If the worsed happens and we do end up losing Kayal, i think Lenny could do alot worse than make a move for Lewis Mcgugan from Nottm Forest. Saw him play last night and his range of passing and vision on the ball is exceptional, plus he know K.Wilson. cracking play maker, would be great signing. what do you think Ed?? {Ed001's Note - he would cost a lot of money mind, but he does have some quality, bit of an attitude though apparently.}

fact.rangers are skint.fact.we need a goalie.why the f@ck dont we make them an offer for alexander????

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Because he's pis*

Agree0 Disagree0

He wouldnt sign for uz as he a rangers fan :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Cause ure skint weve got money an alexander is worth more than th guy use canny afford

Agree0 Disagree0

Alexander is by far happy sitting on the bench at ibrox , 2nd best keeper in scotland

TrueBlue72

Agree0 Disagree0

When a goalie sits on the bench for as long as Alexander has, there is no guarentee that he will still be able to play to the same standard. He did look ok on the few occasions he played last year, but that hardly makes him the second best goalie in Scotland
For the money I'd rather buy the polish boy

David

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers need him when Shagger goes to English Championship club

Hi all, I don't post very often but felt it was necessary to post a good luck message to young Islam feruz.I hope he has all the success that Liam miller had when he chased the big bucks with man utd, after all that tommy burns r.I.p.done for him and his family to remain in this country I think it is shameful the way this young man has treated Celtic and the memory of TB.ps edd any news on the striker front

Believable2 Unbelievable1

He is too good to fail, apparently he is on another planet and Celtic have been trying to keep him away from the first team to avoid losing him as he is a true "wonderkid"

Agree0 Disagree0

If he really was a wonderkind he would be playing this year. He has not appeared in any of our friendly, perhaps he is not good enough in which case 300k from chelsea might be steal

I cant understand why people are saying the want Rogne out. The guy is 6 foot 4, good in the air, strong, reads the game well, has a bit of pace and is still only 21.

They said he was the best prospect to come out of Norway in ten years and I still havent seen anything to make me doubt it.

He has had a few injury problems and a couple of bad games but to completely write him off on the strength of that is a shame for a player that I think could be a stalwart for Celtic for years to come.

Rant over.

IslandBhoy

Believable6 Unbelievable0

This i seem to be the only one who rates him. good to see someone else agrees

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree - has potential. The only bad game I remember him having was against Rangers when he wasn't 100% fit anyway and was against a far more experienced opponent.

I think he needs more time to get back from his current injury this time round though. Obviously he's injury prone and throwing him straight into the team will only aggravate it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with you on most of that, however I think he's a bit passive. If he toughens up and loses the injuries, we may have a player........Miko

anybody think that lennon should try and get henrick back for a season?. i know it was a celeb friendly last night but to me he still has all the attributes to score goals in the spl?

Believable3 Unbelievable2

WOULDN, T THAT BE ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT?10 OR 20 GAMES AND HE, D BE THE SPL TOP SCORER AGAIN.KING OF KINGS

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree he Mabe almost 40 but he still has more to offer than all our curent strikers Bring him back for a year then make him striker coach he could teach them all a thing or two

Agree0 Disagree0

Won't happen, tell you what though, he's still better than anything in the SPL and he's nearly 40.....Miko

this is more of a moan than a rumour i cant beleive we have not managed to sign shane long he would have been a fantastic partner for hooper i know money is tight but we went for him in january and reading asked for 3 million and we backed off this boy has got plenty of ability and a real natural goalscorer, he would have lit up the spl and we could have made a tidy profit after a few seasons . I still like to think of celtic as a big club with big ambitions but someone should tell desmond and lawell you get what you pay for

Believable0 Unbelievable1

I hate it when people slag off Desmond. He is neither the Chairman or Chief exec... he is a board member and non executive director of aplc who happens to have a few quid. How many times do people have to be told that he cant just pump money in without also buying the equivalent amount of shares. This would almost certainly push him over the 30% threshold in which he would be FORCED to takeover the club. Last year we lost £2.1m, our sponsorships and tv revenue are practically peanuts, this is why we have to play these far flung friendlies. Plus we've had no champs league money for over 3years. This is why we cant get anywhere near Shane Long, Craig Bellamy, Shay Given, Robbie Keane and co. More realistic targets are Adam LeFondre and Jamie Murphy. Unfortunately this is our bracket at the moment.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have reading not put a 7m price tag on him or something mental like that .. better of without him i reckon he is pretty overated

Agree0 Disagree0

Lack of champions league money is coming back to haunt us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah we were favourites to sign him with a hefty but not impossible 3M asking price then EPL clubs showed an interest and all of a sudden he's valued at 9M. Can't blame Reading, but we can't compete.

