Anyone else wondering how the Police get away with spreading so much horse s**t round the stadium for crowds to walk through? If my dog made this much mess (well he'd be ill) but I'd need to clear it up. Theres no need for Police horses at run of the mill games. Absolute joke, as was the stupid fencing they have up which caused problems getting away from the ground. Rant over lol.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

I used to work as a steward mainly at Edinburgh games but once did queue management at CP before a CL league game where most if not all people used tickets rather than the smartcards and therefore took forever to get in. To be honest I can actually see the point of the horses. They are there so police can see above the crowd and get an idea of the density/hassle amongst peed-off fans standing in a queue and they're also more effective for getting people into an orderly queue. People instinctively move out of the way for horses but not necessarily people - especially ones in yellow or orange jackets (who're percieved as pains in the backside and get dogs abuse for moving people about and trying to maintain an orderly queue but conversely seen as useless and again get dogs abuse when people jump the queue and they don't see it or let it go when it happens - a pretty horrible lose-lose situation to be in really...)

The fences I agree were just annoying on Saturday but my guess is that it's construction work. I guess as well it stops people being trampled when everyone leaves but again not the most likely scenario and I hope they're moved next home game.

Does anyone know what the story is with Thomas Rogne. I heard he might be injured again, but not sure. I really like him and think he has all the makings of a classy centre half, but get the feeling he needs a good experienced c/b to help him through a season. He also seems to pick up an awful lot of injuries, i hope this is just bad luck as i really would like to see him get a run in the team, and build up his confidence.

He's injured. I agree he could be a good player for us but IMO needs more time on the sidelines to make sure he's injury free and thus stop him getting injured again. I also think we should consider introducing him more slowly to the first team against weaker opponents to give him more time to become less injury prone if that makes any sense.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, i know what you mean mate, it might be best for him to get completely fit, and stop him picking up these injuries. I hope to god we can beat Sion, as this team and us fans, really need some european football.

Afternoon ed,

Am kind of glad we have lost 3 top players to injuries at this point in the season (am not happy because they injuries) because hopefully this will let Lennon see that once u take away a couple of starting 11 players and turn to the bench there isn't much to look at.

The likes of murphy, samaras, Maloney these are not ppl a title chasing team can turn to, and hopefully or board finally back Lennon with the finance he needs and hopefully we get rid of our dead wood.

Players that I think are worth bringing on board are the polish keeper (not sure whether he signed or not yet), a good CB from the championship or abroad, and a striker like bianchi (excuse the spelling) this is what Celtic need not trialists.

Hail Hail

Cumby Bhoy

Ps hope for a speedy recovery for izzy kayal and hooper {Ed007's Note - Evening Cumby mate, the trialist thing is getting a bit boring. If it is a young player then fine, it is a lot more than just being able to play (settling in to a new country, away from family, change of lifestyle) but older players should be good enough or just be here to prove their fitness, not prove they can play.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Hit the nail on the head, becoming very very frustrating as even the Celtic shop bags say "a profits go back into your club" I've spent a fortune in that shop and I knw plenty of other folk have, we need investment and if it's wages get the players out on loan there wages low enough that other clubs will pay them.

But on a brighter note am very happy with Celtic on the park 5-1 against utd who ate a team notorious for being tough to beat, but stokes looks good ki nearly burst the net and ledley and brown done well plus still smiling from larssons hat rick on Tuesday night.

I get what you mean about loan deals but can you imagine if we signed those 2 dumplings that played a half each against Wolves before we seen them play?I would rather they kept giving loan deals until finances are a little better,we need to make our money count.

Jungle Bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jungle Bhoy I know where u coming from every penny counts n stuff, but if those dumplings had to come in on trial in the first place doesn't give me high hopes for them, if a team thinks they good enough then something is offered if not nothing done. I just don't like this grey area that's appeared with trialists if they not good enough and first viewing then they not good enough to pull on the hoops.

Cumby Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest I don't mind the trials. With limited funds we need to look at Bosmans and blue-chip signings. Obviously these are risky - better to look at the player first and not sign him than sign him and have wasted wages on the bill.

Didn't think the two that played against Wolves got long enough on the pitch and didn't see enough of the ball to really judge them - I'd have played them both the full game or as long as they could last as not only would you see more of them but you'd get an idea of their fitness and psychology i.e. reaction to losing goals/bollocking at half time/feeling like they've played poorly etc.

