Myuloko it seems is in France for an operation and will be sidelined for a considerable time . I think we've made a gaffe signing a player with an injury record like he had . I never seen him getting injured while playing . Have you any info what happend to him Ed . DH {Ed007's Note - Sorry bud, I've no idea what happened to him. I would be surprised to see him in the Hoops again, best of luck to the guy though.}

To snap your achilles is quite a freak injury, is it not?

This is the piece mentioned by Anne W below.Good read.

How Celtic have set the benchmark for honouring football heroes with Stiliyan Petrov's charity match

James Nursey says the outpouring of love, support and admiration for Petrov was totally genuine and unscripted - and sets a high bar for future games

Whether it is your team losing, bad refereeing decisions or the latest controversial behaviour by a big-earning player, the high passions sparked by football can leave ardent fans regularly despairing.

There are certainly precious few occasions where every single person in a packed stadium leaves uplifted, happy, inspired and positive.

Yet those were the precise emotions I and 60,000 other fans, players and officials felt as we left Celtic Park on Sunday night.

I am very glad I made the effort for Stiliyan Petrov's charity match - and to visit Celtic Park for the first time - as it was a educational and memorable experience.

To put simply, Celtic put on a heck of a show.

But the outpouring of love, support and admiration for Petrov was totally genuine and unscripted.

The A-list turnout of names including John Terry, Martin O'Neill, Kenny Dalglish, Paul Lambert, Henrik Larsson, Jamie Redknapp, Gareth Barry, Gabriel Agbonlahor and Co is testimony to Petrov's popularity among peers.

Numerous stars from all his clubs at Celtic, Aston Villa and from Bulgaria were well represented following Petrov's high-profile battle with Leukaemia.

Agbonlahor's crunching challenge on One Direction's Louis Tomlinson (and the pop star's subsequent vomiting) may have generated many headlines in the Celtic XI versus a Stiliyan XI charity match, but Petrov was rightly actually the centre of attention

It left the ace and his family in tears at the end when Petrov did an emotional lap of honour around the pitch.

It was incredible the huge, genuine warmth Celtic continue to show Petrov despite him leaving seven years ago to join Villa.

It all started on the Saturday night with a sell-out dinner for Petrov at Celtic Park to around 400 punters.

I was kindly invited by sponsors Vibe, a British audio company .

The evening got off the flyer with tributes on the big-screen including this incredible You-tube music video from a group of young Thais who are funded by Celtic.

Their adapted version of: 'Stan(d) by your man' is well worth watching.

Organisers put it in context by explaining Celtic's origins as a club for impoverished children set-up by Brother Walfrid.

This heritage and charitable ethos remains today and underpins the 'Celtic family' values.

As the evening wore on, Petrov was lauded by his hospital consultant, who said it was a "privilege" to know him.

While his old Villa boss O'Neill cited Petrov's character to establish himself at the club following a difficult start and his generosity as skipper when he regularly quietly bought tickets for team-mates' families to make up any shortfall.

Barry also spoke to emphasis Petrov's friendly manner and personality which have made him so popular with team-mates and fans.

Petrov rounded off the evening by taking to the mic himself to answer a Q&A from the floor on his career.

Throughout it all, humble Petrov displayed no ego and was quick to thank both his family and doctors for getting him through.

It was a tremendous feel-good event but everyone, including Petrov in particular, were truly blown away by the Celtic fans (plus a few from Villa) at the crowd on Sunday.

Most fans I saw had either a commemorative Petrov scarf, flag or programme.

They sang his name and that of other returning Celtic legends like Larsson for much of the afternoon.

Petrov received standing ovations from the entire 60,000-strong crowd THREE times: before, during (in the 19th minute) and after the game.

And when Petrov told the crowd post-match after the televised clash: "You showed the world how special this place is", it really was no exaggeration.

It was a fantastic weekend and hopefully will inspire Aston Villa to stage their own version in 2014 to raise more vital cash for Petrov's fund supporting Leukaemia charities.

