After watching tonight's game i'm wondering who the biggest bullet was we dodged. Davie Moyes or Jason Denayer?

Believable6 Unbelievable2

I agree we are in a good place now with both players and manager.

Denayer was never the same when he left, the money/ hype got to his head and turned it. He dissed our club after we put him on stage but now is a shadow of the player he was. Some just don't get how Celtic would be better place for a player. ex: dembele seems to get it!

Moyes is nothing special and would have been bad for our club, him too thinks he is bigger then our club when he has won nothing. EPL big heads as usual.

Alright Bhoys, heading over to Dublin tomorrow for a few meetings. Where is the best pub to watch the game. Last time I was over hardly anywhere was showing Celtic.

The bottom of O'Connel St there is the living room. Nice pub loads of tvs quality smoking area. Will be showing every game. Would image Celtic b main game. the is a pub in parnell St. Called the outback quite similar to living room as well. I'm born, bred and still live in the fair city.

Live on outskirts towards border with louth, and for my troubles I drive 2hrs to work in Belfast. Will be down the local 2mora nite, so if he's out and about in North Co dublin drop me a buzz via this and I'll oblige, the first be on me. But will not be venturing in to Dublin City nightmare to get back during the week.

Re an earlier post ed. you might be too young to remember but there was a song about the ibrox disaster it started mid to late seventies I think in part as a response to rangers fans singing about Paul Wilson mothers death. in that period some of the songs sung were pretty raw on both sides and you would never hear them now. but regardless of that the spin doctors at ibrox are revelling in the knowledge celtic will keep quiet and let it blow over . I for one hope they do ban us from ibrox as I hate giving them a single penny. do their memories not go back to the early / mid seventies when they gave us almost half the stadium too get people / income in the stands as the "bears" stopped going. but when the souness era kicked of and they came crawling back they soon reduced our allocations . got a bit sidetracked there . anyway high fiπŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹ve.

Believable5 Unbelievable3

{Ed007's Note - I was born in 1974 so a bit before my time, DRB and I don't doubt you that it happened if you say so. Most people these days know what is and isn't acceptable - and the ones who don't just buy season tickets at Ibrox to air their out-dated sectarian views.
Celtic have released a statement about Saturday:

Celtic will not become involved in a tit for tat spat regarding all events at Celtic Park on Saturday, we will deal with all issues arising in a proper and professional manner in line with our well established policies.
Saturday was a fantastic event for the club and our fans worldwide. We thank the overwhelming majority of our supporters for the positive backing they gave to the team and for making this such a great occasion.

As usual we're the only Club to show any sort of class and dignity - what sort of people would stoop so low as to hijack an ex-player's brothers tragic death to point score?
TRIFC has now become as vile and toxic as a football club as it's predecessor was and they are openly trying to drag Scottish football down to their own gutter level.}

12 Sep 2016 19:41:44
ED007 everybody and their ma knows they are trying to deflect attention away from the gubbing and to try and keep their gullible fans spending whatever money they have on the club, but the media are loving it, and I can guarantee every trash Scottish paper will have the TRIFC statement on the front page and protray them as "victims"
Celtic are trying to maintain a dignified silence, but sometimes the club need to stand up for Celtic Football Club and the vast majority of our decent fans.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The Club has done the right thing, Timbo. Let them fester in their own hatred and hypocrisy. They've taken offence at these dolls yet were happy to sing at full pelt a sectarian song with the line 'Build my gallows, build them high', the irony as usual must be lost on them.
It's despicable that they have hijacked a young man's suicide like this, Tim and my heart goes out to the entire Boyd family and considering there were no details released regarding his death as far as I know it makes any link even more tenuous.}

12 Sep 2016 19:48:43
That mob accusing us of sectarianism is like the KKK accusing someone of racism.

Agree6 Disagree0

12 Sep 2016 19:52:26
It is worse imo. I stated on Sevco page they are at war with everyone.

1. SFA
2. Puma
3. Sports Direct / MASH
4. 32 Red
5. Hibernian
6. Us
7. Rangers Retail also I believe due to certain board members

The behavior is disgusting and the hacks who support their twisted narrative should hold their heads in shame. The only ones who refuse to see it and blame everybody else and justify their action. They are the lowest common denominator. Fact!

Agree2 Disagree0

12 Sep 2016 20:13:06
I totally agree with you ED. I also think that they are using the tragic death of Kris Boyd's brother to try and deflect from the shambolic performance from their team, how low can they get.
They should start to put their own house in order regarding sectarianism before they try to take the moral high ground. What do they say about people in glass houses? .

