iv been biting my tongue because I know it will bring out the "you must be a secvo fan brigade" but I speak my mind. am not too chuffed about the financial report turn over up 20 million 5.2 million for ki and only 7 million comes off the debt? champions league left us 14 million profit before tax and that includes the 5.2 million for ki but says the 3 home ties in the group stages put our running costs up 8 million these figures don't add up to me it doesn't cost 8 million to host 3 games no matter who you are playing

Believable5 Unbelievable7

You should have continued to bite it, you are either a bear or a fool I will let you decide which

Dannybhoy

Agree7 Disagree6

@ 1 explain then? tell me how it adds up? invested 4.2 million in the team when the only player that cost a fee was efe for 1.5 million the rest was all loan deals we made a small profit last year with no champions league money so how come theirs only 7 million left out of 25 million this year

The debt at the start of the season was 7 million we sold ki for 5. 2 so that should have reduced the debt to 1.8 million before we even kicked a ball in europe so how come we made 20 million turn over but only a further 1.6 million came off the debt

Agree3 Disagree0

Players bonus and the extra costs of the games all add to the final figure. Remember these numbers are only till December. Domestic revenue will be down as well, remarkable figures for a Scottish club with fantastic sell on potential in their squad. . . green jhedi

Agree2 Disagree1

@ 1 & 3 why do they not add up?

They are interim results, if you are that worried just wait until the summer and you will get the full certfied accounts to go over with a fine tooth comb. ~ Mrs E

Agree3 Disagree2

That should be @ OP & 2. Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree2

The point I was making is those figures are disappointing you only need to look back at post from fans ( and am sure they including both mrs e and green jhedi ) where fans are talking about money in the bank so before you start slating my post name one fan on here who honestly thought after the season we had we would still be in any debt? the flip side is if we didn't qualify for the group stages we would have been in serious trouble and that's the reality going into next season

Agree2 Disagree0

We haven't received the Champions league money yet, that will be on next years accounts will it not?

Agree2 Disagree2

It's Only half, what till it the next one it will be better and make what your looking for. Add to that the sale of players in summer, looking good for the future and that's what counts the most. We show the way for how to run a club which clubs will look at now that uefa/FIFA sent out the warning

Agree1 Disagree2

Correct me if I am wrong, 2m for foster.
400k for rogic, 1. 5 for Efe.

Lassad, miku and gershon loan deals would all have commanded some sort of fee.

So IMO the figures will be pretty close, in these tough financial times celtics business model is nothing short of amazing.

They have balanced the books and played to their exceptional potential both home and abroad.

People who shout we don't spend enough are dreaming, one team springs to my mind every time I hear this. Leeds united speculate to accumulate was their motto spend big with borrowed money. Two good seasons in the champions league with an average sqaud, they really thought they could do no wrong. But all this turned to tears when failing to qualify for Europe and eventually relegation led to the demise of the team who where tipped for greatness.

I know which I prefer for my team, continued history and existence which makes us all proud to say I support Celtic.

I was speaking to a Sevconian in work last night and I was saying to him that they should not trust him as all he has done is lied. his response was that CG is another Fergus mccann who will stick buy the club for 5 years then leave with masses of cash. so said that he will be off with masses of cash before the end of the season.

hail hail

Marco1888

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Heard this from a few unlightened residents of Sevconia. Fergus was a celtic man, Fergus ploughed his own cash in and Fergus was up front from day one. There were no stupid claims and wild statements he did what it said on the tin. . . . green jhedi

Agree8 Disagree0

Fergus cleared the debt green liquidated the club to maximize profit that alone separates the their motives

Agree4 Disagree0

Fergus paid off all the debt.
Fergus saved the club from liquidation.
Fergus saved the unbroken history and the trophies and achievements.
Fergus built a seated new stadium/ modern arena for 66,000.
Fergus established a new squad.
Fergus established a professional corporate accountable structure.
Fergus floated and found us Dermot Desmond.

