I Wonder if Forster, Ki, Dembele, Roberts etc, all regret leaving, after noticing the "bigger leagues" aren't all that.

They are all on bigger money so I doubt it. They aren't Scots or celtic fans at the end of the day so it's easy for one of us to make that presumption.

That's what's wrong with the world today, people care about money more than prestige. Let's face playing for Celtic you aren't going to be poor.

11 Nov 2018 09:28:39
But they aren't brought up born and bred celtic fans like you and I.

Little question for everyone, would you like to recruit Patrick Roberts and James MaClean next summer or place your faith in Micky Johnston and Lewis Morgan.

Mclean for selfish reasons . paddy ship has sailed for me but excited to see how the young bhoys progress think we’ve got a diamond in Morgan.

James from the hills of Free Derry for me! 👍☘️.

Roberts yes McLean no.

10 Nov 2018 19:13:44
James McLean has never had the chance to play for us Paddy did and chose to leave.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Nov 2018 19:30:57
Both are worth a punt. Paddy isn’t £7m + tho which City want. Would take him for £4m- £5m.

10 Nov 2018 19:37:46
Ryan Christie is a great example to Johnston and Morgan, that if you show dedication and determination to put in the work, then you can make it at the home of the Champions, playing great football in front of 60,000, winning medals and enjoying regular European competition. I honestly think there are other positions we need to improve either through injury, age and raising quality for CL games.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Nov 2018 21:27:41
As a footballer I would prefer Patrick Roberts, I know McLean would be popular because of his background but I don't honestly think he would improve us on the park.
If Roberts could show the form of 2 years ago before his injury problems, then I think he could still turn out to be a top player.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Nov 2018 21:59:51
Wouldn’t want Roberts back because he’s not committed enough and it would create problems with my campaign to get his song converted to James Forrest’s song.

We all want a team of James Mclean's.

No1 James McLean
No2 James McLean.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Nov 2018 22:48:05
McLean is no better than hayes.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Nov 2018 23:56:57
Not one Celtic fan would even mention James McLean if he wasn't an Irish Celtic fan.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's a long list, Kev but seriously, McClean would do a turn in the league for us and the $hits and giggles alone would be well worth it.

11 Nov 2018 07:44:38
No 3 James McLean
No 4 James McLean
No 5 James McLean.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Nov 2018 09:19:15
Wouldn't take either of them at this moment, we are going to need to invest elsewhere ie, going to need a right back and possibly two centre defenders and a striker over next two windows.
We have plenty talented wingers at the moment.

11 Nov 2018 10:21:42
Ed I do believe he'd make squad a bit better because he's better than Hayes but would he help us set up a level? I don't think so
Do you think it would be rubbishs and giggles or bombs, bullets or attacks in the street?

On a football point of few he wouldn't enhance the team a great deal and for money he'd cost not worth it

For his personal point of few would he put his young family through That?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - McClean would walk to Celtic Park to sign for us and he'd have the full support of his family and like Neil Lennon he wouldn't let the bigots dictate his life or stop him living the dream of playing for us.}

James Forrest deserves a song. What about:

There's a starman playing on the right
His name is James Forrest and he's dynamite
There's a starman playing on the right
He'll never play for anyone but Glasgow's green and white
He told me we're going to put on a show
We're going for 10 in a row
So here we go.

Got talking at work and thought I'd ask you guys. Once fit should Rodgers let brown straight back in the team? Personally I think not, I believe he has a role to play still but celtic are playing faster/ better football without him. Also Rodgers has been down this path before with Gerrard who was getting to the end of his career so I would hope he learns from past experience.

We played that way when he was in the team and can't see that changing.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Nov 2018 14:45:23
DO you reckon that will be calmacs long term position?
Ie a broony replacement?

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Nov 2018 16:52:46
We play that way plenty with brown in the team. The whole team was playing under par that's why we were slow but now almost everyone has clicked into gear.
But saying that I don't agree ANY player has the right to walk into 1st team if it's playing well.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Nov 2018 18:00:27
for years we haven’t performed without him what he brings to the team just being on the pitch was the catalyst for everything good we did. Now it’s a great problem to have but when he’s back we really need to go with form players one thing we haven’t had for a while is consistency bhoys who have the shirt now deserve to keep going.

As ever Celtic Park came in for much praise. RB Leipzig had taken their largest away contingent for a European match with 2,200 making their way to Glasgow. Kicker stated: “Many Leipzigers did not want to miss this experience! ” And it appears the ground’s mystique was not lost on the German press with some reports referring to the stadium as a ‘Hexenkessel’ - a witch’s cauldron.

However, Schafer in Leipziger Volkszeitung best described the experience. “Sorry, Borussia Dortmund, sorry Besiktas, but Celtic Park and the Celts top everything that RB has experienced since its inception in 2009. “The fans of the Scots live up to their reputation as the world’s best fanatics, driving their Bhoys in Green for 94 minutes to the deserved victory, celebrating every duel, profane interjections and corners. “They also celebrate themselves, their loyalty, their songs.

The history of the cult club, founded in 1888 by the Irish clergyman Brother Walfrid, looms over everything, the score is decorating accessories, the big picture more important. “Celtic season tickets are traded like gold dust and carry the inscription: “A Club Like No Other” - a club like no other. ”

A quote from the German press.

Compare that to Leckie's hatchet job in the rag he writes for. You can feel the hurt in him. Actually I enjoy knowing it hurts the fat slug so much. You can always rely on the Scottish press to promote our game.

Welshy I read it with pride in my heart and a tear in my eye.

Welshybhoy read that too brilliant for our reputation.
Happyhoppy yes leckie was spewing, he was hoping results were reversed oh dear
Also did you hear Brendan on the radio putting that fud Sutherland of the BBC down, he tried to bring the team's victory down but Rodgers replied "typical Scottish press always looking for the negative"

I read that last night welshy high praise indeed. Contrast that to ‘bull’ leckies report- “ just a load of lights”

He praised the Celtic fans for the 67 mins lights, however talk about negativity
I’m assuming you were their on thurs? What did you make of the new light set up?

I just listened to Jonathan Sutherland interview with BR. Brendan slaps him down with "Typical Scottish negativity"when it was a positive night. A wee slug hurting badly along with his person media mates.

Ive noticed that we could potentially end up with 12 points in this group and still fail to qualify. Does anyone know if this has ever happened before? O'Neills teams got 9 points twice and never qualified, which is rare. Strachan did it once with 8 points I'm sure. But to get more than 10 and not go through can't have happened often.
