To the banner carriers , Thats told them !
Celtic get fined this week by UEFA , so what do you bhoys in your infinate wisdom do ? shame ,embarass and get the club into even more bother , Celtic is a football club , not a platform for airing political or religious views , the only thing being hurt here is the good name and finances of the club you profess to love , Celtic are pissing against the wind financially compared to Europe's other big clubs , so paying fines for acts of stupidity is hardly the way ahead , the team have played well in Europe this season , but it will be remembered for other things , so well done bhoys , i hope it was worth it , we are now officially as bad as Rangers !

The best post I've read on here since wee pat posted lol. Only kidding mate well said. I just wish you would have put a name to your post. 75% of the fans that sing the political songs haven't been to NI or ROI and I'm talking about both sides of the old firm fans. Rangers and Celtic have been trying to rid of this from the late 90s. They will come a time in the near future that we will be rid of the political/sectarian songs at a football ground. Not so long ago it was everyone that sung the songs then the majority now it's the minority. It wot be long till its no one. Well here's hoping.
I dream of a team of Davie Weir's

Just off the M8 on the way out of Glasgow by any chance.

ED007 just to change the subject away from these dafties the GB. I know you follow Spanish Football we all were enthralled with El Classico last week but why in an 80,000 capacity ground were there only 800 Barca fans?
Do Spanish fans not travel for away games, or are they banned from grounds? Timalloy {Ed007's Note - The Spanish don't travel to away games really apart from Malaga(??) who have a large ex-pat community.}

so a guy was arrested at the game last night,apparently the idiot with the banner,and celtic are going to ban him for life.no way is one person to blame for this.round them all,up,take their season books from them,and give them to a charity group(getting back to our roots).and if the green brigade dont tow the line from now on,they wil lhave to be disbanded,which would be a pity,cause they really do generate a terrific atmosphere at the games,with the proper songs.

Neil Lennon has just been condeming the people that are tarnishing our club, good on him and PL., all decent Celtic fans need to do the same. We need to let them know, if its in the pub, online, whatever they have to be made aware that decent Celtic fans will not see the club dragged through the mud. They think they have a cause but haven't a clue, their knowledge garnered from rebel songs on a bus,train, or football ground. They need an education. As NL said the surprising thing was they got the spelling correct. I'm ragging, Celtic football club means so much to me, as it does to countless others, that's why i say we need to name shame and weed this cancer out of our club. Markiebhoy..

Agree1 Disagree2

Depths of stupidity doesn't cover it.. Can't believe they managed to get all the way over to Italy by themselves ! How can any true fan be this ignorant..I hope Celtic identify them soon & get rid - Mrs E

Agree3 Disagree2

Mrs E, it is time for all us decent fans to police the Green Brigade. What I mean is when we are at a match and they unfurl an offensive banner tell them to stop. I think now several things will happen. The majority of fans will turn against the GB if they tarnish Celtic Football Club. You will see more tighter scrutiny by police and stewards of the GB and I think they might even lose their favourite place at Parkhead. Timalloy

i am a rangers fan as yous already know i have just heard it was Tommy burns birthday it was a a sad day when he passed away i remember it well it was the day after rangers were in the uefa cup final and i woke up and my gran told me he passed away it was a big shock and a sad day for Scottish football R I P Tommy burns Andy goram broke your heart

campbell

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I just watched that song on YouTube you posted Ed I had a wee lump in my throat. I heard about Tommy Burns death on the way back up the road from Manchester. Me and my mate who is a Celtic supporter went up to parkhead that afternoon and I put down the Rangers top and flag I had at Manchester and they were Celtic fans clapping me when I done it. That brought a wee tear to my eye that day. My mate was gutted cause that was his hero growing up watching Celtic and he still says to this day that the football played under TB was the best he had seen I can't disagree with him either because some of it was amazing.
RIP TB
Followfollow81 {Ed007's Note - As Campbell said FF81, Andy Goram broke his heart. The football that CFC played under TB was brilliant to watch. Free flowing, attacking and entertaining. The way football should be played. I always said I would have liked to see him get another crack at the job, but sadly it wasn't to be.}