Does any body else find it very irritating that when Andy walker is asked a question regarding Celtic he has to mention The rangers? And as for fat Derek, he just cannot seem to bring himself to say anything positive about Celtic. To claim Juve will "keep the ball like Barca" and that juve "have a strong back four" is laughable. No team keeps the ball like Barca and Juve always play with a back three! Unintelligent and uninformed, it's the clyde way. . . . green jhedi

Believable8 Unbelievable0

I've always said that I don't buy into most of that stuff- but DJ is another beast altogether.

I really can't stand that he is nothing more than a cheerleader for Rangers.

He can't say anything negative about them, he's already said on air that he wouldn't overly criticize McCoist as he's his friend, and he seems to know very little about modern day football.

I like most of the other pundits, and they all have informed opinions, but DJ just makes crap jokes and then big's up Rangers, or drags Rangers into anything about Celtic.

I actually find it, and him, quite embarrassing.

And this is nothing to do with my affiliation with Celtic, this is a general point.

The Patient

GJ - though it pains me tosay we'll get I fear we'll get turned over tomorrow. Though the Barca result as fantastic it was only in the group stages. As Sir Furious always says "the real game doesn't start until the knock out stages". Barca were arrogant and tried to walk the ball into the net through the middle for 90 minutes. Juve will play the ball wide and I'm concerned that Izzy will be left ball watching up the park. I hope I'm wrong but cannot see anything else but a Juve win, maybe 2-0 or 2-1. . . GBNL HH

GBNL, I've got to agree with you about Izzi he is without doubt our weak link at the back, he can't play 2moro, got to be Lustig and Matthews. I'll be amazed if Lenny goes with Izzi. . Stevie

Agree3 Disagree0

@2; don't be intimated by the name mate. Barca were cleverly forced in field by Lenny's tactics, Matthews on the left being the main example, and lost the pace of Alves. I don't see Juve playing for wide balls. I do think they might try and rattle us with a lot of ball retention early and try for an early one. I also don't see them using their three at the back as is their norm. For me, we have to be switched on from minute one. Our back three, I think Lenny will start with that, need to mark but not get sucked in to rash tackles.
This game will be decided in the midfield. Pirlo is their key. He will drop deep and must be passed on to ensure he always has a man on him, even if it's hooper. If they go 3-5-1-1 we have to be all over it in the middle. Lenny has learned wisely, he frequently changes the shape in a game, personaly I think they might shape up as 4-5-1 with one breaking. This might suit us with Sammi, if fit, holding the ball. If the big man is out wee Jamesy must run them ragged every time he gets it. Our key guys are, Broony, Forster, Hooper and Wilson. I agree with your Izzy thoughts, but he will be well warned, or maybe on the bench. My team if all fit;
Forster
Lustig Wilson Mulgrew Izzy

Matthews Brown Kayal Ledley
Sammi
Hooper
I think this might be our most flexible team and with a good bench, Watt, Commons and Forrest we can change the game any way. let's bring the thunder and see what happens!. . . green jhedi {Ed007's Note - No Wanyama GJ??}

Agree2 Disagree1

I agree, I think Juventus will go for the early goal.

You have to remember they drew 3 times in the group stages including 1 -1 against Nordsjaelland.

They are tough nuts to crack defensively, they have only conceded 16 goals over 24 games in Serie A.

I would keep Forrest for the second half, he's not played much but can still give us a good bit of pace.

@2 'only the group stages'?

~ Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

@ED007; Jeeze! Thinking too much about them. What a boob! Need to be Kayal out for Big Vic as Ledley has the nous to cover Izzy. I definitely think we will need to flexible mate, new team from me tomorrow. You think he will risk Efie? That makes it more complex! We need to be tight but break fast while keeping the back door shut. Thank feck i'm only going to shout and bawl!. . . green jhedi {Ed007's Note - I think that entire starting line-up, and the formation, could depend on Ambrose's availability.}

Agree2 Disagree0

Agree re effie ed! also think lenny has a huge dilemma about playing sammi and risking losing him for 2nd leg? or bench him tomorrow and guarentee him for turin. He scores away! to go through I think we will need to! everything else is dictated by these 2 decisions methinks. andybhoy {Ed007's Note - Spot on Andy, Samaras is another big decision NL has to make. On his game he is invaluable in Europe but if he has a 'mare we could regret it, we need everyone on the top of their game to have a chance. I'm just delighted that we have got this far, especially after the group we were in. To even be at this stage of the CL is a credit to everyone connected with the club and no matter what happens tonight, there are a lot of very, very jealous people out there who would LOVE to be in our position and will try to belittle our achievement, tonight will prove beyond doubt that CFC are the only show in town. Man City and Chelsea, for all their millions would love to be involved in the CL at this stage, it's what BIG clubs strive for.}

