What's everyone's take on the accounts that have been released? Wasn't expecting that we would have made that amount after not reaching cl.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

12 Feb 2019 20:41:13
Basically we would have lost money if we hadn't sold dembele.

Agree3 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 20:48:12
A club run well Servco take head.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 23:12:48
I am a Lawwell fan.
We done enough when sevco were not in the league.
We have done enough with sevco in the league.
Pedro has a 10 in a row plan.
If a sugar daddy comes in to try and stop us, at least we have a nice we sum of money to make sure our dreams become a reality.

Agree2 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 23:57:23
Will be sold as a success story but really if we acted in the summer transfer window the way we did in January

We would be in CL groups and earned £40 mil

We lost £40 mil as we were too scared to spend

As a result we sold Dembele to compensate.

Agree3 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 07:12:02
We did not sell dembele to compensate. He was sold because he wanted away and was causing trouble.

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 07:44:34
The numbers don't lie. We have extended ourselves as far as possible. We'll need to shed considerable amounts of payroll before we can invest again in players. From a business point of view the club is being managed diligently. Unfortunately football is a dribbling basket case of a sport that laughs maniacally in the face of reason.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 08:08:27
As Kev pointed out we would have lost money if we hadn’t sold Dembele. Not a huge amount amidst the profits that we’ve made in recent years but it may be a warning that we need to reduce costs as CL qualification is becoming more difficult every year and we’ll probably be excluded from it soon.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 11:54:57
Nonsense. We need to increase the quality of the squad and earn £40 mil from the group stages

If we done so we would have closer to £60mil in bank.

Decreasing cost = decreasing quality which will only see us losing out on qualification regularly and literally losing us hundreds of millions over the years.

Qualification isn't getting harder either we go in the champions route and we lost to AEK who are garbage.

We had Hendry at the back cos we went cheap as oppose to getting proper players in.

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 16:12:58
We had Hendry at the back because boyata went on strike. You seem to forget a few facts when you start your board bashing telsa.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 17:36:28
Kev, he only posts controversial statements to get a reaction. Don’t rise to the bait.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 18:14:04
Nothing controversial about it. If we spend less our quality will go down. That's just a fact.

We needed CBs last summer nevermind this one. Boyata isn't even good enough anyway in my opinion.

The board should have been recruiting better than Boyata and Instead went for hendry

We actually have a better revenue recently than Valencia. Yet look at their side compared to ours and the wages we pay.

We undercut ourselves.

You people trying to be overly positive about Celtic are doing more damage than good

You think you are defending the club but actually you are justifying the downsizing of a large club into a pub team.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 21:27:15
Reducing costs by punting Allan koassi benyu comper de vries and a few others wouldn't even impact the quality of the team
Our ideal squad size should be about 22 with players like biton McGregor Christie lustig capable of playing a few positions.
Even with out horrendous injury list this season the players mentioned n3ver got a look in koassi excluded.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 22:24:18
Yes get rid of the deadwood but we also need to add quality.

As much as it would be amazing to never spend it's football and to get results you need to.

To get champions League qualification regularly we will need to spend.

If fans are happy to not be at that level (despite it being more than achieveable) then fair enough

But I don't see the point in aiming for lower than our potential.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 23:08:43
So is that lawell on track for another £1m bonus this year again. We will fall even further behind the European team by not investing in the actual football team, the talk of hotels and and I personally would prefer a quality football team than £40m in the bank.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2019 00:36:21
We would have been close to breaking even if we had not sold Dembele. Our club operate within their means and don't over extend themselves.

As was pointed out we did not need to sell him and he was only sold as he forced through a move himself and we didn't want to keep an unhappy player.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Feb 2019 01:49:03
Rodgers at work. If we qualify for the UCL then we will be way ahead of breaking even.

So why do we sign guys like Hendry who won't get us there?

We only got Burke and Weah in a panic as our injuries became ridiculous

Why not make these moves in summer or similar moves? Then get £40 mil from the champions League?

In the champions route we should be blowing away teams given our revenue.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2019 16:49:15
Tesla, the only person posting nonsense is yourself . Spending money may help to get success but spending money doesn't guarantee success . It may help you to find fault with Board but doesn't guarantee success in the pitch.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 18:29:25
GRRR silly Valencian administrative guy doing his job properly.
Valencia were going to play their new defender Roncaglia at Celtic Park on Thursday, until the official checked with UEFA and found the player had a 3 match ban still unserved from 2 years ago.
If he had played, regardless of the result for us good or bad, Celtic would have qualified thanks to the now infamous "Legia Warsaw clause" when they fielded an ineligible against us.
I say sack that official lol.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

12 Feb 2019 20:38:05
If only the SFA were as consistent at applying their rules when teams fielded ineligible players.

Agree2 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 22:58:35
Wouldn't have guaranteed qualification would it?
Would it not just be a 3-0 awarded to us?

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 23:58:45
We would have been given a 3-0 victory Tim, which by our previous away form still wouldn't guarantee progression.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 00:30:33
I'd take 3-0 on Thursday though it'll just have to be Burke and Weah banging them in and not UEFA!

