I am very sorry to hear about LG but it raises the question who will be our second striker, and was that the player BR flew out to see.
If you were our scouting team who if anyone can you recommend to the manager.

I know he’s had a bad time of late but I wouldn’t mind Wilfred bony . Big strong forward and would be good at holding it up, also if he can regain his form when he first joined Swansea he would be a great signing.

What about this Shankland guy at Ayr, don't know anything about him, apart from reading he has scored a lot of goals, some people score a lot of goals in the lower divisions and get lost when they move up a level, but sometimes you can tell by how the player takes the goal or works for the team that he will be ok, I knew LG would be ok, when I seen him playing for hibs, when on loan from wolves, and don't start with we shouldn't be buying anybody from the lower divisions, there is talent out there even if they don't come from some exotic place or don't have s fancy name.

I've only seen a wee clip of one of his hat tricks, he's a decent player by the way he took his goals but I've no idea if he'd do it at our level, I'm sure I read that we're one of the many clubs looking at him, it would be neglectful if we didn't at least scout him.

Buy him and loan him to Aberdeen.

If LG is expected to return then I'd be happy enough with a loan until the end of the season. There are a few EPL guys who would do a job up here and aren't getting game time. Carroll, Defoe, Iheanacho to name a few. Ideally I'd want a permanent signing but it might be worth a short term fix in order to see where the land lies with Griff come the end of the season.

Aindoh twice in the last few years we have bought the best player in that division and neither have made an impact.
The lad shankland has not long ago been let go by Aberdeen because they didn't think he was good enough.

Surely we have to set our sites higher than the Scottish championship. would anyone really fancy shankland up front v Salzburg? . know I wouldn't.

Just because he has been let go by someone else doesn't necessarily mean he won't develop into a good player, there are lots of examples from the past, whose names I can't remember at the minute, but of course, he might be at his best level just now, or he might move up to the premier and keep banging goals in, if he is s natural goalscorer, he will score at any level, including the very top of Europe.

I'd like to see us go for the striker from Red Star Belgrade think his name is Pavkov, big strong and young. If can get for a decent price will be money well spent 👌.

A goalscorer will score in most leagues given the chances but this is underwhelming news if we are looking to sign him. We need a physical striker up front as we don't have that since the moose left.

whit about that guy morelos.
Seen some comments were they are punting him as a possible £20-£30 million player.
He plays for a wee club in Glasgow which have only existed for around 6 years and are in financial difficulties so we might be able to nick him on the cheap then sell him on for a huge profit.

I have never seen him play great football but he is very highly rated by all the experts and punters in the Scottish media.
Anyone seen him play this great football?

If he's a natural goal scorer he will score at any level is a load of rubbish.
You can be a natural goal scorer at one level and not good enough to step up.
Kris Boyd for example or Hooper or Scott McDonald.
All fantastic goal scorers in Scotland but never able to regularly score outside it.

Not seen anything of the player myself, but was James Vardy not signed from a non-league team.

The boy is talented and won't cost much isn't going to be thrown on as main striker but yes still a gamble . read a bit about him some time back think it was an ex Aberdeen player said he was blessed with natural talent but never applied himself just drifted along but after moving downward again to ayr the penny finnily dropped with the boy and has started to act like a pro.

Thoughts are with Leigh Griffith's after the recently alarming news, also, anyone else struggling with their mental health, please talk to someone.

Why are fans going on about shankland. Yeah he's scored a few but not proven at higher level. Not the kind of player fans should be wanting. We want higher quality for europe. Standards have fallen!

Levien being cited by the compliance officer for his comments after the sevco game double standards as slippy announced after there draw with the ss that the refs were against sevco and had been for years but no action mmmm.

But not slippy kev it's the club Levien being charged for his comments what about what slippy said.

12 Dec 2018 19:54:19
Aye kev83 after numerous out bursts, and an official complaint . Slippy g's first comments on ref was " refs have always been against this club " or words similar . As much as a dislike levein? He had a point . Gerrard has been allowed to disrespect refs, club's and Scottish football as a whole since he arrived . If Brendan or heaven forbid Neil Lennon made those comments, the ibrox occupants would have petitions to Kim jong un demandinding war .

12 Dec 2018 20:21:52
I agree that the huns manager should have been carpeted for his comments, but that does not excuse leviens comments either, some of the crap that man has spouted the past year is shocking.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2018 21:33:23
Slippy’s comments were a lot worse than Levein’s. He said ‘more decisions will go against us as the season goes on’ and he also said ‘it’s been going on for years’. That clearly indicates a suspicion of conspiracy amongst the referees whereas Levein’s comments only made reference to that one match. I felt at the time that it was setting a dangerous precedent but this shows dreadful inconsistency. I’ve always been suspicious of bias within the governing bodies in Scottish football and, whilst I still am, I think it is regularly overshadowed by incompetence on a scale you couldn’t imagine possible.

12 Dec 2018 22:47:57
I agree coybig, but it wasn’t exactly the 1st time Levien came away with similar comments, towards and can I point out he caused a lot of hatred towards Scott brown causing open season against him.
As I stated above Gerrard should have had the book thrown at him, but doesn’t excuse the fact levien is a complete @rsehole.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2018 23:10:22
Jaj a think levein has been on the bevvy with mcleish going with both there comments recently.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2018 23:46:05
Agreed Jaj, I’m not saying Levein should get away with it, I just think there needs to be more consistency. It’s baffling how they can allow one manager to make these type of comments with impunity and then charge another for what would appear to be a lesser breach of rules.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Dec 2018 06:11:27
Did Steve Clarke not get carpeted on his first comments on refereeing decisions also? There needs to consistency across the board . And all who have questioned the refs? Have done so rightly imo. The standards this season are poor to say the least .

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Dec 2018 17:16:01
I personally don't see why managers cannot give an honest opinion on the referees. If someone is making decisions on actions which could affect my business / company or job then I would certainly want to voice my opinions. By this, I mean on specific decision. However, to generalise with comments that referees have been against the club for years (especially from someone who has only entered the arena) is bang out of order as he is implying ALL referees.
On Levvie - he is just a halfwit imo.

Read Griffiths saying he was hoping to play this month will all the fixtures.
