Rangers as we know them died. Rangers FC are dead - James Traynor

The club I gave blood, sweat and tears for is now dead - Richard Gough

I could go on so why when a guy off the Radio makes a comment about 'dead Club' last week is he the subject of vile threats from some supporters of a Club that entered Administration Feb 2012 and subsequently Liquidation in the Summer of 2012.

I think the layman still struggles with how you can simply buy the history of another Company/Club post liquidation. If Rangers fans were so confident that there has been no break in history or death of the club as they knew it then surely they would simply laugh off opinions of the contrary instead of making threats.

Charles Green's consortium merely purchased the assets and business of a dying club in a liquidation sale. He could have done anything with those assets. However the only way to make money was create a fantasy that nothing had changed.

This fantasy was created with the sole intention of funding Green's new villa next to Craig Whyte's in Monaco.

Since Liquidation, which was entirely the fault of financial mismanagement at RFC, the following have received threats:

Gary Allan QC, Raith Rovers director Eric Drysdale, former commentator Alastair Murning, Stewart Regan, at least 25 journalists (confirmed by the NUJ), Turnbull Hutton and the threat of an arson attack on Starks Park. Of course now we have the latest for simply stating obvious.

How can any fan of any Club think this is acceptable?

Mrs E they cannot argue with all your facts and your common sense is alien down Edmiston Drive.
At the weekend I was at a christening, my great nephew's (groan I AM old)
Anyway spoke to relatives of my niece in law (is that right term?) who are Sevconian and boy were they deluded. Gist of their rants were that their club had "been shafted" "everyone against them" etc. "they will be back in top league in 2 years"
Biggest laugh was when they told me they were friends with Ian Durrant "great guy, genuine person, RFC through and through" (oh well one out of three ain't bad)
Mrs E my lips are still red raw with all the biting of them I had to do, as I could not sully the wee man's christening with an argument. Also Mrs T was glowering at me whole time NOT to respond.(don't worry they drink in a pub I occasionally go to, so my verbal rebuttal will take place then)
I honestly think it is this "everyone hates us" attitude that keeps them admitting the truth which is yes they were "shafted" but by their OWN PEOPLE RANGERS THROUGH AND THROUGH.
Timalloy (Diplomat for the day)

Agree0 Disagree0

When my TRFC(IL)relatives come over and a wee hint of ranting starts, I too bite my lips and say to myself, don't go there hen, I don't want to bury them in my own living room. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Despite their shambolic demise I have to say i'm even more appreciative I don't live among them over the past 18 months or so. The venom and utter delusion they have portrayed has left me with a distinctive bad taste. In saying that in this period I am more thankful than ever that I and all my fellow celtic fans are most definitely the good side of the force so to speak
gally

Agree0 Disagree0

I honestly do not mind that there is a Club still playing at Ibrox and they play in the same colours as RFC, why not follow them.

Its this attitude of threats and 'we are hard done' by eh no! This is the reality of financial mismanagement and liquidation, that’s all. The financial mismanagement that brought RFC the likes of Laudrup and Gascoigne, not one fan has complained about the memories they have from these playing days yet when the reality of having these players in your team catches up all of a sudden you are hard done by. I don’t think so

Just get a grip and stop sending threats like a pure walloper!

Agree0 Disagree0

ONE simple question, why hold a demo saying "show liquidation the red card"?

Anyone else agree that Brown has looked world class in the last few Scotland games. He really looks like he is maturing into an inspirational leader. Hopefully he stays injury free and takes that in the CL. BROONY BROONY BROONY.martyc1888

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wee broon is world class and thankfully Celtic through and through

Rangobango

Agree0 Disagree0

Brown is world class? I hope that is a joke. Good player don't get me wrong, wish we had signed him. But World Class? That's a bit much lol.

@Dreamteam we are still awaiting your reply on questions below.
What about the charity money?
Are you like your outwardly smiling TRFC(IL) coach but nasty comments in private?
We await your answers. Timalloy

Agree0 Disagree0

Obviously there is no definition of world class but we've watched him very much hold his own against players who are generally accepted as being in that category so I think its fair to rate him as such. He is recovering from a serious hip problem and looks like he's showing his true ability now. He is coming on the big money radar though. As for him signing for rangers (IL), there was never any question of that as the sh1t had hit the fan and that quality of player was no longer in their price bracket. Murray merely made a churlish public statement saying as much but trying to make out he was suddenly Mr. 'Responsible' when in fact he was Mr. 'I do what Lloyds tell me because my scottish mates there have been rumbled and the London people are calling the shots now'.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dream team, whatta fann* you are.
Questions put to you are never answered because you don't(like all your knuckle dragging friends)know anything, you ain't go no answers, just keep throwing your we sh!tty comments in, go home back to your pissy wee lower league page, ., .kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 haha this comment from someone who thinks Barry ferguson is world class lol what a tool you are mate!

