Hi love the site always reading some got post and fun looking forward to next season. Think it's going to be a whole new eara for celtic. Does any1 know if the green brigade will be back in 111 next season!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Del I think 111 is being turned into a safe standing area that should be ready by October or November. I know there is no availability left in the area for season tickets so I assume the GB are back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic are waiting on planning permission coming back to turn the full North Curve (2, 800) into safe standing. Either way, the GB are / should be getting 111 back.

Ed this 15 yr old sensation that is RD's protégé that they are hankering about in the daily rank

Surely he should be the first we should be trailing?

With his conx to RD and aftering trial @ man u & munich he is exactly what fits

RD saying to his parents (mind he is 15) let me get him to Barca in 4/5 years time

How much would it be to prize a 15 year old 3 - 3.5 mil?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Martin Odegaard is his name Jamie. I've no idea how much they would be looking for him, he's in the first year of a 2 year professional contract.

10 Jun 2014 19:35:10
Thanks v much for that

Easy to see the hype mate , plays with no FEAR!

Tell me that ain't a good omen with that number on his back?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - He's got great technique for a 15 y.o. I noticed the number right away :)

You are having a laugh even thinking we consider paying up to 4 million for a 15 year old when we only pay half that for 1st team professionals. Ps I hope we don't get linked with every Scandinavian who played with or against rd

Hi Jim a asked how much 3 or 3.5 not 4 , he been on trial @ two of the biggest clubs going a simply asked Jim, if the big two were coming in for our Calvin Miller dubbed the best player for his age in Europe , How much would we want? How much do you think atb

Agree0 Disagree0

You're right Jim I just can't see us paying that for a 15 y.o. However, as much as the League standards might not be great, no denying there have been some great talents from Scandinavia over the years, a few of which have been great for us. If RD can get us a head start on the next talents from that area I'm all for it. Would I rather have this lad or Gauld? Not sure. But I don't care what pro league you're in, if you can do what this vid demonstrates at the age of 15 then you've got to be worth the gamble.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry hit 4 instead of 3 didn't mean to overprice a 15 yr old. You said we should be trailing this boy first then you rated him at 3-3.5 million, if that's what you think he's worth I again ask are you having a laugh thinking we would spend that on a 15 year old?

Agree0 Disagree0

Cracking talent, reminds me a bit like messi, but noticed a couple of decent players

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jun 2014 21:57:20
Agreed Jim Tim but if we are constantly being told " we would push the boat out for something special" then it might NOT take 3MIL but if it is got to the stage we are not prepared to pay £3 Mill For anyone then a give up because we ain't ever getting Somethin special again!

If Chelsea sign 2 18 year olds in excess of 20 mill in lukaku n courtois n loan them straight back out if Manchester United pay 12.2 mill (11 years ago) for Ronaldo
same age how much is Man Utd & Munich willing to pay for a 15 year old playing first team football? atb

considering this is the first year of a two year contract I don't think he would cost a great deal although his club obviously won't want to sell and secondly would the player himself want to move yet?

maybe with rd that gives us more of a chance if interested but I would think its in the players own interest to stay and continue where he's at

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't know why you are bringing Man U + Chelsea into it as we will never compete with them financially. This boy might be good? We might sign him but we will never pay 3 million for a 15 yr old I truly wish we could but realism must kick it isn't going to happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think I've given up too Jamie mate. Not saying we shouldn't spend money, just don't think we will. I've said before, my thoughts on what we should do and my expectations of what we will do are getting further apart.

Hi Jim 1972 a brought man u + Chelsea into it because this is what they paid for talented 18 yr olds and man utd. have already trialled the lad mate , am fully expecting us to sign someone that RD has coached or worked with atb BJB

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah he looks a cracking young player - great awareness. He looks better than any of the kids that I've seen in the Celtic academy, which is super worrying. Nothing against Chris McCart/McIntyre etc but why in the name of God can we not produce players at a higher level. I've been saying this for years - I could list endless players that we let go at 20 who are Scottish div 1/2 level. I hope the manager guts the whole youth set up!

Surely the best man for the assistant managers job is David Nielson? I really don't know why only ex celtic players or current coaches are being mentioned for the role when Ronny's assistant at stromsgodset is obviously the best man to work with him as its been proven to work. I'm all for someone who knows the club and the scottish game to join the first team set up as a coach but Nielsen working with Deila clearly works and should be given a chance at a bigger. Nielsen is only in temporary charge of Stromagodset so I'm sure he'd fancy moving with Ronny

Believable0 Unbelievable0

10 Jun 2014 17:41:56
No to ex celts or CURRENT?? Coaches LM

That would only leave us fat sally ffs ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Ed enlightened us the other day about Nielsen's record of assaulting players and even match fixing?! Not for me. Obviously it's a view from the outside but I'm not sure RD will have as much say as he would like, otherwise I'd expect us to have the coaching staff sorted by now. Becoming a bit of a joke now if you ask me. PL and DD better stump up the £20m+ this window too ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

Has Nielson been found guilty or has he even been charged, or is he just been linked with these allegations . His club have promoted him to manager or head coach, so they cannot be too worried .

