ED007 have you heard how much and for how long the new DAFABET sponsorship is for, and as a follow up do Celtic get a percentage of shirt sales from New Balance or is it simply a one off fee each year.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - There's no new deal with Dafabet yet, only initial talks from what I know. We get a an annual fee from New Balance plus the profits from any merchandise sold through the club's official channels.}

14 Feb 2016 09:50:30
Ed why do we get crap commercial deals compared to the English look at what man United get with Adidas 700 million and we would be lucky to get 7 million plus the fact they get more expensive every year. glad we aren't with Nike anymore though we had a terrible deal with them from what I remember reading the only way we would make money was through buying from a celtic store is that still the case.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The only way clubs make extra money is if you buy through their official channels and they get the profit that would go to any shop you buy from. That's why I always buy my stuff from the CFC shop and encourage others to do the same.}

14 Feb 2016 18:33:50
Ed007 you are very right, sometimes we read that a Celtic top can be bought for £10 or more cheaper, at some alternative source but surely if we are going to buy we should want to help the club as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I always do mate but I totally understand why say a family with a couple of kids will look around for cheaper options.}

14 Feb 2016 20:30:50
Why should any of us pay more for tops if they're not spending it the way we want.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You shouldn't if you don't want to, it's called making a personal choice. Nobody's forcing you to do anything you don't want to. I hope you require the same transparency when making other purchases or using others' services.
So if you buy out of Sports Direct you're happy with the way they treat their workers? What happens if you can only afford to shop in Sports Direct?}

14 Feb 2016 21:03:42
Haven't bought Jack shit from sports direct since a found out the way they treat their staff have u since your asking?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - No I haven't, I'm minted and probably wouldn't wear anything SD stock except obviously CFC gear. I do spend a lot of money in Cruise though - I've even got an account and privilege card - and Mike Ashley owns that.}

14 Feb 2016 21:16:32
Hahaha ya sarcy eld *****.

Win is a win!

But again that was an immense struggle to watch.

At times County passed and moved better than us and that just proves how much we are not progressing.

Seriously worried that this is going to be our level for many years to come.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

13 Feb 2016 19:58:45
This will be our level as long as Ronnie is picking the team, why were'nt Allan and Christie not even on the bench.

Agree1 Disagree5

13 Feb 2016 20:26:10
Good job it's not you either aindoh. Scott Allan with his 8 professional career goals. Would have had Ross County trembling.

Agree5 Disagree0

13 Feb 2016 21:39:10
Dataset, magners both disappointing sponsors for us. Aindoh this will be our level!

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2016 21:58:15
I would'nt want Allan or Christie to be in the team primarily as goalscorers, I would have them in the team to inject some creativity, but I don't think Ronnie will do so, his reputation for giving younger players a chance is exaggerated, maybe he had to do it at Stromsgodset, because they were starting from a low position, but here he is too conservative and afraid to drop the more established players.

Agree3 Disagree0

13 Feb 2016 23:01:12
Of the two, I'd take Christie over Allan everyday of the week.

Agree2 Disagree1

13 Feb 2016 23:02:43
Happy with the result but unroll after the 2nd goal the performance was hard to watch.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2016 05:08:52
I don't consider Allan as young to be honest aindoh. I also agree with you that I'd like to see Christie get game time. Definitely ahead of Allan for creativity, PP. But I really don't think you can go dropping too many established players. I'd actually say we need experienced players right now.

Agree2 Disagree0

14 Feb 2016 09:43:57
Jim Tim if all you have in your team are youngsters then that's who you play. I watched the Posh v West Brom. It was a team full of youngsters but the manager was not giving them a game. That was his team. That's the players he has. It was the same for Stromgrast, Ronnie wasn't developing these players at the expense of dropping seasoned pros, that was his team. Christie, Allen, why did we even buy them? They are no better than we already have. Is the strategy to buy average Scottish players so other teams can't get them? Our recruitment is a joke.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2016 10:16:39
Allan is older than Neymar.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2016 10:48:41
Thats why we need a DoF johnny. Not a "head of youth develipment" masquerading as one.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2016 11:37:28
I would play Allan and Christie together, it's these 'established' players that have been responsible for some of the god awful performances this year, why do some players seem to be guarenteed a team place no matter how bad they're playing?

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Feb 2016 12:27:12
Where aindoh? Allan is a CM. Regardless of form there's no way he's getting in there ahead of Brown or Bitton.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2016 13:22:15
As we all agree, it was a relief to get back to winning ways in the league and 3 points, plus a rare clean sheet was very important.
However, it is pretty obvious, we are clearly not playing as well as we should and there is a lack of confidence and assurance on and off the pitch these days and we need a spark from somewhere?