Agree4 Disagree0

The football we played under Tommy Burns was some of the best I've seen in all my years following the Hoops. I'm sure Ed can clarify but I think one season we went 40 odd games unbeaten, which is a great record. RIP Tommy Burns gone but never forgotten.
CB67 {Ed007's Note - I don't know off the top of my head the unbeaten run, but in the 1995/96 season we only lost one league game, eleven draws was too much though as Rangers amassed a then record 87 points.}

Agree1 Disagree0

CB67 one of the best goals I've seen from a Celtic player at Ibrox was Andres Thom. I'm sure it was the 3-3 game he scored in and one of the best saves I've seen was The Goalies one against Pierre Van Hooijdonk header in the same game. One of the most open games I've been to. End to end stuff. I love reminiscing. That's when you realise you are getting old 62yrs old in my next birthday.
FF81 {Ed007's Note - I didn't think you were THAT old mate ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you really 62yrs old FF81...you fair get about for an auld yin ! - Mrs E {Ed007's Note - I was quite shocked too Mrs E.}

I liked that one Ed lmao. I never added on my school years so that makes me 75yrs old on my next birthday lmao. You must get a great laugh changing posts Ed lol. I'm away good night everyone, Ed. ;-)
FF81 {Ed007's Note - I thought it would lighten the mood a bit mate, I couldn't resist it. Night.}

Agree0 Disagree0

No Mrs E I never added my school years. What do you think the 81 means when i tag my name? Lmao Ed ;-).

What is a IQ Ed? Is 81 good? Lol. Right that's me away now because I'm getting it from all angles. Just aswell I'm thicked skined lol. Night Ed take care :-)

just a wee message for the green brigade,go back to your bedrooms and come back when you have taken that chip off your shoulders and you feel that you can support the tic in a way that merits being a true celt.not behaving like spoilt brats falling out with the world. rant over,rest in peace tommy burns an example to us all.

Believable9 Unbelievable2

Was their running battles?fighting with police?sectarian chanting?scaring the locals?streams of urine running down the streets?fans attacking the udinese team bus?how many fans would have said the same if eufa never booted out sion for what they done?some folk are saying the banner will hurt the club in the pocket but if im totally honest,our terrible away performances due to lack of investment in a decent squad by the board have cost us far more.dont let the media ever try to claim we are the same as them from govan.totally been blown out of proportion. {Ed007's Note - Why are you comparing us to Rangers? Do you think that as long as someone else is doing or done something worse it makes it ok? That is no justification and makes you sound petty. The banner against UEFA was just as childish as the Rangers one about the SNP. It shouldn't cause us to be fined but why does there need to always be some kind of 'statement' made. Sion broke the rules and were expelled from Europe, CFC fans broke the rules and the club were fined. There were no anti-UEFA banners when we were rightly reinstated to the competition. Maybe we should now help Sion in their fight against UEFA as they now seem to be a common enemy? You should concentrate on your own club and let others worry about theirs instead of trying to justify some of our fans behaviour by saying Rangers done worse.}

Agree1 Disagree2

Doesn't matter if there was no fighting, or urine on the streets etc! What Happend is a disgrace! It's not the Celtic way

Agree5 Disagree0

Well said Ed. I've been saying that for a while now. Celtic poster go on the Rangers page and say we might have done this but you are worse and vice versa. I just wish we could get back to having football banter instead of all the rubbish some posters keep posting.
FF81 {Ed007's Note - It does my head in all the petty point scoring BS.}

Agree3 Disagree0

Lenny

Agree1 Disagree0

Don't Lenny your making me blush lol. I will send that £20 in the post to you for that but I can't guarantee you will get it before Xmas due to the postmen being rushed off their feet lol.

As Ed said its point scoring. Every day I read on the Rangers page and this page a certain poster going on about the tax. After hearing it for the past 8 months it gets really boring and I tend to not bother going on the Rangers or Celtic site some days.

