Use our rumours form to send us celtic transfer rumours.

10 Dec 2017 22:41:36
Ed have u heard anything about Griffiths falling out wae Rodgers? A suppose it's easy to listen to rumours when he's stuck on the bench. The rumour a heard was that him turning up at all these kids parties is some kind of punishment that brown has handed him. A think he would've been a better option today than edouard. Hindsight a suppose.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

11 Dec 2017 17:18:23
How does turning up at a kids party deem to be a punishment? Surely the players are more than happy to attend and make the wee ones day. There will be the usual pish to try and upset the Applegarth although I think this may be Griffiths last season. in a celtic shirt. Would play. him before Edourda all day long but the bhoys got to get a chance sometime.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Dec 2017 22:45:24
Just something someone said they'd heard, it's probably a load of crap like 99% of the rumours going round.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Dec 2017 22:06:55
Think BR needs to come up with 2 teams for the rest of December. Strong 11 and 2nd string, 2nd string to play Hamilton, Strong vs Hearts. 2nd string vs Partick, Strong vs Aberdeen. 2nd string vs Dundee then all out vs Sevco. Surely giving the big boys a much needed break should help us pull away in the league come the winter break.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

10 Dec 2017 23:05:28
It's high time the 'squad players' stood up to the plate, because I reckon BR has lost confidence in several of them and that has put added pressure and reliance on guys who are struggling for form and fitness and clearly need a break.
Rogic, Hayes, Kouassi, Ajer, Edouard, Biton, Schevchenko, Henderson, Gamboa and De Vries are all capable of most SPL standard opponents and they are paid to do a job for Celtic - and should do it, even short term as and when required.
I feel sorry for KT as when we let Izzy go, we have no cover apart from maybe Calvin Miller who was tried there briefly?
However, there must be a game or two, wher we can play a back three form Lustig, Biton, Boyata, Simunovic and/ or Eric just to give the youngster a break?

Anybody else think sky is way behind bt on there coverage of Scottish football no manager interviews and no mention of the Sinclair offside goal or dare I say it stokes diving.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - SLY are miles behind mate BT in everything regarding Scottish football coverage apart from Hayley McQueen.}

Good shout ed.

{Ed007's Note - :)

10 Dec 2017 23:07:30
ED what's your thoughts on Griff being left out anything in it?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Brendan Rodgers thinks he's spending too much time at wean's birthday parties he's invited to on Tw@tter. He warned him it could be a cunning scheme from the CSA to get DNA samples and LG asked why the Celtic Supporters Association would want his DNA?}

10 Dec 2017 23:58:25
getting closer to Jan window I do hope we get in a new CH but do you think we will c anyother position being looked at for freshing up?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - CB's the obvious priority but we need a backup LB, even an older player, to cover KT and give him a rest. RW/LW could cause problems if Forrest or Sinclaur gets injured too. We need a GK but that's not happening in January.
Do we really need to buy players to dominate the domestically or are people wanting money spent for the EL? We'll win another treble with the squad we've got. For donkey's years we've heard managers talk about getting players in during January to bed them in for CL qualifiers or get them in early in the summer for the qualifiers etc It's all bollocks to keep us hanging on every scrap of a rumour anyone makes up.}

11 Dec 2017 00:38:13
Yeah I do agree CH has to be a must but wae the way Jan spending has been going on I think we won't bring in CH till summer and work with Bitton Ajer and Lustig in there till the summer. There was talk possibly going back in for that Cortzee boy again but I think he's no touch a ball since the summer have there been any names for these positions we need?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I've not heard anything, Rich, sorry.}

11 Dec 2017 00:45:59
Cheers ED hope wee Griff gets run out next c if we can get some freshness about us again.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Hopefully the winter break will give us a chance to recharge the batteries and keep our dominance going. We've got the squad to see us through and see where we are in January.}

11 Dec 2017 00:57:32
Yeah we just need to give the squad a chance give Hayes and some of the other squad that chance. This is a terrible thing to say but we may be better taking a defeat to bring us back the pressure maybe affecting some players.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - No chance! One day at a time and forget what's went before. If it's weighing the team down it's up to Rodgers to keep things fresh and competitive. The squad we have is, and should be, ample to keep our foot on the throat of Scottish football right now and for the foreseeable future.}

11 Dec 2017 01:11:07
Hope so ED. In terms of the draw morra who would u like to us get?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - AC Milan.}

Bold choice do they draw out two rounds at a time like they did back in the day?

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Dec 2017 07:55:09
there has to be players like Kolo out there who would come in for a season or 2 to shore up our defence - someone in a similar position to Sinclair who needs a fresh start, reignite their career.

Not ideal, but if Ajer is the real deal, 2 seasons on he should be grounded and in the starting 11. And if he's not.

