I would like to see the GB working their magic again at the Spartak game when hopefully we qualify.Surely it about time CFC reward these guys and girls for the fantastic display they put on at the game on Wednesday.Maybe CFC could help with some of the costs of such displays. The GB only have to ask supporters that go the game, to contribute by having a collection of some sort before a game at Celtic Park.Lets get behind the feel good factor and ,once again, show the watching world that we truly are the best supporters in the land.
Always have been,Always will be CELTIC!!

Believable7 Unbelievable2

They deserve all the Praise that comes there way at the minute, they have been fantastic. But it will all count for absolutely nothing if they start f*king about and embarrass the club during this minutes silence tomorrow. I will be going to the game and holding my breath and have my fingers crossed. If I'm not satisfied, I will get up go and get my wee brother and leave. I will be back but it will be my way of showing what I think of it. POLITICS HAVE NO PLACE IN FOOTBALL END OF STORY. I f*ckin love Celtic through and through and neither the IRA nor people's opinions on the country's stance or actions in Afghanistan have ANYTHING to do with the club.

If they show the class and diplomacy that the club deserved then I promise I will be back on here tomorrow and I will give them the praise they will have earned. I understand that some of these people really do harbour anger regarding some of these issues and I'm not arguing any of them or agreeing with them. What I do know is that Celtic Park isn't the place to air your grievances.

It's been a fantastic week for the club, lets hope it's not marred

Hopefully I will be back on here tomorrow singing the Green Brigades praises.

I'm sure it would be hard to do for everyone would have to do it but what if the display in the barca game lasted the whole time? You put ppl in reg t-shirts with the colors in the same style and design, that way it will be showing throughout the whole game. Tuff to do but would be something special and crazy to see.
Thought about the crowd maybe doing the huddle at the same time as the players before the game? Would be cool to see. Last thought what if (say you use the tshirts again) when the fans are doing the huddle that the back of ppl has something on it that would involve the whole stadium? That would be talked about forever and around the world and really make our mark on the world. I know that green brigade come on here so maybe this is something we can do, but again would be hard and everyone would need to do thier part but I think if any fans can it is ours! Cbhoy

Just had the argument with an Irish Lad on FB, the fact is for me the poppy represents something different for me, and just because I wear one bought from my local RSL digger doesn't mean I condone everything that's ever happened. The poppy gives me a chance to say thankyou to the boys and girls and their families who NEVER CAME HOME. I buy these poppys in the hope my sons will never know war, naive maybe, but all I can do is hope.

Well said sir , lots of us have served - not for love of queen and country but for a job and our mates. Doesn't make any of us less green. HH

Agree6 Disagree0

Totally agree mate I know of 2
Celtic supporting soldiers who have lost their lives in the last couple of years fighting for the country. Lets remember
their lives with dignity.

Agree6 Disagree0

OP I hope you are right mate, what the GB done on Wednesday was superb, it brought all Celtic supporter's together the way we should be.I know a lot about Irish history and can understand how people feel BUT we are comemerating young men who gave their live's for our COUNTRY. We have got to remember a lot of Irishmen died in these conflict's. My wife lost two uncle's,so it pain's me to see some of our support being disrespectful. I would ask the GB if they can't remain silent stay away until it's done and don't ruin the great work you did on Wednesday.

I think some people may also be reacting to rangers outrageous attempts at monopolising what should be a quiet and dignified occasion. if it all were to happen again there would be just as many call up papers arriving at celtic and other clubs supporters houses as there would be for the other lot. just like there was in 1939.

Iv seen that Charles green has offered hearts 500k to seal the deal for lee Wallace.my sides are splitting at the audacity of that man!unbelievable he knows what pressure hearts are under and all he's moaned at since coming in is getting prize money for a team that is now defunct!so to offer 300k less is pure bare faced cheek.he forgets that the team he still thinks exists screwed dozens of clubs for cash!disgusting!

Believable8 Unbelievable2

At Hearts' weakest moment of intense need Green/ new Rangers tries to cheat them out of £300k.
Whilst this is going on, McCoist is shouting in the media at the same time about how he sympathises with Hearts fans and doesn't want to see them finished. Really rich that is Ally the multi millionaire.

