Nimmo-Smith tribunal sits two weeks today for three days. Having been postponed giving Green time to float.
Comet, he's sops, rangers, hmv. Liquidation means the end, you cannot buy history. If new rangers went into English football the FA would stop the sports direct guy owning Newcastle and rangers. Only the compliant SFA allows that.
Believable5
Unbelievable2
The whole thing is a shambles.Green claimed the refusal of the CVA was the end of rangers. Then he buys the assets, for a very questionable price, and starts his same club nonsense. All that can be hoped for is that Nimmo-Smith and BDO have more b*lls than the spineless SFA who have done nothing but bend rules for this "club" since administration. He was also on STV claiming that no titles would be stripped while he was there. No one is stripping titles from his club, they have none, but the usual press suspects continually let this slide. Imagine if Mr Lawwell claimed we had paid a club £800k we owed, for over two years, and the club said we had not paid. How long do you think it would take for them to chase this story up? I suspect five minutes! Seen much of the Rapid debt in the press?............green jhedi

Jessops and comet retailed electrical goods, hmv sold music, historical old rangers played football. There's no special case for football, failed CVA and liquidation means the end. No more trading using those styles logos branding. All three entities mentioned are bigger than rangers, bigger employers, bigger property owners, bigger turnover, but even they cannot break the law. Hmv was founded in 1921 and openned its first shop, if liquidated its history stops and becomes part of history. No new shop can buy that founded date and pass itself off as the original historic hmv. It cannot say it sold x thousand records, 1970s, 1980s, etc... Why is Charles green saying he bought a liquidated football club and saved it when he clearly didn't? And why are normally sane intelligent people going along with that? When inside every one of them knows its untrue and not possible.

Deliberately withholding details of loans to SPL players during each registration is illegal. Every game those players ran out in is a 3-0 default to the opposition.
Even if morally reprehensible, tax avoiding offshore EBT payments are legal, they were not personally declared for each player and the regulations were broken over 11 years.
Agree3
Disagree1
There is an ongoing conspiracy in this country to break the law and allow Green's newly founded football club to get away with being the old historical Rangers. I'm convinced some people have been bought off, others are clearly pro rangers and always have been and others are scared to speak out.
Everyone should raise this history issue over the next two weeks on all media pointing out its not the same rangers. Lobby Nimmo-smith, the SFA, SFL, etc....don't sit back and let them get away with it.

Here is a question to everyone . If they can keep their history why can they not keep their debt ?

craig burley has got to be the biggest dumpling that has ever represented celtic football club. the sooner he's claiming job seekers the better, for any one who pays a rediculous subscibstion fee to a certain channel, good luck. he's enough to make me go back to radio.

This guy has to be the most non-complimentary pundit I have heard commentate on any of our games
His blatant attempt to sound like his compatriots down south is truly cringe-worthy He has in the past and still continues to make crass statements about everything under the sun about the game, does he not realise that he's supposed to be entertaining us as Celtic fans not making cheap jibes about the club that fed him

Listen never mind all that. I just can't comprehend the guy played top flight football in scotland and in the premiership for 15 years, and yet he's a f*cking football illiterate! I had to turn the sound down again tonight as i did on sunday during the Man Utd v Liverpool match. He talks absolute garbage about the game of football. When analysing a game he makes Iain Dowie sound like Cantona. How do the english punters stomach it? I mean its clear s*y don't care that we, and when i say we i mean everyone in scotland can't stand listening to him. So its down to the english. They must like him, or find the silly scotsman who talks nonsense about the game amusing. Its a head scratcher for sure.

I honestly think that Craig Burnley has a thing against Celtic, even when we are 2-1 up he can't bring himself to say anything good at all. What a negative bar steward .he should not be allowed to comment on any Celtic games.

would like to say that if wanyama, hooper played in the premierleague they would easily both be worth 15 adn 10 million respectively but we have to be real here the spl is in a diabolicle state and no team what so ever is going to give us that sort of money. we will be very very lucky if anyone bids near 10 for wanyama, its fantastic that our finances are sorted and we don't have to sell these guys on the cheap but no ones going to give us the sort of figures that have been branded about. the spl is a joke and english fans laugh at out league so there is no chance of use getting those sort of fee's.