10 Dec 2017 21:03:09
Let me give my assessment of the current squad
Please remember that any players who we go for
A have to want to come to Scotland and have to be affordable

Gordon a fairly good keeper yes we could look for better but who
De Vries making up squad numbers

Lusnig starting to show his age
Gamboa can only play in a back 5 has pace but?
Ralston still very young

Simanovic could defend better slow against top players
Boyata a better defender than Simnovic but a poorer passer
Sviatchenko leaving soon
Ajer very raw needs more time

Teirney has been found out at times in defense but is still very young

Brown how long can he go on
Biton not up to CL otherwise good squad player
Ntcham only been here 5 months more to come
Kouassi again only just come to the club needs more game time so we can assess properly

Armstrong has reached his level cannot see him developing any more
Macgregor very important 6 months for him needs to push on a bit

Forrest best start to a season winning over fans but he needs to make a greater impact over 90 mins and not in rare bursts
Roberts this season is over where does he go next?
Hayes did not understand this signing over 30 and unlikely to get a regular start

Sinclair having a poor year so far but still scoring Forrest could learn even when having a bad game makes an impact

Rogic not sure how to assess flatters a lot but does not grab a game by the scruff of the neck and dictate the game
Griffiths the most natural goalscorer at the club but lightweight and that is what BR and others don, t like
Dembelle second season syndrome
Edouard taken a little while to settle let's wait until the end of the year
Christie could be the long term midfield creator we desire could be not guaranteed
Not included any more as I don, t see anymore making an impact soon
maybe Johnstone.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

10 Dec 2017 21:48:22
@jonace: that's just about right, the interesting thing about Christie is that he could be the one to replace Armstrong ( who looks like leaving ) . When you look at the positions that WE think need to strengthen and then its a case of how much? and does the player want to come to the Scottish league?
Do we spend £20m on 3 players plus wages?
Do we sell Moussa if the right Bid comes in?
Whats the issue with Griffs not starting?
Do we look at trying for PR, he could be cheaper due to poorer season?
A top CB?
A Right back?

there a few issues to fix but im sure BR and PL will get them sorted.

Agree0 Disagree1

10 Dec 2017 22:50:28
Roberts has had a terrible time of it, losing a proper pre-season has caused his injuries and form lapses and if he is to be out until March/ April I think the loan should be terminated and either buy him or forget about him?
The frustrating thing for me this season is having to wonder how many of last seasons successes will actually turn up and play a decent game and too many of them have flattered to deceive or failed too many times for weeks now.
Hayes has found the pressure of the 'step-up' too much to handle, while Rogic, Boyata, Armstrong and Moussa have not progressed or improved enough and I agree Lustig is past his best and lacks pace, and stamina.
The bulk of this squad can all play better, but maybe the pressure of the undefeated run or just plain fatigue has taken it's toll?
Griffiths seems to be out of favour - apparently for some sort of incident or situation with the manager - and if that's correct, then putting him on the bench instead of the stand defies logic.

The good news is that even though we are under performing, we are still top of the league, with a trophy in the cabinet and Europa League football - if only for another round?
The winter break and transfer window will be very important in re-focussing, replacing and refreshing, however, we still need to get back to some sort of form to assert our authority and dominance.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Dec 2017 13:23:23
So in summary jonace you think our squad is p*sh.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Dec 2017 20:30:06
What people need to remember is that since Rodgers came our players have not really had a break. Weve played way more matches than any team in the league and we play at a higher tempo.

What we are seeing just now is a team running on fumes and in need of a rest. I am confident that we will see a different team after the winter break. I just hope that Rodgers rotates the squad and we keep our record intact going into winter break.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

10 Dec 2017 20:42:59
They had a winter break last season. brown, tierney and sinclair has played the most games so they would be deserving a rest more than anyone.

Agree0 Disagree1

10 Dec 2017 21:53:58
Seen some stats on Twitter from that Barcabhoy about how many games we've played. Apparently the most in Europe.

Sinclair's going through and Whittaker is all over him. No pen because he stays on his feet. Still a foul though.

Exactly. he's stayed on his feet because of what's happend over the last couple of weeks.

You look at Evertons penalty today too and everyone up here that isn't anything to do with Celtic was slating McGregors penalty against Motherwell. What about Ross Countys one refused against Sevco? Always a mountain made out of it when it is us but sweep sweep when decisions go against us or in favour of Sevco.

Get griff back in the team and the draws will turn to wins.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

10 Dec 2017 17:22:12
We turned in a second half performance worthy of our CL exploits.
We were playing nice passing flowing football, slotted two goals (should have been four) then. somebody flicked a switch and we gave the ball away, could not pass to our own players and let them score two goals.
Can't fault CG for the goals so once again, our defence fell apart.
I am sure BR MUST see what we, the supporters see and knows what needs to be done.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

10 Dec 2017 17:46:22
TT two centre halfs is what needs to be done. You couldn't knit one out of Boyata and Jozo together.