Good tie.
Ajax, four times winners of European Cup vs Man Utd, well you know the rest...!
The Real KB {Ed007's Note - The rest, like Liverpool, is history :-) So are you one of the delusional ones that think Torres will be back at LFC bud? It is complete nonsense KB.}

Agree0 Disagree0

What do you take me for ?
Torres is not welcome back at Anfield mate. Dropped Kenny in it.
Not for me, no way.
Your mate Fergie might sign him up in summer, just to spite us though !?
The Real KB {Ed007's Note - No chance!! I'm hoping he moves for Higuain, but at 45+ million Euros I can't see it.}

Agree0 Disagree0

City mate.
Here, I'd lash a million out on Danny Murphy though still. Just to bring him on for free kicks at O.T.
You having it ?
The Real KB {Ed007's Note - Chelsea were offered Higuain during the week as Madrid want Cavani and need to fund that. You don't need Murphy, you have Suarez to win free kicks and C*****e A**m to muck them up ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Really ?
Can't see them spending another £50m odd in January again, after last year can you !?
What's City gonna do then, when Tevez is sold in a few weeks time ?
Sorry, not exactly Celtic banter I know..
The Real KB {Ed007's Note - I think it will probably be summer before Madrid sell Higuain. City were trying to do a swap with Madrid of Tevez for Di Maria and they are also very interested in Cavani as well as Lavezzi.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Aw Ed007...do you need to have a go at Liverpool, breaks my heart ! - Mrs E {Ed007's Note - They bring it on themselves! KB is bang on though, I get on with a few of them.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I Love Liverpool...its one of my favourite places. Try to be nice ! - Mrs E {Ed007's Note - I can't see that happening any time soon.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpool is one of your favorite places?? WTF Mrs E I thought you were a women of good taste?
CB {Ed007's Note - Ouch!!}

Agree0 Disagree0

CB..your comments have cut me to the bone ! I have very fond memories of many a weekend in Liverpool and won't hear a bad word..why do you not like it ? - Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

All women who taste good are welcome in good old Liverpool mate.

Hey I've just had a thought..Mrs E, you weren't a nurse are / were you ?

'All woman who taste good'... what have you been doing to female visitors ?

Good Afternoon ED007. If I have read things correctly Rangers and Mr Whyte are going to have serious problems come January.
By my calculations whyte will need to start repaying the loan he got from Close Brothers, He has already admitted to a "black hole" of £10m which needs to be found, he also still has to pay the "Wee Tax bill" of £4m, he has deducted PAYE and NI from players but not paid it to HMRC so this also needs to be paid.
Then in Jan/Feb the "BIG TAX CASE" ruling come out and if he loses this well...........
Looks like some high profile players will be shipped out from Ibrox to help pay these debts oh dearie me ha ha Timalloy {Ed007's Note - Everything should become clearer a lot in the next couple of months.}

Idiots!! I'm getting sick of them tarnishing our good reputation! Weed them out and get rid of them Celtic!! Markiebhoy.

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Markiebhoy, I agree if this is the Green Brigade that unfurled the banner then Celtic must take action against them. I hope members within the GB will also condemn it. We are Celtic, we are Fair Minded, we detest all bigotry but this campaign by GB is NOT the way to go about protesting. Timalloy

Agree2 Disagree1

Exactly mate. We spent years building up a reputation throughout Europe to be proud of. This minority seem intent on distroying that. Markiebhoy.

