apparently the rangers board have listed 3 possible venues for their EGM now that all london hotels have placed an embargo on hosting the circus

option 1
dublin

option 2
vatican city

option 3
lourdes

Apparently their decision will be based partly on the security risks

That board have some brass neck!

Believable1 Unbelievable4

I think their board are doing a great job.

can we maybe be inter in context please? They are a team of individuals staggering through seria A. We played an equally poor (but higher up the table) AC side in MIlan and ran them ragged and somehow lost 2-0.

The ONLY way to win this tie is to play the way we have been playing. We will last the 180 minutes and we can press.

The biggest issue for Celtic will be akin tom the old adage that used to be applied to any team playing the new york yankees, IE they couldn't see beyond the stripes .IE the opponent saw the "giant" and re`reacted accordingly (went in to a shell).

Inter are struggling in a better league than the SPL. Celtic are at last playing well in a relatively poor league.

Let's give Inter the "celtic" that we are growing to respect and admire and believe in. We are not good enough to play the tie any other way.

This is not being disrespectful to the italian "giant", this is more about playing our game at our pace and hoping that it is good enough (all told) to beat a team that IS STRUGGLING FOR ANY SORT OF FORM.

if we lose, then fine. We will never know if an ultra-cautious unorthodox approach would have taken us behind them. Nor is it naivety on my part.

We have toiled for too long to see the fruits of RD's labour.

This is our time. Inter probably couldn't see the game far enough!

A bit of confidence never hurt anyone.

The KEY will be making sure that the players who take to the field in both legs have faith in one another and believe that the sum of our parts is more effective than anything an individual or two (playing with a team that is well below-par)can muster.

Hail Hail

as an aside, agree with ED that the overall "performance" will be the yardstick of how far we have come as opposed to the result, albeit Mr Lawell may disagree :)

Believable1 Unbelievable2

I fully agree that we need to pressurise Inter from the goalie, defenders etc. I wouldn't think in the grand scheme of things that we have toiled that long under Deila . I imagine Deila will expect Celtic to be still continuing to improve this time next season and beyond . Inter will provide a good indication of where we are if we play our natural game .

Just a bit o fun guys. Gordon, Matthews, Mulgrew, Efe, Connell.Wakaso, Henderson, GMS, Forrest, Stokes, Guidetti.
This is a 2nd team we could put out (CG apart as keepers don't need rested).
But would this team win the league?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

On paper quite a strong eleven. don't know how they would fare against Utd or Aberdeen but Broony would be missed.

Agree1 Disagree0

I would be happy to see it fielded in a league game if players were needing rested. Would be interesting to see how they did

Agree0 Disagree0

Nope sorry but that is what NL did in cup games see where that got us we need to use the strongest 11 available in ALL games left

Agree1 Disagree0

I think Celtic can make probably three changes, and still win a domestic game. Experience has shown in various leagues that whenever a manager make wholesale changes, even his experienced players left on the team seem to suffer a drop in standards.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha notice I said league game.

Imagine we are still in 4 comps playing twice a week, well ahead in the league. would you really complain if we changed 10 players for a league game?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes I would because we are now in the habit of winning and I wouldn't want to change the whole out-field players and risk losing a game .
Every game is important and our fans deserve a strong team for every league game .

Am a missing something here? Jig "elbows" McCulloch has been offered a 2 game ban for stamping on a Raith player

He STAMPED on Guidetti the week before! It was clear!

Have they not took action because it was the league cup, or because he wasn't booked at the time?

Jamiebhoy they were shamed into doing something because of the level of complaints about him and the spotlight got got too hot from them to handle, because make no mistake their compliance officer has been in hiding since the league cup game doing his see no evil hear no evil act

Agree5 Disagree7

Hi Tim the compliance officer must have being doing his "braille" course during the SF

Griffiths incident happened 12 ft away from him! But that's right they have a deal with "specsavers" don't they?

Agree1 Disagree0

They are utterly shameless in their bias towards sevco. The thug elbowed Griffiths right in front of the lino, no more than two yards away FFS, and nothing. he then fouled Guidetti and took Broony out on the next move then stamped on Guidetti.Result. free kick to sevco!

Agree1 Disagree0

No compliance officier is going to be seen to call a player from the Govan club to appear before him for an assault by feet or elbows on a Celtic player.
That event isn't in his job description.

Big Lustig out injured again. I think he's a great player but he's starting to look like another injury prone player we've got on the books with Forrest and Boerigter. I'd rather have Lustig than Matthews in the team for Inter because he is better defensively than Matthews. I think Ronny will be looking to overhaul our defence in the summer with either or maybe both of Lustig and Matthwes going, we all know Virgil is for the off and we'll probably punt big Efe if we get a bid like the £3m bid in January. If Denayer goes back to City that leaves us just with Izzy, Mulgrew Fisher and young O'Connell.

On another note it seems the press jumped the gun again by blaming Celtic fans for the attack on the zombie fan in Newarthill last Sunday. Turns out it was 2 supporters of Scotland's newest club that carried out the attack and it had nothing to do with football. The Daily Ranger had quotes from the guys wife blaming Celtic fans and she's telling anyone who will listen up this neck of the woods she never mentioned anything to do with football fans to them.

I wonder what else they printed about that weekend that wasn't 100% true, maybe like a phantom bus attack that nobody seems to have witnessed.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Mate papers like to stir trouble and blacken celtics name. i'm surprised fans have not been blamed for wrecking blue peter garden in the 80s

Agree4 Disagree0

She was quoted in the paper as saying that. So easy if she wants to sue, but I said at the time she was jumping the gun and now trying my to backtrack.

Agree3 Disagree0

It appears a lot of people not just the MSSM jumped on the band wagon . Not only does it appear the finger as to who attacked this youngster was pointed in the wrong direction but the injuries sustained were grossly over exaggerated.

Agree2 Disagree0

Hi DN30 mate if that happened noo at least they would have someone on "garden leave" to fix it :-) (y)

Agree1 Disagree0

Lol your right mate lol

So the boy wasn't hit by one of our fans? Just typical of the daily Rangers spreading there lies! Maybe now they've been banned by sevco they start actually printing the truth!! wouldn't hold my breath but!

Guys all I know is a wee boy has a sore face and I really want the Police to get to the bottom of it but (and this is not like me) I don't understand how NOBODY seen Celtic fans on Cathcart Rd - the Rangers end shouting and shaking at a Supporters bus?

Agree1 Disagree0

Sorry am not up to speed on this can someone enlighten me or direct me where ever please?

Agree0 Disagree0

@Mrs E I thought it was strange that there was no talk on twitter about it when it happened. A bus load of zombies at the zombie end and not one of them took the chance to stoke up the tension and have a dig at us on twitter. If it had been the other way round our supporters would make sure everbody and their dog knew asap

Agree1 Disagree0

Soz no probs ed, didn't think I said anything outrageous.

I don't want to say to much as the wee fella is hurt and whatever happened needs sorted out.

Obviously it has been stated Celtic fans were responsible so I take it they were wearing Celtic colours which means they stood out on Cathcart Rd like a sore thumb.

I'm just getting more and more cynical by the day of this and other things I read in newpapers and online. I think some folk just talk permanent sh*t and see if a fan of any Club steps out of line, I don't see how its down to other fans to apologise on their behalf or collect money in way of an apology (each to their own though)

Agree1 Disagree0

Heh rayman just as well oor Ed likes you mate :-)

You were close to getting poot oot on "gardening leave" too pmsl
