I just love Spanish football yesterday Ronaldo and Real Madrid gave me a nice wee earner, and tonight Barcelona in the shape of Messi, Neymar and Suarez, 2 penalties, over 2.5 goals and BTTS added to my bookies account.

Well done Timalloy. The Barcelona game shows why Messi is a better player than others. Passing at the penalty to ensure his team mate completes a hat-trick.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - he was passing to Neymar though....}

TinyTim I have been going on for months for people to lump on to these bets in Spain especially the penalty bets. Even though the bookies have cottoned on and cut odds (a Messi, Neymar and Suarez treble scorer used to pay odds over 20/ 1, now only about 4/ 1) and a penalty used to be about 6/ 1 now 5/ 2 it is still worth investing some cash as it usually pays off.
yes ED001 I had Neymar on my bets to score and was mad when Suarez ran on to penalty, Suarez also took another goal off Neymar as he touched it before it crossed the line, but luckily Neymar got his goal in last minute.
Bookies got it wrong last night with BTTS odds as they gave 5/ 4 against, although Barcelona and Real score goals they always almost lose a goal too.

15 Feb 2016 12:46:56
Tinytim he could have just let Suarez hit the penalty? Although he wouldn't have been the centre of attention if he did that.

TPP the doom and gloom merchant has spoken! Can you no just be happy for once in your life, Marty profited from the missed penalty, it wouldnae hurt you just to be happy for him. Great entertainment when teams try this with a penalty, remember Henry and Pirez making a total arse of it. Hilarious! Well maybe no for you TPP

Agree1 Disagree1

15 Feb 2016 13:35:16
I wasn't commenting on Marty's win. Well done to him. Glad he has benefitted from Messi's ego and Neymar's hesitance. Seriously I am. Congratulations Marty.

That said, I was commenting on Tim's statement about Messi. You do realise that is what this site is for? Commenting on threads and making a point in relation to the point above? I know you're all at sea on a thread that doesn't involve sacking RD or Celtic being poor but I congratulate you on still managing to comment and misappropriate the context. For someone telling others to be happy, that's attention seeking behaviour. Textbook.

Poeticpatient Sky are doing a poll if Messi and Barcelona were Showboating and disrespecting the other team, also Neymar did some outrageous tricks, but in my eyes it was entertainment, I would love Celtic to have players with such skills to entertain us Celtic fans.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Feb 2016 16:08:31
I saw that earlier Tim. I don't think it's disrespectful at all. I'm all for showboating and I agree, it's all about entertainment, which it undoubtedly was. (especially Neymar)

Timalloy,
Do u remember the night Bobby "dazzled" petta did some show boating against the zombies.
Think it was a league cup match.

DABhoyBhoy I was brought up watching wee Jinky playing and his skills were on a par with Messi and Neymar, he got a standing ovation in the Bernabeau for a dazzling display in Di Stefano's testimonial, 100,000 passionate Spaniards OLAYING every time he touched the ball.

Cheers boys didn't put much on it as lost most other bets over the weekend lol!

14 Feb 2016 21:30:44
Gotta love lio messi, not only did he selflessly let Suarez score, he a also won me money for a missed penalty lol! Timalloy did u get a wee win from that as well?

Believable0 Unbelievable4

15 Feb 2016 11:09:29
Ha ha martybhoy one of the few who actually listens to my bets, no did not have a missed penalty but had a penalty scored as well as other bets mentioned above, hope you won a good few quid Marty.

Agree0 Disagree2

15 Feb 2016 12:59:12
Out of curiosity timalloy do you put your bets on singular or as an accumulator?

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Feb 2016 14:47:12
Do u bet coupons on the British football Tim?

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Feb 2016 15:50:33
Cee with the scorers and penalty bets you can only put them on singular unless it is two or more different games eg taking penalty bets or scorers in Real and Barcelona games, but if like my bets they all come up in same match you can still get a few quid.
Ryan yes I do British coupons also I took Alloa/ sevco both to score, in EPL or other English games I prefer BTTS bets as there are usually a few goals scored.

