Ed a found the piece on the physio post from earlier it was in sat paper and lenny quotes there's no need to worry about cal mac and Christie going away with Scotland as our physio is the Scotland physio n names mentioned.

As Celtic fans we like to think we are the best fans in the world but the last few seasons the abuse some of our players have had for our ranks is incredible.
Guys being written off, abused and told to get out of our club after a few bad games time and time again

Our captain our top, goal scorer and several players that have came through our youth system and as fans like to put it
"One of our own"
Today I read one fan say Henderson is no good in midfield. After about 4 games and some good displays?
I can't get my head around it.

I am not against criticising players who are having a bad game but our fans just seem to be going way over the top these days.

10 Mar 2019 21:47:55
Kev, we often disagree but youā€™re 100% spot on. The criticism of our players is starting to reek of ā€˜we are the peopleā€™ entitlement. Iā€™ve watched Celtic for over 50 years and have NEVER booed a Celtic player. We were born of famine and oppression and have the right to win nothing. And ā€˜fansā€™ if that is what the cretans call themselves that throw Buckie bottles and coins at opposition players consider themselves to be the best in the world Iā€™m seriously missing something.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - These days if a player misplaces a pass he should be sold.}

10 Mar 2019 22:34:31
And do you know what's worse guys. That it's not all young people that didn't live through our bad times. It's just as much people our age and the more success we have the worse they get.

Agree2 Disagree0

10 Mar 2019 22:53:00
It's not just in football tho. It's society in general, if couples are going through a bad patch it's divorce half the time. No-one seems to have patience for anything these days, so it's not surprising me the knee jerk reactions to players having a bad spell.

Agree4 Disagree0

11 Mar 2019 00:32:23
Agree totally with the post as I feel at times some people think that we can buy the 10iar. which made melook at our team that stopped the rangers from reaching ten.
Jonathan Gould 50,000 from Bradford
Marc Rieper Frr from West Ham
Tom Boyd 1,13 million from Chelsea
Enrico Annoni undisclosed from AS Roma
Alan Stubbs 4,7 million from Bolton
Jackie Mc Namara 900,000 from Dunfermline
Craig Burley undisclosed from Chelsea
Paul Lambert 2,9 million from Dortmund
Phil O'Donnell 2,65 million from Motherwell
Henrik Larrson 650,000 from Feyenoors
Simon Donnelly Free from Cosmos Canberra
I wonder how many of them would be considered good enough to play for Celtic today by our fans and yet they made history.

Agree4 Disagree0

11 Mar 2019 06:58:06
Cracks me up the criticism of players thereā€™s a guy by me spends more time criticising than watching (gets told every week to wrap it but never stops)
Donjom Iā€™d say half todayā€™s team would struggle to get in the one youā€™ve named.

Agree2 Disagree0

11 Mar 2019 11:56:03
Half the team? Most of the players that stopped the 10 would walk in our 1st team.
Plenty players fae that squad not mentioned there.
Only about 5 of our squad would get in the stop the 10 squad.
Brown Tierney sinky Bain Forrest and I don't think any of them would be guaranteed a start.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Mar 2019 13:56:26
Iā€™d say only Bain would be a 1st choice out of those but that only on current form. Loved rieper some player.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Mar 2019 15:46:59
Don't know about Bain because gould was fantastic that season.
Reiper was one of the best CBs I've ever seen at parkhead. So unlucky with injury.
Oneil would have loved him.

11 Mar 2019 16:48:33
Agree with both of you that it was some team and would probably beat the present team even though they didn't have invincible year or trble trebles etc but also to point that it didn't cost megabuccks to assemle (I don't even want to try and imagine what those players would be worth in todays market) . The rangers team thaat season wason paper I believe better than us and certainly cost a lot more as after winning 9 in a row thay spent another 14.5 million to secure the ten. Even with Laudrup, Gattuso, Amoruso, Moore etc they couldn't do it. I don't think either us or them will get this close again and we don't need to spend megabucks but we need a united team willing to give everything to achieve it and than means players and fans united and not fans constantly blasting the players.

