So Ed, seems like it'd cost north of 15 mil to keep Roberts and Edouard and that is to maintain our current squad so do you reckon we will actually build on our core players and actually strengthen.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - Yes.}

11 May 2018 23:36:36
Ed it’s been well documented this week Peter Lawwell has been in talks with PSG for the permanent transfer of Edouard. Do you know if there’s are such talks with Man City for a similar deal for Paddy. Or indeed have these talks already taken place?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - No, Roberts will return to City at the end of the season.}

12 May 2018 08:14:13
Just seen his interview on Sky Sports. Think the dream of landing Paddy permanently is over. Says he wants to play with a premiership club next season.

12 May 2018 08:23:33
Was just about to comment on that Ice Man. Fair play to him, he has his own ambitions. Good luck to him and depending how his career develops I'd welcome him back at some point. Sounds like he's enjoyed his time here. So then, let's get looking for a new wide man.

12 May 2018 08:31:30
Just saw that myself IM, would have loved Paddy signed up for 10 but i am glad he has come out and said this early as we can't have a summer like last waiting until the last minute. If we are going to go get a player to challenge Forrest for a place we need to get it done early. With Bain signed up hopefully Edouard next.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 May 2018 08:44:10
Good luck to the lad, he never really hid his desire to play there, he might return one day, am sure he'll have fond memories.

Agree2 Disagree0

12 May 2018 08:53:28
Very disappointed that he won't be back as I saw glimpses of Jinky in his trickery, ability and creativity and his presence in the squad definitely had a positive effect on Forrest.
Fortunately - in a way - we never had to rely on Roberts this season, as he had much fewer appearances, but he will still be a big loss.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 May 2018 09:27:21
He's been here over 2 seasons was never going to happen
Never really kicked on from last season due to injuries and the form of Forrest.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2018 10:04:50
May have been a different story with Roberts if Forrest hadn't kept him out of the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2018 10:33:47
Good luck to the Bhoy at least he was open and honest.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 May 2018 12:45:11
Malkybhoy I don't agree. For me Roberts always seen his future down south no matter how many games he played this season.
Truth be told if we had signed him on a permanent when he first came here he'd have probably only stayed this amount of time anyway.

just landed a season ticket, buzzing to see the demise of the latest Tim sevco manager. hopefully a new defender and a keeper and maybe even mcginn if armstrong leaves, apart from that if we kept the rest of the first team and subs im a happy man✌️🇮🇪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿.

just watching the play off tonight because of young Ralston's involvement. Made me think if you took players either let go or loaned out during Brendan's tenure. Could you field a team that could challenge for a place in the top four.

My suggestion.

Ralston Sviatchenko Mulgrew Izzy

Henderson

Morgan Johansen Allan Christie

Stokes

Scepovic

Going to be in Costa Almeria (Spain) on cup final day. Any Bhoys advise on sports bars to watch the game?

WTF is it with a thumbs down to a simple question?

Agree1 Disagree2

12 May 2018 23:51:00
Oh, now 3 thumbs down with no constructive comment supporting. Just dumb whoever it is an bothers me none other than to ask why.
Regardless and for any other Bhoys who are or intend to be in the same place.
JJ's bar is showing all Football. Met an old guy in another bar and he was wearing a " If lost and found, please return to Anfield"
He kept us right so it's JJ's for both cup finals.
Oh, and stick your thumbs down whoever you are cos I could care less.

Tim Krul out of contract next month, quite like the idea of him and Bain fighting it out for the No 1 shirt next season and beyond.

Believable0 Unbelievable6

11 May 2018 12:44:17
No sure he's any better than Gordon stan.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 May 2018 13:10:47
Good experience and at 31 could get 3 good years out of him Mally. Gordon is a good shot stopper but i am tired of watching him put us under pressure by dinking the ball over the defence and more often than not to opposing player or out of the park. Would play Bain ahead of him every day of the week.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'd play Bain over Gordon and Krul any day of the week, Stan and after only playing 3 games all season I'm hoping Krul will only move to be a No.1 and I really hope that's not going to be at Celtic.}

11 May 2018 13:33:40
So you think Bain has a good chance of being No 1 next season Ed? I'd be more than happy with that.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I don't see why not but it would be a bit of a gamble, I'd rather see a a new No.1 brought in and Bain to push him for the starting spot. With Gordon injuring his knee again he really needs to look after himself and think about his long term health this summer.}

11 May 2018 14:09:23
I'd rather someone like a Ward or Gunn to compete with Bain. I don't want any player that's happy as a number 2.