Agree3 Disagree3

{Ed007's Note - I know for a fact that one director at Ibrox was against getting involved in this, Gerry but sadly others are listening to thugs and bigots because they know they need to be seen as 'real Rangers men' - which seems to mean the exact same same as moon-howling raving bigot - to keep the money coming in.}

12 Sep 2016 23:12:17
We don't know why the person who erected these effigies of hanging dolls did so. It certainly isn't something new and some people would have been hurt by them, but a hell of a lot more have created imaginary hurt and jumped on the band - wagon . I think while condemning the idiot who hung these images without commenting why .
Saturday was world sucicide day and as these islands have had horrendrous numbers taking their own lives, could we use the illustration of the stupidity of these hanging dolls to explain the senseless act of taking one's life and if this caused even one troubled soul from going through with this terrible act . We should remember every family whose love one as died this way .

Agree1 Disagree1

12 Sep 2016 18:39:18
1st time poster, long time reader though, would just like to comment on the hanging of dolls, think this was a bit distasteful but the statement from sevconia regarding banning all celtic fans, we should give them what they want and boycot games at their shot hole, its always everyone else to blame with them.

Or

49000 ugly bigoted supporters at ibroke spewing their sectarian bile for 90 minutes at the next NGD?

That the true fans need to put an end to this nonsense that exists in both set of fans and make our football stadiums a safe place to watch football fir families and specifically the kids.
They are the future of our club and we need to take back our game from those that just want to use it as a platform for a good scrap and some wonton destruction of each others stadiums.
I agree with this and feel we should take the higher ground here.

I've just read it and quite simply it is a disgrace and embarrassing to suggest the display was sectarian! I don't hate many things but everything that club stands for I hate!

Celtic have chosen not to respond or to get involved in "tit for tat".

Within minutes of kick off the WHOLE WORLD heard the usual sectarian bile of BANNED songs from that mob and as usual nothing is done. Then the pictures of the damage along with videos online showing them acting like animals.

Time for action to be taken against that mob!

Agree7 Disagree0

12 Sep 2016 17:51:55
Just like after the cup final . It was all about hibs fans coming on the park . No mention of sectarian singing . Their hooligan fans fighting or the fact they got beat . Just negative press an lies to take the heat away .

Fast forward to Saturdays defeat? Blow up dolls are now offensive? What about the ones they hung with reference to whyte and green?

I'm not condoning it . But where is the mass media hunt about out toilets being trashed? Police stationed outside? Videos of the animals social media boasting whilst doing it?

But let's not reflect on the teams poor performance. Dumbelles hatrick . Or even the unsportmanship of the diving amongst their players?

Anything for the msms to degrade celtic and allow them breathing space after another failing. Level 5 must have more money than king.

Agree3 Disagree0

12 Sep 2016 18:04:34
I think the dolls was in very poor taste and not very funny. But are the powers that be at Ibrox having a feckn laugh wanting action taken for sectarianism! Warburton and the first teams feet are still feckn sore from marching with the Shankhill Defenders in Belfast an event obviously sanctioned by those at the top at Ibrox.

Agree3 Disagree1

12 Sep 2016 18:15:06

S (evco) TV Sport are also leading with this garbage and I sincerely hope Peter Lawell or another Celtic spokesperson speak out.
This is an all-to-familiar deflection and camouflaging tactic by these incredibly brazen clowns who dwell on hatred and bigotry.
The fact that Sevco are still pretending to be the dead club from Govan, instead of keeping their mouths shut and giving thanks for the use of a training complex and stadium that should have been repossessed to pay the obscene debt run up by Rangers 1872-2012.
Scotland's newest club were totally outclassed and humiliated on Saturday, but hey-ho, let's start pointing fingers and crying wolf before anyone asks any serious questions or harvest doubt about The Cockney bread boy.
No class, no integrity, no history, but plenty of baggage.

Agree4 Disagree0

12 Sep 2016 18:21:44
How the hell can Rangers as a club claim the moral high ground over these dolls and sectarian banners? Granted my own view is that the dolls were very distasteful., but for a club that for years that sing about " being up to they're knees in fenian blood" and other sectarian songs I feel a the statement a tad embarrassing. I also can't believe the sheer balls of these supporters groups demanding banning Celtic fans from the next game at ibrox. We were banned years ago from ibrox for I think damage done to ibrox in a previous game yet for years they've strolled into parkhead and wrecked the place. Crackpots!