Agree3 Disagree1

Ill be honest, it's a fly move but it could end up saving Hearts. I'm Glinty's biggest critic, the guys a f*nny but its the only useful thing the c*nt has done since he landed here. Hearts are a shower of sh*te but Scottish football needs them. This is just the facts.

Agree1 Disagree2

Rangers owe £300k in November to Hearts anyway.

Agree1 Disagree0

McCoist going on yesterday about tragedy if Hearts are lost, etc, etc,.... Nice platitudes Ally if new Rangers really care then save Hearts by paying the £800k now!

Agree1 Disagree0

Hearts are just another bunch of cheating crooks who used 'loans' for foreign players and owe HMRC £1.75m for that. So that's EBTs then the same as cheating Rangers.
There's nothing wrong with the Scottish game, there's nothing wrong with the SPL the only thing wrong with the authorities is they go easy on cheating crooks. If they've been using EBTs then they need to go to fourth tier like the shame.
Clean up this game and sort cheating clubs for good.

Agree1 Disagree1

Have you seen Wallace play?He doesn't look out of place in SFL3.Hearts should be giving us a refund , no wanting the balance paid!

Agree0 Disagree1

Interesting if true as he claimed at a Rangers meeting last week that he had already paid off all of Rangers debt to Hearts RE Wallace - it's in the minutes.

Agree1 Disagree0

Aye but he's a lying bast*rd int he. We know it, They know it and every other c*nt in Scotland, Sheffield and Yorkshire knows it. He's told more porkies than Pinnocchio and Tom Pepper put together.

Is it just me or are you lot pissing yourself at the SILENCE from that idiot SCHUSTER the Schalke manager... Aye - who do you think you think you are kidding mr schuster ha ha ha , noticed you couldn't even beat a second rate english team not even in top 4 EPL far less barca... even me as a bear was happy to see that idiot shut up... yoda rfc

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Well said mate. H.

Agree2 Disagree1

Agree with the point your making bud, to call him a fud would be to do the word fud a disservice. He's worse than that.

He isn't however Schalke manager, never has been nor has he ever played for them. His last job was Besiktas where he got the sack last year. He just sits about at home now listening to David Hasslehoff's album wearing his lederhosen taking absolute bull**** and trying to think of something controversial to say so someone, anyone might give him some attention or even bother they're arse with him. Bernd schuster go and take a flying f*ck to yourself

2-1 to the celts against your beloved Barca l

Yeah he loves barca that much he later played for and managed Real Madrid

Agree0 Disagree0

Sums the guy up really doesn't it?

He's always flapping his gums about Barca and they're beautiful game. Haven't heard him talking about Real Madrid much, wonder if that was because they sacked him.

This is my take on it. Brian Clough + Martin O'Neill + Neil Lennon = Success. Ian L

Believable3 Unbelievable0

You missed out wee Strachen. NL has stated many times he learned a lot from him.

Briggs

That is a good grounding, I forgot aboot Cloughy. Hey they might make a film aboot Lennon and McCoist one day, Early days but that wid be a cracker! The one aboot Clough and witseesname fae Leeds is brilliant. Lennon and Mcciost, that sounds like a songwriting team for Simon Cowl! Man av had too much the night! lol

@1 why not call him by his first name gordon this was always an issue i met gs on a few occassions and he used to get annoyed with fans calling him by his surname

I have been reading a few posts regarding managers and MON still seems to be held in the highest esteem whereas WGS is forgotten about.
Martin O'Neill was a good manager, not a great one. Cost us 2 leagues, put too many over the hill players on huge contracts and was given millions to bankroll the club, not to mention inherited Larsson and Petrov. Strachan came in and won 3 in a row, and took us to the last 16 of the CL twice. All of this whilst cleaning up the mess MON had left. Even when we went to Seville ultimately we won nothing that year.
WGS did not get the million to buy, Lennon, Sutton, Hartson etc. and had to cut the wage bill drastically. In my eyes a better Celtic manager than MON.

