So the shame over the road are still accessing damage to there ground cause by Celtic Supporters in the hogmany clash? Why then has nothing been said up to now? The quicker they go under AGAIN the better as they are just a non-entity which the whole of Scottish football hate"as they proudly sing". They are millions in debt, they struggle to pay there current world beater players, there super store looks like something out of a shooting up gallery. Celtic should just lock them out the stadium and fill the stadium with our fans. Playing Champions League football and playing games Against Aberdeen and Hearts would do me fine! HH.

I thought that i read somewhere that some of our fans took pictures on their phones to prove that we hadn't done any damage.

Saw a good one online. Supposedly it was for Dembele wearing out the turf while holding the ball in the corner for 10 minutes!

Ok so I don't like Davie Provan much. Great Player but not so good at being a pundit, however, I just read his article he wrote last week about BR and 10 in a row etc and find I agree with him. What is the obsession with 10 in a row and beating the record. Other clubs in the world have done more ( Rosenberg and A Latvian team ) and nobody in football cares. Would 10 in a row beat the 9 done by Big Jock? As provan says when Jock did it he won the European cup and got to semi finals as well so surely 10 in a row would still not be as great an achievement. I hink Provan is right and champions league last 16 or further should be the real target and 10 in a row is quite insignificant. Just my thoughts 😂

At this moment in time we need to win the league to have a chance of getting into the CL. The more we win the league the better the chances of reaching the latter stages. If it so happen to take us 9,10,11,12 in a row, I for one will be a very happy Bhoy.

13 Jan 2017 14:27:16
Do we not need to win the league to get into the CL?

I know what your saying, European progress is a top priority. But at home, to get 10 or more titles will give a generation of fans a generation of bragging rights, it sounds petty, but the feelgood factor of that achievement would last for years to come.

Agree2 Disagree2

13 Jan 2017 15:11:38
He's right about Europe fed up telling sevconians that the 54 titles there old club won meant nothing In the wider world my god real Madrid have won 10 European cups now that's an achievement, but if we got the 10 the bragging rights would be off the radar. bring it on HH.

13 Jan 2017 15:20:39
I'm not saying it would be a better achievement, but as far as I'm concerned doing 10 in a row would be magic.

Rangers won a European trophy around the same time as we did (same year? ) and no one cares cause we did one better.
Right or wrong, dead or alive, cheating or not, Rangers won nine in a row, let's do ten and forget the pain of the 90's.

Charlie Nick said today that our titles don't merit anything without competition, but you can only play the teams in front of you. We (celtic) we're on our knees in the early 90's and no one seemed to care about 'competition'.

As I said 10 in a row will be one hell of a party for me.

Hail Hail

last years celtic progress was to get into the champions league group stages. mission accomplished.

As soon as the draw was made, I knew tough group, hoped for eu fitba after Christmas but that was far fetched.

This years mission is to get into the champions league group stages (which includes good signings now, precontracts for summer, nailing down existing good players, shedding dead wood and of course winning the league - then the qualifiers)

We can't really talk progress as tough qualifiers and we could be back to square -1

Celtic beating rangers is nothing to brag about, its expected as we are a better team, better position, better principals, no cheats etc.

Don't think we need to prove anything to rangers fans.

Now celtic beating Barca, what a night - qualifying for the next round with a game in hand, above man utd (thanks Naka, wee GS)

The TIAR is a target set to overtake the nine consecutive titles accrued by ourselves and EBT Utd and will set a. Unique domestic record and bestow bragging rights as bhampot has mentioned.
Thanks to the current ranking system and unfair allocation of CL places, we have to continually win the title to even get into the qualifiers.
Fortunately, we have a manager who is starting to build a side capable of domestic dominance and progress in Europe for the foreseeable future - infinity and beyond lol.

Digibanger-I know where you're coming from that beating the forces of darkness and evil is nothing to brag about. But we're only looking at a short window-the longer term view is quite amazing. 100 years ago they were the establishment and for a long time after it-until fairly recent times. Then us lot of pig ignorant uneducated immigrant bog trotters were formed to alleviate our own poverty because nobody else gave a feck and Scotland didn't want us. Yet we achieved the supposedly unachievable in 67 which they've never managed. And better than that-they are now on their arse-financially feckd-history-and no longer-THE PEOPLE. And they just can't handle it that the TIM is no longer keeping his head down and has moved on. So never let yourself get tired of whipping their arse brother 🍀

Morning Ed, if you get chance, do you know if Bastia and Anderlecht are actually talking to us about Ambrose and Boyata respectively? Seems to be a few rags on these rumours.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed007's Note - Yes mate, Ambrose will more than likely be in France to finalise the deal this weekend and Boyata will move back to Belgium by next weekend but not necessarily to Anderlecht as there are a few teams interested in him as well as some interest from the Championship and perhaps Wolves.}

13 Jan 2017 14:23:53
Thanks a lot, that's why you da man. Reckon there could be a CB on the horizon then?

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - If the exits happen it's got be as we'd be extremely short at CB. I should have said that Bastia initially wanted Ambrose on a pre-contract but Celtic told the player to tell them they won't be difficult to deal with this month and the Bastia coach today has said he will have 2 new CBs by Monday.}

13 Jan 2017 15:11:43
I'd be chuffed if we could get 1-2m between them! That's what I was thinking, if they both leave, one injury in that department and we're snookered.

Jim Tim

We have Simunovic, Sviachenko, Toure and Lustig who can all play at centre half so not sure how 1 injury will leave us snookered. We also have the option of 3 at the back and both Tierney and Izzy have played in there this season so think we are covered for now.

I would like to see us thinning out the midfield a bit as we are still heavy on numbers in there.

Ed i heard that Ambrose wanted to stay in Scotland because he was trying to get UK citizenship and only had to wait till july. Is that bollocks?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You need to continue living in the UK after you are awarded citizenship so Efe could only sign for a British team so Ambrose can't apply for citizenship AND sign a pre-contract with a European team.

Niall, I think it would. Say Erik got injured for several weeks. That leaves us Kolo and Jozo (who have question marks over playing 90mins every game) and young Ajer, who to be fair to the lad is still learning the ropes (although I'd like to see him get featured) . I'd put Lustig out the equation too as you need two players for every position, and may be needed at RB (worst case scenarios we're talking now) . Having to adjust your shape based on tactics is fine. Having to do it due to injury shows a lack of depth. Ideally you want two players for every position, and an extra one for each dept., imo. That means 5 CBs, if Lustig was the 5th, that only leaves us with one RB (again, worst case scenario) . Hope that makes sense, but you have to prepare for the worst.

Ed that being the case that Ambrose needs to stay in uk to gain uk citizenship then he is going nowhere. can't see why he would go now

{Ed007's Note - So why's he planned to hold talks with a team in France?}

The toughest thing about gameshows is when a topic comes up that you just don't have the foggiest about. For Wednesday night's contestant her dreaded subject was football, but she needn't have worried - her boyfriend had come up with an ingenious plan.
Loved this wee snippet in the ET.
When Tasha and Jo went on Pointless, Tasha's boyfriend Alex gave her a solid piece of advice: when in doubt, answer Henrik Larsson.

And it certainly was a stellar recommendation. The show was looking for any goal-scorer in Euro 2000, and the girls went on to win a jackpot of £2,250 with an answer of none other than "Henrik Larsson" - which was both right and pointless.
