{Ed007's Note - Nice to see you back mate, I hope you and your good lady had a ball. There's not much to report, we've contacted Liverpool regarding loaning Tiago Ilori but the money involved might be a bit steep for us, as far as I know we're still the only club who has put a solid offer on the table at PSV for Zakaria Bakkali. I've been trying to find out who we're scouting in Portugal but I've got nothing yet.
I can't see Scepovic having much future at the club, it seems he isn't too keen on punctuality or exerting himself too much in training, we tried to offload him back to Spain during the January window either permanent or on loan but nothing materialised and he hasn't picked it up since then. It was known from the start he didn't fancy the move and you really have to chalk it up to a bad error of judgement on PL and Park.}

Thanks very much Ed for the update mate , looked at the the boy Tiago 6ft 7 a reckon & went for 7 mill must have something about him (y) Nice to see you JimTim & Timalloy and good to be back for my WALLET to get a rest lol

Was wondering Ed what you thinking or knowledge of the Jackson Irvine situ? boy a talent IMO he out of contract at the end of the season (I think?) no surprise to me to see having paired Marcus Fraser again there at Ross County they are now solid and one of the inform teams now

Loaned him to Killie last season and Alan Johnston said "he was on a different level" to everyone else by a mile season before that was considered the best prospect in the development squad

Just think with us needing cover there it is foolish to let him go IMO can see him ending up at Aberdeen or Utd. and being another one that ends up biting us in the backside

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I don't know what's happening with Irvine but I've seen him a few times this season and been impressed. I'd be disappointed if he wasn't offered a new deal as he certainly ticks a lot of boxes for me and he's a genuinely decent lad.}

Jamie son where have u been hiding? Lol good to see u back mate

{Ed007's Note - He's not allowed on the laptop until he's done the dishes and ironing.}

Lmao ed! No playtime till the blue bin is oot lol

{Ed007's Note - There's one of them stays across from me, well I thinks she's female, it's hard to tell the difference with that lot.
We used to laugh that female Rangers supporters looked like something out of Prisoner Cell Block H (even the mention of that H-Block got them foaming at the snouts) and now the Sevco manager looks like the star of it!

ED007 you stirred a memory for me, my late mother used to set the alarm for 4am to get up to record Prisoner Cell Block H (she could not work the timer) then when I came in from work about 5pm that is when she and my niece would watch it, all I was told was "your dinner is in the oven" and most times it was done to a crisp poor me lol

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The strange thing for me about it was that my dad used to watch it. My mam was, and still is, a massive soap opera fan but my dad wasn't even that big a fan of TV in general yet he never missed Prisoner. Thankfully it did give me time to watch German 'educational' channels on Sky when you had the old coax cable splitter to send it to other rooms in the house a la Kevin Bridges.}

17 Apr 2015 15:04:31
LMAO So much in this thread Nice to see you DN30 too mate was away visiting another Mickey Mouse outfit that well sevco was no where near lol , as far the dishes and ironing add take that over any other fargin shoppin mall!

How much stuff one person can claim "is such a good buy" a will never know!

Cell block H my grannies fav too! shuttin them in the walls would move and hawf the younger cast ending up as the long last grannie or auntie in Home n Away or Neighbours lol

Back to the footy am glad you think Irvine merits a deal Ed a for one hope if the league gets wrapped up early we see a wee glimpse of a few of the youngsters get game time mate

Good to hear from you Jamie. Was just thinking bout you on sat when griffiths scored after 2 mins, were you on your usual goal in 10 mins bet or still away. My self imposed gambling ban took a back seat when timmalloy directed us to a free tips site on the rumours format. The Eds on that were flying untill I started following them it's calmed down to say the least since then. That's why I try not to gamble anymore nothing financial or addiction related just never win. Don't know if you have seen that other site.?

I see the Scotsman are linking us to Jonathan Mensah drom Evian. Here is my post from 2013 regarding him:

A couple of other options I like are 22 year old ghanaian international Jonathan mensah from Evian - not a bruiser but a good athletic defender (6'2") in a decent french side, udinese tend to bring through players who are good technically and can transfer well to any league. jean-Pierre Laguerre

Not in the best of form lately, perhaps a change of scene will help him get back to what he is capable of.