Agree0 Disagree3

11 May 2018 15:02:43
How does anyone know he is happy to be a No 2.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2018 15:11:39
I'm not sure about Bain being our no.1 to be honest. I'm hoping that there is another 'keeper coming in and Bain will be back up.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2018 15:19:41
I think we might have won a watch with Bain guys. Every interview he is coming across as real good sort who is willing to learn. His kicking is much better than gordon also.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Bain is a better all round 'keeper than Gordon so if Gordon has been seen as good enough to be No.1 for the past 4 seasons the Bain deserves a crack at it. He's still relatively young as 'keepers go as well so he will only get better imo.}

11 May 2018 15:56:09
What is Gunn like as a keeper, never seen him play. I know Scotland are trying to get him to commit to playing for them instead of England.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2018 15:24:54
Any thoughts on a new No 1 Ed.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - I'd be happy with Gunn or Ward as Kev says, Stan. Sondre Rossbach from Odds BK is another young 'keeper I really like and Lukas Hradecky from Eintracht Frankfurt and Yoan Cardinale from Nice are are out of contract this summer and would be great signings.}

11 May 2018 16:07:54
I Think that is really KRUL to say that about Gordon :-P.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2018 16:27:53
Lukáš Hrádecký is finished.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2018 16:28:30
Gunn is a very very competent keeper. I would be surprised if we got him but CL football must have an appeal. Would be very happy to see him at Parkhead. don't know anything about the other foreign keepers as mentioned by Ed but I agree we need a new number 1. I think Gordons knee injuries are going to catch up in any case. He needs a few months out not a few weeks.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2018 16:31:06
Jeezo Ed you must watch some amount of footie haha, i know about Bain and Gordon that is my limit. Krus because an old boss made me endure watching the Geordies so i do rate him although maybe he's not had the best of times this season, i think he would Krus it in Scotland. That ones just for you Jamie 😉.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2018 16:35:51
Ignore that Jamie for a second there i had it in my head he was kruz and not krul. I need to get back on the booze 😂.

{Ed007's Note - (rofl)

11 May 2018 16:47:02
Cheers Johnny let's hope you lads are right then and we can get him in. Hopefully PL can use his Man C connections to pull it off.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2018 16:50:01
Seriously how can anyone judge Bain on such few performances? Unless there are a lot of closet Dundee fans in here that watches him every week

Gordon’s distribution might be suspect but he is a far better keeper than anyone else we have including Bain and probably better than Krul.

Agree0 Disagree2

11 May 2018 17:34:18
We can't judge Bain on so few performances yet you can judge Gordon as being better based on such few performances. Hmmm.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Some people must only watch Celtic games, Stan, maybe if they watched more than just Celtic they'd know about players eh? Best not say how $hite most TRIFC players are or we might be accused of being closet The Rangers supporters!}

11 May 2018 17:29:11
Stanpetrov if we could get Gunn a good quality centre back keep Rogic and keep Edouard and Tierney a new right back and being greedy a replacement for Sinclair i would be over the moon. we could afford some decent players. Sell Moussa, Armstrong, Boyata, Allen, it would more than cover any outgoings for quality players. We also have VVD money so buying quality should not be an issue. But am I dreaming? But that's what we need.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2018 18:10:26
Johnnymac keep rogic but replace Sinclair? What you sniffing bud?

11 May 2018 19:51:15
Bain has been in Scottish football a good while and I have seen him play a number of times. He has been liked to a Celtic move as far back as Ronnies 1st season.
He has always looked a decent goalie to me and in the time he's been here you can seen he's better and catching the ball and better with the ball at his feet than Gordon. Whether he's as good a shot stopper remains to be seen. Looks a good signing to me.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Paul Hartley - who has known Bain since their time at Aberdeen together and signed him for Alloa and Dundee - told me a few years back that Bain would one day end up at Celtic or at Ibrox. He also said that Bain was one of the hardest working 'keepers in training he'd ever seen so hopefully working with Rodgers & Stevie Woods will see him kick-on and maybe in a year or two he will be better equipped to be our No.1.
Like a lot of of our squad I think Bain would be more than capable of helping us dominate the Scottish and who could become CL/EL level players for us. One thing's for sure, at only 26 Bain's best years are definitely in front of him and hopefully us.}