Agree3 Disagree0

These are the days ed! Days I worried we may not see again, The days where nothing else matters, where you can't focus or deal with anything important and tears well up at the very thought of it. The jealous people will only grow in number if the next level is reached. Its not about them though, or those who would belittle our achievement! or the pirate ship across town! its all about us ed! its all about CELTIC

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I think £400k is classed as insignificant, £130k is back pocket money. . . green jhedi

Agree2 Disagree0

The figures posted in the 6 months accounts show the importance of CL money. Last season the net debt was £ 7 million but so far the monies received 0f over £ 14 million has allowed the debt to be reduced to less than £ 1 million. If you assume that the shareholders are not getting an interin dividend does that mean that even theseghreat figures must be mirrored on a constant basis to avoid further annual trading losses to the level of last year? Goodness knows what finaicial position we'd be in if it wasn't for the CL money.

Charlie Bhoy and his wild claims. When will the deluded deady bears see through him?

Here are a few of his wild quotes.

The Rangers could have a turnover of £100 million without the help of TV revenue.
The Rangers IPO was the most successful of 12 launched in 2012.
Under his tenure The Rangers will never be in debt.
The Rangers and Dallas Cowboys link up
The Rangers strip deal with Adidas
Central Coast Mariners link up
Naismith signed for West Ham before jumping ship to Everton
All players TUPED over to New Rangers and belong to The Rangers.

So how many have come true? Please feel free to add to the list these are just a few from many.

When will they realise that he is pandering to the masses.

Some fans are starting to see through the bluster but not enough apparently. I suppose it would be fair to say you can see their point, admin, liquidation and post agent Whyte, along comes a guy who seems genuine. No bull**it, just get the club on an even keel, make some money and move it on. I honestly think he now see's that With a demanding support, a poor manager and the cash flow problems in Scottish football, this might be a money pit. If I were of the Rangersnian persuasion I would want to know; A; Is the IPO cash in the TRADING account of the The rangers. B; Why the delay in announcing the kit and advertising sponsors and C; why does every story he tells seem to be rubbished so easily. I think the decent fans deserve at least this. . . green jhedi

Just been checking out the responses to juve using Murray park, still no name change yet chuckie?, and I got to say it does not bother me one bit. What it does is reinforce my belief that chuckie knows Celtic could well be moving into a different world from Rangers. From offering Juve training facilities, I assume for a fee, to trawling around the world playing to a gullible audience this guy is shameless in his pursuit of cash.
From renaming the stadium to selling advertising space on the roof of Murray park, Still no name change chuckie? just checking as you have a different story every five minutes, through the Adidas and Dallas Cowboys nonsense he is quite obviously out of his depth. If I were a fan of Rangers I think I might find this a bit embarrassing. He is blatantly attempting to hang on to our coat tails, publicity wise, and now looks foolish.
Rangers fans are getting sick of the baiting from other fans, we see planty on here, but can they not see green is the biggest embarrassment they have. With "chemical jabba" manning the barricades at home green wanders the world distorting facts and waving the orange bucket at audiences of peepul who don't seem to have a proper question to ask. If ever a put down came back to haunt any one, tenner for every fiver, this is one of the best. But as ally said famously, "i can't say i'm not enjoying it", my sentiment exactly. . . green jhedi

Believable8 Unbelievable1

One of our biggest games in a long time possibly longer (I'm not as old as some on here ha ha) and Chuckie sees fit to invite Juve to use their training facilities, which could be all fair and well depending on the fixture. . Just so happens its the Hoops. Perfect timing From the shame
He's looking for a reaction, and he's done nothin more than fuel the flames between the 2 clubs ( which was the plan + an income). The thing is I don't actually think anybody cares anymore ha ha, it's been that long since they self imploded! We've moved on, it's time The Rangers do the same, as Kris Commons would say "Juve could train in my back garden if they wanted" who cares? Believable8 Unbelievable2

A successful CVA saves the club. A failed CVA destroys the club. Rangers FC was destroyed.
But as the old club remained in SPL under D&P, Greens brand new club, never having played a game of football applied to join the SPL AND THE OLD HISTORIC RANGERS VOTED TO LET THEM IN.

