Anyone heard of kicking a man when he's down . Thats what is happening with Zaluska , this guy has held 2 clean sheets this season so far out of 2 games and had 2 really good saves at aberdeen .
The keeper has never had a proper chance . he's only really started pre-season games and like all players his sharpness is down as he's just started back training like everyone else . the only difference is when a keeper makes a mistake you lose a goal . performances will get better with games . he played well against rangers when he replaced foster for the cup replay against rangers last year. Even if everyone thinks we deserve a better keeper keep of the guys back as he is our back-up and we need him confident incase he's called apon.

Also for everyone slagging celtic of about there transfer tactics as they are just like rangers the difference is our owner has not come out and said we would have 10 million to spend the come out and say he will put another 15 million forwaqrd for players .

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Zaluska's doin alright, he was a good keeper at DUFC so he is capable, he just needs a run in the team and a chance, we should be gettin behind him instead of puttin him down, you never know he might save us a few quid. Has he made any more mistakes since he came to Celtic than any other keeper we've had. signin someone else doesn't garantee anythin,

once again the board bask in the reflected glory of the support and do nothing to repay this loyalty .people come on here and slag rangers for being skint and players knocking them back but they are actively trying to spend on recruitment while our board are going round the english leagues cap in hand asking for loan deals or refusing to pay fees which do not seem too high 1.5 -2 mil for players nl looks to have targeted , since mon took over rangers have been in financial freefall yet won same amount of titles as us. and with a fortnight of the window to go they are playing a dangerous game as thers is a desperate need for a goalie. another title could be handed to rangers , is it only us that want to win or is a 50-50 split of wins over a decade enough for the board

Believable2 Unbelievable2

neil lennon is getting seriosly fed up with the board over lack of activity. They are to have talks before saturday to thrash this out , think the board will win this argument. lennon wants keeper before next week

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Oh rite so you know Neil Lennon personally then. Shut up ya loser.

Drew

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt this guy does know NL but to be fair if I were him I'd be a bit fed up right now. The failure to agree a fee for Sandomierski is seriously concerning. Realistically it can only mean one of two things. Either he's not worh it (in which case why the hell were we after him), or more likely we cant or wont spend 2M on a keeper. I think the difference was 600K and it could cost us the league. also wondering whata goin on with a striker. Waiting till deadline day on Bellamy. Doesn't sound too wise Looks like we are totally skint oe being over prudent Paul

Board not willing to make big transfers at minute they are waiting to see how things go at start of new season and probably let a few players go in January window when mccoist will probably have the league all but wrapped up and hearts are sitting 2nd...

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Well the start of the season is going better for us than you lot so far. do you think fat sally will still have a job in january?

Ed im not havin a go but have you considered just not allowing sum of the transfer 'scoops' u get on here unless they have an actual source?

Drew {Ed001's Note - and how are we meant to know who really has a source? It is impossible for us to know everything and so we can't know all the stuff that is nonsense. I do delete a hell of a lot of the nonsense that I see and will go back through deleting posts if I check up and find it is nonsense, such as the Joe Cole stuff. Much as I wish he would go somewhere else being a Liverpool fan, I know he has not held talks with Rangers and has already rejected a couple of moves over salary.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I just mean if they posted a source then folk cud go check it out if they wanted, when theres no source its clearly just made up. Pathetic.

I know there's 3wks 2 go before the transfer deadline but the Celtic board make me sick, everytym we hav the chance 2 push on ahead of the shame they never do, we never build from strength n it's the fans who hav 2 suffer, it's a joke that we've still not got a recognised keeper with the season already started, the past 3 seasons we've handed the league 2 poor team who hav spent nufin n if the board don't get the finger out it could happen all over again, c'mon Desmond repay the fans

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Nae luck - 4 in a row here we come

Bedoya and McKay look like good players, all we need is a CB and we are looking good

and before u say oh Mckay only cost a couple of hundred k what about Izzy? Lubo etc? Players dont need to cost millions to be good

come on - we welcome the battle

Cant believe weve lost out on the polish keeper by offerring s::te money, why chase this guy for the time weve chased him and knew we woudnt get him unless we offered the asking price which was 2.2 million euros cant understand this, and yet trying to buy that big donkey fae newcastle for the same money, who is third choice for them, where is the thinking in all of this. Its total bollocks from us once again. And were slagging the mankey mob about signing targets, its a disgrace we deserve more.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

11 Aug 2011 19:16:26
It seems fairly obvious that Celtic don't have huge amounts to spend on transfer targets this season. We are having problems reducing the wage bill and raising funds by selling fringe players. I know alot of people will disagree but I think we really have to consider selling 1 of our better players, probably Brown, Kayal or Ki. The money generated could see from 6-8M generated and that would be enough for a decent keeper, midfielder and striker. I would definatly sit Kayal and Brown down and If they won't sign contracts sell them and at least get some money in. I like all the players i've mentioned but we don't seem to having much prospect of quality coming in without money.

