What is happening with Kouassi? Lot of cash for a fringe player who can't get a game when season is won and Broony out.

He's only a kid in a new country and new environment remember big Vic when he first came. These things take time.

It's strange one I know, wanyama took a while to settle also and considering he came straight off the back of a full Russian season he is maybe being held back until he has a full preseason or we has signed a dud.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 May 2017 07:46:39
Give him time everyone always thinks we have a dud. BUT Some of our best players to date didn't come around till later in there Celtic careers. The back room staff and Brendan are both happy with his progress.

Agree2 Disagree0

13 May 2017 09:30:41
Pretty sure BR said when he signed it was for next season, Getting him in early allows him to get familiar with the club, team mates, training methods, different culture etc. Better that than buying him in the summer and expecting him to to hit the ground running.

Plenty players over the years have taken time to settle, Paul Elliot took a season and he went on to become an amazing CB for us.

13 May 2017 15:09:14
Sorry bhoys i think he is one that won't make it. Not seen a lot from him but over the very short time he has been on i can't see anything about him that says he is a player.

13 May 2017 15:10:26
It's a positive thing as.

13 May 2017 20:55:57
A person needs to be one hell of a judge if they can decide without seeing a lot of the youngster, that he won't make it.

Agree0 Disagree1

14 May 2017 12:32:56
they must have seen something in the guy to pay 3m for him, he looks quite thin for a midfield enforcer type, so maybe he is just being given time by rodgers to bulk up a bit for the scottish game, even tierney has been doing extra weights this season to bulk up.

Good to see so many empty seats at Aberdeen after they get a 50/ 50 split with us for the final.

As we draw near the end of the season, I am sure most of us are happy with our success and a reasonable rememberance to the wonderful 1967 Lisbon Lions . Every good team needs a good manager and despite or two concerns about the whiteness of his teeth, Brendan Rodgers has had a major positive influence over almost everything to do with Celtic . Like Stein and MO'N he has fantastic well placed self confidence . This means he does what he can do well, and delegates and employs others ( if necessary) to do the things he isn't strongest at .
Man management is one of his strengths and he has improved beyond recognition many of the players he inherited . Brendan also has an eye for outstanding talent and proved when buying Sinclair and Dembele that rare talent can be picked up for just peanuts .
The future is green and white and no doubt Brendan will keep everyone firmly on the ground and hopefully finish this season a treble, we will move seamlessly to and through Champions League qualification.

Excellent post! We should have nothing to fear in next season's CL qualifiers with the team as strong and confident as they are.

12 May 2017 18:59:43
Good to read you posting again old Bhoy, Brendan has done a magnificent job but compared to aindohs favourite Ronny, Brendan has had much more say with pl focussing on what he does best n we r signing a better quality player. I expect big things from Brendan n i fully believe he will deliver season after season of success with progress at champions league level.
Aindoh get over Ronny mate, not everything has to be compared against him.
Here we go 10 in a row.

12 May 2017 19:02:07
Its hard to imagine, some of our fans wanted Moyes .
He would have given some of the SMSM reporters a slap within a month .

No doubt we are a super well coached team with every player doing their best every time they go out to play, but getting through the Qualifliers and Play-off for Champions League is not a given . We can take no chances and it is a dangerous road, long travel, pre- season searing heat, problems .
However I think we will get through.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 May 2017 19:39:51
We "should" have enough to get through considering we made it this season with the team playing not even half as good as they are now. That was before Armstrong, McGregor, Jozo, Brown and Dembele had reached some of the form they have. And we may well strengthen further before them too.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2017 21:07:17
I am well over him, Bigshaw, I was just comparing how Oldbhoy would disagree and slaughter me for my criticism of Ronnie, and now we are in harmony of opinion about Brendan season, although in another post I see him blaming the supporters for Stefan's departure, whereas I think it was Ronnie's failure of man management, playing Stefan when his form was bad, or when he was injured, and that in turn affected his confidence, and that became a cycle, the more Ronnie played him, the lower his confidence got and the worse his performances became, instead of giving a rest in the development team and a chance to get his form back.

Tell you what i would have loved to have seen what BR would have used his energy for.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I've said the same a few times, GJ and Rodgers wanted him to stay too. I think Johansen would have really excelled in Rodgers' playing system.}

12 May 2017 15:01:46
Some of our stupid and impatient fans encouraged Stefan to leave . Having won player of year, he started next season playing with an injury to help team . The loudmouths gave him he'll and quite rightly he made up his mind to leave . Celtic lost potentially a very good midfielder .
It's not that easy to sign players of his ability& as supporters we should have duty to encourage and help to build their confidence.

Agree2 Disagree2

12 May 2017 16:33:55
Agree with that OMC. Last season a section of our support could not wait to start on certain players backs. I think the guy would have been a sensation in the pressing from high up role.

Agree2 Disagree1

12 May 2017 18:16:41
The Metro is notorious for nonsense. It is literally a training ground for would be journos, just count the retractions from crap stories! I agree that Johansson would have been a force in this team.

13 May 2017 02:37:38
No point playing hide and seek. I wanted him gone. His form had dropped. For me he was one of the worst players on the park in some games. Put it down to injury or bad management but he wasn't delivering. Better players than him have moved around clubs and it hasn't worked. Even if he had been given pass marks for his last season with no fan unrest I think he would of moved anyway. The only thing I wish we had got out of it was more dough. Good busy player but not exceptional in any area apart from work rate. 🤔.

Was just going over the morning sports info online and came across an article in the Daily Record: Juve can join Celtic in exclusive European club: They can lift every trophy available if they beat Real in the CL and win their equivalent of our Scottish Cup
It goes on to say the Celtic of course were the 1st team EVER to do so .
That would be May 1967 . God bless big Jock and the Lisbon Lyons HH.