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 13:03:47
What would've happened if he had played and we won the match 4-0 lol?

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 17:37:37
I would expect to be awarded a 7-0 victory in that instance.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Feb 2019 00:37:17
Imagine all the 3-0 losses Rangers should have had for fielding ineligible players for over a decade.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 14:11:24
Do you know what happened with regards to our statement about Beaton's performance in last Celtic v Rangers match.

I'm assuming that there is nothing to see here Timmy and it has been brushed under the carpet.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

12 Feb 2019 16:08:41
They had a summit.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The same as Rab C Nesbitt had?}

12 Feb 2019 16:26:14
Probably a roll over by Celtic As Beaton did not get demoted. I just can't understand why we just except all the crap that comes from the SFA and not demand action like the Servco board would have done.

Agree2 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 17:01:23
Was it a roll and summit?

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 17:06:23
The last thing I would want from my Celtic club, is for it to become so vulgar and behave like the low life club from Govan .
I thought we may have had some success as the thug Morellos got 3 match ban and McGregor offered two match ban . Both were long over due but at least last wk, they got what they deserved .
Also for maybe the first time this season the referee in our game on Sunday was not clearly biased against us .
Now maybe we have had tiny steps as a result of Celtic's quiet diplomacy, but I would have been happy if they hadn't appointed Madden to referee our game on Sunday . I doubt that no matter how hard he tries he couldn't be impartial and to be honest I have no reason to believe he will try .
I just hope last week's Compliance meeting and referee's performance were not one offs.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 17:30:26
Ed ah wear a summit! 😂👍.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I used to wear a summit and long johns during the winter when I was working on the tools. The workshop was one of those places you couldn't get a breath in the summer and there was frost on the steel in the winter.
You just know that Timalloy and Old Man Chris are simmit wearers 😉

12 Feb 2019 17:36:25
I am positive, games involving Madden, Beaton, McLean, baby Dallas and the tag team of Collum and Ross will all be the topic of conversation in the weeks to come for one reason or another.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 13:06:49
Will it be lustig rb and toijan lb on Thursday then?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

12 Feb 2019 14:13:20
Hayes? What's the update on izzy?

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 14:13:31
Or tierney for that matter.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 14:50:47
Well obviously assuming kt doesn't make it, will the gaffer trust Hayes or Izzy defensively?

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 17:12:56
Toljan and Hayes for me👍.

Agree2 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 20:41:33
I wouldn't play Tierney unless he is 100% as would prefer having him for business end of season.

Agree2 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 12:15:30
Ntcham for me has been a dissapointmet so far this season, since signing his new deal apart from the sevco game at home he's been bang average, and there's obviously a player in there although he's been unlucky with injuries let's hope he kicks on till the end of the season.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

12 Feb 2019 16:24:17
Sell him and buy Burke.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 20:37:58
That’s the ticket fellas throw him on the scrapheap just because he’s hit rough patch.
Anyone can see he has the makings of a great player.
On form he is an asset to the club.
Did you reckon Sinclair should have been punted as well?
Show some support to the young lad.

Agree2 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 20:53:16
A did say there was a player there but he needs to start playing and stay fit.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 23:00:40
Only player that hasn't had an injury and a ruff patch this season in McGregor.
Few weeks ago it was brown that should be punted now it's moved in to ntcham.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 23:02:21
Injuries are part and parcel of any elite sport, the boy has a great future.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 17:39:14
It’ll be Tierney or Benkovic they’ll be wanting to sell next.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 11:47:05
Just seen a heatmap of sinclairs goals that were not penalties this season. 13 goals within 8 yards of goal. Stats a poacher would be proud of. Great return from the man again this season.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

12 Feb 2019 11:01:08
When we signed Burke I don't remember many if any at all saying he was a good player, most were saying things like not Celtic class, not good enough, another project and a loan one at that . I wonder if those same people are now eating humble pie? Haha
His signing has been a revelation and I wonder if BR thought it would have been as good?

Once again I will tip my hat to BR I can't think of a manager that gets every signing he makes to be a success but I think he has pulled a rabbit out the hat here and another thing is he is Scottish. Even better :)

Also just reading we are being listed as 21st biggest club in the world, I know it's not anything official but is a genuine marker of our place in world football. Hats off again to the board and everyone connected with Celtic Football Club 🍀💚 A club like no other.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I think anyone who had previously seen Burke play will have been pleasantly surprised by the player that rocked up at Celtic Park last month. The Ollie Burke we're seeing is a million miles away from the headless chicken that played in Germany where even the RB Leipzig staff questioned his tactical awareness, his intelligence on the park & understanding of the game.}

12 Feb 2019 12:03:38
He was very young and raw at Leipzig and playing a very high level there for his age.

He isn't technically amazing or maybe even tactically but for our level his speed and strength just let's him bully defenders.

