Long post warning it should be worth the read thought,

Scottish football. Where is the good and where is the bad? Well where to start. The good?. That's the question I'm struggling on, no old firm games, what's on the pitch is below par, its always been a 2 horse race? Other than the old flash where it's a 4-3 game it's pretty poor. As of next season we need to start playing our football in July and play 3 qualifiers just to get into the the CL. Whoever wins the spl gets around 2/3m? However if you come last and relegated you get 900k. Below that if you win division 1 you get £68,000? As you can now guess its time for the bad. On this topic it brings up yesterday's league talks. I don't like the split idea however the money for smaller clubs like above is shocking. Why is this the case though? IMO it's down to the powers at be behind scottish football. Scottish refs are below par is about the only way I can put it while still being polite lol. Week in week out its shocking decisions happening across the whole board, I totally except human error however the level of referring is just short of amature level yet these refs still get a call in the biggest stage of Europe and still make a mess there?. for next season we have no league sponsor, the SCLC is funded by crime and the scottish cup is funded by a bookmaker. Taking this all into mind we have the rangers saga where the powers behind scottish football couldn't make a call on what punishment they could give rangers or bribe them into division 1 the term kangaroo court always springs to mind. After all of the above Neil Doncaster gets a wage rise while we have clubs who are going to maybe hit the wall next season, no league money & a sky deal that isn't breaking the bank. One way money gets into scottish football is via Europe more so CL but whoever if they get there that Is shouldn't have the thought of scottish football on there mind. We have 3 stadiums in Glasgow properly all with in a 10 mile radius which altogether hold 150,000 these belong to celtic rangers & QOS, Dundee have 2 stadiums about 100 feet apart. From the forth road bridge to the tay bridge you have around 5/10 stadiums. 42 teams for a country of this size is always going to have hell cats writin all over it. How can/does it work? But that's the case IMO it doesn't!

So what's the point of this post? If you have just read that above and it isn't black and white what's wrong with our country. I really think its going to hit the fan if clubs hit the wall then why do we need a SFA etc? To say we will be a Irish league IMO is still being kind to us. I think we could go off the tv rader completly. I still say Germany have it Sussed out €15 a ticket and always jumping. We pay £27 to see Aberdeen away.

Scottish football has been a dying case for a long time now, IMO let its rot. It's properly going to be the only way the SFA will fall and then reform a totally new set up. Even have a rule in where 2/3 scottish players must be in the starting 11?

Feel free to either rip this post to shreds or add anything I've missed out.

It's a sad day but IMO the coffin lid isn't far away as people think

how can gilmour say his club voted sevco into the third div when spl clubs voted not to allow the new club to begin its first season in the top flight was it not the good grace of sfl clubs that allowed this fledgling outfit to begin life in their leagues without the correct accounts gave the buddies credit when it was due for their fantastic cup win but all good will is now gone his decission to vote no has the smell of rotten flesh all over it I know it you know it and so does he and he should be told or is he going to sue
everyone let's hope they meet them on their journey some where in the lower leagues then see what gilmour gets for the club he's trying to sell unless green has some of his bent pals lined up to take it for his vote

Interesting read from the stock market website.

Rangers International Football Club Plc closes deep in the red, exhibiting a percentage loss of -5. 34% at end of trade. The security opened at the same level as the previous session's close, and despite prices falling during the day, it closed just off the day's highest level. The weekly analysis of the security and the UK FTSE All Share shows Rangers International Football Club Plc losing relative strength against the index.

So is this pointing to a suspension in trading.

Not sure I agree with all the 'move Emilio to LM' comments.
He gets caught up the field a lot but if we had any other attacking players then he wouldn't need to be bombing up the pitch every attack, he could save it for more opportune moments, as it is he Matthews and Lustig are the only players who offer us width.
Also, playing him at LM would mean him seeing more of the ball and I don't think his passing or crossing is really up to that, although he put in some wonderful balls on Sunday.
I think when full backs are that attacking you have to accept they will get caught out of position, its up to the sitting midfielders and, at times, the LM to provide cover

tale of the tape for season 2012/2013

FORSTER- peaks and troughs and needs to become more consistent; looks like he may want to be elsewhere or seems to think he doesn't need to turn up every week. rating 7/10. needs to mature

MATHEWS - a very good season with injuries spoiling his contributions over the course; can defend and attack and a definite starter next season subject to a good pre season rating 8/10

LUSTIG - still unsure; has a bit of the Rogan about him; does the simple things well and decent in the air but not too sure if he merits a starting slot 6/10

IZZY - dreadful domestically in defence and doesn't seem to improve on weaknesses; great crosser and a willing runner but a new system to "protect" him when he careers forwards would assist; not sure if Lennon has it in his locker to find a balance that will allow IZZY to stay in a winning team - 6/10