Anyone who thinks that success can be bought by spending money should check Everton's "success" from the money spent in the last two summer transfer windows and study their lack of improvement .

The cold wind inside Celtic Park was blamed on some of the players as some of the freezing crowd tried to keep themselves warm by hurling abuse at players.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Mar 2019 20:24:34
Kev I thought young Henderson was the pick of our midfielders and was a bit confused as to why he was taken off at halftime.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Mar 2019 20:25:37
We wouldn't be able to buy most of that team these days a guy like Stubbs would go for 20 million plus.
Larsson wouldn't come to Celtic if it was now and neither would Lambert, straight from winning the champions league.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Mar 2019 20:07:23
Old man Chris if you think success can't buy success maybe you should study Manchester city and Chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Mar 2019 19:54:31
How many European Cups have Manchester City won?
How well have Chelsea done this past few seasons?
What about the Everton I mentioned?
Many of our fans would wet themselves with excitement if we matched Everton's spending . Many would be expecting European success, we have won double back to back trebles with spending very little and so Everton type spending would have to bring European success or it would be wasted money.

Stepbhoy2 it's hardly fans of the couple shouting abuse at them that causes couple to divorce šŸ˜ŠšŸ˜‡.

If you look at yesterdays game objectively you can see the problems that we have faced all season. None are too serious just need a bit of tweaking.
Firstly Macinnes played man to man couverage and kept everything very tight and phsyical
Yes they had chances but you can expect the oppenents to hhave some chances over 90mins.
To beat teams like Aberdeengoals from you need three things
1. forwards who can snatch goals from very little Griffiths or Dembele both who are not . Edaourd and burke are not natural goalscorers Weah. is still very young.
2 midfielders who can break in behind the defence to create oppertunities Macgregor Rodic Christie all injured. Hendrson may do that in the future but he is still young and hence the attempt to move Forrest into the middle from RW.
3 Luck were players end up in the right position at the right time. Twice we got behind in the second half.
The first time the cross was overplayed and Johnston did not gamble at the back post ala Sinclair and the second when Wesh flashed the ball across the goa; when a cutback to a oncoming brown may have been more effective. hopefully some of these players may be back for the semifinal against Macinnes and Rodic will scored in the last minute.

If we had got a lucky break in front of goals we could have snatched a goal and others could have followed.

10 Mar 2019 16:52:34
Celtic were poor yesterday and definitely a bit flat but I think some credit needs to go to the dandy Dons. McInnes has them well organised and you couldn't get a fag paper between what was effectively two banks of five. They are a big big physical side. That being said they were still able to play a bit for me and hit us on the break and if their finishing had been better could have nicked a goal. Hopefully it gives them a wee lift and a bit of confidence before their game on Tuesday against the follow followers. Euan Henderson looks as if he has potential and definitely doesn't hide nor is he easily intimidated. Early days but could be a class act.

The Henderson bhoy is twice the player his older brother is. This Bhoy will be a regular in the coming seasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Mar 2019 19:57:06
He probably will be far better than big brother, but it will take time, he needs to strengthen up as he looks a bit light weight at the moment . I hope he continues to get some game time.

What about this team if everyone fit
Bain
Lustig for experience
Boyata
Ajer or benk
Kt
Broony
Callum
Rogic
Forrest
Eddy
Burke on left to get at tav.