What an amazing feat by our fans last night to raise over £30k in food donations for the Glasgow Foodbanks, I have recently started volunteering in one in the South of Glasgow so have witnessed first hand what a great job these charities do, but what an indictment that in 2015 we still need these type of charities to feed hungry families the one I help out in has mums with 4 and 5 children needing their help

Well done timalloy, that is a very worthy thing to do.
Unfortunately this government seems to despise the less well off, and treat them as if being poor is all their own fault.
They won't even rule out cutting or taxing disability living allowance, which would affect me, but they can find tax cuts for their rich pals.
I truly hope that whatever happens, they will not be in power on 8th May

Terrible in this day and age that food banks are having to be used but why would you have 4 or 5 kids if you can't afford to feed them or bring them up in a comfortable lifestyle? I have 2 girls and would have more kids in a heartbeat but know that I can't afford to without taking away from the lifestyle I provide for my family. I know folks circumstances change whether it be illness or job losses and those folk I do have sympathy for but too many expect a free ride from society in general.

Yet again the farce that's the SPFL have made a total balls up this time with the fixtures.

Does anyone out there actually think they they're doing a good job or even a decent one?

On the other hand it's Great to see other clubs all getting together and speaking out again about the blatant bias shown to sevco.

Just remember in all this, the SPFL are still paying TV to show Sevco games, people seem to forget that.

AH let's not forget who is in charge of scottish football and responsible for its integrity, development and progression Neil Doncaster. This same man made a rip roaring ar$e of it at Norwich City, yet was appointed to oversee the running of a nation!

This man also was part of the regime who allowed the current tenants of Ibrokes to reform in 3rd division (at time of former league set up), yet in past Airdrie were banished and bought over Clydebank to rename as Airdrie United and Gretna were banished.

I have no faith in the scottish game progressing under Doncaster

16 Apr 2015 16:58:29
I have never had faith or confidence in any Scottish Football authority - no matter how many disguises and 'false names' they adapt. Sir Robert Kelly stood his ground against them, but very few since, have challenged any of the antics and shenanigans that is synonymous with our football legislators.

Since the liquidation of 2012, there has been no end of rule bending, manipulation and irregularities to protect and falsify the existence of an imaginary club called 'Rangers'.
These determined and engineered efforts to elect this new team to the primary division of Scottish football is being proclaimed as a necessity and a benefit to us all.

The truth is, most decent football supporters do not want a return to the 'good old days' - with an updated version of Scotland's Shame.

I agree completely with A H and D N 30, it looks like the powers that be will have to rely on the traditional route , funny hand shakes and biased referees to get Sevco to the SPL .

It gets worse. A reporter from stv said that Doncaster's secretary said he was travelling all day and couldn't do an interview.

The stv lad has just seen Doncaster leaving Hampden!

I see Killie have fired in a complaint as well they wanted a home game to celebrate the anniversary of winning the league on the 25th and got dingied and have 18 home games and 20 away games this season.

There must be some way of getting shot of these peopel, they're killing our game

16 Apr 2015 22:41:50
In all fairness I think Kilmarnock's request should have been accommodated . 50 years anniversary of their only Scottish League Champions . I wouldn't normally have much time for Kilmarnock but celebrating success like this would be an opportunity to promote the game , a concept that Doncastor either doesn't under stand or doesn't wish to participate .

My thoughts are with the family of Karen Buckley, the girl who was murdered after a night out at weekend.

