Is Dillon not banned for Wednesday? since it was a strait red? I know its a cup game but dose that not apply to that game?

I think we did nor play to our potential and Dundee United might have had a penalty soft though it would have been but as gj says we would have been shouting for it. Now for the point I was going to make I for once thought the officials did ok today so a big thanks from me for that they let the play go as much as they could and seamed fair overall

We look like we miss Armstrong & GMS already when they don't play. Both definite starters imo. Shows how well they have both fitted in since signing.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

16 Mar 2015 17:16:56
Both Armstrong and GMS are very valuable additions to our squad, I am not sure that they will always be automatic choices for first team places . Stokes was better yesterday than Armstrong has been in some games since Armstrong joined. Similarly even though we have seen him play some very good matches, taking the ball in deep positions and running at players to maximum effect, other days he has seemed to be out of touch with the game. Wèe James can be similar, so I am not sure who would be first choice .

Well done Ronny and the players one down two to go.I am not going over the top as it's only the league cup, but the importance to Ronny was huge.I was also a bit frustrated today and would like your thoughts.

I was a bit disappointed if I am honest.I did not think we played that well and Utd deserve a lot of credit for not buckling after the sending off.I also thought we were very lucky not to concede a penalty, if it had been the other way round we would have been screaming for it.

Seems a lot of Celts think Stokes had a 'great' game, I did not see it.I thought he was guilty of missed passes and some stupid decisions. Forrest has also earned praise, why? Johanssen did the spade work for his goal, held it brilliantly to tee him up, and made it an easy finish.I also thought he was very selfish at the penalty and showed he is not a team player.

Guidetti needs a goal. badly.Broony has had a week of it from the press. Why not let one of them take it? Would that not have been a great gesture in a all in it together way? Pretty bad form I thought. Having said that why are we playing Guidetti? It seems likely that he will be off at the season end so would it not make more sense to play Scepovic?

But a win is a win, more so in a cup final, so I suppose it might be churlish to mump too much, but I am not exactly over confident for the replay.Utd can play, and with Cifci back it will be even tougher midweek but we do have some momentum, surely this will drive us.

15 Mar 2015 19:16:22
Pretty much agree with most of what you say. After the 2nd goal we seemed to slow a bit and made an awful lot of mistakes and bad decisions in the final third. I must admit I was pleased Forrest didn't let Guidetti take the penalty (until he took it) because I have no time for him.

Overall obviously pleased we won but wasn't too happy with the performance. Stokes was better than usual but come the summer I would hope him and forrest are moved on.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2015 19:18:46
GJ I agree it is strange. Perhaps Ronny has decided to punt Scepovic, otherwise why not play him?. JG has never even hinted at staying with us so why play him?
The replay will be tough, I imagine United will roll their sleeves up for this one, expect them to be fired up with a stronger team.

15 Mar 2015 19:24:56
I'm still undecided about penalty. Obviously if Griffiths or Commons were still on pitch, I don't think anyone would argue when I say one of the 2 would of hit penalty. As much as Guidetti wants away, I think he would of been the best chance of a goal.

I stand by what my opinion is of Forrest, simply not good enough. I counted 4 times he could of passed ball and decided to be greedy and go himself. Regardless if he scored today or not, he must be punted in the summer

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2015 19:50:53
Total agree GJ and DN, I would go further and not play gudietti or forest, the super Swede doesn't want to be here, and I don't rate forest at all.
Really pleased for Ronny, he's going to be a great manger like LENNON.
Hail Hail.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Mar 2015 20:12:17
DaBhoyBhoy I'm the same opinion. I wouldn't play Guidetti for number of reasons. He wants away and after promising start he seems to have forgotten what a goal is.

15 Mar 2015 20:43:22
Have to disagree I'm 1 of stokes biggest critics but credit where it's due he worked hard and had some lovely touches thought he had a great game and was just behind stefan for MOTM.

15 Mar 2015 21:00:22
I don't agree with most fans opponion of Forrest. I agree with RD on this. I also believe he has talent and its injuries that have held him back. A lot of people have eaten humble pie in the case of the manager, if the work they are doing with him behind the scenes pays off and next season he puts his injury troubles behind him then I think a lot of fans could end up eating humble pie in respect of forrest. If he plays to his potential one side and GMS is on the other things could be pretty amazing next season. Markie

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2015 21:13:40
Markie my opinion about Forrest was made a few seasons ago in the cup game against Ross County and he has done nothing to change my mind or eat humble pie, now or in future.