Hi Ed, How are you? Not a rumour but just to say that I am absolutely furious that we have let the polish goalie go for what seems like £1million. Gent have had that offer accepted. We, much like Rangers and the Goodwillie saga, seem to have offered only 500, 000 up front rising to £1.6 million. That is not acceptable to the fans. The polish club want £2 million and we allegedly wanted the guy so why are we offering only 500, 000 - who cares what it will rise to. The selling club need funds to buy a new keeper so it is a total cheek. I will not be returning to Celtic Park either if we leave Zaluska in goal as we will win nothing and it is a kick in the teeth to all the fams who have supported the club through thick and thin adn especially over the last 3 seasons. Reports say we have again offered £2 million for Forster and if this is true I again will not return. Why offer £2 mill for a guy who is not that good but we cannot offer £1 million for a goalie we think so highly of. Is is because we are going for a loan deal like Alex McCarthy so we do not have to pay. Raw deal for the fans.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

11 Aug 2011 18:32:20
That's us lost out on Polish keeper to Genk who bid just over £1m, WTF is going on? I'm slaggin off the G@rs, however we appear to be offering peanuts for players too. I give up.....Miko

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Well the simple fact is the most Celtic can pay up front is 500k. Is any1 really that surprised that we dont have any money to spend considering wots happened over the last 3 seasons.

Drew

Agree0 Disagree0

I just love this, all summer us gers fans have heard is Administration, skint Gers, rangers have no money, Banks this and Banks that from Celtic fans. Now tables are turning and yous are realising that Celtic do not have cash to spend also, Yes rangers have signed some players and also lost out to few as well but both teams are not willing to or cant spend big at the moment. Celtic now starting to lose out on players also.
Lets just see by the end of the transfer window which team has the cash to spend and we will then see who is eating their words LOL

Hi ed very disappointed about the polish goalkeeper if we don't get him. We have already miss given and Westwood. Frazer foster is not the answer. In two old firm games he has made mistakes. First was a back pass that he slice and kenny miller got a goal from it and the second was the penalty and got send off. He's to slow and for a guy that is 6th 7 is crap under a high ball even the croatia goalkeeper would of been better to sign. Up front we have nobody with European experience and in the middle as well. I would like us to get Robbie keane and a big forward.

Just a quick thankyou to all the gers, regarding The charitable John Kennedy and injured Emilio. I would also like to say I hope Papac makes a speedy recovery. Pneumonia is a horrid thing and can really damage your body. No matter what your eligences, a mans life is worth more than any rivaly. Don't get me wrong, once he's back I hope he plays mince but as long as he regains his health, that's all that matters. Love not hate

We are 3/4 weeks into the season and I cannot recall a more uncertain and dithering start as far as putting a settled side in place especially the spine of the team which all managers swear by.
Hearing too much about good players leaving and not enough being done to cement the couple of quality players to settle things down.
Yes it's hard to sell the SPL but the other managers did it over the years and why are we letting McGinn and Rasmussen go and keeping the likes of Samaras and Murphy and Maloney who contribute so little.
Commons is out of position (and form) and Gary Hooper needs a goal - or a target man to feed off. I don't want to sound like a grumpy auld man but been watching The Hoops for many, many years and think we are lacking something at present.

Jinky Fan

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Commons is out of form based on what?the 2 league games hes played so far?didnt he set up stokes goal on sunday?aye, he missed a few chances himself, but when he stops creating those chances, then i, ll get concerned.give the guy a wee bit of time, and his goals will fire us to the league.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fed up with posts like this one. Gary Hooper needs a target man? Anthony Stokes has worked his ar*e off this pre-season and has a goal per game in the league, but for some reason people would gladly drop him if it suits Hooper. If Hooper doesn't score goals surely he gets left out, not Stokes so that Hooper can start scoring.

Totally agree, not a fan of Forster because his kicking isn't great, he doesn't command his area (and he's 6ft 7") and seems to be hesitant at times. Is the Polish boy any better? Don't know much of him, he seems desperate to come and I would probably take my chances on him.....Miko

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Fact is no1 knows anything about the Sandiomerski. Youtube vids cannot be used, any clown can look good on there. Thers a compilation of Sebo goals on ther for gods sake. I would like all level headed fans to come on here and tell me wot exactly the record holder for clean sheets Forster did wrong last season.

looks like we have lost out on sandomierski is this celtic board going back to the biscuit tin again absolute disgrace that the board are not able to compete with racing genk for a player

Believable3 Unbelievable2

I watched Sando in the Polish league, for me I was disappointed and he failed to impress. Maybe he is a wonderboy bit I did not see it and there are to my mind at least better available and good value goalies out there

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2011 14:34:17
Has anyone else seen what we were supposed to have bid for Sandiomerski?

