Hi ed, thanks for running a really great site. Me and my bro have season books in south west corner area 123. We can't see the big screen and miss out on replays and windfall draw etc. The SLO says there are no plans to replace the smaller screen that was in that area. Having forked out over a grand between us I think it's really poor that there is no replacement screen. Are there any other fans in the same boat? Wondering is there anything else we can do?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - You're welcome, Phil and thanks. I've seen people talking to JP Taylor about screens and the sound system but until the Club decide to upgrade them I don't know what else you can do unless there is some sort of concerted effort from a group of season ticket holders affected.}

10 Aug 2017 22:53:38
Thanks ed.

{Ed007's Note - No probs. (yes)

Has the sound system not been upgraded.

{Ed007's Note - There was folk moaning about it on Tw@tter at the weekend so I'm just going with that, Des.}

Saturday last I had another enjoyable enjoying Celtic Hospitality in the Kerrydale Stuite, I was already looking forward to my next visit . However after the short account of someone getting his face lashed immediately before Partick Thisle .
I would have thought we would have full disclosure by now and all hospitality closed for a number of matches . In recent yrs if a member of G B had been involved, stands would have been closed . Was it 900 who were banned for a number of games after GB displayed a banner .
We were told lashing wasn't football related
However that raises more questions, was it drug related, or heavens above was it political because according to UEFA and our pathetic board that's the worse of the worse
Come on, tell us the reason, tell us how everyone in area is going to be punished, so that I might be happy to pay my £85 to go in for pre- match drink.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

{Ed007's Note - It seems people are more worried about a banner or smokebomb than a fan getting their jaw ripped.}

10 Aug 2017 21:33:41
I agree if the majority of people in the hospitality were involved in the slashing it should be closed.

Agree1 Disagree6

10 Aug 2017 21:57:57
Get a grip aindoh so u agree the majority in the section deserve to be banned? So u never sing grace or let the people sing sick of hearing all this rubbish u take the good that comes from the section as Celtic do and condemn when it's appropriate.

Agree3 Disagree5

10 Aug 2017 22:22:00
Not talking about the singing Welsbhoy, am talking about the paramilitary banners, what do you suggest people who disagree with Provo manipulation of the situation do, maybe ed could have a poll, :do you agree with the peace process?, do you think the armed struggle should go on?, or do you not give a toss?,

Agree1 Disagree3

10 Aug 2017 22:46:50
Did u actually look at the banners personally thoughtbthey were very clever. Did u disagree with the Palestine display did u disagree with the 1916 banners the point is to provoke and annoy the opposition. Where at any point has anyone said go on with armed struggle I'm sure if u asked anyone involved thatsbthe last thing they would want the peace process and politics are and will be the way forward but this is not a debate I'm trying to make. And as far as not talking about the singing surely that goes hand in hand so it's ok to sing so long as u don't display a banner about it. I'm not saying everyone should agree and get on but fact is there's a load of Celtic fans who give there all to supporting the team and wether U like it or not they support that team because of the way they were brought up and through the beliefs they have. Celtic and politics don't mix? Aye ok tell me another story.

Agree1 Disagree3

10 Aug 2017 23:01:47
The difference between the GB and hospitality is that it's different people in hospitality every week. If something happens in the GB section then you know who sits there at all times.

Agree0 Disagree3

11 Aug 2017 00:41:39
I don't sing about people blowing innocent men, women and children up, there are different times and different situations, I don't know how old you are, but maybe one day, when you are older, you will realise, it's all a lot of rubbish, there are no beginnings and ends, there is no alpha and omega, there is no heaven or hell, just do unto others what you would have them do to you, and as for Mohamed, he is about as much a messenger of God as Jimmy swaggart (you might need to Google that)

Agree2 Disagree5

11 Aug 2017 09:45:01
Aindoh you're getting carried away and starting to sound like our version of Union Jack as far as logical arguments go and being opinionated. No alpha or omega, no heaven or hell etc. Please leave some of us the option of having religious or political views you may not share which is independent of the argument as to whether that may or may not be compatible with expression at a football match. Opinions are like arseholes we all have one. How you get from the GBs banner or songs which show support for a country's fight for freedom or a people within an abandoned six counties demand and struggle for civil rights to equating that with celebrating the blowing up of innocent men and women or opposition to the peace process is beyond me. They were also very much a reaction rightly or wrongly to Linfields horrendous behaviour in the previous game. I'm in Santa Ponsa at the moment and the support for Celtic for televised games is incredible. So much so that the comment was made to me by a Spurs fan after seeing us here for many years that nothing can match Celtics support because QUOTE: 'Celtic are not a football club but an institution and a way of life''. A club born out of charity necessary because of political factors. As Welshboy intimated you will never seperate Celtic and politics as they are intrinsically linked and are part of the reason together with our footballing history and tradition why we are a club like no other whether you, me, the board, EUFA or anyone else agrees, disagrees, likes it or doesn't.