We've just put the tribute act well and truly in there place and are looking forward to playing against messi Suarez Neymar and the rest tomorrow! It's a great time to be a tim and nothing those scumbags say will deflect for from that! There al just realising that there managers hat isn't so magic against the big teams and it kills them to think we're going to dominate for years to come! The BBC Scotland news tonight reported that their fans want hoops fans banned for hanging a few dolls and a banner in the GB end, no mention of toilets getting trashed or the usual Billy boys chants. On the day of the champs leaguie draw they started off with a story about Rangers complaining about Hibs fans in the cup final ( again ) months ago before they got round to mentioning who we got in the Champs league draw. For a lad who's just 19 to show the maturity and tactical nouse that he possesses is a joy to watch. He's already some player but he's going to be truly magnificent.
Also, Lustig was immense. The whole team was immense but he was a bit immenser than most! lol HH.

Ladbroke are offering 28/ 1 on Celtic to win and the handicap is Celtic +3 even money, for Tuesday total lack of respect since Barcelona lost on the weekend to a team that was 22/ 1 to win at home. The pressure is on them at home now. We are buzzing from the weekend. I'm v confident and always say a point away is how you qualify.

Let's be honest here and take our green tinted specs off. Barcelona are capable of pumping anyone in the world just now. I have seen them put 5 past Real Madrid and 4 past Bayern Munich, who are probably two of the best teams in world football at the moment.

They are miles ahead of us and if we escape without a pumping we will have done well. Yes, there is a slither of a chance of taking points if we defend like demons and hope they have a poor night in front of goal.

Agree3 Disagree0

12 Sep 2016 09:33:33
I always believe that as much as the statistics say on paper, the game is played on grass. Players have off days when nothing just goes right and of course, players have days when everything they touch just clicks.
We have players who are buzzing right now and unlike previous encounters, Saturday's game was a stroll but should have given our players a lift. The game will have given the Barcelona staff some food for thought.
Looking forward to a great game and at least a point. Whatever the result, hail Hail.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Sep 2016 10:26:17
Huge difference between Sevco and Barcelona and with their first choice team in the camp nou, it will be almost mission impossible to get any kind of result.
We are perennial strugglers away from home in Europe and have even had problems in the qualifiers - losing twice so I would hope and expect we do all our best work at Celtic Park and the others take points off each other and we will see how it goes?
Obviously we are improving all the time and have started the domestic campaign as well as I can remember and our forward players are in great form but we still lose soft goals against even the weakest of opponents; so we are a ' work in progress' with room for improvement in Europe.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Sep 2016 11:00:42
Surely it shows huge respect by Barcelona that resting the numbers of which they did. Granted the team is worth multiples of ours as is there reserves. But Celtic, on a high and more importantly playing as a team and each player actually looks happy and enjoying football, I'm quite positive a draw is within our clasp. The only fear I have is our away form in Europe is horrendous, but stats are there to be changed.

I'd like to ask yous would you name an unchanged team and go at them (something which they would not like or possibly expect) or be more reserved.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Sep 2016 22:01:08
No

Five at the back
One up top
Pack the middle
Invite cross balls

Focus on set pieces and drawing free kicks

It WILL be a very long night and I'd take a solid performance that keeps confidence in tact with no injuries

A point would be phenomenal but it would be highly unusual. It would be like a poor championship team beating Celtic in a cup quarter final at Celtic park, the gulf is that big.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Sep 2016 08:01:01
I heard young Windass is out injured, his back is killing him from carrying the other 10 on saturday.
Joey Barton is still missing
Warburton has been committed his family say he is highly confused, dilusional and fact and fictional have become blurred.
David weir and Joe garner are been sent to the same programme that violent prisoners have to per take in prior to being released.
Senderous has got signed to Chicago bulls for his ball control with his hand.

Sevco fans taking the moral high ground about the hanging blow up dolls making up it was about kris boyds brother it really annoyes me they are getting away with these lies trying to pull our name down to there vile level. it was about there old club dying it was unfortunate about the date and what happened a few days earlier.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

{Ed007's Note - Don't bother your backside, Gordo, or anyone else. Everyone including TRIFC fans and people at Ibrox know it had nothing to do with the tragic death of Boyd's brother. I wonder if any TRIFC support has spoken to Boyd or his family to explain why they are dragging their family's horrible bereavement into their whataboutery games? These people are pathetic and it says a lot more about them that they tied a tasteless stunt at a football match to a young man's untimely and tragic death. The family have enough to deal with without being dragged into the cesspit that is the TRIFC's point scoring.
To be abundantly clear, this is no more than them trying to deflect from their customary wrecking the toilets and costing thousands of pounds worth of damage to seats as well.
They'll be scouring obituaries to see who died at the same as them in 2012 to see if they can be offended about Celtic fans carrying cardboard coffins and wearing grim reaper masks.
Lee Wallace would be embarrassed to report this! Why wasn't social media buzzing about it until hours after the pictures of the wrecked toilets appeared? It took one them that long to come up with the idea, that's why.}

12 Sep 2016 05:07:43
There's an abundance of uncle toms finding offence also, including the blogger that wets his pants ever time a member of the GB farts.

