I see tony watt is playing some great stuff with charlton as he's now getting a good run of games, think he still has the potential to become a real good player. Would anyone else take him back at celtic? HH

15 Aug 2015 19:36:21
In a word "no" .

Agree3 Disagree3

15 Aug 2015 20:38:03
He was let go for reason, and it's still happening at charlton!
Attitude!! If he grew up he'd be really good.
A shame because he's twice the player of scepovic, and he cost us decent money!

Agree2 Disagree1

15 Aug 2015 20:59:45
From a fans perspective we let a really good player go. There's too many wise heads criticised him though. The job he's doing, is a good one, but only at Championship level. Our targets nees to be much higher than that, and SPFL, and Scottish Championship.

Agree2 Disagree2

15 Aug 2015 21:44:48
I've read interviews with Ronny before where he's mentioned that Johansen had a bad attitude when he first worked with him and that he managed to knock the attitude out of him and turn him into a great player. I really thought he'd keep Watt and try and do the same with him. The boy has everything ability wise. Really disappointed we let him go. Maybe his attitude is just unmanagable. I know that the Summer after he scored against Barca he was walking around Magaluf saying "do you know who I am". Who knows how he'd be now if he hadn't scored that goal. It went to his head

Agree3 Disagree0

16 Aug 2015 00:03:18
I thought that Ronny would like Watt, as his coaching is all about turning players around. He must've thought he wasn't worth the effort in my opinion

Agree2 Disagree0

16 Aug 2015 14:35:14
Maybe it depends on the degree of "bad" that Watt has πŸ˜‹πŸ˜€πŸ˜‡

Johandson may not have been nearly as bad a Watt .
Watt got his chances at Celtic, he burnt his bridges with us , time we moved on .

Was waiting to see if anyone else would dust down the old Alfie Conn song of the 70.s and give it a modern twist, oh well here it is.
He used to be a person but he's Alright Now. Scottie, Scottie Allan. lol

Steve Dundee-Your awful quiet about the Allan deal after the abuse you gave me a few weeks ago saying This deal would never go through!!Brilliant don't worry I'll keep you right

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Aug 2015 22:13:38
Just a thought. If Scott Allan is such a good buy for us, why didn't we identify that weeks ago and put a bid on for him? If we are scouting players why did we only buy him after all the Rangers stuff blew up? We obviously hadn't done anything as PL only approached a week ago after getting assurances from his agent that he would accept a deal? Any idea Bhoys?

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2015 23:00:01
Am sure I heard at the end of last season Ronnie was interested in Allan, its only a coincidence that The rangers happenned to try to sign him at the same time as Celtic, when you think about it ,why would'nt Ronnie be interested in a young talented Scottish player who has just won the championship player of the year, maybe because he's Norwegian and he's not into all this celtic rangers shit.

Can anyone advise on when the new museum and superstore are to be built adjacent to the bottom of the Celtic Way on London Rd?
What other projects are in the pipeline for the surrounds of Celtic Park
Thanks

It's great to see the surrounding area looking the way it is now. The banners on the side of the stadium are fantastic so hopefully there are plenty more projects to come.

Just goes to show the importance of our captain Scott Brown missed game on Wed against killie and just away from game today he was excellent and soon as he goes off like the team has no drive, and as for boyata dear oh dear 2 shocking mistakes let's hope he's used them all up for game against malmo

Believable7 Unbelievable2

15 Aug 2015 18:43:30
Ironically I text pretty much the same to a mate of mine not long after leaving the game today so you are spot on greenandwhiteknight.

On another issue, the atmosphere at Celtic Park continues to be quite sterile and is further reinforced watching Borussia Dortmund right this moment with the constant noise of their fans despite the fact they are already 4-0 up against Borussia Moenchengladbach!

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Aug 2015 19:36:40
Haha Dortmund prices are cheap and there team is full of top quality players.

I don't blame fans for struggling to get excited as the drop in quality and standards since the early MON years has been ridiculous.

But we still support as best we can!! I hope RD can deliver good football but will be hard with cheap budget signings.

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Aug 2015 19:47:55
I agree today when Brown was on the team I thought we were brilliant . To me we were so good that we made Caley look very, very ordinary .
With Brown's energy and drive Celtic will be too much for Malmo . We need to play with the same intensity .
I wouldn't worry about young Boyata , he made two mistakes and paid the price for them . It's up to us fans to support him and help him to get over them .
Most defenders , especially young defenders make mistakes ,it doesn't necessary mean they are bad defenders .

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Aug 2015 21:01:41
Brown raises the whole team by about 50%. That's just the captain he is. Worth more than his weight in gold.

Agree4 Disagree1

16 Aug 2015 02:05:48
It really irks me when people keep calling Boyata this 'young' defender that'll learn from his mistakes. He'll be 25 in a few months, older than VVD and you only have to look back at Denayer last season to see how solid he was at 19. The guy will always switch off from time to time as he has proved continually throughout the season. I've lost count now how often he's given away needless possession under little or no pressure in games. If it was Ambrose he would be getting slaughtered. I'm very concerned about Boyata and you don't see Ambrose giving away possession nearly as much as Boyata(Although the big man has come up with vital goals for us so far this season). Also, for the people that also say he'll come good and be as good as if not better than Denayer which I don't understand how they can say he will not, nowhere near as comfortable with the ball at his feet as Denayer, tbf to Denayer also he chipped in with a few goals.

