Stokesy thought Elvis was talking about him as they got in the lift

so stokesy decked him as -

they can't get on together, with suspicious minds.

He shouldn't of done it in first place. You are all cracking jokes about it, but would be different if it was yourselves or someone you knew who stokes assaulted and to be fined that amount suggests that it was quite severe and he was lucky not to go to jail.

TTTS only reason your defending him is cause he is irish. We have exposed you about this before.

I don't try and hide my Irishness sir but you try very unsucessfully may i add to hide your anti irish leanings .

Well considering i come from an irish hertitage find that highly unlikely. Never knew it was compulsory for someone to turn a blind eye cause Stokes is Irish in order to be a Celtic supporter.

right dn30, if it was that bad he'd have gone to jail. Or are you saying money can buy freedom? Haha.

Well said DN30.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Feb 2017 23:16:02
Look at it this way, it was probably a jailable offence, but the Irish courts sometimes use a bit of sense, how would jailing Stokes help the victim?, whereas giving the victim s big wad of money is some recompense, and as Stokes has been an overpaid footballer for a long time, he can afford to pay the fine.

I forgot to post this yesterday, I saw Mr Robertson's online video about hiring a Head of Football but what caught my eye was the BICYCLE at his back, surely they have not taken his company car away lol.

What is Mark McGee's problem Last season he refused to shake Ronny's hand this season he total contempt by making out he does not know who Chris Davis is and now last night arguing and swearing at fans and remember this is the Scotland assistant as well he is a complete and utter embarrassment to our game and Motherwell fc should now act get rid.

Let's see you take abuse from a stranger with a camera phone and just stand there quietly and take it.

16 Feb 2017 10:41:31
His treatment of Chris Davis was complete and utter disrespect for a fellow professional was down to the fact that he is a silly little boy who throws tantrums if he does not get his own way
So he got what he deserved last night He's is now saying he is seeking legal advice what a complete person.

Fair point Kev, tempers get frayed at football but McGhee shows a very immature, petulant side to his character. He's been in football long enough to be able to deal with abuse from fans. The guy is a nugget.

Agree1 Disagree2

16 Feb 2017 11:36:51
He's shown a lack of class and respect, especially in the Chris Davies situation but last night I don't think he should have had to stand in amongst opposition fans and be insulted. I don't see how you can compare that to the previous examples, if anything the fact he got sent to the stand should be what you picked him up for. I wouldn't stand quietly and let someone swear at and insult me and neither would you so why would we expect Mark McGhee to do it?

Agree1 Disagree2

16 Feb 2017 13:39:05
mcghee is a bell end with his fake false accent and the chris davies stuff, but it doesn't say much for the sheep fans that was one of their gothenburg heroes they were abusing, i don't think we would have abused bertie auld or tommy gemmell when if they had to sit among our fans when they managed clubs against us.

Yer team is getting humped.
Ye disagree with the ref, then sent to the stand.
Ye get escorted up the stairs by the polis.
All the time some can't is filming on his mobile while he and the others round him are taking the proverbial hit and miss.
I think, if it was me, I would be slightly miffed and feel obliged to vent my feelings.

16 Feb 2017 13:56:20
No fan of McGee as he can be a real tube at times, but have a vague memory of WGS getting verbals in among the sheep a few years ago and the garbage NL had to contend with.

I accept it goes on every week and most managers just ignore it, but anywhere else outside a football stadium and they would be lifted and locked up. What do stewards actually get paid for - apart from singing in adverts?

Agree1 Disagree2

16 Feb 2017 15:24:41
Mark McGhee will always have a problem with whoever is Celtic manager because he isn't and never will be.

Story goes at Aberdeen he had a clause in his contract if club approached him he could talk to us.

watching CL football over the past two days whilst listening to the Aberdeen game i thought about past European performance and players.
Where would todays teams stand and what would you like to see scottish football achieve in Europe, this is my conclusion
Celtic and serco given the size of their support would think that a miniumum of February football was acceptable
Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs would want group stages of any european compitition.
The others would agree just being there in August an achievement.
It shows how far the standard of the spl has fallen and how far we have to go starting next year.
I also concluded that although Aberdeen scored seven tonight not 1 player would have made it into Sir Alex's Aberdeen team Whilst i think some of this Celtic side could have been knocking on the door of Sir Jocks teams.

Interesting. The current team v. Lisbon Lions point, I asked my dad when the unbeaten run was broken if any of this side would get in the Lions team. "No" was all I got. I then made the point that athletes now are faster, stronger and fitter, they don't have a fag at half time etc etc. He wasn't having any of it.

Agree0 Disagree3

16 Feb 2017 11:27:46
Funny that I had the same conversation with my dad to which he replied none of the Lisbon lions would get in today's team as the game has changed technically to much though he knew very well that was not my point. Just another perspective.

Agree0 Disagree2

16 Feb 2017 12:19:28
AG, somebody who has seen both teams in the flesh might be better qualified than myself, but I'd back the current side. Like you say the way the game has developed, the quick and short interchanges around the box, technically better players who are faster and stronger and can last longer, continuous high pressing and quick build up play. Would a team from the 60's cope with all that?

Agree0 Disagree1

16 Feb 2017 17:03:43
I think that if the Lisbon lions team had the same training methods and facilities that the current team have then they would be better.
This current team is the best I have seen for some years, but you have to remember that the standard of opposition in Scotland must be at an all time low. When we played in the Champions league we finished bottom of our group, and in the qualifiers it wasn't all plain sailing either, so we still have a way to go.
What I'm really impressed with this season is that the management and players always want to improve, it would be easy to accept that we're the best in Scotland and settle for that, but it's good to see that everyone at the club wants to go to a higher level, it's that kind of attitude that's been missing these last few years.
This season has been like a breath of fresh air, long may it continue.

The Lisbon Lions were a fantastic free running team, with a brilliant right wing triangle of Craig, Murdoch and Johnstone . The left side of Gemmell Auld and Hughes / Lennox relied more on their individual brilliance, shooting, accurate passing and running .
Of course nowadays we have a more structured team . Brenfdan talks about building the game but he does so by taking into account the special skills our players have . Many of our players frequently move to the right leaving extra space to be exploited by the outstanding pace of Tierney and Sinclair. This means space is at a premium for about the first hour down our rank flank and we have to try to pass our way through to get a position. Brendan is doing a great job and to me the winning of all domestic nine games in December and starting off again after the break winning non stop again . This is even better considering the number of changes he had to make, all players coming in knew their jobs and filled them well.

Agree1 Disagree1

18 Feb 2017 23:23:42
Back in the day, the domestic opposition was much superior to what it is today, today the team can carry luxury players like Biton, who look half decent playing in Scotland, but get shown up to be lazy, lacking and langruous, when up against the better European teams, think only about two of today's team would get in Steins team.
