Although I like this time of year with the speculation about who is arriving and who is departing I did think we would have maybe had one player in or as near as damn it in
Ed have you heard of any one MAYBE arriving?

{Ed007's Note - I've got nothing new mate. I'm hoping a lot of phone calls are going on while people are on holiday and we'll get someone announced when Rodgers and Lawwell are back.}

13 Jun 2017 19:22:43
Still plenty of time tony mate. i'd rather we took our time and added quality. the only thing that worries me is going for Hayes! Just hope that's not the level of player all our targets are!

Thanks Ed I agree Lh I just hope its people filling up the papers.

Interesting words from Neil Warnock today, Says Aberdeen want 2 players from Celtic. 2 players plus £1.2m? Surely not. I would not even give them Mackay Steven and Ciftci with no cash for Hayes. I hope we pull the plug on this farce.

im actually surprised the clearout hasn't started yet, ambrose aside who's contract was up anyway and was leaving.

Agree13 Disagree5

13 Jun 2017 21:24:08
Im with you stan. Hayes would have to have to have plenty untapped potential to justify us using christie as a make weight never mind +1.2m i've never seen it.

Agree0 Disagree4

13 Jun 2017 21:24:19
Commons and O'Connell have also left James.

Agree0 Disagree4

13 Jun 2017 21:30:46
Aye Philiphop it doesn't add up. If i had to choose between Hayes and Christie next season it would be Christie. So for him to go to Aberdeen next season, and another player + supposedly £1.2m that's crazy.

Agree1 Disagree4

13 Jun 2017 22:31:41
Its not as if he's got recent international or European experience that suggests he can kick on. Is it likely we are conducting business whilst the main players are on holidays?

Agree0 Disagree4

13 Jun 2017 22:58:05
Troops a question? Do u trust our manager? Well shut the f&$k up eh in Brendan we trust or are we a acting like the zonbies hh.

Agree3 Disagree16

13 Jun 2017 23:02:19
I hope this goes into a Hayes and he never signs Christie all day for me. I just hope that when The Aberdeen manager goes he takes Hayes with him to Sunderland.

Agree1 Disagree5

13 Jun 2017 23:30:30
I'm not that keen on signing Hayes either, but:
1. If we were linked to a player from any other league in the world who had 11 goals and 24 assists last season we'd be saying sign him up.
2. The best opposition he has came up against is ourselves and he has done it against us on many occasions.
3. Christie has done nothing to suggest he's good enough for Celtic or that he is a better player than Hayes.

Agree2 Disagree5

13 Jun 2017 23:46:00
It's the fact we should be looking to get CL quality in Christie has potential Hayes is not any better than what we have.

13 Jun 2017 23:56:30
commons left a month ago stan as his contract was up, and o'connell was a reserve player, im talking more about de vries ciftci gms bailly and possibly bitton and forrest, toure is another one who has left after the expiry of his contract but i never put him or commons on my list as they were off anyway, and i nearly forgot scott allan lol.

I do enjoy the raise a point - act like a zombie - logic that pops up here every now and then. Its not a matter of trust, its a group of folks online discussing something that may never happen. Be a dull wee site if for every question, query or quip the second retort was 'dont be a zombie' or 'hail hail'.

Agree1 Disagree4

14 Jun 2017 07:48:49
Am not to bothered about hayes signing think it will be good cover and young christie getting a game every week would help him develop because he'll not get that with us.

What's a Zonbie ;-D.

Agree1 Disagree2

14 Jun 2017 17:04:49
I'd rather have Hayes than Forrest, atleast Hayes ha she an end product. Also our first 11 aside the squad is mediocre at best. I mean de vries couldn't keep a spot when handed to him on a plate, Erik/ boyata both pretty poor especially in Europe. We have no back up to either Sinclair brown Armstrong or Forrest ATM, and we currently have only 2 strikers in the squad.

Various reports today we are trying to sign januzzi. usual websites plus betting odds so take from that what u want lol.

oh aye wylie that's another dud i forgot lol.