I guess the frustrating thing is doing loads of trials and not actually signing the players. Surely 1 of say 20 has to be a hit rather than a miss.

Can someone please explain to me why the twardzik brothers are yet to be promoted to the first team? I try and keep an eye on both the developmental squad and the youth team and their names are always sounded out as either goal scorers or putting in another impressive performance and just think it would be worth giving our youth players a chance

Junglebhoy33 {Ed007's Note - I agree with you Junglebhoy, youth should get more of a chance, especially in the current financial climate. Great clubs like ours, Rangers, Man Utd, LFC etc etc (keep an eye on Tom Cleverley , Ravel Morrison and Paul Pogba at Man Utd this season.) have a fantastic history or bringing on their own youth players. Too many fans prefer to see million pound price tags and fancy foreign names than look within their club for players. It is good to Forrest coming through for us, and to see Rangers doing it with Ness, both should become a great players. Even bring in young players from abroad to enter the clubs development/youth programmes, they will still technically "come through the ranks".}

Hi folks, I'm new to the site and glanced over a statement regarding Aiden McGeady's protracted transfer to Zenit.

Apparently, Celtic do indeed have a minimum sell on clause of 20% of any future transfer fee paid to Spartak.

So as it stands Celtic would benefit from the deal. Thinking we could put the money to good use and buy a quality striker.

Troy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Its 10% troy

Agree0 Disagree0

10% of any profit and as spartak payed 10 mil for aiden celtic would receive 1.7 mil

I know we won 5-1 yesterday and our forward play was great at times, but i'm still going to have a moan at the defence. Zaluska had a couple of good saves, but he was in two minds when coming out his box a few times. Majstorvic and Wilson didn't look good together, i think a lack of trust in the goalie, or even the other way round could be to blame. The good points were i thought Scott Brown was immense when Commons went off, and he took more responsibility. Charlie Mulgrew was our best defender/attacker he had a really good game. Wee shooders Forrest looks like he will have a good season, and Maloney looks sharp. P. S unlike me, i think the green Brigade deserve praise for their support of Zaluska, maybe i am wrong and all he needs is some good old fashioned support, and one thing about the Green Brigade is they give every player 100% support all of the time
paddybhoy

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Yeah Zaluska is a decent shot stopper but useless at rushing out for the ball and in just about every other game I've watched him he's made an error in this respect. He was shaky yesterday but ironically thought he played better once he'd conceded.

Thought the defence did ok yesterday but the ball should've been booted to hell on the occasion they scored. Wilson is a class act - pure composure. Another quality CB would be a welcome addition though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Paddybhoy calls a lot right in my opinion, but also lets not get carried away. Zaluska had probably his best game and a top team would've taken 4 off us. The Celtic players are nice football players and technically without doubt the best team in Scotland. This has to be balanced against (at times) woeful tactics from Lenny and a general lack of grunt from back to front. Going forward Celtic can just about compete with the big boys but between the halfway line and our 18 yeard line we are hopeless. PS Zaluska is a better goalie than most comments seem to indicate and Lenny should get behind him.

According to the Sunday Star..Newcastle have approached Man City for Craig Bellamy. Really think the issue is our wages bill, did anyone notice how high it was compared to ALL other teams in SPL (published during the week by Pricewaterhouse Cooper) ?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

That might be because Keane was playing for us that season

Just a small note to correct you in what you state, **youve starved us of our title** can i just say one thing to you and thats 54 and counting, world record holders. Just to point out you were wrong in the P**h you wrote. ED007 before you start yes we all know the first one was shared but it still counts so 54... {Ed007's Note - I know it still counts, you are aware my tongue is firmly in my cheek when I say to Rangers fans about it?}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm i being dumb here,but who is Jeff Wayne?

Jungle Bhoy. {Ed007's Note - The only one I have heard of is an award winning musician that wrote a musical version of H.G.Wells The War of the Worlds (about 1979/80??) along with numerous other advert jingles and T.V. theme tunes?? If it isn't him then I am stumped.}

Celtic aren't going to sign anyone else unless it's on loan,a keeper is a must but only if right one comes up and price.not unless someone is sold which I keep hearing is highly likely(onlyones worth selling are injured)....

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Lennon has already said there'll be a couple in next week or the week after.
