Weʼre raising money to buy toys for Hamilton Foodbank to distribute at Christmas to those that need their help.
-------------------------------------------------------

Usually us Ed's do a collection across all the sites for a chosen charity in the run up to Christmas, with Cancer Research and Alder Hey Children's Hospital being a couple of the places that we - and more importantly, you - previously donated too.
I originally intended just asking the lads on the Celtic page for help with this but when I asked Ed001 and Ed033's permission to do it, I'm delighted that they decided to adopt it as the cross sites charity this year.

The appeal will run until Monday December 11th (8 weeks) which should give the women time to buy the toys and the Foodbank people time to distribute them AND that means there's no rush for you to donate right now.

And if for whatever reason you can't donate anything, don't worry about it, there's no obligation or pressure just because you use the sites.

Please have a read HERE and if you can donate anything at all it would be really appreciated or if you have any questions just ask away.

There's also a pinned link to the donating page at the top of the pages.

Thanks for reading and hopefully we can make even a wee bit of a difference to a lot of kids this Christmas.

P.S. There's that Timalloy wanting to be centre of attention AGAIN and has to be in there first AGAIN. Tim made our very generous first donation. Cheers Tim.

We'll be due to do our annual clear out of the toys the kids don't use, some of them I'll guarantee aren't even opened yet. It normally goes to a charity shop but from now on ill take them down to the foodbank.

{Ed007's Note - Great idea, Steph (clap) E-mail your local Priest, they might be collecting stuff too and if not you've given him an idea.}

ED007 I have just had a Mr William Hill on the phone asking why I never placed my usual bet today lol.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's going to better use today, Tim, I'm sure even you'll agree with that. Thanks again, Tim, a brilliant gesture from you (yes)

17 Oct 2017 06:20:15
Wonderful gesture Ed I was working doing repairs in a church near me last year and was astounded by the amount of people that use foodbanks people I knew and went to school with and young mothers and kids really brought it home how lucky I was and that charity really should start at home. Better donating to a food bank rather than the usual charities where only a small percentage of your donations actually get to there intended target.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - donating direct is much better. I used to be very good friends with a guy who worked as a director of a number of different charities over the years. It paid to send all his children to expensive private schools, a nice house in the Cotswolds and a very nice nest egg for the future as well as giving him the opportunity to have the money to set up the shop/cafe he always wanted to run when he had enough. He left because he would run all those campaigns to raise money and he suddenly realised how much was going on his and other peoples' wages rather than to those who needed it. Donating directly to people who need it cuts out those big wage earners like him.}

17 Oct 2017 07:55:41
Had my eyes opened to that Ed it’s shameful stuff when people are donating in good faith there thinking the majority if not the full amount of there donation is going to there chosen cost when really a lot of it gets siphoned off to other things first! Excellent idea and great that everyone can contribute.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it is amazing how many charities have been blocked from fundraising in the past due to how little was going to causes and/or how much money they had locked away in investments, rather than being spent on the cause they fundraised for.}

Seen a report that the hoops are the first club in Europe to get half a million punters through the gates some achievement must be the brendan effect HH.

Thats what av read mate.

{Ed001's Note - Man Utd didn't have to go through qualifiers though, so surely that would make the difference in totals? I am assuming it is for this season alone you are talking about.}

Following on to the news that Celtic are interested in the Red Star Belgrade player Boakye, Chick Young has reported that some of the Sevco players have given him and the fans the "Boak" this season.

See the bawbag that is Charlie Nicholas having his weekly boot into the club! Apparently we've never recovered from the psg game! And here was me thinkin we won 3-0 away to anderlecht in our 2nd group match! Hate is a very strong word to use but I cannot stand the sight of this utter clown! Boils my blood that he got to wear the hoops by the way! An idiotic embarrassment of a guy!

17 Oct 2017 05:22:08
I agree wholeheartedly Lh. If he had never played for Celtic, I would put it down to bitterness, but he has no cause to feel such a way.
He definitely panders to his English colleagues and (mainly) English audience, but I just wish he would shut up - he never makes a valuable contribution, has to be derogatory at all costs to try and seem "in" with his mates and the consequence is that what comes out of his mouth is pure shite.
As you say, "not recovered from the defeat to PSG". just proves him to be a halfwit.

Andy I cannot stand to even look at the guy honestly! Really pisses me off when this clown is ever in the studio to cover our games at home, i wouldn't let the fa**y through the front door! Think one of the other posters put up a while back who do u not like that once played for the champs, well this clown wins hands down for me, and not like is putting it mildly! Tosser of a guy!

There is nothing like being prepared.
Heard that the call has gone out to all the sevconians to turn up at Ibrokes today with "strong rope and chains" to tether all the dodgy roofs down, just in case.
Although as everyone knows there is NOTHING WRONG with the roofs.

You have got to say well done to Aberdeen as they are looking strong. We have a very tough run of games coming up and st this early stage it's fair to say we are not at our best?

Believable3 Unbelievable2

It's great credit to Celtic as well for setting the pace and standards that keep Scottish football alive.
Even putting aside the record breaking unbeaten run - we have still managed a consistency of results despite injuries to key players since the season started, flying the flag on our own in Europe yet again and coping with huge squad disruptions and hinderence during international breaks.
Saturday was hard going and one or two are struggling for fitness and form and October will be our toughest test yet.

Hi Ed : I think the statement is very true, many a time you see VVD going forward with the ball and when he or the team loose the ball, VVD just strolls back, but that can be sorted with a better defence coach .

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he has had some very good coaches in his time, but it seems to be just the way he is, very laidback.}

17 Oct 2017 05:25:33
i'd take him back in a second peter, a traditional celtic ball playing player.