Every parents worst nightmare and I can't begin to imagine the pain and anguish they are suffering at the hands of some sick twisted individual. Hope justice prevails and whoever is responsible rots in jail

After LG's goals tonight there may be an open discussion about who our no1 CF is. If i'm honest I haven't seen it. GJ starts ahead because of his technical ability and that has been and must be the case in training or LG is just a nutter goal hungry sub for RD ;)? We have watched them both this season and they aren't 90min players. Maybe Delia wants that in his team but as time goes on the fittest and (usually best) available 8 start so I don't think it is the case. Given the chance no striker has held their head and delivered consistently which our current style has demanded with the strongest first team starting. Rotation, rotation and non appearance and as a result a weak CF position getting bailed out as a, or reliable contributing AMF.
I am truly delighted, elated and satisfied with the progress that we have made but I crave a first choice striker and I feel with a 4 2 3 1 it may be out our budget for europe to have that guy unless we are really lucky and a nod to chris the all seeing, last word yoda 02 on the exorbitant ready made lone striker cost on a previous thread . Even half baked luxury players aren't in our remit anymore, or bare minimum is tallentent workers. So at best, by basic understanding, average bitpart shouldn't be acceptable now either and we have to trim to allow genuine proven quality if possible. We have now have two of the best ball playing (fair enough inexperienced CBs) we have had in years and it will be missed and not unlike our recent midfield rebuild when they go. I hope the new replacement signings slot in well. I feel we will have have to do a genuine rebuild for next season but it inst beyond us progressing. It may even benefit us to have some extra steel and through coaching we might be stronger defensively , maybe hopeful. can't help it but I will always miss good football players when they move on.
Im truly exhausted waiting for some others to stop backing the blatant 'famed' non prefomers to see the light. My eyes feel burnt watching the famed few getting game time and pulling on the jersey eyes will be cleansed and realise the shadow that is the varying bit players talent . They will not be missed. IF the squad is properly trimmed, as stated, in the summer.
It will come down to PL money and RD cajones
and some daft clubs willing to buy or take them on.
We all have our chop list I have 9 loan ins, loaned out ,want ways and current squad players on that list.

It's not easy to replace players, look at Hooper - have we replaced him? Hooper was great for us but he's hardly a top class striker.

With the 1 centre forward unless they are a cut above the rest, their threat is easily nullified. You could tell, Forrest, Commons, Matthews, Izzy were all told to stay on the wings and they very rarely moved into the box (which is fair enough) But Ronny did what shows a good Manager and had a plan b 👍

16 Apr 2015 07:27:09
In the formation 4-2-3-1 its the 3 segments job to be creative and technical, supplying 1 striker. All we need is someone who will stick ball in back of the net. I wasnt keen on Griffiths at first, but he has played well and is a better player than Guidetti.

I don't think Griffiths is long term answer as we need a striker who can score for fun in europe. But credit to him, he has got his head down and got stuck in

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2015 11:54:09
There is no doubt the calibre of striker has dropped in recent seasons at the club, but we have shown in the past that we can get a reasonable penalty box striker without over-spending.
Hooper, McDonald and JVOH are an example and they all took advantage of the chances our play creates.
The good thing about this team however is although we lack a 25/30 goal striker - there are goals right through the team.

Last night was a potential banana skin and we even went a goal down; maybe before, that would have signalled panic? But we managed to turn it around with a tactical change and the desire to win. I was worried about Griffiths as I heard he was in the news regarding a court case? But it obviously never had any bearing on his performance.
Hope we take the game to ICT on Sunday right from the KO and keep the momentum going.

16 Apr 2015 17:21:45
Said it before- punt Guidetti- think Griffiths as striker would link really well with Pukki. Pukki is hardly prolific but think his best work was done in the channels- perfect foil for griffiths IMO. Plus he is already ours. ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2015 17:58:08
I think Griffiths finally showed us his full range of skills . The one thing he hadn't showed this season was his ability to hammer home from long range . I have to say his second goal last night was a beaut . I think he has now the motivation and confidence to end the season on a high . Deila , Mc Ginness and others seemed to have done great work with him , but at the end of the day terrific credit to Leigh himself because no matter what anyone has done with him , he , himself , had to take it on board .
I think with the amount of games we have played this season, the lone striker role was one position we had to rotate often , not to do so would have burnt out the striker and maybe resulted in injury .
Was it the playing two up front for the last 35 mins or so that made the difference, or was the surprise of playing two up front , I think that Locke would have told his defence that Celtic wouldn't adopt a 4 4 2 formation and that might have confused them.