Petrov's huge popularity and respect will ensure another healthy turnout of both players and fans so really you just need a time and a place to stage it which hopefully Villa can provide.

An excellent review and another reminder of how lucky we are to follow and be a part of the Celtic family.
Our history and traditions are unique and very special indeed, no matter how some would have us portrayed by tainted opinions and slanted reporting.
The most important thing to come out of this however, is how so many people in all walks of life, gave their cash/support to a special man with a special cause in a very special place.

Got a couple of thoughts on the Black fiasco. Firstly, I think it is ridiculous that a player is not allowed to have a bet on say Real v Barca because they play in Scotland. But this should not be used to cover up the issue at hand.

Lets forget the charge list and deal with the three he was 'punished' on. Black, a professional footballer, well kind of, bet on his teams to LOSE a game.Where is his pride as a pro? Where is his loyalty to his team mates, and more importantly the fans who pay his ludicrously high wages? For this he received a three match ban and a fine of around a weeks wages. So for breaking an SFA rule OVER ONE HUNDRED TIMES he gets a three match ban.The same as Neil Lennon got for saying fa**y on TV. Sneaky's reaction, after the Sandazza shambles, will be interesting.

Chick Young predictably tried to muddy the waters but the facts are he broke an SFA rule.End of story.The other comment I picked up on was from Fraser Wishart, a guy so desperate for a pair of brown brogues he is rapidly becoming a joke.But tonight he slipped up.He claimed that he and his Union reps have discussed the rules on betting with players, and more than once.Kind of makes sneaky look pretty stupid again.Did he not claim he needed clarification of the rules? Maybe he was at Greggs when Wishart came calling.

On sneaky.Will the SFA now demand he shows his infamous list of 'players and OFFICIALS' who like a bet to help the SFA discover how wide spread this is? I would think sneaky, a man it seems who likes cleansing and names to be named, would be only to glad to help.But once again the worst part of this is the SFA.

It obvious to all that they are now running scared of sevco and their threatening, marching and bullying group of daywalkers. Despite the constant and tedious pushing of the 'kicking us when we were down'agenda, it is clear that they have literally broke rules to keep a team in blue playing out of the dust bowl.Even worse is the fact that if they could not break a rule they would invent a new one.Because of this a reporter has now been threatened on the street with his wife.

Jim Spence said the words 'the old club' on radio when discussing rangers/sevco.For this he has been harrased on twitter and e-mail and now threatened with his family.All because the SFA will not come out and state that rangers died and The rangers are a new club.It is nothing short of a disgrace this is happening.Every one but the most deluded sevconian knows the facts, they are supporting a new club.

Finally.It seems sevco have announced the date of the much anticipated AGM. October 31st. Think about it.You really could not make this stuff up! green jhedi

The Scottish Parliament did some sabre rattling about sectarianism and passed laws with ambiguous and flawed enforcement with zero solution to this sickening, disabling disease.
There is a much wider and sinister issue in this country and that is 'Silent Sectarianism' which is rife in all corridors of power and influence. Where bitter and narrow minded men strive to maintain a status quo of superiority, bigotry and intolerance.
This has given the green light to propaganda, corruption and bullying at all levels without repercussion.

Funny reading on the other side, they are now portraying this tw@ as the victim of a Celtic conspiracy! You seriously cannot make this up! Lol

I note that today in the ET a journalist published a fallacy about the reason for the transfer embargo placed on the new club, i.e. that it was because of non-payment of taxes. I wonder will he be subjected to the same level of abuse as a certain Mr Spence who was attacked for telling the truth.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If your talking about the two page love in about Sneaky by Matthew Lindsay it really goes to show how pro Sevco the Scottish media really are . This guy has taken over from Darrel King as chief Sevco apologist in the Scottish media . I've never read anything so embarrasing in my life . Why doesn't he just write " I luv Ally " and be done with it . Another one to add to the ever growing long list of Sevco sympathisers . DH

Agree0 Disagree0

OP Here, meant to sign off but forgot. I'm an Irish guy living in Spain who has always follwed Celtic for footballing reasons but recently has noticed the unbelievable bias in the media toward the establishment team. By unbelievable bias I mean downright lies, regardless of the journalist surely there are editors who allow these lies to be printed to satisfy their readership. How does a guy who voices (correctly) his opinion get 400 complaints while somebody writes something that is glaringly incorrect (transfer embargo for Craig Whyte not paying taxes) get away with it? I know I'm not the first to bring this up but come on.