He is not a team player, too greedy on ball and offers nothing to the team. However although he missed penalty today, with designated penalty takers off the field I think he had more right than anyone to take penalty as he earned it

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2015 21:25:47
Markie, would love some humble pie reguards forest, he's far to injury prone and it's not as if he hasn't had chances. He's reminds me of paddy mc court, skill to burn and great to watch but injury prone and a bit lazy.
Punt in the summer.

15 Mar 2015 22:07:24
Usually agree with most off gj and dn30. Posts but I think if we look into it more like the coaches do, as in training, attitude, etc we'd possibly find that they are the tradesmen that look at players as the tools they work with and in looking at it this way, it doesn't matter if guidetti wants to stay or not, he use s him as best option for the job ( rightly or wrongly ) , personally I don't think there are many in our team just now that I would say we couldn't replace or do without, just to touch on the guidetti, scepovic situation, to me the swedes the better option even though he's went of the boil scoring wise he brings more to the general play of things than the boy who really didn't want to be here in the first place

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2015 23:16:35
Rubbish, it was not close to being a penalty. Celtic dominated from start to finish. Jackie played every man behind the ball

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Mar 2015 23:35:47
DN, I have to agree. Forest is greedy and while it is good to have a player with confidence he also has to know when to accept that someone else might be in a better position than he is. That's what makes a team player and I am afraid he is not one.

Agree2 Disagree0

16 Mar 2015 11:38:30
The argument about if forrest is good enough I won't argue as itsjust personel opinion, although the coaches and managers that see him in training every day all rate him highly. I definately agree his injury prone. Buti don't agree he's greedy. he's a winger whos job it is to beat players. he's not any more greedy than GMS in that respect. And in terms of being greedy he couldn't lace mcgreadys boots. Watch how ofter he squares the ball when he should compared to other wingers. he did it yesterday for yohanson. Markie

The problem with most posters, is they make up their minds about something and nothing will change that opinion .
Green Jhedi, through my green tinted glasses, it certainly wasn't a penalty .
The D U player put his arm across Brown's chest to push Brown off, Brown 's arm came out to steady himself and then he gave the D U player a bit of a shoulder, but the poor D U player near hurt himself in his dive to the floor .
If we played the game to the Orange tinted glasses, then I am sure that managers would have their players better trained in penalty protocol .
I must be different from others, as I go to the games to watch the game, appreciate what we do well and who plays well, and so many other things, about the least of my priorities would be counting the wrong decisions one of our players might make .
Anything to prove the dislike a poster may have.

I thought he played ok I like him so I probably would say that lol
But I think next year if he is still with us he will be a squad player.
Also think there will be a BIG clear out in the Summer and at least 4 new faces coming in? With at least 3 of them first team players

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Mar 2015 10:34:42
Thought he was awful, gave everything he touched away 1st half, slightly better in 2nd.Shoots when he should pass, passes when he should shoot. One of the worst on the park IMO

Agree0 Disagree1

16 Mar 2015 17:41:54
Stokes was playing, mostly down in front of me in the second half . In the first half although playing at the furthest end of the park from me, I could see Stokes was doing well and causing lots of damage to Dundee Utd .
In the second half it was if Izzy and him were putting on a special display for end of the pitch . The number of successful one two's resulting in some great and some good and some not so good was a joy to behold . If we could strike up the same partnership and get the same volume of crosses in and chances created from the RHS. We would be on a good thing .

15 Mar 2015 16:02:23
Surely they cannot defend him after today, he has stutttered and stumbled his way through the half and every time the ball goes near him the stadium holds it's breath.
To be fair Izzaguire on the other wing is also under par and if we upped the pace and went for the kill this United team are there for the taking; but as it's stands they are still a mistake, penalty or wonder goal away from an equaliser and Stokes, Griffiths and Commons need to be more clinical.
We need to stop playing at their pace and win the cup in style

Agree1 Disagree1

15 Mar 2015 16:19:08
Apart from a few simple passes he hasn't done a single thing right and hid on the touchline. Don't think the rest if the team have any confidence in him be cause he hasn't been involved in a single bit of the attacking play. Its clear we lack width and attacking options on the right with him in the team.

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Mar 2015 16:20:26
Agreed izzy has been dodgy to! But this guy is shockin! How anyone can press disagree is unreal! Every time that ball goes near him everybody in that stadium and watchn on tele knows he's going to make a mess of it! The person who pressed disagree go back and check how many times under no pressure at all he's made a mistake in that 1st half! It's actually frightening! And Raphael schidt(spelling lol) didn't get half the chances this guys had! He was shipped out after a hand full of games! This has been constant now for over 2 years! Enoughs enough!