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Feb 2016 17:47:06
Timmaloy you talk utter rubbish. You've posted nothing but losing bets since the turn of the year when you said you were going to post all bets to show how well you are doing. You must be the only gambler in the world who posts losing tips after losing tips but is still in healthy profit. Or are you just the typical gambler who only talks about how much they have won. Remember all your coupons and horses have been on here my friend so you are going to maintain that your Spanish bets are covering all your English Scottish and horse racing duff tips. You
Must go to some bookmaker if things like over 2.5 goals in a Madrid or Barcelona game is all you need for a bit of profit.

Tim, I had Harry Kane first to score and 2 1 Spurs on. Only put a quid on but 55-1 not too shabby at all. Also had Kane any time Spurs to win 6 -1 put 5er o that. Do the math yourself as the poor lassie at Willy Hill obviously had trouble with it, gave me 95 notes! (Really unsure how that happened but I'LL spend it) Loved Barcelona pen.

Ed all I see is what's on here mate. And it losers after losers. If timmalloy is posting winners on another site then I will totally retract my statement along will a full apology to timmalloy.

{Ed007's Note - Sorry mate I was just thinking that you liked a bet so I'd plug Ed023's page.}

15 Feb 2016 19:18:32
Ed, Tim directed us all to that site as the guy was hammering the bookies it was early last year. As soon as I started following him he stopped winning so I just left him to it. I thought I must be a jinx on the guy. No mate I like a punt but as I never win I always keep the stakes small.

See That Nadir Ciftci came on at half time for his new club then got sent off. The guy is a ballon!

No the balloon was the guy who thought he was worth 1.5 million! Said at the time that Dundee Utd probably couldn't believe there luck! He done nothing at Utd to warrant that fee! Was and never will be a Celtic striker!

14 Feb 2016 18:14:57
Only thing is we will get him back in the summer and be stuck with him for the rest of his contract, just like most of the other duds we've signed in the last couple of years ie Boerrigter!

Agree2 Disagree0

14 Feb 2016 18:55:07
I would rather have his contract termanated if I'm honest. Ok we paid 1.5mil but let's just admit it was a terrible decision and let him go. If we are lucky that other mob will sign him lol.

Agree2 Disagree0

14 Feb 2016 19:00:38
We have made some very poor decisions for a few seasons now - especially when signing strikers.
Ciftci, Scepovic, Cole, Berget, Balde, Pukki, Rasmussen, Bangura, Lassad, Miko, Brozek? and Wakaso and I'm sure there were others.
This lack of foresight and incompetent judgement is one of the main reasons we have deteriorated so much in the past few years and the money and time wasted could have been put to much better use if the club had a serious shake-up of our scouting and development network.
It is crystal clear to all of us that without spending fortunes, we could do so much better, in the transfer market than at present.

Agree7 Disagree1

14 Feb 2016 19:17:33
Said it before jj2. Only in football, and seemingly Celtic in particulr, could you buy an inferior product at an inflated price or end up buying the wrong product entirely. To do it once is bad but Tonev to that list. We don't learn, we seemingly don't research and we'll do it all agIn.

Agree2 Disagree1

15 Feb 2016 01:13:47
Beav 81 I know of no club who is regularly buying players that doesn't from time to time buy a plonker . Maybe you know of clubs and managers who never makes a mistake .

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Feb 2016 12:48:08
Why are you revelling in his failure? We should be hoping he tears that league up and impresses -- so they/ someone can take him off our hands.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Feb 2016 16:12:49
I don't think that people are revelling in his failure, I think that Cifti is just confirming what most supporters thought about him before he signed, and it just highlights the stupidity of our club wasting £1.5m on him.
The list of players that Jungle Jim mentioned shows that it's not a one off, we continually waste money on players who aren't fit to wear the jersey. The money we've wasted on these duds could have been spent on one or two quality signings. In my opinion by trying to save money, the people running the club have cost us a fortune, Cifti is just another example of this.

Afternoon Ed, This new CL format thing they are talking about you seem clued up on it

How likely is it? When would it kick in?