11 May 2018 21:03:03
Kev83 I would replace Sinclair. Had great first season. Has looked miles off the pace since turn of the year and shows little sign of getting back to form. Would keep Rogic all day long. Do you think Sinclair is a better bet than Rogic? You must be mad.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - You're writing off our top scorer and want to sell him because he hasn't been great since the turn of the year yet Sinclair's stats for the season blows Rogic's right out the water in every department, more mins played, more goals and more assists and btw Rogic has made 13 appearances out of a possible 22 games since the turn of the year and showing no sign of ever being consistently fit never mind just in the second half of this season.
So yes, Sinclair is a far better bet than Rogic, especially if it's staying fit and being reliable that we're betting on, if we're going on scoring or assisting Sinclair is still the better bet.}

11 May 2018 22:44:01
Bang on ed
Johnnymac rogic is a lovely footballer but he is really one of our least effective attacking player. He scores the odd beauty and it hide that fact.
Sinclair has score more goals in TWO seasons than Rogic in SIX.
Sinclair also has more assists in that time.
In those extra four season rogic has only played about 20 more games.
Sinclair is by far the more dangerous and effective player out of the two.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'd have McGregor starting over Rogic and Rogic coming off the bench, if he's can't play 90 mins keep him for later on when the opposition are tiring and there's more space for him to use and expose.}

11 May 2018 23:44:26
I like both Bain and Gordon and find it difficult to decide which is best . I have to say that because Gordon has played 200 games with 100 clean sheets in a little over 3& a half seasons . Those are marvellous figures especially when u consider Celtic are an attacking team and according to most fans have had bomb scare defenders in Ambrose and Boyata and Lustig eithe a sick note or finished .
I don't think Bain can match those statistics playing behind defensive teams providing him good cover .
I think Celtic out field players are not quick enough and maybe not getting enough men into position to receive the ball from the goalie . I noticed several times on Wed night Celtic had 3 men along 18 yd line and Killie had 3 up marking them . When BR was at L'pool he tried 5 / 6 back as he said someone should be free . Getting the ball away quickly and accurately could have been the way to break through the firemen.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2018 00:50:21
Rd and Kev understand where you are coming from. i think Sinclair has gone back to the level he was before BR brought him to Celtic. Rogic for me has more chance of winning you a game. Never mind Sinclair last season. Look at him since jan 1st. No where near where he was. Why do you think he is going to improve?

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2018 02:35:17
Bain hasn't really done a lot wrong when he's been called upon and I feel more comfortable watching him in goal than I do Gordon. Gordon's distribution is awful like the worst I've ever seen from a keeper. I will never get over him kicking it out for a corner against Rangers when no one was anywhere near him and he still had the cheek to blame the defence!

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2018 09:21:00
Johnnymac even in a so called bad season Sinclaire has had a hand in winning us more games than Rogic this season and last season.
That is a fact.
He's score around double the goals rogic has scored and has more assists than Rogic this year alone.
Rogics only scored about 4 more goals than boyata.
So how do you work out that he will when you more games than Sinclair?

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2018 14:42:41
Kev even BR is playing Sinclair off the bench. He is not turning in the performances like before. I hope i am wrong but i don't see him returning to last years form.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2018 15:31:58
We all know his form has dipped but even so he has still is more dangerous effective and had a much better season than Rogic.

Can't believe the negativity in some of the comments, fair enough not reached the heights of last season, but still beat them 5-0 last week, still streaks ahead, bit of investment in the summer and gerrard won't even make Christmas on the other side HH.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Only moan about midweek is why start with Forrest Roberts and Sinclair. and not give jack aitcheson a run out in this no pressure fixture.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2018 11:36:55
Having Roberts up top with Sinclair out wide didn't make much sense to me. I'd have thought swapping them would have made more sense.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2018 16:55:36
Ryanlarsson67, Gerrard will still be there because they will have no where to go with another new manager. Everyone talking about who Gerrard may sign but he has Penna coming back on £26k a week and to terminate his contract would be £1mill. Alves the same, so £6mill plus money from players out won't go far because they don't really have anyone who will bring in good money.

Morales to China for maybe £5mill. Anywhere else £2mill. Then they need to buy so its not going anywhere. At Celtic we are looking to bring in players to add to a successful side. They need 8 or 9 changes. Completely different strategy. As you say add some quality and just push on.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 May 2018 00:13:55
We all think J Stein was very wise when he said rhat the Celtic shirt wouldn't shrink to fit any player .
That probably explains why Aitcheson wasn't picked for meaningless game.