Agree2 Disagree2

10 Dec 2017 18:25:40
I was looking forward to seeing Boyata return from injury but it seems to be one awful game after another at the moment his passing is horrendous, Simunovic is no better. Im not joking i would rather Ajer and Bitton together than these pair at the moment.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Dec 2017 18:50:18
The same two showed a lot of promise in partnership last season, but like so many others in the squad at the moment, are well short of what is required and are making far too many mistakes.
This unbeaten run is astonishing, but it looks like a monkey on our back as too many players look jaded and off form.
I would rather lose a game (as long as it's not on Dec 30) and come back stronger, confident and relaxed, than see us stuttering and drawing. There is no doubt the winter break - and the January window - will be a water shed in our season and sees the return of winning ways, better defending and players performing to their best form.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Dec 2017 20:16:59
Once a bhoy just because we may lose a game is no guarantee thst we will come back stronger. Need new players, need better players in tbe key positions that we all know about. The main players from last season have simply not turned up.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Dec 2017 17:02:33
Mega disappointment following today's results - another 2 points dropped in my opinion. Don't care if we are unbeaten Too many draws this year, we were killing games last season but we aren't the same team as last year.

Brendan is the best manager we could hope for he proved that last year but he needs to sign his own players now as he has talent deilas players as far as he can.

Full defence was murder today giving the ball away with slack passes in our own half and inviting on pressure when we were out of position. We need two new CBs and a RB and arguably someone to challenge KT as he is exhausted and it's now impacting his performances

We have plenty attacking options but we miss the qualities that Roberts brings. The ability to cut a team right open or go past a player. We are far too predictable in our build up play.

And signings should not have to meet the boards strategy of buying young and unknown prospects. I think we need a couple of players with experience that will come in useful in Europe and situations like today when your 2-0 up and have to see a game out.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

10 Dec 2017 16:51:52
More impressed by McGinn each time i see him. Long term his drive and energy would be a welcome addition alongside Ntcham and Kouassi. From our point of view i thought BR could have done more to help protect our lead. After playing midweek id have liked to have seen a double substitution around the hour mark. Yes we are not playing well but id rather pick up points not playing well than dropping points when playing well. As i have said previously the break can't come quick enough.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

10 Dec 2017 17:18:33
I hope we offer them Henderson and a few million in Jan and keep him at Hibs for the next 18 months to progress and get games. Will be another case of the one that got away if he moves south and out of our price range.

Agree2 Disagree0

10 Dec 2017 17:35:49
That's a fair shout bt, more time at Hibs won't do him any harm. I really hoped Henderson would become a star for the Hoops but it's not to be so for his own sake that would be a good move for him, he might return some day who knows. I think we have other players we could offer on loan if they are not going to get game time, Ajer, Benyu, Miller, etc. Sitting on the bench or playing in development league does them no good in my opinion that's why i would like to see Johnston given some game time.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Dec 2017 18:56:18
Henderson, £2-3m, 10% sell on clause and a 18 month loan isn't too bad. Best place for them to be in the SPL would be with Lennon. Agree much rather they play than sit on the bench or play against kids. It is the only way they will improve and the best way we can assess if they're cut out to play for us.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Dec 2017 16:23:06
Akk stop moaning bhoys. It was a competitive second half which should be welcomed for entertainment purposes. We had chances to win the game. When we win the league is argued to be poor but when we draw the bhoys are poor. We mightn't be playing great atm but wins breed confidence which I've know doubt will return to us shortly.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

10 Dec 2017 14:47:07
This unbeaten run is getting heavy on our backs. We are no where near the level of last season. This will not be popular but I really think KT is over rated. We need another left back to come in to push him for a first team spot. If we win our game in hand we will be 8 points clear. A lot of hard Games coming up for us. Must win them all. How many SPL games have we won in a row this year?

Believable11 Unbelievable10

10 Dec 2017 14:53:48
We've drawn 1 more game this season so far than we drew the whole of last season. KT to be fair is playing in a defence that badly needs shaken up. Big jozo is too injury prone ( but really like him when he's fit) boyata remember struggled to even make our bench 2 seasons ago. He's definitely not the answer in there.

Agree2 Disagree1

10 Dec 2017 14:58:14
No Dafabet KT isn’t overrated! He’s a 20 year old boy who running on empty because he’s played far to many games without a proper break! We should have brought a back up in as soon as Izzy left! Another poor decision in the defensive position IMO! As for the centre half position, a blind man can see that Boyata ain’t good enough! And Jozo isn’t far behind! Any hint of pressure on both and it’s panic stations! But this something we all know! That should have been a comfortable victory today! Not a happy chappy lads! 😡.