Agree1 Disagree1

Whats up 007 you only take the side of arselickers theres 2 sides 2 every story {Ed007's Note - I know that, there is the side of the club and the side of the people responsible for tarnishing our reputation, bringing us fines and possibly further punishments. I know what side is right. I'll leave the ar5e licking to mugs like you. Remember to get your fake Burberry scarf on over half your face in this weather, cold lips on a bare ar5e can't be much fun I would imagine.}

Agree2 Disagree0

Dunno about the banner/s. But what's up with a few flares ?
Part of European football.
F** health and safety no doubt.
The Real KB {Ed007's Note - Quite right KB, nothing wrong with flares at football as long as the aren't used to harm anyone.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Real KB nothing wrong with flares, I used to wear them all the time with my winklepicker shoes LOL Timalloy

Agree0 Disagree0

Flares and winklepickers ?
Haha, bad as my old fella Tim. With his skin tight blue jeans and suede chelsea boots. In the 1980's. Lol.
You were obviously one of the Celtic Casuals back in the day Tim eh. That's April 1st 1967 !
The Real KB

Agree0 Disagree0

Cold lips on a bare ar5e can't be much fun I would imagine.}and u would no all about that.... eh m8.. real burberry if u dont mind.... go on tell me uv never sang a rebel song {Ed007's Note - I've never denied that and never will. What myself or anyone has done in the past isn't the issue though is it? It is about the here and now and what is acceptable in modern society. When you reach puberty and mature a bit you will realise this. Again you are trying to justify things by bringing up other incidents or actions of others. You come across as a bit of a infantile knob, so I am not even going to respond to any your juvenile garbage. If you have nothing constructive or even remotely intelligent to add to the conversation I suggest you refrain from attempting to do so.}

Flares at football are ok , apart from in Italy , where they are banned , thats why we will be in bother .

Billybhoy1, well said pal. Timalloy

Agree2 Disagree0

It shows how much of a gent he was when Watler Smith carries his coffin. Too men split by the rivalry but joined by their respect for each other.

Billyboy1 {Ed007's Note - Ally McCoist was a pall bearer as well Billy mate, here's a video/song wrote as a tribute to TB. Might not be your cup of tea Billy but I mean no offence in posting it:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQWKD-KWiuI

Agree1 Disagree0

No offence taken ED, Tommy Burns was respected on both sides. I thought Ally did as well but wasnt sure. Just shows you hoiw good a man he was.

Billyboy1 {Ed007's Note - Very occasionally something happens that restores your faith in mankind Billy. WS and McCoist showed that some things are more important than football and all the nonsense that goes along with it up here.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I know ED. I bet his family took great comfort seeing that.

Billyboy1 {Ed007's Note - TB didn't 'hate' Rangers, he LOVED CFC and loved to see them beating Rangers, a thing that is sadly lost on a lot of fans from both sides. They 'hate' the other club more than they love the one they choose to support. It's very strange at times and a lot of people could learn a lot from people like TB. Seeing Peter Grant and McCoist consoling each other kind of sums it all up and shows what is actually the important things in life.}

Agree1 Disagree0

ED007 the words of the song summed him up "he was a Man, A Family Man, Calton Man, A Celtic Fan" RIP Tommy
PS Billybhoy1 the number of Rangers scarves outside Celtic Park was a huge mark of respect also.
When these things happen it brings all the decent fans together, I remember Jock Stein helping carry bodies at the Ibrox Disaster and that too united both sets of fans Timalloy

Agree2 Disagree0

ED007 your reply about Granty and McCoist comforting each other reminded me of Tommy Gemmell and Willie Henderson, Tommy used to kick lumps out of wee Willie for 90 minutes then the two went for a pint together after the game they were great mates. Timalloy

Hi ed, I thought that was a great performance last night, we are a very young squad and what I wanted was to see improvement during this group campaign. There was definitely that, especially from the fiasco that was the sion games. Hopefully this will give the younger players confidence going into the league campaign. i would get rid of cha, mulgrew and ki asap

mulgrew totally over rated about his free kick ability - very poor

ki not much better at free kicks - can't get the ball off the ground

cha poor again tonight - dodgy defending and ineffective when up to support

baiscally defence is very poor - the big swede is erratic - not even he knows where his passes / clearances are going

would wilson be a better bet at cb - have we seen enough of him to form a view

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Mulgrew has been solid since he came back

Ki is wasted in the spl knows how to keep the ball on the ground not just a massive punt bit like crosas would be best going to a more technical league so he can be appreciated

Cha is the worst our of 3 soon to be 4 right backs so yeah needs to go
