As much as today was a disgrace I think it will provide extra motivation to Brendan and the players to show the tribute act just how big the gap is on Sunday.

I don't think that we should hide behind the bad decisions from the officials as bad as they were.
In the last few weeks we have lost late goals to Sevco, Patrick, and today against Ross County, in all these games we have paid the price for not killing these teams off whilst in front.
I'm not in any way defending the poor decisions, but I am more concerned about finding the ruthlessness in front of goal we had earlier in the season.
We can't affect awful decisions that go against us, but we can influence how we play, and if we play to our capabilities these decisions won't matter.

Agree3 Disagree7

16 Apr 2017 23:11:19
Think erik needs to up his game been very average poor passing and being outjumped a lot ad go with boyata and jozo for semi.

Agree1 Disagree7

16 Apr 2017 23:54:12
Spot on gerry. only game we had been ruthless of late was against hearts an we had something to play for that day. I hope we go out with same mind set next week. Hampden at times no been good to us over the years with decisions etc but been good this season so far so let's get the ruthless spark back.

Agree1 Disagree7

17 Apr 2017 09:25:49
Yayo we are not getting out of 2nd gear and if we do its for 10 mins then drop off again. I think that's why we lose so many goals we are not all working at tge same pace so players are out of position or not tracking the runners. The penalty was a joke but with the amount of possession and the better players we should be 2 or 3 goals up. Not confident about Sunday. Need much more intensity in our play.

Agree0 Disagree5

17 Apr 2017 09:36:17
I think big Moussa has been off the boil for quite a while now and I'm talking before his injury. Normally turns up for the big games and hopefully that is the case on Sunday! I've got a wee feeling Griff could be our hero next week.

Agree1 Disagree5

17 Apr 2017 09:52:13
Totally agree about Erik, mally! It's actually shocked me how much he's fell away since Brendan came in! We've been so used to players upping there game but he's definitely went the other way. he's looked slow and well off the pace this season, and the fact some people want boyata tells its own story!

A quality centre half is a must in the summer for me! And I hate saying that because I had big hopes for Erik when he first came in! I actually thought he looked captain material at one point! definitely needs to up his game if he wants to stay in Brendan's team!

Agree1 Disagree5

17 Apr 2017 10:30:10
Lh a just think his decision making and passing has been poor going back to last sevco game where he was awful fat waggy even got away from him.

Agree0 Disagree4

17 Apr 2017 11:02:51
The high standards shown by the vast majority of side were bound to slacken off at this stage of the season with the league so comfortably achieved by a country mile.
Other factors have been the tinkering with the back four and injuries to both strikers and Rogic.
However, there is no getting away from some very poor and dodgy refereeing in recent weeks with some very dangerous tackles against us going unpunished and some ridiculous 'honest mistakes' from Madden and that clown yesterday in particular and a sharp reminder of what can happen in semi-finals like the Inverness hand-ball fiasco.
Big Jock or even Alex Ferguson would take advantage of these situations and put the focus and pressure firmly on officials going into these games just to remind them?
As for Broony being sent off - it was the correct decision and personally I think returning to international duty has had an adverse effect on his form and fitness and has clearly affected performances recently and although he will be missed if suspended? The rest will do him good.

Agree0 Disagree2

17 Apr 2017 20:03:27
Agree with you Mally Re big Erik. like the fella but been saying the same thing to Mrs F for a good few weeks now and thought his recent gripes were a wee bit rich. how about you knuckle down. train well. improve the things you're weak at and get back in the team that way.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2017 20:47:22
Thoughts on today's game: should have won but obvious reason why we didn't.

Thought a few players played poor;
Broonie - sent off probably rightly so but could argue about how dangerous the challenge was. Out with that though I thought he had a poor game, so many misplaced passes it was frustrating.
Big Erik - also pretty poor and looked quite dodgy at the back
Forrest and mcgregor - thought they were non existent
Simo, Armstrong and KT, our best players I thought.
MD and TR - more about game time and fitness
SS - quiet today but still looked dangerous whenever on the ball

Thought the formation didn't go with the team if u know what I mean, Forrest and mcgregor ain't wing backs and whilst KT played well, his strength is bombing down the left.

