Surely with the problem over live TV for replay why don't they have the replay on the Saturday/ Sunday 21st / 22nd and play the league match on the date of the original cup replay .

Believable1 Unbelievable0

10 Mar 2015 23:27:17
Or just make Sundays game a one off, winner take all 😊

11 Mar 2015 16:10:51
Fab 1 not very wise , everyone would lose money but the fans and it doesn't matter about the fan's money . Scotland could do the same the EFA who are arranging the Liverpool replay against poor Blackburn for around the 8th 9 th of April . However switching the league game for the Cup replay is to me the most satisfactory solution .

With the game not on TV next week I hope some smart pricing will be applied regarding tickets. I doubt it will be on the season ticket. So I hope the tickets are priced to sell and get the ground as full as possible

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - The prices are £15 for adults and £5 for concessions.}

10 Mar 2015 21:51:40
Cheers ed. I think that's a fair enough price.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Mar 2015 16:15:13
Why oh why are the locals moaning about the price of match tickets. There are thousands of fans that spend £50 and more travelling to Celtic Park . If the locals paid something like £40 towards the cost of this travelling, it maybe fairer all round .
I am justsick of people moaning about £25 per ticket

Agree0 Disagree1

11 Mar 2015 16:55:47
Chris what are you on about now. Who was moaning. I was asking for a fair price to attract more people when the games not on the season book or TV. I was advised the price was 15 and I said that's fair. What has that got to do with travel costs. IF your happy to pay 25 next week then buy a ticket and stick a tenner into charity. If your not happy with travel costs move closer to celtic park. Am I to subsidise your travel because I stay that close to celtic park some of big efes passes end up in my garden. Of course not.

Agree1 Disagree1

11 Mar 2015 22:10:33
Garybhoy . Many many of the Celtic supporters do live far away from Celtic Park and I am sure even you realise that many of us who have roots elsewhere just cannot take up Tebbit's bike and move closer to Celtic Park . It seems the fans who live closer are more concerned about admission charges than those further away who have to pay more .

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Mar 2015 22:53:51
Chris I will give you the courtesy of a response. But I am convinced you are constantly at the wind up. So what would your travel subsody plan include. All those who live within 10 miles help to pay for those outwith 10
Miles. All those traveling from inside scotland help those from outside scotland. All those inside glasgow help those outside glasgow. What about earnings. Should we take a mans wage into consideration before we decide how much he should pay. Chris If you are fortunate enough that you can get over for games( I don't know if you can) then fair play. There are guys who live on the same St as the stadium who can't afford it. It's like anything else in life there are some things you can afford to do and some things you can't . May I remind you chris all I done was ask about a ticket price here.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Mar 2015 12:35:17
Your spot on Gary if you choose to come and support us rather than your local team ( a lot of the times for reasons outwith football ) then you choose to pay the extra travel costs, simple.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Mar 2015 16:09:55
Naw not so simple, the moaning poor mouths locals from the Glasgow area keep harping on about the price of admission . For the last two years they have had £100 each year off the price of season tickets plus many one off reductions and even free admission to those who could prove their unemployment / benefit entitlements before match . That's find and I am not saying that local fans are not worthy of enducments

I would like the club to subsidise some of the travel expenses for those who encore in excess of some figure around £40 or £50 by making a contribution to the bus company who should pass it on. If Celtic is going to remain great it will only do so by capturing the local support in greater numbers than now, but Successful Celtic and some unsuccessful Celtic teams always had fans travelling in great numbers from all over these Islands . I know of people who travelled from Ireland to Glasgow on cattle boats . The fans were hemmed in with the cattle and I heard many stories of the problems if an animal got turned roun .
Fab1 without the vast hoardes supporting are team from every where and anywhere Celtic would be just like Hibs or Kilmarnock in ten years

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Mar 2015 18:29:49
Oh my Chris I think you really over estimate the amount of fans who travel over the Irish sea for games, I know for a fact only 1-2 hundred fans come through gla airport because I deal with them, and that's for a big game . Now I can't imagine anymore than 1000-1500 come on the ferry every week ( just a guess but looking at the ferry times, capacity and frequency it might even be an over estimate) so you think a drop off 1700 fans would leave us with crowds of 5 - 10 thousand. You truly do underestimated our club and overestimated your own importance m8.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Mar 2015 20:09:07
Fab I was just reading back there. All I've done is ask a ticket price for next week. That led to me being told I've to pay Chris' travel over. When I refused it changed to Peter lawell has to pay Chris' travel. All I done was ask the price of a ticket 2 days ago. lol. Chris maybe you should ask Timalloy he seems to be doing well on the horses. He may pay for you to come over. lol

That would make sense for Celtic . Difficult to see what would be in it for Feyenord or anyone else. His reputation wasn't great when he came to us and it is certainly a lot worse now .

So a will have a bash at this Ed and you can keep me right mate

With the mess the officials made of it at the weekend I see it as this

Paul Paton has to get off so he will get off Ciftci has been banned by evidence probably because they cannot switch the sending off to Butcher (but Ciftci deserves that) No action on Broonie

VVD ban stands but has the right of appeal and is doing so!

All appeals in by tomorrow night and heard by Thursday at the latest! Correct?

So they will stick it to Ciftci, VVD ban will stand and both will miss the Cup Final?

And as a result of "kangaroo book balancing" both teams go into the final minus a influential player each so they are seen to have done something!?