We need to look at foreign markets as EPL clubs are more reluctant to sign players from there as the leagues are deemed to be a lesser standard. Keep scouting Eastern Europe, Scandanavia, Africa, Japan, lesser clubs in South America and let the EPL pay stupid money for players from Spain, Germany, France, Holland and Italy.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2011 13:11:46
Just seen on espnsoccernet that islam feruz will join chelsea. Its states chelsea can sign him as a youth player until he is 17 for 300thousand.Seemingly he met lawllel about signing a contract in september when he turned 16, but the lure of the money has wasted his head, he also attended the meeting with his family which i find amazing considaring what tommy burns and celtic hav done for this kid and family.Iwould hav sent them back to where they came from which isnt nice but thats the way i feel. The article said he should take a leaf out of big john kennedys book about loyalty. All i can say is the celtic family is worldwide and does not forget , you ungratefull greedy little nobody remember that.Cmonthehoops.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Celtic and Tommy Burns gave him the opprtunity of a good life by what they did for him and I'm sure he and his family are extremely grateful, and to say he is ungrateful because he's leaving is a bit narrow minded. Remember this kid came from abject poverty, so in order to make the best life for his family, the obvious choice would be chelsea over us. But I do understand our fan's frustrations.
Kevbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Rite im a gers fan here and i knew about this deal months ago ... im sure the recent meeting was to sort a compensation amount (similar to that Dylan Mcgeouch sp). But What tommy did for this kid was nothing to do with football he was helping his family and personal living problems out in Somalai (is that right) I wonder what Tommy Burns would think of ur comments of "sending them back" he would be a mug to knock back the chance of training with some of the best players in the world with some of the best coaches this will improve his game more id imagine than it would up here. You cant blame the boy for wanting to be all he can be.... I wonder if u think the same thing wen we poach a youngster of one of the teams in scotland .... id think not

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a load of pish again. It's the same tit who wrote in scotzine. He is the only person to say that feruz is going to chelsea. If he was, it'd be in the big rags
ben Bhoy 1916

Agree0 Disagree0

We are all disapointed with Feruz going to Chelsea, but this is football, Celtic have done it plenty times. To say send him back to where he came from is just stupid, i'm sure Tommy would be disapointed, but he would still wish the lad and his family all the very best. I am sore about it as well, but you just have to look at John Kennedy to see how quickly football can change. I think his family couldn't turn down this chance, it's a pity for us, but thats the game.
paddybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Still think it'd be wise to wait on a reliable source before blasting this kid.

The Chelsea youth system is dire anyway. Or rather their policy is dire, so if he joins the youth set up there he's destined for failure. I'm sure they have some top class talents and training facilities way better than ours but none of the players make the breakthrough before the manager fills the squad full of overpriced garbage of whatever manager in charge's choosing since he's just signed after the previous manager's 5 games and a fag in charge and has been given cash to splash. And by making the breakthrough I don't mean 5 minutes of a game against Wigan or another EPL struggler. I'm talking regular games.

Man United (his favourite club), Arsenal, Liverpool or a lesser EPL side with a decent policy of playing younger players would be a better move. {Ed001's Note - in what way is the Chelsea youth system dire? They recently rebuilt the youth system from the ground up, improving every part of it and it is finally showing fruit. The likes of McEachran are just the tip of an iceberg of good young players at the club. You have to remember it can take a long time for a youth policy to bear fruit, after all Ferguson was the one who got the benefits of the one Atkinson set up at Man United.}

Rangers fans are so dumb they are saying naismith is better than commens wallace is better than izaguirre and get this davis is better than kayal ... how many straws have they clutched at

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I think they are all good mate. but they play different styles so hard to tell really im a rangers man im happy with davis and ur happy with kayal lets just leave it at that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dunno the same amount as you ? straight away runnin to this page to make yourself feel better that is their fans opinion they are entitled to it providing they have reasons to back it up.

