How many players could potentially score more than 10 goals this season?
Dembele and griff already there.
Rogic Armstrong Forrest Roberts when was the last time so many players scored so freely? Hail hail 🍀.

Believable0 Unbelievable8

11 Dec 2016 23:18:05
Sinclair must have more than 10 so far, McGregor will make double figures too.

Agree0 Disagree8

12 Dec 2016 07:13:31
Can't believe I forgot about Sinclair lol🍀.

Agree0 Disagree7

12 Dec 2016 10:02:18
Stevie, I think McGregor's only got 1 or 2 so far this season but he might be lucky and get a run of games.

Agree0 Disagree7

12 Dec 2016 15:10:57
Not a major concern but our centre backs are not contributing goal this season yet.

Agree0 Disagree3

12 Dec 2016 15:40:26
Neither is Gordon old bhoy.

Agree1 Disagree4

16 Dec 2016 17:45:50
As long as Gordon doesn't concede own goals it won't be so bad . Stepbhoy, I always expect centre defenders to score up to 10 goals between them a season, many coming from set pieces.

Bhoys how good has rogic been I think player of season so far I know moussa has been outstanding but rogic for me is class apart best midfielder since lubo.

11 Dec 2016 22:34:35
He needs to have an impact in europe before i'd break out the "best" title for him. That goes for MD as well mind you.

Agree1 Disagree4

11 Dec 2016 22:35:01
Love rogic but can't agree about the best midfielder since Lubo comment.

11 Dec 2016 23:34:44
I think Nakamura would be before Rogic.

11 Dec 2016 23:45:11

Hes started doing it in Europe ran show on Tues and had great game in Germany.

Agree0 Disagree3

12 Dec 2016 09:16:16
I would say armstrong and brown have been more consistent it's good to have so many players playing so well there's around about 20 players from this year that haven't let us down when been giving the chance.

Agree0 Disagree2

12 Dec 2016 09:23:35
lubo was pure class, but Alan Thomson, Stan Petrov, Naka, Ledley, Wanyama and even Johansen - when he was player of the year - were all top performers as well.

Agree2 Disagree2

12 Dec 2016 15:13:48
Petrov for me.

Agree1 Disagree1

12 Dec 2016 15:14:16
I thought Rogic was superb in the League Cup final . Their seemed to be 2/ 3 sheep on him everytime the ball came near him and he played superbly taking defenders out of position.

11 Dec 2016 12:47:34
Curiosity question . if a player is on loan at a club for 18 month (or any length) can another club then buy him from his parent club during a transfer window.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

11 Dec 2016 15:21:16
Thanks .

Agree0 Disagree3

11 Dec 2016 22:35:14
So yes anyone can buy PR. I assume that's where the question was directed.

Agree0 Disagree1

12 Dec 2016 01:48:30
No it wasnt shug. . it came from seeing the amount of players on loan from chelsea playing around eorope who with Chelsea spending policy will probably never play for them . I also think roberts will go back to city and within a year be at a midtable epl club.

Agree0 Disagree1

12 Dec 2016 05:37:41
think you can buy a player on loan but said player still needs to complete loan, so if PR was bought in jan, we would still have him till end of season, Eds should be able to clear that up.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - no, the loan contract can be ended early and the player transferred elsewhere.}

12 Dec 2016 06:54:49
cheers Ed, has it always been that way or has rules changed?, i seem to remember the same discussions when we had guidetti?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - always been that way. It is just that there are issues with selling a player on loan, as you have to come to an agreement with the club who have a contract to loan him, as well as the buying club. It does happen, but rarely. Usually it is when a player is struggling on his loan spell, or the club loaning the player in needs money and they are offered compensation by the selling club.}

12 Dec 2016 07:22:39
Cheers Ed.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - some clubs do put a clause in the loan contract regarding a compensation package in the case of a sale during the loan. Not so sure if City are one of those though, as they had no intention of selling him when they sent him out to you on loan.}

12 Dec 2016 08:42:13
I also think it depends on what the contract is. Casting my mind back to Deila's first season, we had Guidetti on loan and I know there was something in that contract that prevented someone buying him until the loan period was finished.

Agree0 Disagree1

11 Dec 2016 01:25:51
Alright ED and Bhoys having a bevvie and watching the King do you think we will ever see a better header (if its a word) of the ball than that man Larsson or a more unselfish personn he must have had a ridiculous amount of assists. Heard someone say the other day Dembele is in same mould like old yellow they need to be taken outside and put down.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

11 Dec 2016 02:38:07
MD is a very talented young striker, but no way cut from the same cloth as Henke. Like you say with his assists, plus his vision, tactical awareness, creativity - a totally different forward to MD - who's physical ability seems to be his main strength. MD could develop in those areas, but I'd be pleasantly surprised to see a forward for Celtic as good as HL whilst on this earth.

Agree2 Disagree3

11 Dec 2016 10:33:14
MD is only 20.

Agree1 Disagree2

11 Dec 2016 10:56:30
Jimtim

As much as henrik was decent, I will NEVER forgive him for that misplaced pass at Easter road that led to chic charnly scoring the winner.

I was disgusted then and I remain utterly disgusted by that episode today

MD has yet to assist chic charnly with a goal against Celtic and I don't think he ever will unless Celtic get paired with dukla pumperston is a cup tie

For me at least that puts MD ahead of HL.

Agree0 Disagree6

11 Dec 2016 11:10:41
Wow talk about holding a grudge PW lol! Charnley still had a lot to do.

Sometimes you see MD drifting into the wide areas like Henke did, creating space, but I don't see the two as being from the same mould really.