Joeshmo1888

Believable10 Unbelievable1

I agree. MON Had three titles in 5 years, Strachan 3 in four years.
Strachans overall record is better and for less money.
But it's the Irish element and the surname that piles the fondness on O'Neil.
I was afraid the same sentiment would deliver nothing but heartache with Lenny but its looking good so far.

Agree6 Disagree0

Don't understand the negativity towards Strachan, thought he did a good job at Celtic. His personality could be a little abrasive, especially when dealing with the media, but overall he did reasonably well.

Agree6 Disagree0

Stachan spent just as much as money as MON in a shorter space of time, just do a check on his transfer ins and outs, huge contracts like graveson etc. Youll be surprised at the final bill!

Agree0 Disagree8

@3. No he didn't!!
He brought wage bill down 10 fold.

Joeshmo1888

Agree6 Disagree0

Wee strachan done an amazing job at celtic no question about it but a dont think hes a better manager than martin oneil imo apart from celtic strachan never done much as a manager relegated with coventry struggled with southampton even after celtic he was atrocious at middlesborough and got the sack martin oneil took leicester 2 a cup final and won it took aston villa from an oridnry mid table team into eurpoe and brought in players who ended up selling for millions ie milner ashley young stewart downing oneil is a better manager not takin anyhin away fae strachan coz he done wot oneil couldnt n thats last 16 of the champions league tho but all entitled 2 our oppinions

gunniebhoy

Agree3 Disagree0

Mon came in against advocaat who was oldcos biggest spender he was trying to get control back of a club who was flinging money around like confetti

Agree2 Disagree0

Yes Strachan got relegated with Coventry but he kept them in the Premiership for years with no cash and a really poor team. Middlesborough was a poison chalice if ever there was one, a big club with fans who couldn't accept their club would need to be rebuilt gradually.

O'Neil spent a fortune getting Villa to europe then he spat the dummy and left when Lerner told him he wouldn't get into any more debt spending money they didn't have. Villa are only just managing to get over his spending now.

Don't get me wrong I loved O'Neil as Celtic manager amd to me he will always be a legend but once McLeish figured out that a 4-3-3 would expose the weaknesses in O'Neil's 3-5-2 he didn't have a plan B.

In my opinion Strachan was every bit as good as O'Neil and doesnt get the respect he should from a lot of Celtic fans.

Mac

Agree3 Disagree0

Agree wae ye on points ther mac n a totally respect strachan 100% the guy took us 2 the last 16 of the champions league 2 seasons in a row no 1 can ignore that just ma honest oppinion if a had 2 pick out of the 2 as a manager a would oneil totally respect wot yer sayin tho

Mac your right mate, the wee man WAS better than M.O.N. Three in a row, last sixteen twice Martin could'nt do that. This pish about the wee man not being a Celtic man. Listen to him on the telly enough said.Oh and i love M.O.N for what he brought to my team.

Non-entities?!? Try telling East Fife that. Still the only Second division team to win the Scottish Cup and League Cup winners three times. Just because Celtic have a large fan base does not give you the right to call teams over 100 years old non-entities.

Joeshmo1888

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Joeshmo Totally agree with you mate,it's not team's we should be shouting to amalgamate, why do we not shout about amalgamating the SFA,SPL,SFL.At least the wee team's are bringing something to their supporter's, All the SFA,SPL,SFL are doing is taking money out of the game, start with them first.

10 Nov 2012 08:34:20
I agree about Messi being a poor loser, also all this talk of "bigger" players at corners etc.. er why not buy bigger players yourself then.
Was also laughing at his "Celtic had 2 chances and scored with both" er Messi that is what football is all about scoring goals.....
My other point still on Barca game is that crowd was given as 0nly 55,000. A steward pal of mine said that the other 5,000 was made up of UEFA delegates, a huge press pack and other sponsors of the tournament. I hope Celtic got some reward for having 5,000 less tickets to sell. Timalloy

Too used to winning. Not felt defeat or known how to describe it for a long while.
Give Messi a break. Lol.