Thoughts please folks

Believable2 Unbelievable0

10 Mar 2015 19:25:34
That's about right Jamie, I was surprised the guy who dived for the penalty never got charged.
It looks like they don't want either team accusing them of favouritism.
I was quite pleased that Ciftci got banned though, he always seems to cause us problems.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2015 19:26:29
JB7 other than Butcher not getting a red card, did you really expect anything else.

Im only surprised they did not have a go at Broooonie.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2015 19:48:46
Hi Gerry & cprs, Both valid inputs a suppose you share my thoughts and if they had have "dug up" the Connolly incident they would have balanced it off against taking action on Broonie a suppose?

But again Connolly is a DIVER!

Drives you crazy! atvb jb7

10 Mar 2015 23:35:24
I think ciffi was already banned from the final because of bookings earlier in the competition. So after the dust settled only vvd will be banned for the final, as a direct consequence of the game at tannadice .

Hi Ed,
Any idea why Scepovic isn't getting a chance, and is behind Guidetti who looks unfit and uninterested every time he plays?

Just feel we should be investing the game time into the guy who we own and pay wages to, as opposed to Guidetti who sounds like the summer can't come soon enough.

cheers!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - RD is seeing him in training, Mike so he must have his reasons but my own personal opinion is Scepovic has never wanted to be here. There were approaches made to Spanish clubs during the January window to see if there was any interest in taking him on loan but nothing could be agreed with any club.
I don't see Scepovic being here next season, that'll be another flop striker and another couple of million £ down the drain.}

10 Mar 2015 15:14:17
Ed did we not have Kramaric good to go as a 'replacement' for Scepovic when it looked like he wasn't signing? A guy who's already on 30 goals this season, albeit most of them in Croatia.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Yep.}

10 Mar 2015 15:17:25
Just as I stated a few posts ago, Scepovic in my mind has used us to kill time until his next move. Did not want to come to us. Poss RD sees nothing about him in training and that he really can't wait to move on.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2015 15:48:29
What Ed007 says is correct, even with Guidetti not performing well he is obviously doing more in training than Scepovic and so is first sub for striker. It's not that long ago since Guidetti scored twice in two games,

Awryt ed. been readn a lot about the celtic replay next wed is not going to be shown live because of champs league games!. is ther any options to explore by letting bbc broadcast it?.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - The rules are that no other matches can be shown in direct competition to the CL so it wouldn't matter if it was BBC, ITV, SLY or even BBC Alba, the game can't be shown.
I don't know if the clubs will explore an earlier K.O. say at 6 p.m. but if it goes to E.T. and penalties it could still run into CL time, I can't see any way it can be shown on TV unless the clubs decide on an afternoon (3 p.m.) K.O.}

10 Mar 2015 20:07:42
I thought the television rule was only when a team for the same country played in the cl then there could be no other live match shown as there is an u21 game on mutv just now

Any idea when vvds hearing is, I take it they will look at it before Sunday . If they are going to charge chifi for kicking brown in the head, how long have they got? Does anyone know exactly which Celtic and Dundee u player's are suspended for Sunday .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

10 Mar 2015 14:36:06
At the moment Vvd is the only celtic suspension

Dundee United have paton and I think Dixon banned

The hearing is on Thursday so patons will be overturned. Don't hold much hope on Vvd getting it overturned tho

Also ciftci banned for picking up a yellow against Aberdeen (his second in the competition )

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2015 11:24:06
I apologise for being a bit dim, but what are the rules regarding these sending offs on Sunday.
Van djik was sent off and misses the league cup final and the replay, fair enough.
Paul Dixon gets sent off for Dundee United, but can play in the final, how is this?.
I remember the Cup replay against Rangers in 2011, when they had 3 players sent off, yet none of them served bans because the suspensions only counted for Cup matches, and as none of them were at Rangers the following year they effectively got off scot free.
There must be a logic somewhere in all this,
but I'm afraid I don't understand what it is.

bu t I'm afraid I don't understand

I think a red card for violent conduct carries automatic 3 game ban fir the next 3 games.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2015 12:23:00
I think if a player is sent off for violent conduct then he misses the next game. Otherwise I think the ban is for the next game in that competition only

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2015 12:52:56
Thanks, I didn't know what the rules were, you would think it would be more straightforward to just treat the competitions the same disciplinary wise.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

10 Mar 2015 10:14:32
He's right. But we receive punishment. Boerrigters was no different to theirs. They should have three players banned and us one if fairness has a place in the decision making.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2015 10:23:19
Infact, four for united.

Butcher should get a retrospective red and Patons overturned.

Ciftci for kicking an opponent in the face surely.

Cinnolly, like Boerrigter for the 'dive'.

And Dixons for the hand ball. And that is a red by the way. Not sure what planet Walker was on saying there was nothing he could d. He moved his hands towards the ball. Remember Sasa Papac blocking a shot from Mark Wilson with his heed and getting knocked out before a rebound went in? that's what a defender should do in that situation.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2015 16:01:38
Connolly has got off, the only difference in the two cases was Boerrigter received some contact, where as Connolly managed the dive completely on his own .

What is wrong with Dundee Utd, for years and years they have been as hard and as dirty with us as the Govan mob . I used to think their hatred and thuggery used to reflect their managers, but they haven't changed one bit since Jackie Mac took over . I always thought Jackie certainly never shirked a tackle but he was never dirty, nor his father before him .