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2016 18:43:27
It's so easy for any of us to say we would play any combination of attacking or whatever players, as at the end of the day you don't have to face the consequences of it not coming off . R D is in the real world he has to carefully access what he has and who to play to get him the right result . In fairness to RD after the unfortunate results against R C and Aberdeen he didn't lose his nerve and gamble on success, he did the right thing and stuck by with those he could trust . That's probably why he manages a team at the top of the SPL and the rest of us dream about it.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2016 19:12:18
Thats what's holding Ronnie back, Old Bhoy, fear of failure.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2016 19:24:25
Aindoh, desire to succeed, is also very valuable, anything is better than an idiot picking names out of the squad without fear or desire.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2016 20:29:53
Thats explains it better, Ronnies desire to succeed is in conflict with his fear of failure, I mean is constrained by his fear of failure, I mean, his desire to succeed is now irrelevant, I am afraid fear of failure rules all Ronnies team selections now.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Feb 2016 01:24:02
Aindoh, that seems to me to be pure stupid . R D definitely still has the desire to win and that is why he chooses the team he considers will give him his best option. If fear or desire to please were his foremost thoughts he would opt for a stupid untried inexperience set - up like Allen and Christie and play Robert as well.
Instead he makes the brave decision to pick the players he knows will do the best job for him.

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Feb 2016 17:09:29
Its all there in front of our eyes Oldbhoy, the East Kilbride game was the perfect oppurtunity to give some of the 'untried' players a full game, but Ronnies fear of failure, meant he could't risk non first team regulars to beat a team of part timers, even though they are not first team regulars, they are highly paid professional footballers, if that's not fear on Ronnies part I don't know what you call it.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Feb 2016 00:36:00
Aindoh, I your wee world of hatred of R D, I am not surprised by u not having an alternative to what you say he has .
I think he showed concern for the future of his young stars by not exposing them to play against an experience team of cloggers on a very dangerous artifical pitch.
He had and the youngsters had very little to gain from playing against East Kilbride . If he played them and Celtic won by a few goals, he would have been told, nothing gained as they would be expected to beat E K, but if one or two suffered injury R D would have been correctly slated.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2016 18:27:03
Thank God for my football bets took my usual Ronaldo scorer, BTTS and over 2.5 goals doubled up the Real BTTS with wee Alloa for a nice return, which compensated me for my horses lol
Was at game today with girls, comfortable enough win but Armstrong again so so, I would have preferred to see either Allan or Christie get some game time, and what is it with Deila signing players then not playing them first Cole now the young lad Roberts from Man City, I thought the purpose of a loan signing was to give the player some game time.

Believable1 Unbelievable7

13 Feb 2016 18:57:49
Lad roberts maybe doesn't hit level 17 on the bleep test. Cole probably doesn't even beat the bleep.

Agree2 Disagree0

14 Feb 2016 18:50:07
In the case of Christie Allan and Robert, I am sure R D will pay them when they are fit and ready to play . We know what happened when he bought Allan on late in the game against Ajaz, he almost won the game by his pass to Griffiths and he actually lost us the match when he fiddled the short corner from Armstrong . Murray has plenty of time, he is coming back from injury and will be a big asset to us when he gets fully fit .

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2016 19:25:41
Sorry, stupid I meant Robert not Murray, old age.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2016 17:37:20
Good win today, can kick on from this with almost everyone fit. let's see what the SMSM spin on this result will be and how the Alloa result is reported on. (I. e. Will it be ignored? ) Watch this space!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

13 Feb 2016 18:05:58
Think there was a flurry of snow at Alloa`s goal.SMSM no doubt carry a headline. Warbs. worried that playing games during snow flurry could lead to players suffering from snow blindness in there later years.

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Feb 2016 18:24:12
They will probably put a picture of the guy who made the decision to narrow the park on the front page of the red tops, no doubt with horns, tail and trident photo shopped on. Would not be surprised to see his address printed as well.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Feb 2016 17:10:46
Firstly can I say I am a sly customer. But I don't want to be, I am sick of the money that goes to England when Scotland subscribes too and a large proportion compared to the population.
So I am on here to ask Ed and all you guys what can we do?
I would happily cancel sly but what would I achieve, what I really want is a stand by supporters en masse or even our club taking a stand and boycotting sly or whatever needs to be done till we get a equal share of the pie.
We as supporters have the power but we need a campaign or whatever it takes.
So over to you guys/ Ed what can we do?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I don't think there's anything we can do mate, unless there is an organised effort we're pi$$ing into the wind.}

13 Feb 2016 17:56:11
Well let's get organised ed we have the power of the internet.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2016 18:15:48
I was given SLY as a family gift, as I can't go to games and it does give me a lot of enjoyment - although I avoid SSN avidly because of the extreme English biased and the condescending manner of their reporting, like they are talking to a four year old.
I cannot cancel, as I am not the a/ c holder, but I do fully empathise and agree with your post.

