With the top 6 decided and knowing we've a trip to Tannadice and Pittodrie after the split a definite, who are we going to be forced to be away to for the 3rd time this season St Johnstone,, Dundee or Caley. Guaranteed to be Caley

Steviek we may or may not have the pleasure of a return visit to Caley . We will soon know, and if we do return I have little doubt we will show them who is best and beat them .

All the talk so far is who is coming in who do you want to see leave? Apart from the obvious Ambrose, boerighter, Tonev and Wakaso I would sell Izzy, my reason being I think we have got the best from him he will come back tired from his international tournament meaning no rest in 4 years sell him while his reputation is still high. Also if a bid came in for Stokes or Forrest I would consider letting them go also. We need to free up wages and spaces for either new players coming in or our U21 players stepping up. Thoughts everybody?

If zaluska goes and no replacement brought in, could this be young Fasans chance to be introduced as understudy to Gordon?

Can see Michael Duffy getting a chance next season

Agree with all above and as I mentioned on transfer rumours really like the look of the LB Adnan (that we are apparently looking at) who could be set to replace Izzy - tall, not slow and better delivery from the small bits I've seen of him

13 Apr 2015 19:42:40
From what I have seen of Fasan he seams a competent young lad for cover but I think we will need one more for that position. Izzy I would keep still think he is as good as we can afford as for all the rest you mentioned Tim I agree with you mate

To talk about getting selling Izzy is either a serious fishing trip or else a very stupid thought . To force sell one of our most popular and consistent players who came to us four years ago and seems to enjoy every minute of his stay .

Emilio is a celtic stalwart. We aren't using him so much as an attacking threat now we've got Armstrong and GMS in the middle of the park, but let's not forget he was consistently about our best option going forward for the early part of the season (I realise that's not exactly complimentary to those in front of him). Now, he's coming inside a lot more and he looks much more comfortable on the ball. He generally beats the first man and gets the pass away, often right into the danger area. It important to retain this threat, especially for Europe (and, with Lustig and Matthews on the other side, it adds considerable width to the team).

With Johansen, Emilio seems the fittest in the squad, and does the most running. No way Delia doesn't see this. Could see him getting a testimonial for the hoops.

Izzy just needs an understudy and the odd week off.

Think we missed a trick with not getting Graeme Shinnie signed up on a pre-contract. Thought he was one of the best players on the park on Saturday and if we signed him he would provide the competition we need for Izzy.

Izzy has been top class for 4years. Why the sudden need to get competition for him .
If a position isn't broke , don't try to mend it .
We have two of the highest quality right backs we could expect to have and for long periods of this season neither has been fit .
Getting back-up or competition for Izzy may not work either.

Agree with all of the post - apart from Izzy, Tim.
Stokes and Forrest seem to have went backwards, while Tonev, Wakaso, Boerighter, Berget and Scepovic never got started.
If we add Guidetti and either (or both) of the centre halves and Ambrose as you mention it would mean a huge turn-over.
Izzy can make defensive mistakes at any time, but he is one of our most important attacking options and can beat his man with ease - and there are not many at the club who can.
I would say Izzaguire is almost back to his best this season and is an automatic choice.
My other worry is the right back slot as we have two excellent candidates who unfortunately have serious injury problems and that's why Ambrose will probably stay?

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Apr 2015 09:38:18
Some of Izzy's performances have been very poor, which needs to be put down to tiredness at times since we all know he's a good player. He's been to World Cups and travelled here, there and everywhere across the Americas without an established understudy. He loves the club and would love to stay I'm sure (after his "come get me" plea to Manchester United backfired) but the lack of serious competition means he can play poorly for a long spell and still walk into the team which isn't right, especially when you look at the competition for RB. He needs to improve his final ball dramatically also.

Agree0 Disagree1

14 Apr 2015 10:11:27
That's just total mince, I myself like Izzy but we don't have ANY other left back at the club - hence why Ambrose filled in recently. Why get an understudy when you can get someone as good (and younger - for future)and have them both competing for a place? Certain games would be good to have a better defensive LB where as certain games (probably most in SPL) would be more attack minded. If Lustig was fit we would have a perfect RB situation. what's wrong with having same for left!?

Love the new NB home shirt if this leaked one is infact the real deal. Although different collar it reminds me of one we wore from 93-95. Hope we go with the 67 look of plain white shorts and socks. Very classy look.

{Ed007's Note - Is this the bumble bee one you seen, Gary?