Anyway, still undefeated and the team still keeping the unbeaten run going. Despite the officials best attempts to derail it ๐Ÿ˜›๐Ÿ˜›.

id agree with everything marty apart from browns tackle . 10 mins earlier its a yellow card
the ref went for yellow at first then the county players started pushing and manhandling brown so he goes for red totally shocking decisicions mate . if the officials were in poor positions then fine but as i understand they were in good positions to see everything.

Agree2 Disagree7

17 Apr 2017 08:13:49
Browns tackle was a definitely red card, don't let the fact that the ref got the pen decision wrong cloud your judgement. If any player in any other team in the SPFL did that against any of our players we'd all be saying it's a straight red.
Also let's be 100% honest, Brown has stayed on the pitch when he's been deserving of a straight red/ second yellow in the past so how do you explain that if all the refs and SFA are all anti Celtic and think up schemes during lodge meetings?

Agree3 Disagree5

16 Apr 2017 19:40:41
Was at the game today and even from our end we could see quite clearly it was a shameful dive. That just goes to show the officials were either inept or corrupt.
Got home and decided to go to the pub to watch the 'big' game in the Premiership today. What a load of Michael Knight! I left at around the 75 minute mark because of how poor the game was. The EPL is just one massive rip off, With overpaid Prima Donnas playing crap football. And Pogba? Somebody is having a laugh there!

Believable5 Unbelievable10

16 Apr 2017 22:49:23
i am sick of celtic doing nothing about this blatant freemasonary time after time.

Agree4 Disagree8

17 Apr 2017 09:38:13
Jamesbhoy the standard of the officials in the SPL is very poor. Its not just Celtic it happens in 2 or 3 games every week. Every time we get a poor decision supporters drop in the freemason pitch. The refs are crap really simple.

Agree2 Disagree5

17 Apr 2017 09:48:24
@jb67 - if you can't beat them join them! I heard the Mason's are always looking for new members! ๐Ÿ˜‚.

17 Apr 2017 17:13:26
they are not taking any new members, they are full up with scottish refs and linesmen.

Still raging at that decision, how can McIntyre defend him by saying he anticipated contact, its cheating regardless which means he meant to dive, even if there was contact.

On our day, we can beat anyone; however when we fail to take chances or capitalise on major shares of possession, then we will always be prone to 'honest mistakes' poor judgement and moments of weakness.
There is a clear divide on this site between those of us paranoid and suspicious of the establishment and others who say some officials are just plain incompetent or naff.
One thing I do notice is that many of our players - who have had no allegiance or support for Celtic at any time before signing, soon have their eyes opened regarding the amount of controversial game changing decisions that go against them.

A timely reminder that we need to get back to our best for the run-in and take any anger and sense of injustice out on the rest; playing the way we know we can - with or without Broony, who should have kept the heid in a meaningless game, although the circumstances were difficult when you feel cheated and infuriated by a liar with a whistle.

Even brotherTiny Walton wouldn't have given that penalty.

Thats got to be one of the worst penalty decisions av ever seen by officials but what the foock is broony thinking about thatll be him out of both sevco games.

Brown was daft with challenge but its a yellow for me. Will we appeal it?

Agree2 Disagree5

16 Apr 2017 14:51:21
We can appeal it though.

Agree0 Disagree5

16 Apr 2017 14:58:49
Totally agree. To be honest, despite all the posession we are not winning well. Since January we don't create as many chances as we should for the amount of possession we have and we always look vulnerable at the back when players run at us. Not over confident about next week. With Brown out it will make it more difficult but was not too sure we are going to win against Rangers before Brown got his marching orders.

Agree1 Disagree3

16 Apr 2017 15:08:10
Is the cup game not different?

Agree0 Disagree2

16 Apr 2017 15:08:27
That game's cost us big time! Don't understand everyone tip-toeing around the player's blatant cheating, he was diving just as he touched the ball, complete with the head flick back. it's a dive! You don't flick your head and throw your arms in the air if you anticipate being clattered. cheat!

