Jabbagate update; It seems our favourite impartial reporter is in fact a spy of James Bond proportions. He only showed Agent Whyte the "£15m warchest" piece to make sure he could not deny it later. Question one jabba; Why not interview him on the record, Agent Whyte was at this time on his charm offensive remember, that way he could hardly deny it could he?
It seems you have to get "close to people in football to gain the intelligence required to do the job. Well that takes care of the years spent crawling around Murrays rectum. He denies asking Agent Whyte for a job, I assume Thomson has copies of the e-mail, and then goes on to claim Himself and dopey keith the apprentice broke the Agent Whyte story and indeed brought "him down". Question two; Why then when anyone mentioned doubts about Agent Whyte did you resort to name calling and deflection? You also seem to missing the fact that it was Phil Mac who "broke the story" and numerous others before your paper.
He claims he was gathering information on Ticketus and the non payment of VAT anf taxes so keeping the lines open was "vital". You see jabba was "playing a game", and working for rangers was not the goal. Indeed he apparently kept a senior executive up to speed on all of this including Agent Whyte asking hin to work for him. A senior tv person was also in the loop as were two or three trustworthy colleagues. In fact they "actually laughed at the thought of working for a man they were going to expose" Question three; Now your hardly a shrinking violet Jabba, so why were your super spy tactics not released when the story broke? This would have painted you as a good investigator instead of the public perception which is a bumbling hack.
Any other time he would have "dismissed this without comment but this is a special time for The rangers, we are A YEAR ON FROM ADMINISTRATION" how proud you all must be! Indeed The rangers have released a documentary on this "very site" about this year. Lovely stuff. Question four. Can we assume, in your new hard line stance, that your legal people are, as we speak, preparing the paperwork to take Mr Thomson to task?. . . . green jhedi

Roses are red,
Rangers are blue,
Is jabba's position tenable?
Boo hoo hoo

Agent Whyte releasing emails?
If Jabba denies this he is relying on Whyte, as a witness, stating the emails didn't take place. I'm sure channel4 IT guys know the emails are genuine.

Kris Commans cheap shot Efe Ambrose was unprofessional and completely uncalled for. What he said may have been true but to go and say that to the press isn't really on. How would he have liked if he was blamed for the loss against St. Johnstone at home at the start of last season after missing that penalty and having a stinker. Unprofessional. ED do you think Lennon will discipline him for it?
shug {Ed007's Note - I don't know if he will but he should. I'm not a fan of team mates talking like that in public, it can cause problems.}

All I've seen on here all day is posts from no name folk and strange Manchester United fans. Yes Celtic got beat by Juventus last night at Celtic Park but it was in the LAST 16 OF THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE and , they won't be the only team that are going to get beat!

No idea if these posts are from The Rangers fans but I think surely they can't be, surely the highlight of season 2012/13 for The Rangers cannot be Celtic getting beat in the last 16 of the CL. Oh my how the mighty have fallen.

Celtic and Neil Lennon will learn and move on from yesterday. We are still the best in Scotland by a mile and will be for years to come.

My sincere condolences for tomorrow, just a shame the departed RFC's ugly offspring is playing away this weekend or you could have put a wreath in the centre of the park and held a minutes silence ~ Mrs E {Ed007's Note - With Andy Goram, Richard Gough and Gazza abseiling from the roof and someone bursting a balloon to start the minute's silence, you know their usual level and inability to determine classy/tacky.}

I was at the game last night and think I watched a different game.

Does anyone else think it was just so easy for juve. granted they never had many chances but the ones they had were taken. at no point during the game did juve face there own goal. not 1 ball in behind. not 1 pass to get them turned. apart from the header from ambrose every other shot on goal was from 20yards+. It has to be very special to beat buffon from there and in the second half don't think buffon made a save. I thought celtic knocked it about quite the thing but never got anywhere and it was dead easy for juve. for me, I don't think I really felt celtic really looked like scoring never mind winning. also does anyone else think FF should of done better with the second goal. top keepers save that.

this holding thing has to taken care of in football. All it will take is a ref with a pair to start dishin out pens left right and centre and it would stop instantly.

I read an article on another site (I know I know) called Questions Remain. In the article the author talks about Rangers being relegated three divisions and various other untruths. This is on their official site and was previously printed in one of their matchday programmes. What chance do the fans have if the club they support is so blatantly lying to them?

I would hope that were the shoe on the other foot we would not be so gullible.