Agree0 Disagree1

13 Feb 2016 18:27:24
Just cancel your subscription and watch online or via a media box for free. Putting aside the issue of us receiving a pittance, I would not give a penny in the pockets of the people who own the media as they are only serving their own purposes.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Feb 2016 21:05:25
Token gesture I suppose, but for what it's worth I cancelled Slysports and told them the reason. Usual "sorry to hear you feel that way blah blah blah, "

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm the same mate, it's not much but my conscience is clear. She probably wasn't meant to but when I called the girl told me that there had been quite a lot of people doing it for the same reasons. Sly say there's 'at least' 1 million Sly Spurts subscribers up here, that's circa £25 million a month, £300 million per annum coming from Scotland alone and CFC got £2.35 million for winning the league.
The EPL will get £10.2 million for EACH match shown under their new deal. It's a scandal that the people running our game signed up for this. An absolute scandal, and that includes the role Lawwell played in it.}

14 Feb 2016 00:03:28
Try Sports mania, less than a fiver a month, not perfect, but pretty good.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2016 09:58:09
Ed I agree that the money paid to SPL
Is pathetic and it reflects how useless the Executives like Doncaster and co really are. It's an easy gig for them. We are so poor, the game is lost without Rangers, Armageddon etc. So they say what can we do there is no money in the game! These people should be sacked on the spot for the derisory income they bring into the game. The money is there, they are just not good enough to extract some of it. That is their job. Forget the administering the game crap, they need to start brining in the cash. There is no shortage of money, they just can't sell the product. Billions from Sky in England go get a share you muppets. Anyway back to the thread. What media box should I buy and where do I get it from. It needs to be easy to set up as I can just about light a candle so technical expertise is not my forte. Also hope the diabetis is under better control and you are feeling a bit better.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I bought a T8 from here:

www.entertainmentbox.com/

The boxes are easy to set up and they update automatically, there's plenty of information out there to install what you want and it's a doddle when you get the hang of it. There are cheaper imitation boxes available from China but they are not very good when they're up and running (no automatic updates etc).
The place I got mine is also a 'real place' that you can contact and they seem to have a great after sales service from what I've heard although I've never had to use it.}

15 Feb 2016 17:51:14
Thanks ed I will give them a try. Cheers.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Sorry mate I had a code for 20% off a box with them but it expired at the end of January or I'd have let you have it.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

13 Feb 2016 18:17:32
He is as my auld man would have said 'a pig in a poke'.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Feb 2016 18:28:11
Not sure if he is injured but he will be further down the pecking order with the arrival of CKR.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Feb 2016 20:37:16
i can't understand Celtic. Ronnie only plays 1 up front. Cole was not match fit. You only get match fit through game time. Ronnie will always play Griffiths which we all understand so how does any other player get match fit? So if anything happens to Griffiths what do we do. Just another flaw in the Ronnie experiment. If you are playing 1 up front you need to rotate players but Ronnie has no one else to play apart from Griffiths.

Had a discussion in work the other day about the shambles of the cup draw and how the sfa have failed our game.

We got into the subject of Barry Hearns offer to the sfa about turning the spl into a booming franchise as you will. Just looking at what he's done for darts (turning a pub game into a popular "sport" with their events selling out constantly) do you think he could've been a sound promoter of our sport - obviously being a promoter he would want something back - or has the sfa got it right.

Just wondering what eds and fellow supporters opinion on this would be.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I'd like to see someone like Hearn come in to help run the game. The problem is that we have far too many people putting our game down, from the media to clubs and fans and everybody just accepts it. We as a country spend far too much time creaming our pants at the vastly over rated EPL instead of seeing how we can improve our own game.}

13 Feb 2016 14:51:26
See if you had someone like Hearn in we would get somewhere

Don't know how/ if you could get this data Ed? but Celtic MUST be the most featured team on LIVE tv in the UK in terms of games Hearn would then hold the TV companies to ransom to get a bigger slice of TV money IMO.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - It won't happen but stuff the TV companies. Let everybody subscribe to CelticTV to watch games and let us sell the oversea rights ourselves. In reality though if one club can produce CelticTV why can't the SPFL start their own channel?}

13 Feb 2016 15:02:56
At the end of the day it's money that is holding our league back, and hearn knows his way around money at the end of the day.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2016 15:04:25
That does happen Ed and will happen more so, when in Florida I was using my FL home address Ed to get the games there subscribing to Celtic TV for ages I was still picking it up back home too

So it cannot be hard to role out mate (y)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It probably isn't bud, but remember we're dealing with the SFA/SPFL here - they can't even get rigging a cup draw right ffs.}

13 Feb 2016 18:46:42
If Hearn want the gig he will need to get himself a blazer and a fine pair of brogues.

Just read a article that Celtic were the biggest selling replica shirt for Nike world wide never mind all the other merchandise, the more I am trying to learn myself about money coming in to Celtic and money going out it becomes more apparent that ther is something very very wrong at Celtic, I'm not going to put numbers up but ther is on my calculations that ther is 7 to 8 times the money per year coming in than going out, we as fans have an obligation to the history of are club to put a stop and demand that the books be open for all to see, if not I have no doubt Celtic fc will join that.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 Feb 2016 12:13:48
Celtic got a 1 off payment from Nike the amount they sell doesn't have much effect on Celtic I'm sure each top sold Nike keep £45 from it.