10 Mar 2019 16:17:46
Ment to say for sevco game.

Agree0 Disagree1

10 Mar 2019 18:15:15
I think Lennon will play Lustig but Kent is one of their faster players and gave Lustig a bit of a run around last game. Even though Toljan has been up and down form wise he would be a match for him pace wise . Also Sinclair can push back Tavernier and heā€™s took advantage when heā€™s attacked too much in previous games. As Fast as Burke is Iā€™m still not convinced, his touch at times let's him down . Either way player for player we are still the better team, we just need to show up and compete and we should have easily enough for these. I can also see the sidelines being interesting between Lennie and Gerrard.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2019 20:14:16
Mally Burke on left to get at tav?
Sinclair has murdered him almost every game we've played.
Again people wanting to drop our most effective attacking player for a guy that hasn't played that position for us. Mental.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Mar 2019 23:38:21
For me if everyone is fit:

Bain
Toljan Boyata Benkovic Tierney
Forrest Brown McGregor Sinclair
Burke Edouard

Bench - Gordon, Ajer, Lustig, Ntcham, Rogic, Weah, Henderson.

Have we not got a game against Dundee 1st?

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Mar 2019 12:59:49
Sinclair got to be a shoe in for Sevco. Again I'll say we should switch it up and go with Weah at 10 and Burke on left with Edouard up top. That front 4 will cause havoc for a cagey Rangers defence and something we haven't started with yet so the people won't be expecting it.

10 Mar 2019 15:46:51
KT "I'm buzzing he's here. He's a great manager and I am looking forward to working with him. " I'll take that, the boy doesn't talk Michael Knight in the manner Brenda spins a mile a minute.

I know it was a bit disappointing not getting the three points yesterday; but it was yet another clean sheet for Bain/ defense and since the winter break we have now only conceded twice domestically - the 'cheat' goal v. Motherwell and a penalty at Tyncastle.
Bain has been an excellent keeper, although to be perfectly honest, he rarely makes a lot of saves, thanks to the way the defense performs, with Boyata and Ajer both superb (apart from that penalty he conceded) and the excellent work of Broony and the full-backs. Just need the front men to find their shooting-boots again for the run-in and Bingo!

10 Mar 2019 15:46:40
A would say it's a worse weekend for sevco they've just missed the opportunity to cut our lead to 6 points.

Agree2 Disagree0

10 Mar 2019 16:03:03
I think yesterday showed that we are missing the likes of Rogic, Christie, McGregor, and N'cham.
Brown and Bitton work hard enough in the midfield but there is very little creativity there
I don't know how long they will all be out for, but hopefully a couple of them will be back by the time of the Sevco match.

Agree2 Disagree0

10 Mar 2019 16:17:02
Agree Mally; it could have been a lot worse; but according to the Sevco faction of my family I saw today:- NL will bottle it and we will drop more points and definitely not win a treble (treble) lol.
This was the same folk that were blowing a gasket Friday night when yet again they failed to rise to the opportunity and beat a 10 man opponent to close the gap. Six points from our next two games will be the perfect 'shut-up pill'.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Mar 2019 20:16:37
Think it's a bit far to say they didn't beat a 10 man opponent when the guy got sent off in the first minute of injure time OAB.
Thought they are shocking and have no chance of catching us.

The KT leaving noise has me thinking? Personally I'd be ok with Lennon getting job next season (would be interesting to see what he could do with BR budget) That said, someone the stature of KT May have a bearing on next manager. What I mean is if he does have itchy feet (which in my heart I doubt! ) the recruitment of an ambitious level manager could be clincher for that. Have nothing other than wishful thinking to support this but I do believe he's "Celtic through and through" :) and would be happy to play under NL. But if he does want to go, recruitment of a top notch manager could be influenced by that.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Mar 2019 13:02:22
Too slow in our build up play. Slower than Rodgers! Wouldn't personally want NL getting the job would hope we go for Marco Rose.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Mar 2019 18:58:00
Has Marco Rose any experience in Scotland? Does he fully understand the different standards and rule interpretations applied by SFA and SPL, Referees and SMSM in relation to Celtic and Rangers

If he doesn't he may have difficulties.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2019 13:52:44
Pray tell why are we letting KT whose just back from injury and McGreggor who hasn't yet returned go away with the national team just before we play the Govan hoardes?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