Agree8 Disagree2

10 Dec 2017 15:06:27
@Dafabet what a stupid comment, wee Tierney is one of our most consistent players, I agree he looks a bit jaded and maybe needs a rest, don't forgot also all the rough treatment he has had to endure recently.
I do not think the unbeaten run is hindering us, I think it is our heavy schedule and still 6 more games until we get a break in January.
Dafabet, start supporting the bhoys, instead of moaning.

Agree4 Disagree2

10 Dec 2017 15:07:05
KT is over rated, he too is guilty of panicking when the pressure is on. 5 draws in 16 Games shows a complete lack of consistency.

Agree3 Disagree7

10 Dec 2017 15:12:56
Tim I support the boys alright, however I’m not going to toe the KT line. Just my opinion but I’m serious when I say the boy is overrated. We all agree rangers are rubbish? How are they only 5 points behind with an interim manager. Bottom line is that we are not playing at a good level this year.

Agree5 Disagree4

10 Dec 2017 15:17:12
Nonsense Dafabet! He’s the youngest in the back line next 2 substandard Centre halfs! Like I said, it’s a rest the Wee man needs nothing else! And we’ve went 68 games without defeat, hardly lacking consistency! The team needs freshened up in the January window starting with a commanding centre half!

Agree5 Disagree1

10 Dec 2017 15:22:02
I've also got to disagree dafabet, KT is a cracking player, bit jaded maybe but like someone said in a previous post, we let izzy go and never brought anyone in to compete and possibly switch at times with KT allowing him a wee break. Come January the only signings certainly the most important signings need to be better centre half a than we currently have.

Agree1 Disagree1

10 Dec 2017 15:29:06
There are a few problems in tbe team right now down to players no where near last years level. BR has taken the current crop of players as far as he can. Needs a big freshen up. We spent £4mill on Ncham. Looks worth it. Spending £1mill on johny Hayes and you don't get a player good enough to go straight into the first team. We need at leadt 4 new players.

Agree3 Disagree0

10 Dec 2017 16:11:15
The positive way of looking at it is that we are playing well below our best, but we're still avoiding losing these games.
I don't understand why so many matches have to be played in December, I get that clubs want a break in January, but could the games not be spread more evenly across the season as a whole.
Any benefit the players get in January is totally offset by this fixture list, if Kieran Tierney is looking a bit jaded is it any wonder? .

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Dec 2017 16:29:53
With regards to KT I’m not sure if anyone has mentioned the player playing in front of him? KT is carrying our whole left side in most games. I missed the second half but Sinky hasn’t been great recently and that won’t be helping KT either.

Agree2 Disagree1

10 Dec 2017 16:59:34

@Dafabet. complete bull! The incompetence of the centre half pairing is always going to put other players on edge. The whole team need this break asap.

Agree1 Disagree2

10 Dec 2017 17:25:47
In need 2 of CB and a keeper. Jozo too injury prone and a tad suspect and Boyata is a bit of a bomb scare like Boyata with his passing out of the back and CG invites too much pressure with his distribution. Lustig is experienced but his time as a RB is running out too. The frustrating thing about the draw today was the fact we should've scored about 8 or 9! ED what's you views on the defence? If we are after a CB or 2 who do you think will be moved on? Erik and loan out Ajer?

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Dec 2017 17:57:12
Dafabet how dare you say a bad word against KT eh? Think he is a cracking player but do i agree with you he ain't as good as everyone makes out.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Dec 2017 18:31:50
KT is a Celtic man through and through, one of our own. He is lacking defensively, but good going forward. The whole defense do suffer from panic attack’s at the slightest hint of pressure. Brendan could easily change them all after the last couple of games.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Dec 2017 14:34:10
Enough chances today to win 3 matches, Ntcham was immense what a player we have here, must start every week. Now for the bad bits, the slightest bit of pressure on Boyota or Gordon and they go all biscuit arsed, crying out for an experienced cool head at the back to play alongside Simo. Still invincible though😁😁.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

10 Dec 2017 14:47:40
The defending at times is becoming ridiculous. Boyata struts about as if he's Paulo maldini at times. His passing is shocking. The defence really does need addressed in January. Still undefeated but if we continue defending like that it'll only be a matter of time before the record is broken.

Looking forward to today's game, think Hibs will give us a hard game, and I would not put it past them for Stikes and McGeady both to score.
Team needs freshening up, I would rest Dembele who has not recovered from that tackle in the Motherwell cup game.
I hope Eduard gets the nod, tough on wee Griffiths but he can come on off the bench. I would also drop Sinclair and Armstrong, and play Nitcham and Rogic in their place.
I anticipate a few goals, so anyone betting go over 2.5 or 3.5 goals.