Broony lost any composure he has, can you appeal a straight red?

Hope they go down now.

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - terrible and embarrassingly shameful dive that was!}

16 Apr 2017 15:46:59
Who's tip-toeing around it miko? Even Neil McCann said it was blatant cheating. Absolutely disgraceful from the player and the officials. Scott Brown should know better than to dive in at that speed in injury time, he's let us down but luckily we can appeal.

Agree1 Disagree2

16 Apr 2017 16:07:05
@kevbhoy yes it was blatant cheating . Brendan called it correct, put it on camera so as not to be ignored . Will brendan be charged though for his comments ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”

As for broony! It was a rush of blood to the head . Barry Robson said it looked worse that it was in terms studio. Mind this is the ref who deemed a studded tackle by a Motherwell player on wee tierneys knee cap only a yellow?

The refs are just warming up for the weeks ahead .

Agree2 Disagree2

16 Apr 2017 16:24:28
What you on about Kev? On one hand they're saying he's cheated and they then comment about how he was anticipating contact and he'll be feeling a wee bit guilty. bollocks to that mince! There's no ambiguity, he took a dive, why try to justify his actions?

Agree0 Disagree2

16 Apr 2017 16:26:06
Outrageous decision for the pen. The Premiership could do without Don Robertson for a while. Big let down by Broony too. He's showed real maturity and experience the past few seasons and that was just foolish from him. I've seen yellows given for worse but he gave the ref a decision to make. I'm not a fan of that set up today either. Never been comfortable with three at the back and really don't see the point unless you play with two natural strikers.

Agree1 Disagree2

16 Apr 2017 15:54:00
Is it both?

Agree0 Disagree4

16 Apr 2017 16:01:25
@mallythetally - I heard SB doesn't want to be known as part of the side that loses the unbeaten record to Rangers. ๐Ÿ˜‰.

Yayo it's a yellow for me as well.

The Honest mistakes are the only thing that will stop the treble! Ref and linesman had a perfect view.

Agree1 Disagree2

16 Apr 2017 16:49:25
He can't be banned in time if we appeal kev. So no doubt we will appeal.

Agree1 Disagree2

16 Apr 2017 16:49:41
. and Scott Brown's not let anyone down, he's been outstanding this season!

Agree0 Disagree4

16 Apr 2017 17:02:51
An honest mistake stopped the treble 2 seasons ago and wouldn't surprise me if something similar happens on Sunday. Got to make sure we"re out of sight early on cos i fear if it's tight going into the last 15 mins the honest mistake will happen.

Agree1 Disagree3

16 Apr 2017 16:44:25
It is a dive. Its not only cheating Celtic but all of the teams fighting relegation. Dusgrace. Not sure about this but i think if ref sent him off for violent conduct then he can't play in semi. Otherwuse ban kicks in on next league game. Ed will know better than me. What happens Ed?

Agree1 Disagree3

{Ed007's Note - Appeals have to be made within 2 working days and are normally held on the Thursday but as Mondayโ€™s a bank holiday clubs were told in advance that any hearings arising from the weekendโ€™s games would not be heard until April 27 - so if Celtic appeal Brown can play next week and then his case will be heard on the 27th.}

16 Apr 2017 18:49:07
UJ look forward to speaking next Sunday night โ˜˜๏ธ.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2017 18:56:58
Embarrassing guys. Yes it was a blatant dive but come on, how many times has Dembele done exactly the same thing this season? Whether the referee falls for it or not is irrelevant it's still cheating. On my opinion every player caught diving whether the referee falls for it or not should be given a one match ban. Mind guidetti and his dive last season or Dembele against Dundee and rangers this season.

Agree2 Disagree3

16 Apr 2017 18:57:28
Sorry to burst your bubble Union Jack but due to pub hol / red tape SB is free to play :-D.

@uj dream on pal and broony will be at hampden next week. oh how your heart must have missed a beat when u thoght hed miss it haha.