ED007 just catching up on all the posts from today and last night. I see you have banned that TRFC poster dreamteam.
A few of us on here had sussed him out already, more faces than big ben and any question asked got a blank response. I had already decided not to give him oxygen of reply.
The sad thing is we all on here enjoy a bit of banter and look forward to the poor sevconians coming on trying to be clever, but without fail they almost all step over the mark.
When we respond with humour, they respond with insults. Some crasser than others. Sad, really but it proves they have nothing to argue with. Anyway keep up the good work Bond as you make this site worth reading. ( was that how you had written it ED007 lol)
Timalloy {Ed007's Note - Cheers Timbo, there's no need for it, and no excuse.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well said Timaloy, couldn't have worded that better. I find myself on here most days as I enjoy the banter and decent debates with like minded fans, even reading some of the clearly made up rumours lol. Credit to the eds, especially bond for his work on the site.

Hi Ed first timer here. Just a wee thought on the issue of Season Ticket Holders being able to buy extra CL packages. Would it not be a good idea that anyone purchasing a ticket for any Celtic game should have to register with the club. This would allow the club to monitor all purchases and then the non STH that have attended so called lesser games could be given preferential treatment from those that never attend. what's everyones thoughts?

Just a wee note i'm currently working in Afghanistan and have the overseas season book, and will only be back for Milan game at home but had to purchase the 3 match package. Thought it was a bit strange but means my wee mate is getting a treat for the other 2 games. {Ed007's Note - Welcome to the site Jeffers. The whole ticket allocation at CFC is seriously flawed IMO. It has been the same for years.}

So Black gets a 10 match ban 7 suspended and a 7grand fine for breaking every rule the SFA lay down for illegal match betting . So he's banned for 3 games . The same as NL for calling a player a fa@@y . The same as Gunning for a swipe at our CH . And they say the system is against them . DH

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah joe bhoy I know exactly what article you are talking about. It really riled me. Especially as there was no option to comment. The article was based on a handful of tweets from people watching the game(re the booing) and hardly any of those where that insulting in the first place! The guy has gone out with all intentions of giving us a bad name with no come back.
I always try not to form my opinions on a set of fans based on one person, but there seems to be more and more Geordies that hate us for some reason.
Bowbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't fall for any of that. the few with that agenda are all connected to the bnp etc. just trying to stir it up, the vast majority of newcastle fans don't think like that. anybody can make themselves look like a crowd on the internet, its all b0llox. very sad people who suffered the abuse of instilled hatred during their childhood and now have no life as a result. we all know there is an element of evangelical hate spreaders around and we all know where they come from. no need to be giving abuse on here chaps. {Ed007's Note - I was unfortunate enough to travel down for Peter Beardsley's testimonial and it was one of the worst trips I have had as a CFC fan. I have no time for the football team, the city and the majority of it's inhabitants, it is a truly God awful place in general.}

Didnt realise that gretna played in england from 1947 and then accepted into scottish league in 2002, what a joke our footballing country is, accepting crap english teams into our football, what would have happened if a russiam billionaire had it ught gretna and they went on to be champs of scotland, we'd never here the end of it. Now stop acting like little people and let us in the english lower div and well work our way up to winning it all, its only natural as we are the greatest club on planet earth, we'd be on an even keel moneywise, ., .kbarry