A player from the 3rd tier of scotish football playing for your national team. Shows you how bad Scotish football must be. From playing part timers to playing players like Pandev, how can you expect the level from being the same. If nicky Clark scores 30 this season should he get a call up??

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No great fan of Wallace or 3rd teir newcomers but Strachan picked a team to win and they won

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair, Lee Wallace hasn't always played at that level and is Rangers best player by a country mile.

Agree0 Disagree0

Poor clearing header for the equaliser. Did almost score at the end. Won 2-1 so right team/squad was picked.

Agree0 Disagree0

A agree Wallace is a good player, but wee go on about coming from a poor SPL and then playing champ league it's a massive jump.
How can a 3rd tier player be at international level .
If nicky Clark scores 30 goals in the 3rd should he get a Scotland call up.
Wouldn't have a problem with Wallace or any other sevconian playing for Scotland if there playing full time players

Agree0 Disagree0

It would be churlish to suggest there are no good players at Ibrox as there are. If playing at top level in Scotland I would have no problem at all with Lee Wallace playing for Scotland but his standard and all of the Rangers players will drop the longer they are not pushed to develop or are challenged in the lower leagues.

Rangobango

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I think Wallace could be playing pub football and still be a better lb than Whittaker! Only my opinion, but would be in my starting lineup

Tompo88

Agree0 Disagree0

Tompo88, are you for real?, ., .kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought Whittaker and Hutton did ok in the last 3 games. I think strachan is trying to create a first team mentality with the players and is creating competition for places hence Wallace. The team looked happy and were playing for each other, remarkable turnaround. I'm sure they would be in the mix for qualifying if the current management team had started the group. Playing 3 matches.in a short space of time against good teams has gelled them.

As far as I can see, there is little likelihood of any free agents coming. Perhaps little need too? Ideally we would have got a CB and striker and perhaps a LB in but what we have looks far from disasterous. My questions for CL would be: Where do we put Mulgrew when all fit? Does he go alongside Virgil in CB or is Ambrose beginning to be trusted, in which case, does Mulgrew start ahead of Izzy? (Main reason I ask is that I think Mulgrew is Lenny's number one pick and he will def play him (hopefully not in midfield) Midfield is another puzzler though, is Boerrigter is on left wing, does Sammy play up front (not best position) or does Derk go on right? If so does Commons play up front with Pukki. I suppose NL is likely to go with one up front but has he had any time to know his best X! before next Wednesday? Daviebhoy77

Believable0 Unbelievable0

A number of excellent points made there Daviebhoy. Be interested to see how Lenny sees the situation. Jonbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Daviebhoy - this is a very old-fashioned argument . Years ago we used to say " who is getting dropped?" whenever a new signing was mentioned . Not now, surely. We now have a Squad game - Injuries, suspensions, loss of form, change of tactics etc - all take their Toll on the resources available to the Manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

We do have many attacking options and taking into account the rigours of three domestic trophies and CL football we will need those options.
The quandary is finding a balance while stringing victories together and the reluctance to vary formations often enough to utilise the players and out - play our opponents.

Rip jock stein. He took our club as high as any club can go. You can't beat that.

@5 - The World Club Championship games against Racing Club gave the powers that be all the excuse they needed to stop Big Jock getting what he deserved. Played right into their hands and saved them from trying to dig around the dirt to manufacture an excuse. I don't know if you can do a Posthumous award but it should be addressed (did not stop the authorities chucking late medals and gongs at the 1966 World Cup squad) TinyTim

According to BBC's website, we have been fined 5,000 euros for setting off fireworks. Here's hoping that the individuals involved are being made to pay, or is it being left to the club. again

Samson

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Samson are you moaning about 5k mate we brung in nearly 30m and the crooks that run our club have pocketed it if not where is it? I hate sevco but I hate our board more, the dirty ********s have been cheating us for years.we made/make our own
legends=jinky £0 king kenny £0
Henrik cost 650,000
Lubo 300,000.
Apart from lenny, sutton and hartson maybe big joos when have the board back our club with hard cash? No effin wonder our bank balance looks good.
Sack the crooked board, I've been going for 31 years and its always been the same,, , ., .kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow you need to calm down kberry, we just spent 10 mill on players, when was the last time we did that? We have the best board in the game, you need to wake up to spending 6mill on a player isn't happening in this day an age, for you see how many clubs are in debt and threat of busting. We are building for the future and am glad with the players we are going after and getting.