Agree3 Disagree3

11 Aug 2017 17:24:29
To be honest Aindoh I don't know anybody who sings about blowing up innocent men, women and children. Regardless of your, mine or anyone else on here's opinion about singing the songs at games, I can't think of one rebel song that glorifies that.

This subject has been talked to death. The season has started and the team are flying but still people feel the need to bang on about it. The club have paid the fine and supporter's have paid the price, justly or unjustly. Time to concentrate on other things.

Agree1 Disagree1

11 Aug 2017 17:25:20
This seems to be the media blowing all this out of proportion again . There was no mention of weapons or knifes. Apparently it was 1 guy who attacked his ex misses new man . Nothing to do with politics or drugs. Just a jealous idiot who had too much " hospitality " . Seems very incident is being blown way out of proportion to blacken the name of our club . If it happened in the street or a pub? Would it even get a coloum in the advertiser?

Agree0 Disagree1

11 Aug 2017 17:29:30
@jfp88 - can you please leave my name out of petty squabbles within the Celtic support? Or is it really all about Rangers even when you are on holiday?

Agree1 Disagree2

11 Aug 2017 18:20:00
Ainodh, my daughter is a barrister and she says. She would have no problem defending Celtic and the banner which annoyed loyalists . There is no proof or no reference to paramilitary on that banner .

Aindoh, I doubt if it took 900 GB members to hold up banner but our club banned 900 to be sure.

Club won't even tell us the reason for lashing.
I won't go back to I am sure it is safe.

Agree1 Disagree1

11 Aug 2017 18:43:56
Ed, fur fox sake, Your at it Chris! Been in hospitality more times than Ed has answered me on here!

You won't go back? Well the incident WAS NOT CELTIC RELATED! It was over the head of a woman! where two manual workers @ a night out held a previous grudge!

It was PERSONAL and ISOLATED incident if it had happened on the terraces it would not have made the headlines it did IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Aug 2017 22:21:17
Jamiebhoy, I think the lashing of a man's face is more serious than displaying a banner . Celtic deliver public punishment for holding up a banner . People who were abroad were punished .
But lashing with a knife results in silence, from Celtic .
I still don't know what caused the lashing, just an uncorraberated account from yourself.

Any chance of Boyata or Dembele being fit for Astana home or away.

I would expect not. But then if I was picking a full strength team for Astana both would be on the bench.

we can rest players against dundee, they will need to play their full team against thistle.

Kev : yea they get a hop skip and a jump across the water and 1 days more rest, they really need to look into these draws and make them. Hm Hm, well need I say it 🙄.

What preparation is needed to go to snake mountain and beat that mob? @ Jamesbhoy I would be more likely to rest players against the Sevies than against Dundee especially since it's CL matchday 2 the following midweek after Sevco.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Aug 2017 18:47:13
Yeah there can't be any excuses if we slip up against them. The first game we need to put down a marker and rattle a few past them on their own turf.

10 Aug 2017 19:15:50
They're no concern. Mid table mob. Hibs will batter them this weekend.

Guys let's not go down this route, leave it for the ex bear's
In August we gain an extra day to prepare for the home game against Astana and also an extra day's recovery for the return leg.
(probably some poor fixture compiler is already in trouble over this lol)
Anyway we could play our U12 team and still beat the new club.

11 Aug 2017 17:23:49
nah stevie, full team out against them for maximum humiliation lol.

no stevie the full team have got to play against that mob for 100% humiliation for the currants.

Some media outlets saying city want paddy to go to another club in another league because he's proved himself with us, ad have thought the CL would be the biggest test he could get and he'd walk into all clubs down south maybe outwith the big 5.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

10 Aug 2017 15:55:21
The CL might be the biggest test. But playing in say, the EPL, he could face Chelsea, Utd, Citeh, Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool twice each. Then even playing the likes of Huddersfield and WBA is going to be harder than Killie etc. It'll hopefully be about what the player wants, and hopefully that is to come back and enjoy competing for silverware at a big club.

Agree0 Disagree1

10 Aug 2017 21:07:03
The EPL is full of very wealthy over-paid players of various ability. It appears at least one of its clubs doesn't take sanctions lying down, unlike Celtic .
After the UEFA Cup final two Manchester United players breeched doping rules, both players and club were fined derisory amounts.
UEFA punish Celtic more for a couple of fans displaying a banner .
It's obvious that players sign for EPL teams because of the gross earnings but also any breaking of UEFA rules will be dealt with in the most lenient manner.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - That's complete twaddle, maybe even piffle.}

11 Aug 2017 08:50:17
Piffle - goodness me Ed, bit obscene for a family banter page?
Regarding players and EPL/ While there is some dross games down there there are a lot of big name teams and any player who can show consistently good form against these teams will eventually get picked up by them. Paddy is wanting that consistent weekly challenge to prove himself. The CL only provides the big name challenge ever few weeks and like it or not, WE will struggle to get towards a quarter/ semi final.

Guys, have a look at this video of KT's goal. In particular look at the face of the Killie player on 44 seconds. It's as if he was saying, Where the feck did that shot come from? lol HH