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - He's been found guilty assaulting a team mate and was sacked and admitted the match-fixing because of his gambling problems.}

He isn't a good boy then, we would be better to steer well clear of him.
I hope that doesn't mean we get John Collins .

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jun 2014 16:07:30
Ok controversial question. Would you take Butcher as assistant manager?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I'll crack the jokes!}

Nice one ed. I thought it was getting too quiet so thought I would light the fuse and run for cover!

Never for me but onky matter of time till its mentioned in the press.

Agree0 Disagree0

One of you two is going to have to share whatever it is you know.

Agree0 Disagree0

Only if messi and ronaldo came as part of the package for free, and even then I would only be 50 / 50 about giving him the job .

So the ET reporting it is either JC or PH or JK for within how sad an narrow minded is this?

What about Danny Lennon a good coach, won a cup with a team that had not won in more than a quarter of a century and loves to play good attack minded football, did not deserve the sack IMO

Realise Ed's stomach ulcer might flare up at thought of another Lennon on board :-)

Now big Stubbs, that is the best shout av seen so far my view is the asst manager should be a CONTRAST to the manager to allow a different perspective thoughts anyone?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I said a while back when JM left that Jim Duffy would be my choice. Given RD's appointment, I think he'd be an even better appointment now.

He knows the Scottish game, at all levels, he's managed in the Scottish game, at all levels, and is a great coach - especially with youngsters. As well as which, he is a Celtic man through and through, which whilst not a huge priority of mine, ticks a box for a lot of Celtic fans.

The fact he's now went to Morton as Manager probably rules him out - if he was ever seriously considered before. (which I doubt)

I don't think John Collins is right, for a plethora of reasons - most of which ED has outlined - nor would I be overly happy with Peter Houston or Danny Lennon.

Alan Stubbs is an interesting shout, but how much does he know about the Scottish game at the moment? That should be one of the priorities for the appointment - someone who knows the game, because RD won't be fully across it and it'll take him (at least) a season to get up to speed.

It's not going to be Jackie Mac, or Paul Hartley (and neither it should be - if they would leave their posts, I'd question their ambition), but they are a great example of coaches within the game here that could be great appointments, if not marquee ones.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - How much compensation would it take to get Duffy from Morton? Stubbs has done a lot of scouting in Scotland for Everton. I know it's not ideal but I think he could really offer something to us in a coaching role, if he is leaving Everton and him and his Mrs fancy moving back up here, she never really settled up here and it was a huge factor in him leaving as a player.}

10 Jun 2014 16:19:55
Can honestly say a don't want Terry Butcher lol

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jun 2014 16:24:41
Would love to see big Stubbs back at paradise but I think he is doing well with Everton in a coaching role just now. What about Mike Phelan as a potential candidate? Wealth of experience with Utd. Anyone any idea what he's upto these days?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Phelan is still out of work. I think if you're talking about him you're getting into the Steve Clarke or Paul Clement type of appointment.}

I don't doubt we could get him in terms of compensation - I meant more in terms of him leaving them. I know he's 100% Celtic, I just think he'd struggle (not saying he wouldn't ultimately decide to leave) since he's literally just got there. As I said though, it's all irrelevant as I doubt he is/was/will ever be considered - which is a shame.

I think Stubbs would be a great addition to the coaching staff, I'm just not sure in terms of assistant. That said, I wasn't aware of his scouting up here so he's probably got more knowledge of the Scottish game at the moment than I'd given him credit for.

Either way I think he'd be a good appointment (as coach or AM).

I'm surprised Billy Stark hasn't been mentioned - or dun dun dun Kenny Sheils ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

If we get John Collins or Terry Butcher we will be back to where we were ten days ago. The lift we got from signing RD will be offset by the kick in the teeth we will receive by signing JC or T B .
I think we can do a lot better and I think keeping with Ronnie Deila's young age for coach we should appoint a young man who will work with him at all times .

Hi Ed, wondered if you had any news on any likely players we can expect to see next season?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I've not heard anything regarding transfers, sorry. Deila will be looking over DVDs of matches and looking at all the available data on the squad and I'm sure Pedro is on holiday now.}

10 Jun 2014 12:55:25
I would like to think that following the s*n newspaper witch hunt on vvd for three consecutive days will prompt the celtic fans who purchase this poor excuse for a newspaper to stop purchasing it immediately.all it is, is a daily version of the news of the world(now defunct) gutter press at its best.sso come on all celtic fans give it the red card now.killy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Total toilet paper. I put them straight in the bin anytime I see one in the works canteen. I'm just waiting to be pulled up by the guy who buys it so I can let rip!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'll admit I buy it, but only because of striker, muddy Mildred