Am I the only person who actually thinks the league restructure sounds pretty good?
Even if its not perfect its still a hell of a lot better than the current incarnation.
One problem as I see it is that the lack of meaningless games will hinder the national team as these are the games where young players can be blooded.

I posted this yesterday- but I agree.
I actually like it. And would welcome seeing it in action.
Look, the fact is, the SPL/Premiership/Top Division, whatever you want to call it, is always going to be dominated by 1 of 2 teams, and the race for the title will almost always be between these teams. So it becomes about making the rest of the league interesting, and I think this is an interesting proposition.
The middle eight would certainly lead to some excitement, and with the amount of games on offer, it would be difficult for anyone to 'skoosh' it. So some seasons all four Premiership teams could be relegated, or none at all. And if a Hearts, or Aberdeen or the like find themselves in the bottom four after 22 games, then tough titty- prove you deserve to be in the top league by winning the middle eight.
My only real concern, I say concern but I don't think it's being explained yet, so maybe someone else can answer this:
What would the bottom eight, ie the eight from the second division, be playing for, other than avoiding relegation?
The bottom four would be relegated/playoffs etc with the 'National League' of eighteen, but above that- nothing? As far as I can tell they wouldn't get a thing- so if you were, let's say fifth at the split, and quite a bit ahead, when the split happened, you'd then have nothing to play for?
If this is the case, we should look to incentivise this section.
Finally, to those who say we can't change now, it should be with a season notice etc, this is actually the best way. If you were to announce changes with a season to play, the numbers would drop off. At least this way, it's only half a season- as opposed to 'next' season being pointless. I don't know if we, as a footballing country, can have an entire season calender marked off as 'pointless' before it's begun.
The fact is, this isn't about Celtic and Rangers, but the whole of the game here- and while I sympathize for fans who have bought season tickets etc, it's the only way. A way to deal with that would be to help fans next season with some sort of financial reward- so if you bought a season ticket this year, you get 15% off next year etc.
I would like to see it for a season or two and see how it works out. At the end of the day, it probably affects us less than anyone else.
The Patient

I agree that it probably isn't about Celtic or eventually, Rangers.
Ideally it would be great to see the top increased with clubs but the reality is, all this would achieve is diluting the quality.
I cannot get my head around the split either where Clubs go back to 0 points part of the way through the season. I don't like the split now & I doubt I'll like any of these future suggestions.
At the moment the only thing I 'like' is the 12/12/18 format ~ Mrs E

With Valdes possibly on his way out of Barcelona it wouldn't surprise me if they were interested in Forster considering he was outstanding in both games against them. Only weakness in his game is his kicking which I suppose is quite important for even the goalie at Barcelona

Hooper a decent player at best we can replace him no bother we no English teams pay crazy money for players so lets get as much as we can for him because he doesn't want to be at park head I think he has got a high opinion of himself well what I really mean is he thinks he is better than what he is

The difference with hooper and wanyama is if wanyama goes fair play to him but hooper has been winging for a move since the day he signed
Agree0

@3, fair play to both!! Being classed as a striker and actually being decent at it are 2 different things, with the goals he's scored you can only expect interest in him and fair play, only the persons will give him a hard time about wanting to better himself or "go home"! Selective memory also as you'll find it was Wanyama that said he was using Celtic as a stepping stone to better things..... Which I still wouldn't hold against him.

To all ' fans' complaining about signings or the lack there of and bargain basement players. It has been proven in the recent past especially that Celtic as a club and a business are very astute and clever in the transfer market, wanyama, kayal, hooper, watt and ambrose to name a few. Recently if reports are to be believed the guys we have on trial at the moment fit that model perfectly. So please tear up your fifa or football manager wishlists and let the club do their thing, I'm sick of reading about alleged people in the know, or my mates grans, vets dogs best friend says this that and the other.