ENTIRE CENTRE BACK CORE INCLUDING AMBROSE. WILSON. AND MULGREW. GERSHON ETC. - a very poor season domestically and this area of the team needs major surgery. Wilson gets pass marks and Mulgrew gets my nod for a CB slot OR we get in a new CB. aggregate rating of 5/10. When Mulgrew believes his own hype that spels bad news for us. Chuck is a better underdog than prima donna

KAYAL - still not recovered his form when 1st arrived; too negative 5/10
BROWN - actually thought he done okay and matured in to a decent captain; definitely makes a difference when he is in the team and hope that he comes back stronger next season - 8/10
WANYAMA - oddly he hasn't developed in to the commanding midfielder I had hoped for; definitely a starter (if he stays) but he seems to have become smaller, and less interested which is a worry for a 22 year old. 6. 5/10
LEDLEY - maturing nicely and seems like a lad that wants to actually be here; good vice captain material and a definite starter but needs to work on his pace a little. good engine and generally makes good decisions. 8/10
FORREST - needs to build confidence and get back to hitting bye lines and getting shots away with his left peg. expected a lot more this season (injuries aside) but he seems to have gone backwards. 6/10
COMMONS - great goals to games ratio but I still think he is a little heavy and heavy legged. but total composure in front of goal and deserves to start next season possibly ahead of a middle two in support of a lone striker (assuming we have 2 good attacking wide/and cutting inside options)
MCCOURT - a roy of the rovers sub when on form but I think the show has come to an end for and Ireland's answer to george best - 4/10

HOOPER - dreadfully poor for past 4 months and this has taken a sheen of the season; definitely got it in his locker though but is a dead cert to leave in the summer. overall 6/10
STOKES - an enigma for many and still so young but plays like a man with too many demons. not a starter but a good pre season and who knows. 6/10
SAMARAS - out left all day long as a supporting player. more wing than midfield but can go for 90 minutes. if we could get him in the box when the opportunity presents itself then all the better. a definite starter out left! 7/10
MIKU - cheerio 3/10
LASSAD cheerio 3/10
WATT - needs a good pre season and settle down again. the barca goal may not turn out to be the making of him. we expect too much perhaps. 5/10

definite starters then
forster, adams, wilson, mulgrew, Izzy (?), Ledley, Brown, Samaras, Commons, Stokes (?) and a new centre forward OR we stick in Forrest which would give us a back 4. Lesley / brown in middle. samaras out left. forrest out right. commons supporting stokes. with watt/rogic/kayal in the wings (assuming wanyama and hooper go). if that happens then the money would be used to bring in 3 player types (a winger. a centre back and a striker)

MARCO Rojas has been rewarded for an outstanding season by claiming the Johnny Warren Medal, amid speculation he may have played his last match for the Melbourne Victory.

The winger's award helped quell some of the disappointment from Victory's semi-final loss to Central Coast on Sunday but it will only heighten interest in the 21-year-old.

Rojas beat a star-studded field in polling 908 votes, ahead of Sydney FC's Alessandro Del Piero (449), Mariners' Daniel McBreen (280) and Michael McGlinchey (239), and Adelaide's Dario Vidosic (222).

The Kiwi's breakthrough season saw dozens of scouts attend Victory games and it's understood one club may have tabled an offer, with Rojas's father and manager, Roddy, refusing to entertain talks of a Victory contract extension.

SIGN HIM UP!!!!
The boy is a star!!

Ed, you know a bit about Crewe, what's this midfielder Luke Murphy like that's mentioned in DR today?Less than £2m fee mentioned.

Jungle Bhoy. {Ed001's Note - he is a quality player, Celtic were interested last season, but Crewe were losing Powell and Westwood and not listening to offers for him. Plus he had a few injuries, which meant a lot of clubs wanted to wait and see how he recovered. The lad is what you might call a typical Crewe academy product, a ball player, who wants to get the ball down and pass it around. He has decent movement off the ball, always looking to latch on to a ball on the edge of the box and has a decent work rate, neat touch and good awareness of what is going on around him, can pick a pass too. Can score some good goals as well, see the recent JPT final for evidence of that! Murphy deserves top flight football, he is far too good for the level he is at, technically. Unfortunately, for him, he plays in England and isn't 6ft 4", built like a bodybuilder with lightning pace, so he is not as in demand as he should be for his ability. Crewe will let him move on in the summer, they know he needs it for his own personal development, as he is too good for League 1. Incidentally, they have a lad called Matt Tootle (as well as Leitch-Smith and Max Clayton) that Celtic, amongst others, have also shown interest in. Worth keeping an eye on too, even though he is playing way out of position on the left wing for them a lot lately, he is naturally a right back.}
