When Barton was trying to find a club he was putting across an image of a calmed more balanced human :) . I read a quote along the lines of "people I know have mentioned how much I've mellowed and have changed" it's not an exact quote but the just is there. Who exactly in his circles is qualified to make such a character assesment of that fandan?
Few weeks down the line he has found a new club. Return of the fud! Is anyone surprised at his comments?
If anything I bet he has had a word in his ear to spin something controversial to take focus away from them signing and linked to bo***cks players (we haven't done much yet so I'll nip it there) .
One thing that tickled me more than anything is that bartons comments are exactly the behaviour that the hat doesn't tolerate, apparently? OK, once again we see a bunch of neanderthals attaching themselves to the England team and disgracing themselves in France. Needless to say there are morons from other countries taking advantage of this competition to get together, fight, wreck the place then hide among real supporters like the cowards they are.
Now to my point.
Will the French Authorities accept the blame for what happens inside the stadium?
I ask this because.
When a bunch of cretins wear a celtic or rangers (or any other club team jersey) the football authorities hit the clubs (usually the host club ground) with fines etc.
I am sure France/ UEFA etc will blame the countries concerned. My point being.
These are NOT football supporters, they are thugs and criminals and not wanted by clubs or national associations and blaming them is a cop-out by authorities refusing to face the real problem.
If anyone who commits these crimes is registered and travelling with the club or national association then fair enough, put some blame on them.
(Human rights and soft sentences destroy any detterrent but that is another issue)

I'm shocked that any firm is trying anything over there. The French police must have greater leeway and cause for hard reply tactics than any previous euro tournament's in recent years. Hated seeing those images. Behind the scenes any of them that are arrested or picked up will regret it.

I should hope they should regret it . One thing that is consistent at either World Cup or Euroes, if there is crowd trouble within the stadium or in the city English fans will be involved . UEFA and FIFA must ban England and let the ordinary decent fans enjoy these tournaments.

I appreciate the English connection with the issue but there are a lot of ordinary decent English supporters who have saved and spent a lot of cash to follow the team - you saying they are to suffer for the minority?
We have the undead in the SPL now, what happens when they kick-off? Ban the teams and supporters?
To me, the fact that this link is known then the authorities should be planning accordingly. Just the same as in France.
Celtic have stated they don't want that type of moron, they have banned them when caught, they have held meeting with various supporters groups. It has been fairly successful but what could happen next season?

Thought the Wales game has been best so far in terms of each team having a go and anyone of them could have won it with the chances created.
Also thought Payet was different class in a mediocre French team and West Ham are lucky to have him.

Wasn't Payet a step up in class from every once else we have seen in the tournament so far . Unfortunately there aren't many "Payets" available nowadays . In many cases I think modern coaches are so concerned with work rate they cast aside the skilled playmakers like Payet .

I'm just sick to death of seeing Celtic sign mediocre to very poor players over the past few years now. I understand the excitement surrounding the appointment of BR but unless the signing regime changes then we will still be stuck in a rut. I renewed my season ticket as usual but I better see a few quality and not quantity faces brought in!

I don't think that Celtic will make any big name signings, we can't afford the wages.
A player like Joe Allen would probably earn double at Swansea than he would here, that's the case with nearly every player in the English premier league.
I think Rodgers job will be to develop the players better than Ronny Deila did, and be better tactically.
I'm sure that Rodgers will make some signings but I'm not convinced they will be the star names that some people are expecting, I do hope though that they will be a better standard than we have been buying these past few seasons.

Wellbeck is really (like a lot of EPL players) over-rated - and that's when he's not injured.
I think we should scout Europe and Asia for talent as the prices/ wages are very inflated in England and usually the technical ability is better in places like Holland, France, Belgium, Poland etc etc
I remember we tried to form a link with Barcelona some time ago and I would like to see us do more of this to exchange young talent for mutual development.
I know we have this with Roberts from City, but European equivalents could be good marketing and business.

Don't forget that players who are free don't always come cheap. Sometimes as a result of good service a club will allow player to ru n down contract . Player may well demand as big a signing on fee as his transfer fee would have been a year previously .
Under performers are too expensive whether free or with a transfer fee .
Of course on the other hand, whether a player has been a star performer at previous club is immaterial it's how he performs at the new club is important . Maybe new club play a style of football that suits him better than before.

Would just like to say thank you on behalf of myself and my family for the very kind comments and prayers yesterday. It's all about fight now and he certainly doesn't lack that. Can't help but be positive after reading peoples comments and own experiences. Although not everyone is so lucky of course and my own fathers mother was lost to it but he will battle through it. Its funny how things go through your own head when something like this happens, I sat yesterday thinking about some of the things i said about the Celtic Board and in particular PL, and for what trying his best to keep my club alive best he could. Powell has taken to big a step down from the very lofty perch he once was at . I don't think we want him at this stage as he seems to have personnal problems within and may or may not be able to get himself to near the top.
I wish the lad well and hope things work out for him.