1st bid of £350k
2nd bid of £500k rising to £1.2mil

...and here we are giving Rangers a hard time about their measly bids. It now looks like we have lost out on a potential Boruc-esc keeper and instead are making moves for a 6ft 7" keeper who getrs small when he jumps.

Ridiculous.

TrampsPants

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Well i dont know where you got that from but i heard that our bid fell short by £600, 000 and if the asking fee is £2m that means our 2nd bid would have been £1.4m.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's being repoted on STV website. Also, i did say "supposed to have bid", not actually bid...for i don't know that.

I'd have thought he would have signed for Genk by now but no news is good news i suppose. Maybe he's holding off for a move to us.

TrampsPants

Agree0 Disagree0

We've also got a 6' 4" centre fwd who becomes 5' 10" when he jumps ... ooh ah Samaras

Sandomierski say he would prefer to come celtic and follow arthur boruc`s footsteps. i can not understand why we would offer £2m for forster and not him.

Was it just me or did anyone else notice Commons was bursting out of his suit on Sky last night.
Hes put on a hell of a lot of weight.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

He said he worked a lot on his upper body strength in pre season so maybe its new muscle.

Agree0 Disagree0

He has said before that he has been on the weights during the summer, said he wants to get much stronger to allow him to score more. That's what he said anyways in a interview

Agree0 Disagree0

That's not muscle lol, have people seen his stomach and his chin? he's got a fat face and i'm worried about the amount of weight he seems to be putting on. Need a mobile fast player to play on the wings.

Rumour has it that FC Sion may be expelled from their league.
After the transfer ban placed on them by the Swiss FA, relationships have broken down, the Swiss FA, saying they face the real opportunity of expulsion.
If so this means Celtic will progress through to the group stages without playing a game. As per UEFA's rules.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Haha wishful thinking ya muppet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic will not progress with out a game
because if you read sky sports news greek side have been expelled they wer due to play PSG and uefa will have a replacement for them so why would it be any different for celtic

Agree0 Disagree0

Different for Celtic because hearing is after both legs of tie. So no matter who won over the 2 legs Celtic would have to progress as no time to schedule another 2 games for Celtic to play in.

50 worst signings made by
Premier League clubs since its
inception in 1992, based on the size of
transfer fee and impact made by
the player.

No 45 Georgios Samaras,
Heerenveen to Manchester City,
£6m, January 2006.
A lack of goals led to Stuart Pearces
sacking as manager and the
Greece striker was among the chief
culprits.

Will history repeat itself at Parkhead.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

I have been Samaras greatest critic however he deserves credit when due and seems to do well against quality teams. He is done no favours by the tight pitches and lack of protection by refs in Scotland. He very marginally gets the nod from me

Believable0 Unbelievable1

DON'T do it. Background music (or noise, as in those bloody criminal audio banner ads) on webpages is extremely irritating as if there's no way of turning it off via a player you need to turn the volume off the browser completely (which means I can't watch other videos with the same browser).

No mate, just not the Celtic ed who is having a well deserved break at the moment so I am covering. Sorry though, I was assuming you were referring to a goalkeeper as that was the only player I had been asked about. Think its time for paddy mccourt to get a run in the team. I know hes best out left but i think with his ability to beat defenders he could easily play on the right wing. Browns injury 2nite may keep him out for saturday so i think paddy shud get his chance.

To my mind play McCourt every week unless there is a serious tactical change required or otherwise sell the boy. Hes too skilled and will entertain even in a lower or different league. To be sitting on a bench is a real shame

Rangers performance in the Champions League group phase turned a prior year operating loss of £8.5 million into a £12.4 million operating profit - a substantial £20.9 million swing that is substantially down to their European performance.

The largest loss in 2009/10 was recorded by Celtic at £2.1 million, with their city rivals Rangers posting the largest profit at £4.1 million, largely down to the club's participation in the Champions League.

Celtic also held the league's highest wage bill at £36.5 million, in contrast to Hamilton, the side with the lowest salaries, at £1.5 million.

Attendances dropped across the board, with Celtic seeing 21 per cent drop off their average gate in 2009/10, with Aberdeen suffering the second biggest dip at 19 per cent.

You guys really need to wake up, its not just Rangers that are struggling financially, we are skint also :-(