Britains 1st {Ed007's Note - The rules have changed mate, same as the Welsh teams playing in England. Until the rules change it isn't going to happen. I'd rather see a European league being formed than go begging to England and Sly TV.
Each club (or would it be the company???) negotiating their own TV deals and media rights, it would mean the bigger, more popular clubs get the most income. It's not our fault we are one of the biggest, most famous, respected and well supported clubs in the world, it's about time our income reflected that.
CelticTV, £10 a month or if you are a ST holder £100 a year, for every game live. The ST holders save 20 a year and see every away game, it wouldn't affect crowds, 99% of away games are live anyway. You would see the money rolling in. This is FIFA/UEFAs nightmare scenario over the FFFP regs, a breakaway Euro Super League.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I heard a podcast from a yank about a year ago talking about a euro league it may even been on the radio or something. It sounds far fetched but the way he worked it out it was certainly doable. Airline companies would offer lower rates like £50 return to ie Amsterdam round trip. Can't remember the total figures but I hope it happens but FIFA being as they are it won't happen/allow it.

Lenny

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope this break away league happens for I don't see us being allowed in epl for many a years, or maybe a threat to join the new league would get us an invite to epl for they know how big we are. We need to start makin the big bucks like all other big clubs and would like to go to a new league, just hope that uefa would give that league 5 teams to join cl like in epl.
I truley believe that the board are trying to get something done be that epl or the new league and I think we are preparing for it and maybe saving some money that we made this past 2 years so we can have a real go at it. While others complain about signings I like to think we are banking the money for something special ie big players if we break away. Ed what do you think, are the board trying to join a new league or any update about a new league? What's your thoughts? {Ed007's Note - First off, as it stands the clubs in the breakaway league wouldn't be eligible to play in the CL, it's UEFA/FIFA's financial constraints they are planning to breaking away from.
If any major club falls foul of FFFP regs it will be interesting to see what, if any, punishment is handed down. The clubs know that without them the CL would become pointless and they are looking at the money that is made off the back of tournaments they participate in. That is money that clubs negotiating their own TV and sponsorship deals could be receiving.
Every year at the CL draw the European 'super-power' clubs hold a meeting to discuss certain aspects of the game, CFC as yet have have not been invited into these talks.
Obviously the board would welcome any invitation regarding moving to a more financially lucrative league but as of now there aren't any serious plans from anyone to form a breakaway league, although a European Super League is inevitable in the future.}

Agree0 Disagree0

If this Euro super league was to happen, would we even get in? We are a massive club but would this be seen by the other chairmen? I would hope the chairmen of Barcelona, Real Madrid and even Milan to champion our cause after experiencing our CP European nights and our huge travelling support, but I wouldn't expect any help from any English club or other Euro clubs who are in the same predicament than us, big teams too big for their home league.
As for FIFA, can't see it ever happening until they get rid of the old boys network. We're stuck with the SPFL for now.

Agree0 Disagree0

There are no other clubs on the planet that are being smothered by their league the way we are being smothered

called ssb tonite and when asked what my question was I wanted to ask the panel if the winning goal for Scotland last night was legitimate as the free kick was taken from 3 yards back from where the actual foul was committed and was informed that someone would call me back needless to say never received the call. It was just a point that when Anthony stokes scored at tannadice Guidi etc stated he was cute and gained advantage ref never noticed even fat Derek who claims he never seen the incident but said it was never a foul typical msm {Ed007's Note - There is no way on God's green earth you are a CFC supporter. If you are, you really need to get out more or try watching some porn. Put the oxygen tank of Blackthorn and step away from the bottle.....
1.) Why are you listening to Radio Snyde, another fan that listens to it to see what they can moan about? Stop listening to it if you don't like it.
2.) Why are you even phoning them?
3.) Why are you watching a Scotland game?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I was attempting to prove that their biased reporting that tony stokes had infringed the rules yet no mention when shaun Maloney done the same but it was ok that was the point

Agree0 Disagree0

OP, I kinda get what you are saying although I did not watch the Scotland match, there was a stewards enquiry debate by Neil McCann and SLY guy about Stokes 'cheating' at Tannadyce.
Their ever-slanted reporting counts for heehaw - both goals were legit end-of.