Weekly Record 1 August 2019.
In an exclusive interview the manager of The, The, The, The, The Rangers Football Club speaks to the Record (formerly the daily record) about his ambitions in the newly set up Scottish Junior Premier League and how the supporters of TTTTTRFC will "enjoy the journey" of visiting places like Camelon, Auchenleck, Kilbirnie, Cambuslang, Glenbuck etc.
He also tells of his "heartache" at Liquidation for the 5th successive year, but felt "it was in the best interests of the club" as club is once again "debt free" He also recommends the latest share issue to all the fans, making it also 5 share issues in 5 years.
Ally explained, "all monies raised will help us get back to playing European football in 20 years time".
Ally also tells of his "pain" at being beaten in the 3rd division relegation playoff last season but put no blame on Mr Dallas (the son of SFA delegate Hugh Dallas) This game you will recall ended controversially with Albion Rovers only having 6 players on the field but still held on to win 6-5.
Referee Dallas ordered off 3 Rovers players, awarded the ex Ibrox club 7 penalties (5 of which were converted)and disallowed 3 other Albion goals. He also refused to allow Albion substitutes when 2 players were badly injured in tackles by TTTTTRFC player coach Ian Black, Mr Dallas also allowed 15 minutes injury time with the score at 6-5 to Albion and the home team down to only 6 players.
Ally told the Record " I thought Mr Dallas refereed the game fairly and we were just unlucky in the end"
Ally, starting the 5th of his 20 year contract, has high hopes for the new season and looks forward to ground sharing with Benburb, as you are aware Ibrox was condemned last year.

I have heard opinions over the last few years, and others might have also, that the Scottish Premier League has been a two horse race. And that now it is a one horse race. I have always argued the fact that this may be, but we are not alone. Arguing the fact with my mates who follow EPL sides, who don't quite get that all that spending still results in massive gaps between the top and the rest. I had a quick glance at the current european tables.

Celtic 18 points clear
Man you 12 points clear
Shaktar 13 points clear
Barca 12 points clear
Bayern 15 points clear

They're pretty big gaps in leagues (at least 3 of them anyway) in which everyone seems to claim fantastic competition.

If our league is a one horse race, and therefore pointless, then so are the supposed 3 best leagues in Europe.

Melb Bhoy

Believable10 Unbelievable0

Yeah and same clubs win three and four years in a row. Nothing unusual about that.

Agree5 Disagree0

Correct Melb Bhoy.
If you check out the stats on EPL-
Started in 1992-93 season. (20years) in that time the titles:
Wins Manchester United 12 titles RU 5 times
Wins Arsenal 3 RU 5 times
Wins Chelsea 3 RU 4 times
(Blackburn and Man City won the other two titles. )
Also looks likely man united will take it this season with either Man C or Chelsea RU (Spurs maybe)
So in 20 years 3 teams have dominated the EPL. I am not disputing it is an exciting league but that is down to the money invested into it.

This mornings current bun online has article: rangers postpone training to help celtic's opposition.

The whole football world knows how petty and shameful this is. How far can a new zombie club drop? How low can they crawl? Despicable, contemptuous slugs.

Doing their utmost to hurt the Scottish game. To reduce the Scottish coefficient from Celtic's success which would help all Scottish teams in Europe. SFA needs to discipline this lot.

Believable12 Unbelievable2

I don't think it a problem for them to cancel a training session anyways. I know for a fact they only train 4 times a week. 3 hard sessions and 1 light. The rest are days off. That is a fact btw.

The life of a SPL wage / 3rd division trained player must be a smug one. Or at least it would have been if they hadn't been papped out of every cup competition they entered before it even got interesting this season. What a shower right enough.