Good god! I would urge every one to read Alex Thomsons blog today. This is astounding stuff. In it he shows e-mail communication between traynor and Agent Whyte. The first one is asking if what is being printed is okay with him! The second is actually touting himself for a job! This is the guy who claims he broke the Agent Whyte story to the world. To now sit in Piebrox talking about second rate reporting is incredible. So one year before he quit newspapers because he "was disillusioned with the way the industry was going" he wanted out. What a man of principle he is, sat on his large ass, taking the wage while he thought the paper was crap! We have been getting the shaft for years, watch the punishments rangers get, if any, from the LNS report. I am simply astounded!. . green jhedi

Thought Celtic were unlucky last night. I honestly think that the best team won on the night. I know I'll get shot down for saying that, but having watched the game I think Juve went to Celtic park and played with a game plan, which was to play Celtic at their own game. Celtic certainly played well on the night, but I don't think Juve really got out of 1st gear, they sorted of picked their moments to punish Celtic.

It's easy to blame the referee, which Celtic always do, but if you watch Italian, Spanish and even Portugese football you will see that the grappling thing is the norm, it happens at nearly every set piece in every match. Different referees have different views on these incidents so perhaps if it was a German or Swedish referee the outcome would have been different.

You'll certainly see a total different Juve team in the return leg. The final aggregate result could be bigger than expected.

Liverpool fan here, commented last night at half time saying that the ref was on Juve's payroll and my opinion never changed in the second half. Celtic should of had about 5 penalties from corners and I don't know how he booked Brown when he got man handled.

Other that that, you played well, Celtic looked far more dangerous but just couldn't get through that Juve defence, you have surprised me this year. I wrote you off in the group you were in but you held your own and they fans deserve it! I love watching your games just to hear that noise in the stadium! Great fans, good team just unfortunate about that result last night.

@Joey7Barton: Marking from the corners for Juve, has been borderline GBH at times. I went to jail for much less. #celticvjuve

What about the 4 or 5 penalties we should have had?, what about the 3 players they still had on the pitch that should have been sent off?

I was at the game and we looked terrible, came home and watched it on tv and we looked very good. can't explain that one.

If we have a fair official in Italy, I think its possible as they were rank rotten. If they never got out of neutral, then why the persistent fouling?

Sugar Shane Ambrose is getting pelters, but why? He didn't pick the team. I think winning the African cup of nations proves he's a good player, but he's not superman. Should have had Mulgrew or Rogne in at the back with Wilson. Apart from that, Lennon was spot on with his selction. Izzy was our best man last night, and it was the officials who beat us, not a good Juve team.

A wee quick goal in Turin and London may very well be calling again.

Well played last night lads, just got hee haw from a shocking referee, and nobody should be singled out for a poor performance.

Does anybody know what the extra officials behind the goal are meant to be watching for?

once again we have come up just short of a great result and in all honesty it showed we are just a little under this level right now but it also showed us how close we are and also the positions where we are short, unfortunately for us its the same most if not all fans talk about all the time a playmaker, targetman /big striker, hopefully it will be addressed in the summer, I know we just got rogic but we don't know his real talent/ position yet so let the boy develop, nl should also learn to take the blinkers of regarding james forrest,,,,, deep river bhoy

Serious question here lads (and ladies).

What are your honest opinions of Gary Hooper?

I personally don't rate him that highly. He is a good finisher and is quick, which stands out against most typically slow, sluggish SPL defences. However any time I have watched him in Europe, I have been very unimpressed. His work rate leaves a lot to be desired, his hold up play is poor and his all round game is not up to much at all imo.

As stated previously, I am a Rangers & MUFC fan. But I am not looking at it through blue/epl tinted specs. I honestly don't think Hooper would cut it in England. I said at the time, Celtic should have taken the £8m from Norwich because Hooper looks disinterested. I stand by that. Very poor last night imo. I don't think he is in the same class as Nikica Jelavic for instance, although he has been poor this season.

Opinions?

Morning Lads. Rangers & Manchester United fan here!

I thought you were very unlucky last night. Juventus didn't look a great side, although granted they did look like they could have stepped it up.

Was impressed by the way Celtic approached the match, looking to attack and test Juve. Refreshing to see from a so called lesser team. Although, maybe NL will be regretting it a little and wishing he had been slightly more conservative in order to ensure a positive result to take to Turin.

Over the course of the 90 minutes Celtic were the better team to watch, no doubt. But typically Italian were Juve and they had a solid game plan. Although the ref was a bit of a joke to be fair.

I thought Wanyama was outstanding. The best player on the pitch for Celtic by a long way. He is so assured for a young kid.

You can be proud of your teams efforts though. On another night and with a bit of luck, it could have been a much more positive outcome for you.

I don't see you turning it around, but stranger things have happened. Go away, enjoy the trip, and keep believing

Come on MUFC tonight.