We were spoilt last season massively at CB and I took it for granted. Wish we could have the VVD/Denayer partnership back. :-(

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Aug 2015 14:47:16
Boyata is young , still not 25 . It's not long ago since a centre half was "starring " for another Glasgow team and he was either just under 40 or actually over the big four 0 .
Seriously Boyata having been at a very big English club that can spend 50 millions or more on players , hasn't had that much experience playing competitive first team football. So at 24 , he is both young and rather inexperience but should be just the right age to come good with Celtic .
One thing about Boyata is that Deila seem to be involved in that transfer from early on as he and Lawwell were photographed with Boyata in Manchester weeks before he signed .

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Aug 2015 16:33:54
Boyata is dodgy. Lapses of concentration every game. If we lose a goal on Wednesday he us my nominee for the balls up. I shudder to think how bad we will be defensively when VVD heads south for the winter.

I can't believe we never brought in a solid full back.

What am a talking aboot? Of course I can.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Aug 2015 16:46:43
I'm not saying he's an old player but at 24 he really shouldn't be giving away the ball so cheaply as often as he has. It's near every match he does it once or twice. How is bringing old man Weir up proving anything? Van Dijk and Denayer are younger than Boyata and they didn't make the same mistakes as he has.

Boyata was kept on at Man City simply because he came under there 'home grown quota' allowing them to bring in more foreign players. You'll recognise this by just how little game time he got at Man City because he was simply a bombscare for them and nowhere near good enough. You'll see since the likes of Guidetti, Boyata, Rekik, Milner all 'home grown players' or English players they have rectified that by signing Denayer up on a five year deal, signed Sterling and Delph(A signing simply to allow them to being more foreign players in.

I trust Ambrose more than Boyata personally, atm anyway. It wasn't long ago that we needed Ambrose and Lustig to keep us a clean sheet against Karagandy at Celtic Park and they delivered. Ambrose can handle these games bar the Juventus lapse aside under extreme circumstances with him just returning from the AFCON.

Not sure ticket prices make much difference to the atmosphere, it's got more to do with being able to stand on the terraces and have a beer or two. A know u can get a few in the pub before and after but it would help if we could have a couple during the match. Saying that u can if your minted.

In terms of the hunt for a striker, CB and LB we look to yet again be struggling to identify, target and bring players in early, if PL etc. know the potential financial rewards of getting into CL why is it we continually scramble about at the last minute. We know that VVD will be sold so let's get the business done now to get his replacement and other players in to give us the success we deserve. HH

Believable3 Unbelievable0

15 Aug 2015 19:55:52
Goldenbhoy I would like to think the quality of striker and centre back that we bring in may not want to come to play in Scotland unless Celtic can guarantee Champions League footballer .
I am sure if P Lawwell wanted to sign any standard of striker or centre back he would have done so already .

Jungle Jim , he has done a marvellous job for us since he came.
We are in a better financial position now , than when he joined us , despite the most severe depression since the 1930's . We have over achieved in Europe in a number of seasons due to the good work of the manager and scouts , but especially his ability to get the players signed at a reasonable price and maximising the price of players we are selling .

Davie 1980, it's all right. Just calm down you will be fine. I understand you are upset but put the blade down, cutting your wrists won't help anyone, will it? You know what your doctor said, at times of stress take deep breaths. that's it Davie, nice and deep. Good boy. I know you have had a lot to stress over the last few years and it's understadable that you are feeling suicidal, that's only natural son. There are 43,000 others just like you. Honest to God the health service is on red alert in case all the Bears do themself in on the same weekend. So Davie I just want you to know you are not alone. We feel your pain.

Now let's look at your problem. Davie step back from the edge, don't jump son, we can sort this out. Good boy.

Yes Peter has ben very naughty buying Scott. He shouldn't have done that. I will talk to him about that if you would just stand back a wee bit further from the edge, your making me a wee bit nervous here Davie.
Thats better.

Just think what you and the Bears have to look forward to. You have St Mirren and Alloa and Stranrar, that's nice isn't it whilst that naughty Celtic lot have European football yet agin! Anyway who want's to go to Barcelona and Rome this time of year? You can have a lovely day out in Dunbarton, they tell me it's really nice down ther on a Wednesday in February so look on the bright side. Maybe get a point down there? So there is a lot to look forward to isn't there?
Now we all understand that football is not your strongest point but its OK we all make monkeys out of ourself occasionally and we all say silly things don't we? If you keep on stressing you will come out in that nasty rash that looks like a combination of Charles Greens face and Ally McCoist arse and we don't want that happening to you again do we. So just step back a little bit more from the edge.

I really understand how hard it is for you right now, Dave King has come in with his millions and not invested any money at all. Nasty Mike Ashley still own all of your badges and merchandising rights and DK has promised to sort it all out but nasty Mike has not has his Β£5million back so he has you by the Bollo**s. Rangers remain unlisted and therfore your shares are worthless, the stadium, which you don't own anymore is in need of millions of pounds to repair it which you don't have and you have no scouting system to identify players that you can't afford to buy anyway so it's not all bad is it? Thinking about it, I would jump! See ya Davie.

I know people are upset over the Allan situation but this honestly made me chuckle head, from the football phone in

Hibs boss and ex-Celtic defender Alan Stubbs vowed not to sell Allan to Championship rivals Rangers from the outset and Jim Eadie, Maryhill, said: "I believe the Allan situation should be investigated because I'm convinced Hibs and Celtic have got together over this just to scupper Rangers."

Don't understand all this crap being talked about Allan being a rangers supporter,he is'nt the first one to play in the hoops,it says more of the small minds of the critics than anything else, and as rangers no longer exist it is no longer an issue,I think its a great signing,he's a very creative player, and the strikers should score more playing in front of him, even Scepcovic might start banging them in
