I see that Celtic will stage the Glasgow cup final on April 28th . Why? . The media are already creaming themselves describing it as a you know what final . I can't understand why we are staging it . It's not as if we need money . It's not as if we need the hassle which I think we will get . It's reported 2500 tickets will be given to school kids and the rest will sell at £5 a time . After the carry on at Firhill last year it looks like inviting trouble and with the building work being done at the main entrance I feel the fans will run into each other . I can't see why an under 17 final can't be played at Lennoxtown . No harm to the kids who'll be playing but I just hope it's not a recipe for disaster . DH

Have to agree. We don't need the problems this game will inevitably throw up.Unless the board see this as a way to introduce the nonsensical old firm tag to the game.

Agree0 Disagree0

GJ . The board to me are the biggest culprits in all this . Faceless men who don't really care how the fans feel but are wiling to go along with the nonsense that the MSM are peddling . Scott Brown refused to answer a question about Leigh Griffiths a few weeks ago and walked out the press conference . I take it he had been told beforehand not to talk about the situation and did what he was told . So why is our club still pandering to the notion that the tribute club is still the same club and not informing players and management not to discuss things that's got nowt to do with us . All I'm waiting for now is to see on the club website how they will promote and advertise this final . DH

Couldn't agree more DH, this game should not be played at CP, and shouldn't be advertised at all, anyone who is interested in this game would have been aware when it is due to be played. Now I would imagine there will be a substantial crowd of desperadoes sadly looking for the closest thing they can get to the now extinct old firm games which can only lead to bother

This is the email I was sent regarding the final.

Lawwell had his wee Rory Bremner joke about RFC/Sevco, but before that and since then the PLC have never given their stance on the situation of Oldco + Newco. Not to mention telling shareholders to withdraw their complaints to UEFA about the lack of action taken by the SFA regarding that mob!

Hey ed was just wondering if you knew why fridjonsson hasn't featured for the first team yet. From what I gather he is tearing it up dor the u21s?
Really want to see the lad in action cause he looked like the real deal

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I have no idea. NL said when he signed he was ready for first team action as soon as clearance came through in January. He has had a couple of injuries but has probably been been pushed further down the pecking order with us wasting money on Griffiths.}

16 Apr 2014 18:24:33
Just heard the PFA nominees for the lower leagues in Scotland, Fraser Wishart has surpassed himself with 3 Sevco players nominated and 2 ex Sevco players in div 2 nominated.
This despite even the most fervent Sevco supporter bemoaning how poor their team has been.
"impartiality" at it's best from a union who champions "fair and just" treatment of ALL.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Tim I usually like your posts but what has Wishart got to do with the nominations lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2014 19:46:11
@Rayman he is the head of the Scottish PFA
perhaps others on here will enlighten you about his "impartiality" all I will say he likes insects particulary WASPS

Agree0 Disagree0

Wishart is another who cannot bring himself to say anything negative about sevco.Having said that the only winner can be Wallace, head and shoulders above anyone in the lower divisions.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tim I know what he does but he does not pick the nominations the players do. Or am I missin something lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Apr 2014 11:49:34
@Rayman there have been murmorings over the years about how the votes are counted, lots of "spoiled" paper votes etc. it needs to be independently verified by a respected organisation

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair, why wouldn't the nominees in the third tier be full time players from Sevco, who are unbeaten in a part time league? Also, Kane Hemmings has been a standout in the Championship this season for Cowdenbeath - as has Rory Loy for Falkirk and Tony Andreu for Accies. Rory McAllister has played at top flight level in Scotland not so long ago, so his name isn't a surprise for the bottom tier. Don't see what the problem is with the nominations?

Agree0 Disagree0

Wasn't aware of that but surely can't be true as I sure the players themselves would a picked up on it.I with Hamilton on this they were always going to be picked considerin what they are up against and I also sure Wallace will win by a mile he the only good player they got.

There is a new poll up: Would you be happier to never have to play any version of Sevco or do you want to see them debut in the SPFL Premiership?

To vote just click here.

I have voted NO hope they stay in lower division for ever. Their fans will not be missed either.
PS ED007 can you issue a yellow card to anyone on here who mentions the phrase "old firm"
(yes I know I am the first recipient of said card doh)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'll delegate and leave you in charge of it Tim.}

A "firm" no from me! I have always shown my feelings on this forum about that sham set up across the city. As far as I am concerned they can rot. I cannot believe they are getting away with absolute murder! To still be playing in a fraudulent strip, training and playing at assets that should have been sold to pay debts to small traders, not to mention the government, or to still be calling themselves "Rangers" with the same knuckledraggers follow following them, the whole sorry saga is an embarrassment to everyone involved from theSFA

Agree0 Disagree0

It would take a long time for me to be convinced that any version of Sevco had gained promotion to the SPL solely by honest methods . Not by having the road paved by the SFA and the referees and their assistants taking away the bends and obstacles . So I would not want them back .