Folks
Some of you appear to be annoyed at Lenny and the team. Others are more understanding of the facts.
It is true we were clearly hard done by with some decisions but overall we were beaten by a team of players who are at a higher level. They didn't have a lot of chances but they took 3 of them very well. We didn't, even if it was a combo of our poor finishing or their tactics.
The Juve players are a collection of very cunning and shrewd footballers. They showed last night that they could deal with the crowd, manipulate the officials and unsettle our team.
Were thay a bit cheeky in their behaviour? Yes
Did they play the better football on the night? No
Were they the better team overall? Yes, because they won 3-0.
Guys let's face reality. if we play them, and teams like them, 10 times we'll probably win once or twice. And that's why their players are all top guys playing in Serie A and our players are playing in the SPL.
10 out of 10 to the Bhoys for effort and enthusiasm. You could see they wanted to do it for the crowd and the club but they came up short.
If we're all honest I don't think too many of us expected us to go through to the last 8 so this was always going to be the end of our very successful European journey anyway. We can feel aggrieved about certain aspects of the game but we were outgunned at the end of the day.
Never mind. The journey has been excellent. Well done to Lenny and the team. and the support last night was epic!

thought apart from the mistakes we all played great last night, the only suggestion I would make is that Matthews should have replaced Forrest and going forwards do people think it would be a better position for him as he can take on opponents, can cross and has a great shot on him and as a defender would provide cover for whoever plays RB when we play in the big european games

Home now in Wales after game last night. Just watching sly sports with dermot gallagher commenting on refereeing and going through the laws and everything he says is spot on. Now I thought we played well last night and very proud of our team and I'm not saying the final score is all down to the ref but big decisions change games and at 1 0 I felt if we scored we would go on and win. If only we had been given 1 of the 2 definate penalties we would have been talking about a different game. Referees need to be accountable for blatant poor decisions there was no excuse he had already acknowledged that he had seen the offences by booking the players.

All the officals last night had selective eye sight, they only saw what they wanted to see, expect more of the same in the next game, would not be surprised if a celtic player gets sent off for something trivial in the 2nd leg, the officials had enough chances to do something about the way juventus defended as a team last night but there bottle crashed on plenty of occasions. I know there will be different officials in charge in the next game, but juventus will probally defend the exact same way. Glen 1967.

Very disappointed with last nights game. I put the blame squarely at Lennons feet. He milked the plaudits after the Barca game, now he must take a long look in the mirror.

Ambrose was a disaster, what was Lennon thinking, only he himself knows.

Forrest was also poor, personally I don't rate him. For me the first name on that Celtic sheet every week is Joe Ledley and he was on bench warming duty all night.

BBJ or CHris Sutton would not have taken that Sh*t off the Juve defenders last night. There would have been fireworks.

We should have bought a first class Central Defender and a big muscling centre forward in the window. But we all know it was never going to happen.

Now let's set a different target for ourselves from now until the end of the season. No more domestic point dropping.

ps Don't mention that excuse of a ref!.

Bad Bhoy.

Like to say sorry for my drunken outbursts earlier about the zombies, shouldn't let them get to me seeing as they have like the 45th best squad in Scotland. Proud man still, my girlfriends wee brother from China loved Paradise he said he has never felt an atmosphere like that in his life (and there's been better at CP, 1st goal really drained the spirit) My girls wee bro is 15 and I let him try booze for the first time in his life he was in some state so if anyone seeing a white guy with a Chinese boy on his back after the game it was me haha! Thought we played excellent tonight. For 75mins at least. Ref should have steped in at corners as it was a bit of a joke. Proud of the team tonight. Played well didn't let their heads go down. Yes efe made some mistakes that cost us but I don't blame him. he's still an excellent player an I agreed with lennon starting him. Just look forward to the second leg now and see if the team can make us proud with another good display.

I think we played great! Came out attacking from the start. Stupid mistake allowed first goal but I think the fact some juve players were pulling them about and nothing was done about it finally got to them. Last 20min looked like they gave up. We could have scored but seemed like every attempt was aimed at the goalies hands. Didn't even need to move to save them. The score just doesn't reflect the game. Celtic were the better team. Even after the first goal I thought we would win it. The bhoys were playing damn well and juve relied on dirty tactics and a soft ref

Well said gunnie & jj, I thought 3-0 flattered juve, the holding at corners beggars belief that 3 officials can't see anything wrong. The thing that really p****** me off tonight were the newby glory hunting supporters around me tonight, I had this clown 2 or 3 seats away from me spouting p*** all night, then got up and left when the 2nd goal went in shouting how much of a disgrace we are, I even witnessed a few clowns chucking their scarves away. Wish those f****** would just stay away. . Stevie