16 Mar 2015 18:01:36
Oh! You anti Ambrosse fans . How many games has this terrible defender played in over the last four weeks . How many Goals has Celtic conceded . How many times did a colleague of his have to make a last ditch effort to safe guard the Celtic goal after one of these " Ambose " blunders .
I know Ambrose had a few careless moments but by and large yesterday Ambrose was brilliant bursting out on the over-lap to change defence into attack .

I am aware of Ambrose having a few careless touches, and we all heard the corresponding moans. However after numerous bits of fine Ambrose play resulted in the loudest applause and calls of encouragement, more than any other player got .

It takes a very special type of Celtic supporter, to leave a cup final viewing after about 20mins of match o not only criticiize a Celtic player but also a great number of Celtic supporters who throughout the match supported Ambrose . Maybe Wiss67 maybe you are wrong and the thousands of Celtic fans are right .
Did u watch the rest of the match?

Agree0 Disagree1

16 Mar 2015 21:10:21
Aye a watched the whole match!! Did u?? It's a fact that the guy made umpteen unforced errors in that 1st half! Twice the ball went out for a Dundee Utd throw in because this diddy ran it out the park with no body there! Rankin in on goal because bombscare dived in like a mad man as usual! Dundee Utd got a free kick on the edge of our box because his usual clumsy challenge when caught out position!! Have u actually been to a celtic game? Everybody from the players to fans hearts are in there mouths anytime he's on the ball near our box!! And did see him bursting up the right wing in the 2nd half and nearly clear the bloody stand with his cross! Guys a total liability and shouldn't be anywhere near the team! Nothin or nobody will convince me otherwise!!

Morning Celts. There is nothing quite like waking on a Sunday with a cup final to look forward to.Got one worry though.Broony.

I find it strange that Celtic or Ronny have not issued a statement re his day off.Now don't get me wrong, the boy was on a day off and it would be stupid to mention his fitness and attitude as we see his commitment every week.Having said that he is the Captain of Celtic. When you have that responsibility you need to be careful and not get caught doing anything that might come back and bite you on the ass.

Which brings me back to Celtic and Ronny. Why the silence? For me it boils down to two things.Firstly, Broony might be out of the starting line up.I hope this is not true as we will be weaker without him, and it would hand Utd an enormous psychological lift. The fact is Ronny seems to be a stand up guy and we know his thoughts on this kind of behaviour. Will he leave him out?

Secondly, Is our silence a stand against the soon to be chip wrapper that published it? Were they mischief making using old pics? If you had said that to me initially I would have thought you paranoid, but after ED007 showed two pics I think there might be something strange here. The hair is very different for sure.Longer than the pic promoting the game for sure.Interesting. You can bet your ass Ronny will be quizzed on this pre match, first question I would imagine.

Lastly, I really hope Forrest does not start.Yes the boy has had injuries, but GMS has done more in a couple of hours game time than James has in two years.Time to prove he has a future here, but not today. Good luck all.

GJ I posted a couple of days ago that I would play Fisher right back with Mathews in front of him, as I think Mathews puts in more of a shift, especially tracking back than Forrest also hope Biton is passed fit as we have come to rely on him beside Brown, decision is on other wing also do we play Stokes there with Commons just behind Griffiths, I am a "Martin O.Neill" on big cup days worried until game is over, I think it may go to extra time and the "old cynic" in me expects Madden to give United a penalty, you heard it here first.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Mar 2015 11:43:18
Gj I think broonie will play. I think he will play well. Can't help but wonder if it was someone less popular they wouldn't be dropped. Likewise the defence of broonie on here think it's because he is a popular figure and the defence for others may not be the same. Eg ambrose Forrest the usual suspects. But like I said I think he will play and play well. So any other side show and split amongst our own support and the picture has won. We should have won more trophies than we have in recent years( not a dig at nl as I'm a massive nl fan) but the fact is we should have, so we should remain fully focussed and United on the most important thing. Winning part one of three. Now onto the team, I think we are missing one player. The team all but names itself imo but without Armstrong or gms I think we are light in danger men. Forrest or stokes will prob get the nod but for me neither do enough. That's my only concern for today. But I think we will be ok. For what it's worth my team would be Gordon Matthews izzy vvd den biton brown johanson commons forest gritthiffs. Forget the pic everyone we need to be together today mon the champions

Great post Green. It is perplexing.

But look: they bhoys have been grafting lately. So many games. Scot's entitled to it the same as we are, in likely celebration this evening. Will Ronny play him? Does he have any choice? He's at the height of his powers and as I think Ed007 said already an all time Celtic great. I don't see Ronny taking umbrage either, he's far too composed. let's just forget about it.