MD could go on to be a better player TTTS, but he isn't yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Dec 2016 12:28:55
Agreed Jim Tim, too early to compare. What are the chances of him peaking at our club now given the rudeness and wealth of other clubs.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Dec 2016 12:44:02
If MD. didn't take griffiths place then you may have your answer if griffiths continues to get 30 plus goals every season and had the chance in europe well you never know. Also the wee man has some leap for the size of him and a great header of the ball.

Agree1 Disagree1

11 Dec 2016 12:45:46
Ha don't think i read that post right. : (

Agree0 Disagree2

11 Dec 2016 13:59:57
Comparing him to Henrik is a bit of a stretch as it's only his first real break through season. I would say though that he's often like an extra Centre half around corners and he seems able to pick ball up and connect in midfield pretty strongly too. He looks like he could become a total all round handful at any level but he also has a lot of expectation on his shoulders. Reckon Henrik more than made up for the hibs game like Moussa also made up for that pen miss. Seem to remember MD had a few detractors on here few months back.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Dec 2016 15:03:21
I still have nightmares about chic charnly scoring for jobs versus Celtic thus making henrik ( overall ) a dud who may have scored a barreload and may have assisted hundreds of times and may have run himself in to the ground game after game after game BUT after the charnly debacle he should have been shown the door with vidar riseth used as an ancillary forward. VR would have gone on to score more IMVHO.

Henrik is in my top three greatest players ever to play for the hoops in my time as a supporter . I'm sorry to say that I don't think we'll ever see his like again playing for Celtic .

Agree1 Disagree1

11 Dec 2016 19:32:14
People have always said we will never see another like him when one of our heroes level.
Johnstone
Dalglish
Mcstay
Larsson.
There will be others just hope I am here to see the next one.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Dec 2016 20:24:51
Different position but we may already be seeing the next great player in KT. He will be get even better hopefully with us for a while yet. HL was best player I seen in the hoops in my time, but I give great credit to Sutton. He helped HL the same way he helped Shearer. Think big sutty was undervalued but HL became the King.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Dec 2016 21:18:06
Sutton could do a shift in defence and central mid as I recall. His link up with Larson and Sutton was amazing, particularly in that Blackburn UEFA game.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2016 07:24:15
Prob get shot down here but imo sutton was the best footballer we had for yrs, could stick him anywhere and he would do a great job.

12 Dec 2016 07:57:26
Paradise clearly at the wind up.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2016 08:51:13
I would not compare the two as they are different types of player but one similarity I see is their work rate and willingness to help out in defence.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2016 15:21:24
I think Dembele is likely to be picked in most games, if he doesn't suffer injury . If for no other reason than we need his height defending set pieces. On Friday we had only two recognised headers in team& thus were under pressure defending free kicks
I think we need four at least who are strong in the air defending corners and free kicks.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Dec 2016 00:23:35
Man City have never been the same since they met us at Parkhead. I see they got well beaten by Leicester today. just saying.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

11 Dec 2016 08:21:41
TT : City are fine going forward, however thier defense is as poor as it gets for the EPL worst top 8 team for goal difference.
2 players they need FF and VVD from Southampton, that will sort it for them.

11 Dec 2016 08:47:43
Pep guardiola is a warmer some of the stuff he comes away with is gash.

11 Dec 2016 09:57:23
He's not a coach for the tackles lol wtf.

11 Dec 2016 10:22:48
Haha raid Southampton! See how they like it.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Dec 2016 10:23:56
Before city met us at Celtic Park they were being touted as champions of England AND Europe; however we certainly gave every club some pointers into how to play them and indeed score against them.
It not only gave every other club encouragement and ideas but it burst the city bubble big-time and planted big doubts.

Agree0 Disagree1

11 Dec 2016 10:38:46
Lol a read that Tick there's a few other silly things he's said still don't think he's anywhere near as good as he thinks he is.

Agree1 Disagree1

11 Dec 2016 11:55:48
I know CB it's like have you ever watched a British game of football lol.
He also had that sweeper keeper carry on, affectively he now has a keeper who can pass but isn't particularly very good at saves but let go a keeper who could do the opposite.

I've heard ed rip him a couple times on here and he could be right.

Oh and was he not involved in match fixing or doping in Italy.

Agree0 Disagree1

11 Dec 2016 17:20:45
To be honest, I think Hart is a terrible shot stopper ( as he showed in the European Championships ) and he is a terrible distributed if he happens to get the ball.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Dec 2016 17:33:40
Sweeper keeper and zonal marking not a fan of either 2 things the so called big European leagues have invented and got us nowhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Dec 2016 19:35:49
I agree oldbhoy but bravo isn't any better than Hart imo.

We did something similar with gc and de vries but at least our manager manned up and eventually put the better of the 2 in goal.

Agree1 Disagree0

12 Dec 2016 15:24:34
Modern managers seem to want goalkeeper to play the sweeper and goal keeping shot stopping roles . Most cannot do both, maybe their wee brains can't handle both.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Dec 2016 15:55:19
To be fair oldbhoy it's a lot to take in isn't it.
Save pass save pass that's 2 things.

Give me a shotstopper and gk who can command his area any day.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2016 21:12:42
Remember when we were youngsters, the big gammy boy was put into goals . Usually he had zero football ability .
Now we know why in their 20's and 30's they cannot save and pass. Far too complicated.