Agree0 Disagree0

I have made my feelings on this clear on these pages.Never would be too soon for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have voted yes we sit on here talking about meaningless boring atmosphere lacking games of football. Then say we don't want to play rangers again I personally would jump at the chance of a Yellow card game Timalloy nothing beat it for atmosphere and that's what I want to pump them 4-5 nil again and ram our superiority down there throats. I also wonder how many of you who vote no would actually boycott such a match I think it would be very few. And ED it would be interesting if you waited a few weeks and worded the question differently its more skewed to a no vote than the independance question. I would suggest an unbiased would you like to see us play rangers in the league

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note's - I don't see how that would be interesting, I was asked to put a poll up and I did. If you want to be picky about the wording of it then that's up to you, most people rightly believe that Rangers don't exist in their previous form.
That includes previous Rangers supporters, managers, players and owners, not to mention the actual club's comments when they played Brechin in their first ever match.
It is all backed by official footballing statutes, the official bodies like UEFA and FIFA and business law. Whatever skewed propaganda that is now being peddled by the MSM is of no interest to me.}

They, whoever they are no longer exist, about time we all accepted it and moved on. I have said on many occasion, the sooner Ibrox is demolished the better it will be for everyone concerned. They are like a cancer on football and society. The sooner a statement is issued by Celtic on the matter the better!

Agree0 Disagree0

My only wish is the Board at Celtic and the management and players grow a set and start making a stand against this myth and fairy tale that is Sevco.
The support do not recognise or wish to associate with this band of imposters!

I have no problem saying Old Firm as Celtic need Rangers as much as we may need them. The television revenue and more sponsorship will only rise when Glasgow Rangers takes it's rightful place back in the SPFL.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed could you provide a link to where FIFA UEFA etc have clarified that they are a new club? I have a couple of mates who supported that old club and maintain the exact opposite.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's all been well documented many times before. UEFA's statutes and regs. are their for anyone to read and they have never officially commented on the subject either way, they have no need to it's all there in black and white. Although Paul Clark from Duff & Phelps after speaking to both UEFA and FIFA stated on 31-10-13.

"Following the liquidation of RFC today both UEFA and FIFA recognise The Rangers FC as a new member club once all relevant criteria are met in the future to allow the new club to join both organisations in the future"

On FIFA's official site it clearly and unequivocally states:

Rangers go under
14 June
Rangers’ perilous financial position had been an open secret but there was still shock when, after 140 years of history and a world record 54 league titles, the club was consigned to liquidation in mid-June. The Glasgow giants were subsequently reformed as a new company and granted entry to the Third Division, Scotland’s fourth tier, which they currently lead by nine points with a game in hand.

Cant understand fascination of that mob. As far as I'm concerned, our rivals died and couldn't give a rats about the subject.

hi
do we still go through the champions route with next seasons CL qualifiers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 Apr 2014 16:07:31
OP you have answered your own question, Celtic as CHAMPIONS will qualify via the CHAMPIONS group of teams. 3 qualifiers to manoeuvre out of.

Agree0 Disagree0

We will have 3 rounds to qualify for group stages and we are likely to be seeded in the champions route

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2014 20:00:23
ED007 I read somewhere that there are 8 teams with a higher coefficient than Celtic are we guaranteed to be seeded for all 3 qualifiers?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - There's six teams with a higher co-efficient than us Timbo and as things stand plus the way leagues are expected to finish we will be seeded in all the qualifying rounds.
Basel look like winning the Swiss league and they will go directly into the group stage. Out of the five other teams who would have to win their title for Celtic not to be seeded, Salzburg (who have won the Austrian league) and Steaua Bucharest (6 points clear in the Romanian league) take up 2 of those places.
APOEL are second in the Cypriot league, FC Copenhagen are sitting third in the Danish league and Viktoria Plzen are second in the Czech league.}

The teams (with co-efficient) in the 1st Q Round so far are:

TNS (4.850)
Levadia Tallinn (4.575)
HB (3.175)
Lincoln Red Imps (0.000)

Along with the N. Irish, Armenian, Sammarinese + Andorran champions.

The 4 winners from that round will join the the following teams in the 2nd Q Round, including us:

Salzburg (46.185)
Celtic (36.813)
BATE (33.725)
Aktobe (8.150)
Ventspils (7.750)
HJK (7.435)
Malmo (6.265)
KR (5.350)
Stromsgodset (4.855)
St Pat's (4.775)
Zalgiris Vilnius (3.050)

Along with the Czech, Romanian, Israeli, Polish, Croatian, Serbian, Slovakian, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Slovenian, Georgian, Azerbaijani, Bosnian, Moldovan, Montenegrin, Macedonian, Albanian, Maltese + Luxembourgish champions.

The Champions path in the 3rd round will include 17 winners from the previous round along with the Swiss, Cypriot + Danish champions.

Then the Play-Off Round's Champions path will be the 10 winners of the 3rd Q Round.

Just shows the level our club has slouched too, when we're starting in the same round as Maltese + Luxembourgish teams - and the round before the Cypriot champions!

Heard there is a street in Clydebank with lowest fertility rate in Britain, the name of street is.
COCHNO STREET lol

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cochno Road is no much better. Wonder what they do in Cockermouth? or in Minge Lane in Upton-upon-Severn. Or Fanny Hands Lane, Ludford, Lincolnshire.

Poor tim mate lol. I do still chuckle at a funny place name. There's an area near me called wideopen. I always remember going camping in northumberland and on the map there must be a small island called faggot. Sorry.
