Hope we do get finnbogason. Been looking at clips of him and he looks the part. Noticed if we do get him he'll be the second finnbogason at celtic. He played during the strachan era, loaned out tae queens park, broke his foot. returned to the celtic youth team, he scored 28 goals in 20 apps but nva appeared for the 1st team.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

That was Kjartan who played for Celtic, signed in 2005 along with Teddy Bjarnason. It's Alfie that Celtic are currently linked with.

Kjarten Henry Finnbogason, Teddy Bjarnasson got some game time, remember him cracking the bar and looking quite good, ., .kbarry

Just back from Dublin and the one thing that sticks in my memory ( that I care to make public! ) is the performance of Balde.

This is the first time I have seen him in the flesh and thought he looked the part. He, and Lenny for signing him, has taken loads of stick on here and I just hope people may now think twice before slating our player and manager before giving them a chance.

In my opinion both NL and PL are doing a great job with what they have and ALWAYS have Celtic at the forefront of their thoughts in everything they do.

Update on Finnbogason. There has been contact between Celtic and Heerenveen although no bid has offically been made. It's expected Heerenveen will point blank reject anything under $4.5m, so I'm worried about the clubs likelihood to put in a decent bid. Also, he's away with Iceland on national duty at the moment, so we would also struggle to sign him in time to face this Kazak mob. {Ed007's Note - He can sign any time and be registered between now and 23.00 the night before the first leg.}

Ed do you think it will be Alfie Finbog? I hope we don't feck this one up, i'm sure the guy wants to come and hope Lawell knows what he's doing and doesn't lose this guy for the sake of half a million quid. I've never been so certain about a player being a success. We got 5 million for Hooper and we should pay that plus a bit more to get this guy. Stevie {Ed007's Note - I'll be surprised if it is Finnbogason but as things stand I do expect him to become a CFC player.}

I will be disgusted if we don't pay for Finbogasson, the money we'v taken in from selling players and the Champ league, taking the piss out the fans if we don't. Also feel Griffiths would have been worth a punt for the money he's already scoring for Wolves, get Doyle ta fook he's not scored since 19canteen.

Alistair McCoist has vowed to keep the finances coming into ibrokes during any fans revolt boycotting matches. He says he will quadruple his mince pie intake at half time. His appetite for pies is so healthy he gave John Grieg £1million doubloons from his pay check from his boss Long John Green because he thought that big John was the owner of his favourite high street bakers and wanted a piece of that action asking how many shares he would get it.

Did McCoist and Smith benefit from the shameful tax avoidance EBT trust funds? Did they have a sub trust each? It would be truely remarkable if they had not. They were employed for years and years on remarkably high salaries smack bang in the middle of the EBT period. Smith received more than treble his Scotland manager salary to dump the national team and return to RFC. Was there an EBT?
Where's Scotland's investigative reporters?
The fans deserve to know.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Google the men who sold the jerseys. tv exposé. Didn't you see it first time around. There are also a few tv links showing a list of benefactors.

Agree0 Disagree0

No mention of the cardigan or the clueless one in the EBT's. probably something else that has been swept under the carpet

Agree0 Disagree0

I saw McCoists photo on the wall of shame in the men who sold the jerseys.

Nobody has asked them outright, were you on an EBT? Rumour both have injunctions issued.

The papers are reporting that Chuckles Green wants a TV debate about the problems at Rangers. The Jeremy Kyle show springs to mind. JK

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Traditionally they didn't wash their dirty laundry in public. This guy wants to wave the orange y-fronts with a hole at the balls and skid marks down the back from a flag pole in the centre circle of Ibrox. You've got to love the guy. Oh, by the way - I don't think you ever did answer ra bomber's question, whose name is on the title deeds?
Plenty of laughs left in this pantomime!

A little something besides transfer speculation.

Arguably the strongest position in our team at the moment is right back with Adam Matthews and Lustig.

Here's my question, would you play both on the right? Lustig at RB and Matthews RM. We have seen Matthews play more advanced roles in the team before and I personally think he played really well.

Sure Forrest on his day is our number 1 right mid/wing but his lack of consistency is there for all to see. I believe Matthews would give us another option on the right of midfield .

What do you all think?
A.J

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think that is a very good shout. Matthews can get forward very well and with his pace would give better defensive cover to Lustig than Forrest does.

Might be a shout for CL nights when we are expecting to be under a bit more pressure.

Agree0 Disagree0

Noy a bad shout especially in away euro games were a more rigid formation is required

Agree0 Disagree0

Think the team is definitely stronger with both in the side but I think Matthews' defensive talents would be wasted at RM. Matthews RB Lustig CH or Lustig RB Matthews LB definitely.

G93

Agree0 Disagree0

Matthews can cross an ok ball. And remember that monster of a throw in. I'd have him in the team for that alone. But the attributes he has over and above he should be first pick at RB. Lustig had a few ropy games when he first came in the team but since has been as shore footed as a mountain goat. I wish we could play both but I suspect Lenny will always pick Forrest so my plea would be Matthews ahead of lustig for the throw ins etc. remember Rory Delap was pretty pish but his throw in was like a corner (Matthews has that )

Agree0 Disagree0

I said last season that Mathews and Izzaguire were much better midfield options - but it would have to be in the 3-5-2 formation to accommodate most of our best players.
We were very successful with this formation before and I think it would work again.

Jungle Jim

Agree0 Disagree0

A.J was just saying the exact same thing to my mate walking home from the Ross County game, for me young James did nothing in that game and Lustig was playing well before being subbed for Mathews, that's when I would have tried it, couldn't believe NL saying JF had a good game.PS hows the leg ed haven't posted for a while still come on everyday though to read all the regulars ie Mrs E, GJ, and Timmaloy et al.Macca {Ed007's Note - It's nice to hear from you Macca, I am actually due another op on my ankle this week, thanks for asking.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes in a minute, Mathews can break forward and defend, Forrest, well just runs around

Two players being allowed to leave there epl clubs are rio ferdinand and john arne riise! Would you take any? Personally would love riise for left back as izaguire just doesn't cut it for me he is never a defender!

Skinnybhoy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Id bite your hands of for both. I'd bite your hand off for one. LB def

Agree0 Disagree0

If riise is available and would come I'd happily go down and pick him up myself fits a couple of requirements compitition for the left back role and a little bit of expierence maybe just the man to settle things and cqlm things down when defending set pieces is also pretty handy going forqRd as for ferdinand no thanks would be a waste of money and a squad number

Is it possible Greeny can buy more original shares with cash spived out? Just put 8million back in for huge share block his consortium will control. It serves to dilute existing shareholders power also. Using clubs own cash?

noticed this season no mention of world record crowds and sell outs at the dustbowl still unbelievable they had triallists today when they have signed wonder if the ref was a top rated official or do they just come in if the pieman is struggling

Believable0 Unbelievable0

They're now copying old RFC with the shirt badge instead of TRIFC.

There's also 5 stars. For five EBT SPL titles won during the 11 years of EBT tax evasion.

But retired judge Lord Nimmo-Smith says £47m tax evasion doesn't give you sporting advantage over honest social tax paying teams in Scottish football. How does Aberdeen, Hearts, Motherwell, Dundee Utd, Hibs, . All feel about that? HMRC are now saying its £80m.

Good to see their boycott on. Only 50% seats taken at Ibroken today. Deady bears wiseing up on their health and safety. Or is it a protest on the stolen charity game money? It's doesn't get much lower.

Liverpool fan here, just wan to say thanks to your supporters today, great occasion, especially with JFT96 chants!
