Ed everyone, is there any truth in this rumour about us trying to sign this CF Jonathan? And if so is he what we are needing?

Jonathas? Reported interest from Monaco. Certainly think he's the 'type' and figure we're after. But at the said £4m there's others i'd personally prefer.

It's been in many articles on news now Celtic , he's on loan at elche and has scored 13/14 goals in laliga and there were quotes of him saying that we are a massive club and stuff like that! But Iv never seen him play! Thought some one might know a bit more!

I think Finboggason was talked about in the past as a messiah , yet he hasn't cut it.
This Jonathas if it is true that he is a target is now quoted at £1.5 m . Just wonder with the current striker we bought from a Spanish team , do we want another .

{Ed007's Note - Finnbogason has been unlucky with injuries and hence struggled with his form this season, if we could get him in a cut price deal I'd snap Sociedad's hand off, throw in Scepovic as part of the deal, 4 million Euros and Scepovic. One bad season/move doesnt make you a bad player, look at how Sutton flopped at Chelsea.}

Scepovic plus cash for Finbogasson would keep me happy in the ST department.

I kind of buy into the whole Espanic/South American players not fitting into Scottish football thing. Scepovic (obviously Serbian) I think comes down to his attitude/ application not the country he was playing in. As for Finboggason perhaps he'd be more suited to our game than in Spain. It's more the CL we have to be thinking about with our next striker, not the SPFL. Griffiths is good enough for the league, but not for CL in my eyes. Not starting anyway.

I think finnbogason would still be a cracking signing! But still a risk ed do you know if we have lodged a bid for this LB Djiks of willem? It's about time we got the izzy some competition!

Jim Jim it may take less cash to buy Finnbossan without including Scepovic in the deal. I think Scepovic is another of a long line of strikers that for whatever reason hasn't made it at Celtic .
Maybe best that we get him moved out on loan and if by chance he scores a few , maybe we get rid of him permanently .

Should we, could we, did we ever have a chance of taking a punt on Charlie Austin before he went to QPR. Big strong prolific scorer doing same in EPL so much for his dodgy knee when we were linked with him before. Doubt we could afford him or his wages now

No point even mentioning Austin now mate,there's no chance of him coming to Scotland! He'll be back in the EPL next season.the days of us havin a chance of getting these guys are long gone! The over inflated wages for even the bottom clubs down there has seen to that! Good shout but because he'd score for fun up here!

We were interested when he played for Burnley around 3 years ago until it was discovered that his 'injury' problems which were well documented, might have been down to non football related matters...

Were we not linked with him twice? Was it not either him hooper or rhodes when he was at swindon and rhodes at huddersfield? Then linked again when Hooper was leaving but ended up going for watchamacallhim?

Yeh agree about him not coming here due to what's gone before. My point though was this knee thing and were we ever contenders for his signature. If we were we missed the boat on him his knee looks to be working well enough

He is suppose to be available at a cut-price , even if that is true I don't think he would be value for money or any addition to us.

I don't think he would be suited to celtic under deila. He always looks to be carrying excess weight and is not particularly mobile. Not only that he is not well suited to the loan striker role, you can see that with the lack of goals qpr had away from home when they played him up front on his own. I'm most saying he is a bad player (he actually reminds me of Hartson), just that I don't think he is suited to us at present.