14 Feb 2016 10:06:09
English Bhoy whilst there is a lot wrong at Celtic, they are a PLC so I can assure you every penny that comes in is recorded and published in the accounts. There is no black hole the income reported in the accounts is correct.

Celtic roundabout.
before end of summer transfer window. RD "we'l bring in players who r better than wat we got". end of transfer window. 1 player out of 5 hold down a 1st team place and "ah we'l get a better quality in JANUARY! window"because"we can't compete with english market". january tranfer window "ah its a hard window to deal with . no1 wants 2 lose best players" we'l do it in the summer! ""we can't compete with english market". deja vu anyone?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

13 Feb 2016 11:11:12
Same season on season mate. Quality over quantity and that. I honestly can't see why the board don't see sense in spending 6m on one player as oppsed to 6m on 3-4 players. Throw wages into the equation and it probably makes it even worse. NL said the same. I think the head coach gets stringed along just as much as us you know. PL said himself if the club sees value in a 7-8m player we'll do it. Now those in the recruitment side of things clarly aren't fit for purpose as plenty of other clubs can find value for that much.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Feb 2016 11:19:06
Belfast Celt or anyone. Can you name a signing under rd that's been a success. I genuinely can't think of one.

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Feb 2016 11:24:50
I don't mind the 2-4 million mark being spent on players because there are plenty good players to be found at that price but I do think they need to raise the wage cap to attract these players.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Feb 2016 13:27:22
No not 1 signing for me buddy! The man is out of his depth but the main proplem is dd and the board. it almost as if they are trying to hold us back on purpose so when that team rangers come up, it will be competitve and we won't be 2 far infront of them so the can make more money of the back of it.

Agree0 Disagree1

13 Feb 2016 13:37:55
Gary, why mention RD and signings?

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2016 17:08:22
Because the original post mentioned rd and transfer window and it was a genuine question to see if anyone could name one. Even if you feel it's not relevant to the original post I would still be interested to see if anyone could name one successful signing since rd took over.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2016 18:28:46
Just Denayer really lol. The rest still have a lot to prove. Are you suggesting RD picks and sanctions the signings? Not sure what your angle was that's all.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2016 18:55:42
Not suggesting that at all. Was a genuine question as he came in late last summer so starting from last Jan he's had 3 full Windows and a lot of players have been signed and I can't honestly think of one succes. Denayer was a good signing had forgotten about him there is one good signing. Anyone else. It's not a direct dig at rd it's a genuine concern as to what is happening. I'm not a rd fan but he is clearly lawells puppet and we need to start signing quality players instead of spouting money on constant failures.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2016 20:23:53
Well we're just signing projects aren't we. The ones that do turn out to develop are replaced by other projects. The whole system is flawed. How can you progress like that? It doesn't matter who the head coach is when that's the way we operate. Utterly pointless.

Didn't mean to come across so defensive but to answer your question properly. Not many at all. But with timing of things etc there's a few signings under RD still have a lot to show. Janko has potential, Simunovic needs to stay fit, Christie looks talented. Just hypothetical ifs and buts though.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2016 20:59:56
It is just that mate. A guy posted yesterday his and his
Mates ideal starting 11. It
Consisted of a new gk. Simo jankco christie Allan and Roberts. That's how far back we have fallen. Clutching at straws that the guys who haven't been found out yet will be the answer. I'm not suggesting these guys will be found out but as you say we are reduced to clutching at straws. I wasn't having a direct pop at rd I just could not name one succes I had forgotten about Jason so I will give the club that one for now. But how far back must we fall before something changes. And in my eyes that has to be the manager as well. He is just a cheap option like almost all of our signings.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2016 21:05:52
When kids from Man City come in and improve us, and from what I've seen of Roberts he will do too, it says it all.

Boyata guidetti lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2016 10:12:29
The whole financial model is killing the club. Why buy Allen and Christie anyway. They won't improve the team. Then we play 1 up front so no striker apart from Griffiths gets a game. So we will never develop another striker because we play Griffiths every game. No one signed last season or this season has made an impact. That's about 20 players in, that's 2 teams of outfield players and not 1 has impressed. You couldn't make it up!

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2016 19:00:40
If Allan and Christie develop, they will improve the team as it is the quality of the attacking mid field players that support the one attacker that is very important.
