Commons.

Johansen.

16 Apr 2016 10:47:56
I would say Commons and Johansson.
Commons is maybe not the player he was a couple of years ago but he's still liable to produce something in a match that could really hurt us, and Johansson on his day is a decent player.
Even though both of them haven't been on their best form this season, I would still rather have them in our team than theirs.

16 Apr 2016 22:13:30
Gerryc what evidence is there that Commons could do us harm . He has featured so little over the last 3/ 4 mths that we cannot judge whether he still has it or not .
I suspect R D that sees him daily no longer feels Commons has much to offer or he would b picking him.

Agree old bhoy. That would be the reasonable explanation as to his prolonged absence.

Going to Ayr tomorrow for Scottish Grand National with Mrs T and the girls (softened them up by promising a nice meal in posh Ayr restaurant, all paid for by winnings last weekend) girls also chancing their arm by wanting a betting "kitty" from me also. So I will not be on tomorrow so putting up my tips tonight.
I am already on Cause of Causes at 11/ 1 which is my main bet, but I have another long shot, sadly only 40/ 1 this week STRAIDNAHANNA, again I recommend a small each way flutter with bookies paying 5 places. No promises or guarantees but think it will give me a run for my money.

Had a dream the other night about the game on Sunday and it was very realistic, so thought I'd share it with you all. Timalloy you might want to get this on at the bookies as I'm sure it'll be good odds. It's good news but a tight game sadly.

Anyway the team lined up as this 4-2-3-1. So. Gordon; Lustig, Boyata, Mulgrew, Tierney; Bitton, Brown; Roberts, Johansen, GMS; Griffiths.

The game starts with us pummelling them for the first 5-10 mins and we get the opening goal through Scott Brown of all people with a sort of scissor kick goal seemed a good finish, we then go 2-0 up in the next 5-10 mins after that, can't remember the scorer but we were cruising the game by the 20th minute 2-0 up and thought we were going to them steamroller then for 4 or 5 more with Sevco bricking it and us loving it. But it stays this scoreline till half time and we're all enjoying it and relishing it disappointed not to have been more ahead.

Sadly it all goes a bit wrong from here, Scott Brown gets himself sent off with a red card although from what I remember it was harsh from the ref (of course) and we were all calling the ref every name under the sun, our game plan changes slightly and it all gets even worse as the shame score two goals to equalise and bring the game back to 2-2 and we're all watching through our fingers at this point, but then in the last 10 mins thankfully to great relief and joy big Colin Kazim Richards scores and makes it 3-2 to us and we win the game although not as comfortably as it should have been or we'd have liked but just glad to get the win.

Looks like I've already wasted the game for everyone now lol but as long as we get the win that's the main thing.

It does not matter what you post, there are some people on the site who are either drunk, stupid, argumentative, think they are funny and just downright ignorant (disagree when a comment is made wishing sick kids or bereaved families best wishes) . They will click 'disagree' every time. There are, in fairness, members who genuinely disagree with a point or comment. For the genuine ones, I wish they would follow it up with their reasoning as it makes for a bit of banter/ discussion. (watch the disagrees on this post yet I think I have covered all aspects, but there will be 'disagrees with no rational comment to support)

Front page of the record today was hmrc are after old firm stars I never read it but does anyone know if any of our players are involved or was it just a case of the media taring us with the same brush.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed007's Note - I've not read the story but there are some people past and present involved with film companies - Bellamy and Lawwell are two that spring to mind. This is old news Gordo and was reported elsewhere years ago - I'll leave you to decide why the DR felt the need to print the story today.
As for CFC, the Club can't be held responsible for individuals stupidity and it's nothing to do with the Club what individuals do with their money so there's no need for any concern from supporters. As has been the case for many years now, CFC's finances are all legal and above board with all social taxes up to date. Would your boss get into trouble if you bought drugs with your wages or bought a car with a dodgy MOT? It's the same idea.}

15 Apr 2016 16:54:34
There is a half hearted attempt to say contracts were signed and then the film investments to save money were pushed over in front of gullible agents and players . Only desperate Rangers are expected to believe, it's amazing how many of their EBT's also tried to avail of film tax "loop-hole"

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Ah right, so they're trying to take the heat off the EBT recipients. Well I've done my bit for them, last night I told Barry Ferguson's father in law to tell him he can sleep in my hut if the taxman takes his house off him.}

15 Apr 2016 17:12:14
Ed, I had lunch years ago and touched on this a very knowledgeable guy mate

Apparently, Juhnino was paid this way in terms of his PAY OFF from the club rumour had the zombies tried to make hay of this and embroil us in there fiasco

Spurs had also done a similar thing too @ the same time I believe HMRC had concerns on this but CFC were by all accounts a pleasure to deal with given it was a disposal of someone an agreement was reached and CFC were encouraged @ that early stage never to embark on that route again. Spurs were fined mate

For the avoidance of any doubt CFC never gained as it was a severance type issue (y)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Juninho’s EBT was not subject to any contract or side letter whatsoever. Moreover, our then chairman, Brian Quinn, regarded EBTs with suspicion and instructed the club to declare Juninho’s to the Revenue. Celtic even paid tax on money paid to the EBT. That's the difference between having an Governor of the Bank of England as your chairman or having a shyster and cheat like David Murray.}

15 Apr 2016 17:35:02
Celtic only used one EBT and the way it was used was different from the way Rangers used them.

In our case we used one to terminate Junninho's contract and therefore did not have to declare it the SFA as it was for non-footballing activities. Also, when we realised that the scheme was dubious we paid the tax to HMRC. This is why we have never been investigated by HMRC or the SFA.