I hadn't seen any pics mate. Had just heard that was the 2 change strips. A pin stripe green like ni home and bumble bee. Dunno how true it is. Have you seen the new home that people are talking about on here cause I haven't. Anyway you could get a pic of that on if you have. Cheers

{Ed007's Note - I put it up yesterday mate, if you scroll down the screen you'll see it. JungleBhoy (JB) who comments on the other post will keep us up to date with it all.}

Nice and right next to pic of pin stripe top ha ha. Makes me look like a bigger t.t than the one in the pic. When I say I had heard this a few weeks ago and didn't see any of those posts you'll just have to believe me. Hundreds wouldn't

My hope and wish for this new season (2015-2016) is that the board recognise that we need some new players in as soon as. The central defence is going to be decimated so we need that sorted out as quick as possible or in my opinion we can kiss good by to the CL hope its not going to be the same old same old wait to see if we qualify first because we won't if we don't act straight away

first of all Ronny needs to sort out the key positions that we need to fill. Then Ronny has to agree with the scouts on the players that he wants to come in and fill those places . Ronny and the board need to decide the budgets that are available and what Ronny can do to help to raise part of this budget budget , through player sales and players moved out on loan . With all the involved partners fully aware of what can and cannot be done it is up to Ronny and the board to bring in the necessary players I think Ronny should insist that he is envolved in the hiring and firing of players . He needs to play a more hands-on approach than was previously used at Celtic by some coaches/managers .

13 Apr 2015 15:24:08
I agree with some of what you said Chris but EM NO CBs? I am sure RD sees that as KEY positions that need filled and if we don't fill them before the CL qualifiers we are out and I am sure RD has got scouts looking at that area of field and pinpointed the players in question to bring in. My point being is wondering IF the board see it to . I hope the board have sorted out at least some part of budget to start with to get the KEY positions filled then if we progress release more funds through as you said sail of players and cancelling players contracts that have no future with us to bring in the other players that RD wants

, Rd has got it right in defence and midfield,he rotates different players of a similar calibre. But the most important person in a 4-2-3+1 has to be the striker. we don't have one sorry but that's the truth. there's nothing wrong with Gudetti or Griffiths but the possession we have and the balls in the box ratio niether is good enough to be a celtic striker. I take my hat of to the manager as he has a system working so well that the defenders and midfield chip in with so many goals that we have forgotten that we don't have a decent Stricker.

Markie the most important thing is that we score plenty of goals . I still think we are a work in progress with this . I don't care if we have a player scoring 35 league goals and three attacking midfielders each contributing 15 plus a season , or if our front men collectively score 80 goals shared out equally . Our centre midfielders and back four should score about 20. We need better delivery of set pieces and more accurate pull backs to players running into the box . Deila, I think will regard this as continual job of work that can always be improved. I am not sure if he will ever opt for a specialist leader of the attack. IMO such a player , if he was any good would be too expensive for us .

I see on the rumours page that Celtic are again looking to bring in more players on loan, I think we should be limiting these signings and going for permanent signings, this season we took 5 on loan with mixed success, buy 2 permanent players then go with some of our younger players to bulk up the squad.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

13 Apr 2015 08:21:05
I think loans at start of season with likes of wakaso, tonev and berget were brought in as a stop gap untill Deila had time to assess squad. can't see wakaso or tonev playing again even coming on as subs.

Can see a few new faces being brought in on permanent deals and wouldn't be surprised if we see a few bosman signings.

Loans can work out better would have been better if screpovic was brought In that way rather than spend what we did in the past thete have been plenty to be bought and flop big time balde.pukki.the tampon so the board are doing what's best in the long run.the loans we did make agreed only 2 worked out but i'm glad JG is only a loan.are you not glad we never signed wakkaso or tonev can't even think who the 5th loan was.I don't know what's the problem with our own youth players once they get in to the first team have a few good games they have a few bad and become terrible apparently just look at Forrest and McGregor

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Apr 2015 13:36:35
I think loans are ok if not good as long as we have a view to take up the contract at the end of the loan term that way we can see what we are getting before spending to much on a dud

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Apr 2015 15:00:36
I think Ronny has lost interest in Tonev and Wakkaso before the season has been half over . Both are a clear example of how loans don't work as they will be going back to their " owner" clubs or will have run out of contract without having done anything to earn a new contract . The same thing happens when we buy players some like Johannson come in and work their socks off , others like Scepovic and Balde seem to come to Glasgow for the craic and make no attempt to improve themselves as footballers . Whether we loan or buy , unless the players want to develop and learn to play in the Celtic way for Ronny we won't be any better off . Ronny knew Berget and had high hopes for him but he certainly didn't repay Ronny's faith
Let's hope whoever we sign , on a loan or buy come to Glasgow with a hunger to be a better footballer .

I think loan signings are good, too many players come to the spl and must be thinking there going to walk it, but I think there actually suprised by the physical side of it, certain players suit certain leagues even some players go to the epl can't make it go abroad and flourish its about finding the right player so without having money to burn loans look the best option, never used to be a fan but we could of wasted some money on the current loans by signing instead.