Agree0 Disagree0

Your a complete tool "sack the board" why on earth would any celtic fan want the board that has us in a gr8 financial place to be sacked. Would you rather a couple of real crooks come on board and stripped us bare.
Martin

Agree0 Disagree0

Biscuit tin time again. The club is, for all intents and purposes, debt free, financially sound and prepared for the future, in the CL last 16 second time running, winning domestic trophies regulalry and our management team are being invited to the top table club meetings - I agree with OP, we should sack the board and let's get the Kellys back in and generate the excitement of wondering how long the club will survive aka sevco. Beats facing Barcelona and playing the big boys and lasts longer. Let's face it, those are just one-off games. Liquidation is for life. TinyTim

Agree0 Disagree0

Kbarry, you need to calm down. There is no mention of the word board in my original post. I was just stating that the GB(or whoever set of the fireworks) are probably going to get off scot free instead of paying for their misdemeanors. It's because of things like this that the club are rapidly losing patience with them.

@4. I never said anything about sacking the board

Samson

Agree0 Disagree0

Tinytim, what the eff are you on about? The kelly's back? The kelly's are dead and if not just about to, nobody mentioned the kellys. Fergus mccann has been and gone since the kellys waken up man. We are nothing like sevco they overspent for decades, as for us we have never ever ever ever ever overspent. MON was funded at first then had to accept signings like momo sylla, david fernandez etc etc, therefore said he had taken us as far as he could(not being backed anymore), ., .kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

Kbarry, I was being sarcastic and having a little pop at the undead as well. I was merely pointing out that CL games come and go but liquidation and all that goes with it lasts a lot longer. Def not suggesting we want to go back to those days in anyway shape or form. Just don't like to miss having a go at the minnows over the city. TinyTim

Agree0 Disagree0

Samson, I never said you mentioned the board on your original post, it was me who mentioned the board, are you getting mixed up, ., .kbarry

@Dreamteam you seem to be on here more than your other side.
You still have not answered question I asked and the question another poster asked.
To refresh your memory, do you agree with YOUR team currently playing in Scotland's 2nd lowest league, arranging charity matches, then keeping most of the money raised for themselves.
The other question put was why do you pretend to be all "sugar" on our Celtic site but post the exact opposite on your own page. Double standards? Two faced? explain. Timalloy
PS please try and answer without profanities like last time, I am a sensitive soul.

He also doesn't think we are "real and decent Celtic fans " because we question his motives on this site . He reminds me greatly in his statements of his manager . He comes over as Mr Nice Guy but always has to get his sneaky wee digs and comments in when they aren't needed . DH

Is it just me or does anyone else think that these international breaks are the most boring times in a football season?
The summer without relevant football is long enough then after a few games it all gets put on hold for a fortnight because of international football that more and more players are withdrawing from and less and less fans are interested in.
And to stick the knife in further, all the media can do is talk about England. Personally I have nothing against them and I won't be annoyed if they qualify for the World Cup finals but you'd think they were the only team playing. And the constant references to 1966 is pushing me to the brink of hating them, if only for the fact that the media can't shut up about them.
The SPFL may not be La Liga or Serie A or even the Bundesliga but I miss it so much.
Playing away to Ross County or Inverness on a cold, wet Wednesday night with a gale blowing does have a certain appeal after all.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm on the other side( no not a sevconian) I like the scotland games, yes I know we're Colin nish but I'm a proud Scotsman and love football so love watchin and going to the games with my fellow tims and zombie mates alike, but I do hate it interrupting with club business and that's all it ever seems to do either injuring our players or just disrupting our run/rest/momentum .my idea round this is probably just as bad as our goal scoring record but it'd be to only play 1 tourney (world cup)every 3 years with all teams entering into a gargantuan groups phase (10 per league play each team once lucky dip no seeding) wich would last no longer than a month then a big knock out for top 2 or 3 for another month, all leagues on hold for 2 months max only every 3 years, maybe create more excitement as internationals are not as popular anymore, god I seen a group of wee guys out playing soldiers (8-14 yo)when scotland were on the telly playing THEM.i know it was a friendly but it's the auld enemy in my day the streets would have been empty and I'm only mid 30s(good side), I know peeps just don't like inter footy but at least they wouldn't have to put up with it for long hail hail