Any other scheme that was used has nothing to do with Celtic and relates to individuals.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - The individuals took a gamble and it's backfired on them - Hell mend them.}

15 Apr 2016 17:54:58
Thanks ed as I said I just seen the headline. I get you it's upto what the individual does with there own personal money as long as it doesn't involve our board directly. obvious why they have chosen today to print there pish but if that's the best they can come up with to unsettle our team then lmao.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The pain of the Zombies trying to score an equaliser using the personal investments of individual people is just delightful.}

15 Apr 2016 19:07:43
I also seen this, thought it was going to be about Desmond and try and unsettle us . After a quick flick to page 5? It was all rangers men of days past pictured . To be fair I never read the article but after seeing the pics my mind was put to rest.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Apr 2016 19:28:41
Exactly Ed, the gamble may backfire on the individuals who used tax avoidance schemes.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Apr 2016 19:22:18
Ed, delighted at that the case again my understanding from it is the old Rangers tried big time to include us in their punishment mate only for it to fall as they say" on a major deeefie" 😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - They're that desperate to cling onto our coattails that they'll try anything to drag us down to their level.
23rd April 2012: The SFA's independent judicial panel state that the offences committed by Rangers were only one step "lower than match fixing".}

15 Apr 2016 20:53:11
The records sites one player playing on Sunday anybody know who that is, Miller?

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Apr 2016 16:15:40
A couple of things about Sunday's game will talk about the actual football in a minute, but guys can I just say anyone going to the game be careful. The media have really built upthe new club's chances and the gullible have swallowed it hook line and sinker. Last year their expectations were low, this time they are all on Warbo's magic carpet ride, so when they get humped their disappointment will be far greater so please watch yourselves.
As we know the last 2 cup semi finals have resulted in blatant mistakes, ordering offs and penalties against Celtic. This game will be no different and with the media already targeting Brown for "bad tackles" he will be targeted by the referee, if it is a level playing field, we will walk all over them, so we need to keep 11 men on the park and not give the gleeful officials the chance for more "honest mistakes".

Believable3 Unbelievable0

15 Apr 2016 17:04:08
In fairness to Brown he has handled the white hot atmosphere against Newco last year and other tension filled games recently very well. Keeping 11 players on the pitch has to be a top priority . We have struggled too often 10v 11 too often . Usually we go down to 10 as a result of a debatable decision . It's seldom that we get the benefit of the doubt, but we all know this and cannot put any trust in Craig Thompson to err on our side tomorrow.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Apr 2016 17:49:37
Biton can be a contender for a card when the mood takes him.
I fear the refs may target big CKR.
Obviously all we want is the win, but I'm desperate to see us hammer them. The arrogance of that club (new and old) knows no bounds.
I'm going 5-1 us with goals from griffiths (2) Roberts Rogic boyata and SJ
That being said I'd settle with 1-0 with brown hitting one from outside the box again.
Let's all do the broony!

Hail hail.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Apr 2016 21:21:35
Timalloy everyone should keep their wits about them of course but from my experience the shame (same flies different jobby) are much worse winners, so we shouldn't be too worried about their reaction to getting pumped.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2016 23:49:08
Island Celt that's 6 goals. Not five. You talk about their arrogance and then say we will hit 6? Is that arrogance? Hmmmmmmmm.

15 Apr 2016 14:18:05
Can anyone tell me if a game against them has ever gone to penalties and if so what was the outcome? What are the odds of it going to pens on Sunday? Hope it doesn't, my heart couldn't take it!

Believable0 Unbelievable1

15 Apr 2016 15:15:22
Decent question. None in my lifetime. Drybrough Cup, 1974. After a 2-2 draw Celtic won 4-2 on pens apparently.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Apr 2016 15:54:46
Henrik the odds of game going to extra time or penalties is Sevco 22/ 1 extra time win, Celtic 10/ 1 win in extra time, on penalties it is 12/ 1 either team.

15 Apr 2016 12:38:58
As much as I like big John hartson some of the stuff he comes out with is guff! He's been on talk sport slating Ronny for saying this games just another game! I think if actually bothered to check before he opened his mouth he would find it was pep warburton that said that and Ronny disagreed with him! Come on to f**k big man! Don't give these sevconians any ammo! Check before u spout guff next time!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

15 Apr 2016 12:48:45
Agreed, it IS just another game. Although I want the new club pumped I also don't want to give them anymore credence to the claim they are the same club. The media gives them enough. The best line I've seen today was 'Celtic WILL sack Deila' and it's Macavenie talking. Any negative headline they can give, they will. Poor show.

I wonder are these former Celts who have swallowed the MSSM shilling, are they getting double money, for dishing up even more nasty, anti R D and anti Celtic than usual. Surely everyone knows that the regular anti Celtic low life that earned big money at Celtic, yet sold their soul for 30 pieces of silver, would be the last people to have an insider knowledge of Celtic plans.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Apr 2016 11:23:21
Regardless of the thoughts on Ronny, regardless of the new club scenario, regardless of the media hype around that mob, Sunday is the time to stand by the team, It's a time to make heroes, a time to show the tribute act we're more than a class above them. Let's put the negativity away and roar on the Bhoys. Tribute act or not I want to absolutely destroy them. Hail Hail folks!

I agree with you, there's nothing I'd love more than to give them a right hammering.
It would be great if we could make them realise that it'll take years for them to catch us up.
Hopefully the players realise what it means to the fans, and really turn on a show for us on Sunday.