Agree1 Disagree1

12 Sep 2016 06:56:30
They have a track record of doing this. I seem to recall Alex Thomson making a comment about them a few years ago and referred to them as Daleks.

The online hun brigade said daleks can't walk down stairs and ludicrously tried to claim that Thomson was making reference to the Ibrox disaster.

I can't make up my mind who is the worst, the people that come up with the lie to try and twist things or the people who believe it. All I know is both parties make their club and fans a laughing stock for everyone else.

Agree2 Disagree0

12 Sep 2016 08:27:10
Adding to that the one's acting offended are ones that sang and sing about pedophiles as if it's a joke yet it happened at there old club Johnny charmers molested there youth we don't sing songs and joke about it though because we aren't vile scum just people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones still annoyed they tar our fans in with there's.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Sep 2016 12:00:18
ED007 it was also so so predictable that an "official" statement from the new club was hurriedely prepared for the press, "condemning" all our fans but conveniently forgetting their own fans part in the wrecking spree. As you say they are the world champions at deflection after a bad defeat.
But also for the record, can I say do these idiot Celtic fans ever think before pulling off stunts like the dummies, tasteless is the mildest word to use. But again as like the toilets why did the police or stewards not try and stop them.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It was a stupid and crass idea, but offensive - no chance. The people upset by this made up nonsense and faux outrage are the exact same people that think it's acceptable to sing about being up to their knees in Fenian blood etc and posing with vermin who glorify sectarian murderers, not to mention supporting apartheid and mass genocide in Israel.
Should we really be taking a sermon about right and wrong from anyone at Ibrox when even their chairman is a criminal and they have an ex-convict as the hero in their team?}

12 Sep 2016 13:17:57
The most infuriating thing about this is that they are trying their hardest to make some kind of link between the 2 events so they can act outraged when it was their fans who actually did make up a song about Scott Brown's sister dying of cancer! How many of them even knew it was suicide awareness day do you reckon? I certainly didn't. I'd never heard of it until this stuff was flagged up as if everybody knows all about it. It was a thoughtless and tasteless display but that's all.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Sep 2016 13:37:15
I've said it before, the only people connecting the effigies with Kris Boyd's personal loss is Rangers and panty wetters.

As well as which, the effigies had their hands tied so it'd be more accurate to say they were lynchings - which is bad in and of itself of course, but doesn't fit the narrative.

Truth is, it was an unfunny joke -but as you say ED, offensive? Only if you are looking to be offended.

Someone once said "offence is taken, not given", and in the wake of the result, there are people more than willing to take.

Agree2 Disagree0

12 Sep 2016 14:46:39
Kev they have a song about Tommy Burns too i'll not go into the words of it on here out of respect for Tommy's family but it's vile. Everyone knows Tommy didn't have an ounce of hate in him either towards them.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Sep 2016 16:24:09
james I know, it's terrible and there are some within our support who think it's ok to mock the Ibrox disaster etc. The fact is it's always a few clowns who show the majority in a bad light. This talk about banning our fans from Ibrox etc. is a complete farce and, as Ed says, is nothing but a deflection tactic. I do think future displays need to be thought out much better as the Hun Scum banner wasn't just directed at the stereotypical supporter we all envisage, there were kids, pensioners etc there too.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Anyone that mocks the Ibrox Disaster is sick in the head. I've heard people crack a few jokes about it over the years but in all my years of following Celtic all over the UK, Ireland and Europe, Irish nights all over the place etc I can honestly say I have never heard the fabled song TRIFC supporters accuse us of having about it. If it exists it must just be one person/group of people have sung it and it's been heard and snowballed from there. After running a supporter's bus out of Hamilton for years I reckon I would have heard it at some point.}

12 Sep 2016 16:45:03
No Ed I don't think the "song" actually exists either but I've heard the jokes and similar chants to the ones about Hillsborough. There's rivalry and banter but that's just silly stuff. I did feel there was a wee bit of an edge to the displays on Saturday though, there's usually a bit of humour in amongst it all but I didn't see that this time.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I thought the main Green Brigade display was an absolute belter.}

To kris boyd i send my condolences as I have lost a friend to similar circumstances in the past and its not a great experience.

Having said that i don't believe for a minute that stunt on Saturday was anything other than a prank gone wrong and wasnt for kris's benefit.
Putting it into perspective why would we look to offend kris? Jesus the guy was a non entity when he played us and i used to love it when he was on there teamsheet.
I think its a deflection from the toilet carry on which itself is an attemp to deflect away from the score.

On the subject of being offended does anyone think there will be some catalonian flags at camp nou?
I wouldn't want Barcelona to be fined given uefas "stance" on the matter.

HH.