Surely then there has to be a chance for the" left behind's" to format something for themselves also? (y)

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed007's Note - Two very prominent clubs want it to happen as soon as possible (2018) and they have the support of a third club - but most are looking at 2022 being a good option. A few clubs are looking at 2025 to 2027 and that could end up as the reality.
There is a slim chance of a British league but I don't see that happening as it'll be the same old, same old. Why would English teams vote to share their money with teams from another country? There will be little enough to go around as any serious money will follow the breakaway.}

14 Feb 2016 15:11:18
How likely is a league of say Europa standard clubs? Clubs from smaller leagues, your Celtics, Ajax, Benficas?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's a possibility but for now highly unlikely.}

14 Feb 2016 15:48:23
Gladly take your insight on that Ed. But further down the line, once the elitists have set a precedent with their break away league, I can only see a domino effect with different groups doing their own thing. Goodness knows what the landscape of European football will look like. I know one thing, the idea some of these clubs have of qualifying for the CL, REGARDLESS of their league position is stinking. It's all hand shakes and brown paper envelopes though isn't it.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2016 15:27:38
Ooffttt! That is much sooner than most people would have thought in a decade football will be much different than as we know it

The void the big 4 of the epl would leave would need filling in my opinion or another break away like the one J T I think is suggesting games need attending seen Marc Rieper talk over the weekend about the fans we took to Seville that might be our best avenue anywhere to an invite (y)

14 Feb 2016 16:28:13
The biggest obstacle i'm trying to get my head around jamie is how sections of our support would cope with not winning every game!

Lol JimTim they would to mate imagine we were invited to say a two 16 team pan European league's system we would get pumped every other week and I would never want that but Ed could invest in Tena ladies shares along with you and me mate and what has to be one of the best tv puns ever

"This time next year Rodney we'll be millionaires'" 😁.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2016 18:17:40
There's R D preparing the way with frequent results this season preparing the fans for not winning every game, and he is getting nothing but abuse .
I think that after the novelty of playing in a league with artifical boundaries wears off the fans will miss playing the Killie's Hearts, Aberdeen Dundee teams etc and football will go into definite decline if TV and bankers make up the boundaries and league structures .

Was looking over some old and recent footage of managers in action (especially when team are not performing as they should. ) Busby, Shankly, Paisley, Big Jock, Fergie, Wenger and even Walter were out there waving arms, screaming and urging the players.
Ffwd to LVG in the United dugout (dugout, not out on touchline) furiously writing and scribbling into his big folder and oor ain RD standling like a rabbit in floodlights.
(I also laughed at Coyle - as the manager - out there in his shorts hoping that he might get a game)
All the successful managers are drivers and look the part. You can see they are in charge and those players recognise that.
Even MON with hos wee bottle of water was out there n the touchline. Sometimes THAT is what is needed to get that wee bit out of players.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

14 Feb 2016 16:03:24
Always prefer to see a manager with feeling and enthusiasm 'kick every ball', motivate, encourage, chastise and celebrate.
It's not everyone's cup of team to see an animated manager, but it shows he has an emotional and passionate connection with the club.

Agree2 Disagree0

14 Feb 2016 18:26:06
You will normally find that managers are playing every ball and pacing up and down their dug-out appearing to be in complete control, and that is when the team is going well. Usually as their team becomes bogged down and are unable to react to his prompting, the manager shuts down and takes a seat and appears to be the most lonely man in the stadium .

Was a cold day yesterday at the game so decided to warm myself up with a lentil soup at the kiosk 2 quid a cup and it tasted fine BUT was disgusted to then find we fans are being charged 2 pounds for a cup of heinz tinned soup its expensive enough for season tickets n kits and the club charge us excessively for tinned soup gies a break.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

14 Feb 2016 14:45:36
Your lucky, mine cost £2.50.
I know that they have to make a bit of profit, but the prices do seem a bit excessive.
On a cold day like yesterday though, they know that people will just pay for the stuff.

{Ed007's Note - This subject has been brought up at AGMs but doesn't seem to be high up on people's agendas for some strange reason.}

Why don't you bring your own flask of hot soup with you and then you won't have any complaint . The outside caterers will say that they are pressurised to pay the working wage and as they have to dispose of all perishable food by 4.30 the profits are very small as the wastage can be high.