Agree1 Disagree3

17 Apr 2017 00:20:23
@jfp88 - you know me lose or victorious draw this season I've always came on. ๐Ÿ˜‰
@jb7 - you have to admire Brenda for calling it like it is for the penalty - blatant cheating but does he then not embarrass himself by appealing a definite red for Brown?

P.S. I thought Brown was rank rotten in the last game as he was too interested in off the ball stupidity with Holt so I'm quite glad he will be playing as ever since he's returned for Scotland I think he's went off the boil a wee bit?

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Apr 2017 07:06:36
A definite red was it any worse than holts against us or millers 2 footed lunge or wee gurner against hamilton btw none deemed a red but broony sees red.

Agree0 Disagree2

17 Apr 2017 12:03:52
Union Jack if you don't think SB will turn up against you after that and sailing close to the brink of being suspended. added he will miss the following two games then you are filed under just another 'silly billy' am afraid. take a ticket and join the queue .

P.S. It's a big queue!

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Apr 2017 17:04:46
Mally in my opinion Dembele dive against rangers was equally as bad. Had Celtic been given the penalty there would be the same outrage. Anyway we aren't talking about who's is worse as a dive is a dive. No matter how bad it is If you Cheat to win a penalty or attempt to win a penalty you're as bad as anyone else who tries it which is why in my opinion every player caught doing it should be given a one match ban whether they've been booked for diving during the match or they've managed to con the referee.

Also for all the Celtic fans claiming some sort of bias against your club from officials this season just have a look at some of the decisions that have gone your way. You might not be discussing an unbeaten season had it not been for that awful decision to award you a penalty away in Perth earlier in the season.

@cambo67 - aye there's always a reason for a potential leg breaker! Cue fake outrage and comparisons to Miller's challenge that completely missed Armstrong.

Agree1 Disagree1

16 Apr 2017 16:57:35
That was not a fake UJ THAT was shocking and equally a shocking decision that Miller did not walk I am sure if that was a Celtic player going into a challenge like that you lot would be wanting blood.

Agree0 Disagree1

16 Apr 2017 19:00:55
@tony2bhoy - Brown could have ended that guy's career, it was deliberate, deserves a 6 game ban, worst tackle I've ever seen etc. Just some of the Tom Kite posted on here after Miller's challenge that never connected and yet Brenda deems Browns worthy of an appeal? Now that's embarrassing!
And you're right we fans only see situations as relevant to our own team.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2017 21:17:33
I think you are grossly exaggerating that challenge yes it was hard yes it was a foul I might have my blinkers on but to me it was nothing more than a yellow and no way a career stopper it wasn't a 2 footed studs up ninja tackle like the one Miller did right in front of the Ref with no consequence even though no contact the intent was there Brown was just a little late.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Remember Kiernan's red card v St Johnstone that TRIFC appealed so he could play against us last month? That's a better comparison. It's about 1:10 in..

Another post and an interesting question for all you tims out there.
This summers transfer business, would you like to see a few new players to replace those who leave:- Goalkeeper, LB, Centre half, no10, Winger and Forward. Given that i believe the following players will leave, De Vries or Bailly or both, Ambrose, Isaguirre, Commons, Roberts, Mackay-Stevens and Cifti with Svaichenko possibliy too. Or would you like to see our own Youngsters given a chance, Doohan? Ralston, Macilduff, Ajer, MacCart, Henderson, Christie, Nesbitt, Miller, Aitchson and Crossan or a combiation of the two.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 Apr 2017 09:41:33
Would prefer to see Connor Hazard instead of Doohan as one the keepers. He's just signed a new 2 year deal - I'm not sure what Doohan's current status is. As far as I can see Sam Wardrop, Theo Archibald, Mark Hill and Colin McCabe have still to have their status confirmed.

Also remember who's on loan - a good number of them may be released including the likes of Janko, Scott Allan, Jamie Lindsay and Paul McMullan. That leaves a few youngsters also on loan for development purposes. So all in all there may be a further clearout if some of them fail to take the their opportunities.

If the first team do manage to go the full season without losing a league game, they'll be emulating last season's Development Squad (the Invincibles) who went the full season also not losing a game.

Stengo.