14 Jun 2017 21:20:58
Aye shandybhoy we'll all shut up because you said so eh! And name one person who says they don't trust the manager? No we're just questioning the logic in buying a 30 year old journeyman for 1.2m plus one of our top young players! Which is the exact opposite of what the ZONBIES do, who don't question anything that goes on over at the asbestos dome! Hence the name the gullibles!

Just read something about how all 3 of our kits are green next season. What happens when we play away to a team that also wears green?

Someone can correct me if I am wrong but early 2000s Hibs had a green home strip and white away so we had to play in an away shirt either at home or a cup final because our home strip clashed with both.

13 Jun 2017 20:52:40
My post above was annoying me.

9th September 2000 and 25 February 2001 we wore the yellow strip while they played in green at Celtic park.

About the time I used to go regularly so rung a bell with me.

All the shorts and socks are different colour and are all different shades of green it will be fine.

when i was a bhoy celtic played hibs and celtic wore the hoops and hibs played in their normal green and white jerseys.

Both wear away kits usually in cases like these. Its probs deliberate by marketing to make sure they wear the 3rd kit more than once, as per the pink kit.

i was showing my age there, we didn't even have a badge on our jerseys back then lol, it was only the early 70s before some of you get cheeky lol.

What was the idea behind signing kouassi eboue, can't see the boy getting a look in this year, has he impressed in any reserve games? Is he highly thought of?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

13 Jun 2017 16:19:15
He hadn't played a lot of football and dislodging Broony takes some doing. We'd watched him a wee while and BR compared the feeling watching him to that of watching Coutinho so let's be patient.

Agree1 Disagree2

13 Jun 2017 16:54:12
Why can't you see him getting a look in? We'll hopefully be playing in 4 competitions.

Agree0 Disagree2

13 Jun 2017 17:26:57
He'll get a pre season abd hopefully kick on.

Agree0 Disagree2

13 Jun 2017 17:55:28
If we play 4-3-3 I'd like to see him get a chance in with Broony with Armstrong in the middle.

Agree0 Disagree1

13 Jun 2017 22:00:37
He might make it this season or else he maybe not up to faster pace of Scottish game . That's the risk of buying overseas players, hit or miss .
With Hayes under Rodgers guidance almost quaranteed a top player that will fit into SPL and our team.

Not Celtic related (excpt it won this Celtic fan some money) but sports related.
A big thank you to my cousin in Boston who is a big NBA basketball fan, as you would expect living in the good old USA.
He told me to lump on BIG on the Golden State Warriors winning the NBA championship by 4 games to 1, well this Tim followed my cousin's advice and last night Golden State secured the NBA title 4-1.

How did your horse get on Saturday Tim? I thought I saw my lab stuffing her face with it at breakfast this morning 😆.

As you already know it bombed, as a punter you take the good with the bad, Saturday was bad, but I bounced back last night, albeit thanks to my cousin in Boston. I never let losing get me too down, same with winning, being in control is what it is all about, never try and chase your losses, walk away and try another day.

13 Jun 2017 15:43:16
I'm surprised an experienced punter would not take anything that comes from a trainers mouth, with a pinch of salt, especially a shark like the good doctor. I have found the boy on itv who is the co presenter, Jason weaver I think his name is, quit good at tipping winners .

ED001 can you or one of the other EDS more up on work permits answer me this question.
How many players can one team bring in who require a work permit, the new club seemingly are bringing in at least 3 surely there must be a limit on such players to one team.
A follow on question, if as is the case with the Ibrox club, they have not played many, if any, international matches, what is the criteria for issuing these players with a work permit, thanks in advance for this answer.

Believable0 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - no limit. They can have as many as they want, the only limit is in the make up of the squad, but that is absolutely nothing to do with work permits.

There is now a points system, with various requirements to earn points. They might need to guarantee the player will take part in 75% of first team matches they are available for, as Liverpool had to with Grujic. Or they can pay them a higher wage, as Liverpool also had to do in the past. So longer as a player gets over a certain amount of points, they qualify for a work permit.}

13 Jun 2017 08:50:20
Why do you care about their work permits Tim?