Agree0 Disagree0

In fairness all three are better.. the latter by miles

Agree0 Disagree0

Stvene Davis is better than Kayal FACT

Jock

Agree0 Disagree0

The first 2 are wrong but mate cmon , Davis is the best player in the spl , quite alot would agree

Agree0 Disagree0

They are all good players - Kayal has only played one season, judge him over 3 seasons. davis is a class player, but again he is different to Kayal. Commons played amazing last season, but he does look over-weight this season. Naisy has done it for Rangers now for 3 years and in europe too. If these players are soo much better than ours why are we champions?

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe - but jelavic is 10 better than Hooper and stokes put together haha

also McShagger is the best goalie around, even our back up is better than Zaluska

We have some better and you have some better, but we are the champs so prove it this season if you are soooo superior

Agree0 Disagree0

I have actually pissed myself.....Commons is better than Naismith, many goals did Naismith score for club/country last year?

Izzaguirre is wanted by Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal.....Wallace was wanted by your mob and Wolves

Kayal is wanted by Bolton, Everton, Liverpool etc......Davis has not been targetted by anyone so far this season, and couldn't cut it with Aston Villa or Fulham....so came north.

And for the idiot that thinks Davis is the best player in the SPL, tell me what village are you from

You have only been champions for the last three years as Tony Mowbray f***ed up badly, Lenny has only had one season to mould "his" team It's all swings and roundabouts gentlemen, we won 3 in a row before you's did (2006, 2007, 2008)

Hammy

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you have inside info on the case do u? so weve lost it mmmmmmmmmmm dont think so keep dreaming the hmrc know if they find rangers guilty then they are numerous epl clubs will face similar charges you really think the goverment will allow that? no girls ur gonna have to work hard on the pitch to beat ur champions watp.

Looks like we have found the answer to our Goalkeeper and striker problem.
Packy Bonner and King Henrik. They were both outstanding last night and the young chubby guy Kelly looked good in the last 15 minutes of the game, better than most cb we have, think we could get him for 2 pints of lager and a packet of crisps.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

10 Aug 2011 09:52:11
total joke we didnt sign a goalkeeper by now been over 6wks think we have handed them at ipox the advantage as quite clearly we have needed a goalie and i was really looking forward to a wee run in europe aswell but i feel let down we didnt sign one......... hooperman

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I totally agree with you. Why are we being outbid by Genk for a goalie we are supposed to really want. Fand were promised a goalie weeks ago.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Please just hold your breath and give us all peace we will get a keeper anyway the one we have just now has played 2 conceded none in the spl and that is the main thing

Have still got goosebumps after watching the Legends match. Respect to all who took part and all those terrific supporters who made it so great.
Well done JK who had a very promising career end prematurely and put those in dire need ahead of himself with amazing generosity and humility.
Some of those guys on the park could still do a job today (King of Kings, Mjallby, Keane, Dublin and Petta etc). Gerard Butler did brilliant and well done to the lucky Hoops fans that got to play a part.
We may not have won a squillion trophys like other famous clubs but we have a tradition and class reputation that money just can't buy.
Just add another fine chapter to the Football Fairy Tale that is Glasgow Celtic. So proud, I just can't get enough.......

Henrik hasn't lost it, winning headers, linking play, stretching defences with smart movement and expert finishing - he is the King of Kings Was a pleasure to be there tonight.

Secondly hope Lennon slipped larsson a wee contract at the after match dinner table lol, this guy hasn't lost his touch at all, and to see lobo, sutton and so on in a Celtic strip again was amazing but a special moment was seeing hartson in a hoops jersey again brought a smile to my face that such a gentlemen like him beat cancer and is back to good health

And lastly I had such an amazing nite at paradise tonight and everyone who was there am sure will echo this and if u didn't manage to make it then a hope the tv coverage gave this game justice as this is something that will be in memory till the day I pass