His control of the ball can be a bit clumsy. Can look like he's stumbling at times when running but that's part of the deal fo such a big strong guy being so quick.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 12:37:19
If we could somehow keep him and Toljan that would be massive. The disappointment is we signed 4 permanent players in window ( 2 full backs, winger and CF) and 3 loans and only the loans are good enough at present.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 14:08:34
Chinks we signed the 3 loan players because they were fit and ready to go into first team immediately and influence this season. They certainly have come out flying .
Bayo hasn't played for about 10 weeks and it will be probably another month until we get the real benefit of him . The two Americans are very much project players and we may never see both of them play for first team, but we haven't broke the bank signing them . Finally the fourth full time signing only comes to us in April and could be very useful to us next season .
Our January window was excellent, in short term and medium term.

Agree2 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 14:21:32
Royjac you were probably saying the same yourself, in fact I'm sure you were one of the ones moaning about 6 month loan signings.

His time at Leipzig and WBA he was played out of position, so it's no wonder he had a flat spot in his career.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 15:01:46
Philtim I actually said at first I would reserve judgment until they had played but also said that I recognised they would be good for the club even if it meant giving the likes of Sinky and Forrest a bit of competition.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 19:11:51
I’m working in Nottingham just now local pub all forest fans they can’t believe he’s same player I’m banging in about to them.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Feb 2019 17:41:19
Royjac, that’s another point that I’ve tried to make on here several times. Even if players don’t play, they can contribute just by pushing the first team players to higher levels.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 10:13:27
I have to say i have been very happy with bain in goal. I know gordon has done grest for us but just think bain's distribution is so much better than gordons.
He has ball for no more than 5 seconds and its thrown or kicked right to a celtic players foot.
How many time has gordon kicked it right out the park .
GOt to take my hat off to rodgers for making this desicion as it makes our defence look so much more reliable.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

12 Feb 2019 12:12:41
He's doing well but Thurs is the acid test fingers crossed there's no Gordon like errors on a big euro night.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 14:10:06
Why all the positivity?
Why seek out errors where there should be none.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 15:35:43
Aye in a perfect world but then who would have thought Gordon would throw the ball to the Salzburg striker like a school boy.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 22:27:48
Aye in a perfect world all negative people would be aborted .
Better goalkeepers than Gordon have had the misfortune to make a blunder, but usually supporters try to help keeper to overcome his bad luck.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 00:58:16
I know it doesn't always work that way but for the sake of debate if we had to sell a player to keep Olly Burke who would you choose.
I would go for Ntcham.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

12 Feb 2019 07:09:34
Ntcham or rogic.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 07:46:45
I think we will sell Ntcham, he is surplus to requirements in my view. Not consistent enough. If Porto or anyone else comes in with silly money we should take it. Out of all the loans Burke looks like the only one we could have a chance of signing permamently and we should try to sign him as he has been outstanding. I felt it was a strange signing at first but what a signing he has turned out to be already👍.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 09:19:57
He’s hardly surplus to requirement. A fit and firing Ntcham is one of the best players at this club.

Agree3 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 09:58:51
Will Ntcham start if everyone is fit?

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 10:44:01
I wouldn't sell any of our best players, we want to be building a squad and not selling off our assets. I do agree Ntcham has been off the boil lately, but remember he has signed an extended contract and there will be games where his ability will be required. Maybe when he has 2 years left to go we could offload but not before. Just my opinion like 💚🍀 Hail Hail.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 10:46:45
Don't understand the eagerness to sell Ntcham when we've still got some of the players we have on the books. How's about we already sold Dembele and use some of that money?

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 10:48:34
Certain games ye he will. But the real mistake you made in that comment malky is saying when everyone fit.
As this season has proven we need a squad full of top talent because injuries happen. Poor form happens. We don't need inferior players read to step in if something happens. We need the same level of player to step in.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 10:56:15
Ntcham at his best is a top, top talent; unfortunately this season he has been well below par and obviously injury hasn't helped.
There was talk of him being unsettled after the Dembele transfer and possibly caused his poor form and speculation over his future.
The bottom line is - if he doesn't want to be here cash-in.
Otherwise he needs to buck-up and get back into the managers plans, as right now he has even fallen behind Bitton.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 11:31:02
Wouldn't say he's fallen behind bitton. He's not been fit.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 13:15:52
Cheeky wee swap deal would suit nicely.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 14:12:35
Anyone seeking to sell NtCham, who without doubt is one of our best players, is mad . We should only sell ant ham if and when he demands to go.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 14:12:17
It's a bit early to be speculating about this, let's see how he performs until the end of the season however based on his performances for us to date then apart from Calmac I'd let any one (just one! lol) of our players go if it meant we kept Burke on a permanent long term deal. This lad is class. His speed and strength are phenomenal.

I know he was quoted recently as saying he'd like to stay but that's only a small part of the jigsaw these days, it'll all come down to money and unfortunately if he plays a blinder for us until May some club with more cash could blow us out of the water. HH.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 14:14:17
Lads short memories Ntcham will be a massive player for us when fit when he is on his game Ntcham is an absolute baller.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 14:16:10
Malky u could have a midfield 3 of Mgregor brown Ntcham to mix it up.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 17:15:57
Brown and Ntcham in the same team = sidewards and backwards passing and slow build up.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 18:16:58
Bob The Cat, what about KT? 😨.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Feb 2019 20:35:07
Think you hit the nail on the head there OAB because it looks like his heart and mind are somewhere other than Celtic👍.
