See a Braga player scored 2 own goals tonight. Wonder what the record is for most in 1 game lol.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - I think 2 is the most scored by one player but the most OG's in a game is 149 (one hundred and forty nine)

14 Apr 2016 23:54:43
Was Hugh Dallas the ref by any chance?

I think there was Belgian player who scored a hattrick of OGs in the 90s. I can't remember who he played for but I remember it being the talk of the playground - so it could have been bullshit. Unlike today, we couldn't rush home and check it on the net. As well as which, the guy that told me also claimed he had a swimming pool - despite us knowing he stayed 7 up in the Drumchapel flats.

I remember that 149 game ED. Bizarre. I think it had something to do with protesting a referee? (Maybe we should give it a bash! )

Weirdest game I ever saw was roundabout the same time as the Belgian hat trick hero above. I'm sure it was Barbados and they needed to win by two, but with time running out, the scored an own goal to take it to extra time - and then got the goals they needed!

149 is some amount. Wonder if Timalloy had a bet on that game and paid other team off lol.

{Ed007's Note - With my luck I was probably waiting on it for a BTTS coupon.}

I think Andy Lynch scored 2 O. G. against Morton many years ago.

I seem to remember a match from the 1980's between Leicester and Aston villa, where Alan Evans scored all the goals in the match.
He scored both Villa goals, but scored 2 own goals in a 2-2 draw.
If I have got it wrong I apologise.

I seem to remember a player called Willie Garner who on his debut for Celtic (in the days we signed t! ts) scored 2 own goals and in the next game scored another own goal, needless to say he never lasted long.

Did Roy aitken not score a couple against Dundee once?

I was at the a Garner show.

For my sins.

Which must be many.

It was preposterous.

With Sunday approaching what lies await us in Sundays papers in an attempt to unsettle us. i'm sure there will be Ronnie replacement and half the team leaving first chance they get for pastures new. i would love to see the shoe on the other foot. A Warburton has been so great he is taking over at Man utd in the summer and Ally Mc Coist is coming back to fulfill his destiny and Wallace is off to Barcelona for 15 million in what would be a world record for a second tier second rate team. What fantastical story do you expect or would like to see to unsettle them. Personally the team sheet should be enough.

Roberts snapped by the paps eating a bag of chips the day before the game rebelling against the strict eating plan, unconfirmed reports of Scott Brown kicking an old woman's corgie in the face and scandalous accusation's ronny has an off shore business account in rothsey.
Put nothing past em :)

To unsettle them you kidding :) there will be pics of King handing out biltong to the homeless and morrisons will have their advertising fee waved for their 54p bags of satsumas.

Just listening to some Christy Moore and was thinking how great it would be to hear the whole stadium rocking to"Vive La Quinte Brigada".

What tune would you love the whole stadium rocking to?

I know it's a long shot but I'm still looking for two or even one ticket for the match on Sunday. Been looking everywhere and still no luck. There were a couple on gumtree but unwilling to pay nearly a £100 a ticket! If anyone has any or knows of anyone selling can you let me no, thanks in advance :) .

Just do what I am doing and go shopping with the wife. ;)

14 Apr 2016 22:23:48
Rabmac, shopping will be better for your heart and soul. Obviously if they even get the ball into our half your heart will be thumping as you worry what Thompson will do .
No matter how mild spoken you are Thompson will draw words from your mouth u are unlikely to use other days .

Thoughts on our starting 11 for Sunday?

I'd be happy if Ronny went with this.

Gordon
Lustig
Sviatchenko
Mulgrew
Tierney
Roberts
Rogic
Biton
Brown
McGregor
Griffiths.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

14 Apr 2016 15:28:16
Pretty much the same for me. Think sj or possibly ckr will start ahead of McGregor.

14 Apr 2016 15:32:43
Johnason for mcgregor would be my only change mate.

Agree1 Disagree1

14 Apr 2016 15:43:31
I'd go with:

Gordon
Lustig
Sviatchenko (if fit)
Mulgrew
Tierney
Brown
Bitton
Roberts
Johansen
Kazim-Richards
Griffiths

I know Johansen and Kazim-Richards might surprise a few but think Johansen has been looking a bit better recently and hoping the big occasion will focus him. Going with Kazim-Richards purely for a bit of strength and height in attack.

I would have GMS before McGregor and Boyata for Mulgrew.

Even though I am not a huge fan of Boyata, I like the fact he is fast, which is important for the system we play.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Apr 2016 15:47:50
As much as SJ has had a very poor season, I would have him in as he puts himself about more than Bitton who can sometimes go missing in physical games, which I expect Sunday to be.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Apr 2016 15:59:49
Thanks Lads,

Reason i chose McGregor ahead of Johansen is i feel he will relish the chance to run at them and he's always keen to shoot from distance. Mulgrew in ahead of Boyata for his experience. Plenty players i left out who can come on and finish the job nicely. Mackay Steven, Johansen. Commons or Allen all capable of coming off the bench and really destroying this lot.

Stay safe all attending.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Apr 2016 16:39:03
Kazim Richards shouldn't start this game possibly give him last 20 or 30 mins, I've already seen him reacting about 3 or 4 times when he has been fouled and they'll know that, recipe for disaster when you have 25000 baying for a sending off.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Apr 2016 17:21:36
Get CKR in from the start. Big and powerful - focus of the attention, while Rogic works his magic to slip Leigh in between the defenders.

I'm not his biggest fan (due to attitude) but KC would be right up for this game.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Apr 2016 19:05:59
I would be happy with the eleven that started against Motherwell, the only change I might make is Sviatchenko for Boyata if he's fit.
I thought we played quite well at Fir park so I wouldn't change a winning team.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Apr 2016 20:28:17
I would go with

Gordon
Lustig
Charlie
Erik
Tierney
Brown
Bitton
Roberts
Commons
Johansen
Griffiths
I know commons hasn't played a lot but he's made for these games!

Of all the players listed in above teams the only one I would have a problem with is Commmons who just hasn't featured enough this season, especially this year . To me there are decent arguments for all the rest either starting or coming on.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Apr 2016 08:58:40
I may be wrong but was it not a similar situation last season where Commons wasn't getting picked much (still more than this season I realise) and was selected, setting up first and then scoring 2nd? I have been very critical of Commons myself this season and would question wether to keep him next year, but agree completly with Beav81's selection and the fact Commons is made for games like this. good to have a bit of experience.
