtic isn’t about winning. We don’t care if we win lose or draw. Some of my proudest moments watching Celtic were when we lost. Season 2002-2003 was my best ever season and we won nothing.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Dec 2018 06:52:21
Our recent away record at kilmarnock, motherwell hearts and hibs has been shocking.
In the last 13 months we have played at these venues a combined 11 times and won 1. (hearts 3-1 in may)
We have drawn 4 and lost 6 games.
Thats 7 points won and 26 points dropped.
We have been guilty at times of not showing enough respect and making as much as 7 changes which have came back to bite us.