10 Mar 2019 20:17:26
Because rules state we must release them?

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2019 12:14:15
I see the KT and Rodgers link is getting trotted out and for me don't think KT has been 100% convincing in his refutation of the possibility. There's no doubt how much BR has got into the players heads which is obvious by the praise and respect they still have for him at least publicly including Broon, KT and Forest despite him leaving them in the proverbial. It's a tad concerning for me. The one saving grace and hopefully the reason it's unlikely to happen is that KT's aspirations should be higher than Leicester City but it's a good job Rodgers didn't find himself a top six team in Engerland and is more likely to be sacked than get one. Didn't like his phone call to Forrest either because the one thing that's a certainty BR didn't contact him because he was missing him or concerned about his welfare. He isn't hard to figure the only thing on BRs agenda is BR. time will tell all.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Jf a wouldn't read too much into it the papers were always going to go down this road.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2019 12:46:17
KT is a real 'Celtic Man'; not a fake like his previous manager and although he is still trying to get back to his best after injury, I sincerely believe - at his very best - he's better than Leicester City standard anyway if and when he feels like a change.
Anyway, what we need now is a concentrated effort from ALL the players to finish what they started; with what few games remain as no-one is going feckin anywhere in the immediate future.
Then we will see what lies ahead for Celtic - manager - and players.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2019 12:58:15
Mally youā€™re right they were moving BR on since the day he arrived and have been selling KT since his first game but itā€™s still disconcerting. All will be revealing in the Summer though.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Mar 2019 20:23:40
Even if KT does want to go, WHY would he go to Leicester? Much as Iā€™d love to see them go down this season, itā€™s not likely (though delightfully possible! ) But next season? With Brendan writing the cheques! Nice bet for relegation battle at least! KT is imho genuinely potential world class player, no way heā€™d go Leicester. Dropping paradise for The Theatre of Crisps? Hahahahaha.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2019 08:54:36
This may be an unpopular opinion but I've not been as impressed with Burke as a lot of you seem to be. Running at full flow he is a sight to behold but for me he's not really suited to playing as a striker and is keeping Edouard out of the team when he should be playing.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

10 Mar 2019 09:31:58
I'd prefer he was used out wide and I agree he should not be keeping edouard on the bench who I feel is a better goalscorer not to mention our own player.

Might have an agreement to play him, and maybe more reluctant to take forrest out the team perhaps?

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2019 10:42:50
I think when you have Forrest and Sinclair (to keep happy) , it becomes more difficult to play Burke in his best position and that has a knock-on effect keeping big 'Oddsoaks' out the starting 11.
Another recent complication is the inclusion of Biton (alongside Broony) who is keeping the formation rigid and a more attacking player out of the side. I reckon on current form Scott Brown does not need a chaperone against SPL opponents, especially at home.
I would hope yesterday's disappointment will give NL something to think about in our shape, while we wait for Cal-Mac and Christie.

Agree4 Disagree0

10 Mar 2019 12:29:28
Eddie didnā€™t give us much yesterday alrhough one of 10 failures on the day with Bain the only one getting pass marks. Iā€™m still to be convinced he can lead the line and heā€™s still got it all to prove for me in terms of justifying his fee.

Me neither Kevbhoy. I'd certainly go with Edouard as a 'striker' over Burke. Not to mention he's our young player.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2019 15:16:15
Wouldn't mind us going with Eddy up top, Weah as number 10, Burke on the right and Henderson in for Bitton. Be plenty of speed and creativity and gives Forrest a rest.

11 Mar 2019 20:21:56
Said it a few times before, Burke ainā€™t no striker! And how heā€™s went for 15 million on two occasions astounds me! Absolutely no composure on the ball, a first touch like a baby elephant! yes heā€™s got pace and power but doesnā€™t use them in the rite way! Eddy should be starting up front all day long for me! And big bayo should at least be getting a run out here and there! So kev Bhoy it ainā€™t an unpopular opinion mate, your spot on! Heā€™ll go back to WBA and maybe they can find someone to shell out silly money for him! But it wonā€™t be us!
